        The Transport Characteristics of <sup>238</sup>U, <sup>232</sup>Th, <sup>226</sup>Ra, and <sup>40</sup>K in the Production Cycle of Phosphate Rock

        Background: Phosphate rock and its by-product are widely used in various industries to produce phosphoric acid, gypsum, gypsum board, and fertilizer. Owing to its high level of natural radioactive nuclides (e.g., $^{238}U$ and $^{226}Ra$), the radiological safety of workers who work with phosphate rock should be systematically managed. In this study, $^{238}U$, $^{232}Th$, $^{226}Ra$, and $^{40}K$ levels were measured to analyze the transport characteristics of these radionuclides in the production cycle of phosphate rock. Materials and Methods: Energy dispersive X-ray fluorescence and gamma spectrometry were used to determine the activity of $^{238}U$, $^{232}Th$, $^{226}Ra$, and $^{40}K$. To evaluate the extent of secular disequilibrium, the analytical results were compared using statistical methods. Finally, the distribution of radioactivity across different stages of the phosphate rock production cycle was evaluated. Results and Discussion: The concentration ratios of $^{226}Ra$ and $^{238}U$ in phosphate rock were close to 1.0, while those found in gypsum and fertilizer were extremely different, reflecting disequilibrium after the chemical reaction process. The nuclide with the highest activity level in the production cycle of phosphate rock was $^{40}K$, and the median $^{40}K$ activity was $8.972Bq{\cdot}g^{-1}$ and $1.496Bq{\cdot}g^{-1}$, respectively. For the $^{238}U$ series, the activity of $^{238}U$ and $^{226}Ra$ was greatest in phosphate rock, and the distribution of activity values clearly showed the transport characteristics of the radionuclides, both for the byproducts of the decay sequences and for their final products. Conclusion: Although the activity of $^{40}K$ in k-related fertilizer was relatively high, it made a relatively low contribution to the total radiological effect. However, the activity levels of $^{226}Ra$ and $^{238}U$ in phosphate rock were found to be relatively high, near the upper end of the acceptable limits. Therefore, it is necessary to systematically manage the radiological safety of workers engaged in phosphate rock processing.

        Complete Genome and Calcium Carbonate Precipitation of Alkaliphilic Bacillus sp. AK13 for Self-Healing Concrete

        Bacteria that are resistant to high temperatures and alkaline environments are essential for the biological repair of damaged concrete. Alkaliphilic and halotolerant Bacillus sp. AK13 was isolated from the rhizosphere of Miscanthus sacchariflorus. Unlike other tested Bacillus species, the AK13 strain grows at pH 13 and withstands 11% (w/v) NaCl. Growth of the AK13 strain at elevated pH without urea promoted calcium carbonate (CaCO<sub>3</sub>) formation. Irregular vateritelike CaCO<sub>3</sub> minerals that were tightly attached to cells were observed using field-emission scanning electron microscopy. Energy-dispersive X-ray spectrometry, confocal laser scanning microscopy, and X-ray diffraction analyses confirmed the presence of CaCO<sub>3</sub> around the cell. Isotope ration mass spectrometry analysis confirmed that the majority of CO<sub>3</sub><sup>2-</sup> ions in the CaCO<sub>3</sub> were produced by cellular respiration rather than being derived from atmospheric carbon dioxide. The minerals produced from calcium acetate-added growth medium formed smaller crystals than those formed in calcium lactate-added medium. Strain AK13 appears to heal cracks on mortar specimens when applied as a pelletized spore powder. Alkaliphilic Bacillus sp. AK13 is a promising candidate for self-healing agents in concrete.

        Optimization of Radiostrontium Separation Process Using Sr Resin

        순수 베타 핵종인 90Sr 분석은 화학적 거동이 유사한 알칼리 토금속(Ca, Ba, Ra)등 방해 원소를 제거할 분리 공정이 필요하다. 본 연구는 Sr을 추출/정제하기 위해 추출크로마토그래피법을 이용한 최적의 절차를 마련 하는 것을 목적으로 한다. Sr resin 1.5 mL BV(Bed Volume)의 최대 Sr 흡착량은 6 mg이었다. 유량 1 mL min-1과 Ca 200 mg 이하에서는 Sr resin 1.5 mL(BV)의 Sr 회수는 정량적이었으나, 유량을 5 mL min-1으로 중가 시키면 Sr 회수율이 감소하였다. 같은 양(BV)의 Sr resin을 사용할 경우, 컬럼의 단면적이 작을수록 Sr resin의 분리능이 향상되었다. For the analysis of 90Sr, which is a pure beta emitter, radiochemical separation from the main interfering elements such as Ca, Ba and Ra is required due to their similarity in chemical behavior to strontium. This study describes a radioanalytical procedure using extraction chromatography for separating Sr from interfering elements. The maximum capacity of the resin for Sr was approximately 6 mg per 1.5 mL of bed volume (BV). The recovery of Sr on the resin 1.5 mL (BV) was quantitative for the calcium level of 200 mg at the flow rate of 1 mL min-1. However the chemical yield declined by increasing the flow rate by up to 5 mL min-1 even at the calcium level of 200 mg. When using the same BV of Sr resin, the performance of the resin was enhanced as the cross-sectional area of the Sr resin column is small.

