      • Neural Network Processing of Linguistic Variables

        본 논문에서는 언어 변수의 신경회로망 처리에 있어서, 언어변수가 가지는 용어(用語)의 표기법(表記法)과 부호법(符號法)에 관하여 고찰하였다. 실험결과, 언어 변수의 신경회로망 처리시, 적절한 시스템 오차 설정과 용어 표기법 설정이 중요하며, 이들 값들이 적합하게 설정된 경우에는 시스템 실행 시간을 크게 단출할 수 있었다. 또한 학습자료로 사용하지 않은 출력값 중의 몇 가지는, 실행인자(實行因子) 각각의 변화에도 일관성있는 결과를 나타내므로, 다른 학습된 자료의 출력값과 같이 상당히 신빙성있게 받아들일 수 있었다. In this paper, we investigate a method of representing and coding linguistie terms for the purpose of processing them by a neural network scheme. We can reduce the computation time by setting an appropriate system error via the number of levels assigned to the linguistie terms. Among the outputs which are not given by the sample training data, some have extremely reasonable meanings.

        A Wireless Intraocular Pressure Sensor with Variable Inductance Using a Ferrite Material

        A wireless intraocular (IOP) pressure sensor based on micro electro mechanical system (MEMS) technology is proposed. The proposed IOP sensor uses variable inductance according to the external pressure. The proposed sensor is composed of two flexible membranes: a ferrite bottom part, an inductor, and a capacitor. The inductance of the sensor varies according to the external pressure. The resonance frequency of the sensor is also varied, and this frequency is detected using an external coil. The external coil is designed with an FR-4 printed circuit board. The feasibility of the proposed sensor structure using variable inductance to detect the external pressure is successfully demonstrated.

        Over the last decade, many inductive learning method which generates production-rules from examples has been proposed to overcome knowledge acquisition bottleneck. In this paper, we propose a production-rule generating method which uses genetic algorithm learning. By analyzing optimal sub-solutions captured by genetic algorithm, our method takes advantage of their schema structure and thus generates relatively small rule set.

        신경망을 사용한 학습은 잡음이 섞인 자료에 대해서도 비교적 편향되지 않고 학습할 수 있다는 장점을 갖지만, 사용자가 학습된 내용을 해석하거나 본 논문에서는 신경망을 사용하여 귀납적으로 학습시킨 내용을 생성규칙 형태의 지식으로 변환하여 줄 수 있는 복수전략학습을 제시한 후 IRIS 분류문제와 갑상선 병 진단문제에 적용하여 제안한 방법의 타당성을 검토하였다. 실험 결과, 제안한 방법은 이산형 자료에 대해서는 다른 방법들 보다 높은 식별율을 보였으며, 연속형 자료에 대해서도 거의 대등한 식별율을 보였다.

        Frontoparietal Cortical Thinning in Respiratory-Type Panic Disorder: A Preliminary Report

        Objective-Many evidences raise the possibility that the panic disorder (PD) patients with respiratory subtype (RS) may have characteristic structural abnormalities. We aimed to explore the structural differences between PD patients with and without the respiratory symptoms. Methods-Patients with PD were recruited from the Department of Psychiatry at Korea University Anam Hospital. Respiratory subtype (RS) was diagnosed when at least 4 out of 5 of the following respiratory symptoms were present during the panic attack: fear of dying, chest pain/discomfort, shortness of breath, paresthesias, and a choking sensation. We acquired high-resolution MRI scans and used FreeSurfer to obtain a measure of cortical thickness for each patient. Results-Cluster based analysis revealed significantly decreased cortical thickness in the left hemisphere in the caudal-middle-frontal, superior frontal