        넷플릭스 K-드라마 <오징어 게임>의 한국 문화 관련 어휘 번역 양상

        본고의 목적은 한국어와 영어 자막에서 한국 문화 관련 어휘가 어떻게 번역되었는지를 분석하고, 이를바탕으로 번역의 문제점을 파악하여 바람직한 번역의 방향을 논의하는 것이다. 이를 위해 넷플릭스 공식 채널을 통해 공개된 <오징어 게임>을 중심으로 한국 문화 어휘 40개를 추출하고, 영어로 번역된 양상을 7가지 번역 전략으로 나누어 분석하였다. 그 결과 직접 번역보다 간접 번역의 전략이 사용된 경우가 많았고, 특히 물질문화, 사회문화, 언어문화에서 서로 차이가 큰 경우에 치환, 변조, 등가, 번안의간접 번역이 이루어진 경우가 대부분인 것으로 나타났다. 이를 통해 영상 번역의 경우 자국화를 위한간접 번역의 전략이 주로 사용되고 있음을 확인할 수 있었다. 다양한 영상 콘텐츠를 통해 한국의 문화가 전 세계로 알려지고 있는 현 시점에서 본 연구가 한국 문화의 진정한 가치와 특성을 담은 문화 관련 어휘의 바람직한 번역을 고민하기 위한 의미 있는 자료가 되기를 기대한다. The purpose of this paper is to examine the translation of Korean culture-bound lexis into English, identify any translation problems that arise, and discuss the preferred direction for translation. In order to achieve this goal, the focus was placed on <Squid Game>, which is released through Netflix's official channel, and extracted 40 Korean culture-bound lexis for analysis and the translation aspects of these lexis into English were divided into seven strategies. As a result, indirect translation strategies were frequently employed instead of direct translations. In such cases, various techniques such as transposition, modulation, equivalence and adaptation were utilized, particularly when significant cultural differences existed in terms of material, social, and linguistic culture. Through this, it was confirmed that the indirect translation strategy for domestification is mainly used in media translation. In an era when Korean culture is gaining global recognition through diverse media platforms, this study aims to provide valuable insight into translating culture-bound lexis that accurately reflect the core values and unique characteristics of Korean culture.

        제1언어와 제2언어의 중의문 해결 방안.

        이 연구는 제1언어와 제2언어의 언어처리 전략을 조사하기 위한 연구로서, 관계사절 중의문에 대한 해결 방안을 관찰하는 방법을 통해 한국어 화자와 영어 사용이 지배적인 상황에 놓인 영어와 한국어 능통 화자를 비교하고 있습니다. 연구에서는 한국어 지배적인 실험자들은 forward transfer를 보였고, 영어지배적인 실험 대상들은 backward transfer를 보였는데 이는 이 실험 대상들이 영어 지배적이든 한국어 지배적이든 상관없이 지배적인 언어의 분석전략을 사용했다는 것을 보여주고 있습니다. 이는 언어의 기간과 양이 실험자들의 분석전략 발달에 직접적으로 영향을 주었다는 것을 의미한다고 해석할 수 있다. 즉 이 연구를 통해 영어를 제2언어로 배우는 학습자들은 universal account로 설명될 수 없다고 볼 수 있다. 그리고 최근의 연구에서 언어우위성(language dominance)과 언어능숙도를 충분히 구별하고 있지 않다는 점을 지적할 수 있다.         Late-Onset Eccrine Angiomatous Hamartoma Associated with a Ganglion Cyst on the Sole of the Foot

        Eccrine angiomatous hamartoma (EAH) is a benign,uncommon, combined vascular and eccrine malformation. Most cases of this disorder have been single or multiple nodules or plaques that appear red, yellow, blue, violaceous,or skin colored. EAH may be congenital or appear later in childhood; it rarely arises during puberty or adulthood. A 52-year-old female patient visited our department for tender subcutaneous cystic tumor on the right sole with a one month history. Histopathologic examination confirmed EAH. During excisional biopsy procedure, mucinous discharges were observed which were histopathologically diagnosed as ganglion. (Ann Dermatol 23(S2) S218∼S221, 2011)

      • Development of e-Learning Content Based on SAM for corporate Learners

        In this study, e-learning content was developed based on the SAM (Successive Approximation Model) to suggest a new e-learning model for employees. SAM is a method for creative resolution of problems through the iterative processes of design, develop, evaluate. By analyzing employees`` experience and perception of e-learning, coupled with analyses of current trends in HRD and technology, various insights and ideas for the design and development of e-learning content was elicited. The final content was completed through three steps of prototyping and feedback from learners and experts. The strategies for designing and developing e-learning content used in this study are: (1) to thoroughly scope the learning experience and develop it with minimal costs (2) to present the proper amount of learning content for a reduce cognitive load in e-learning, so that learners can process information more effectively (3) to produce a video lecture with byte size for updating new content directly (4) to develop content using HTML5 for easier accessibility with pc, mobile, and other devices. The usability test results obtained from learners and experts show that this content is better than the previous content in terms of effectiveness, aesthetic impression, efficiency, presentation strategy, content structure, engagement, and accessibility.
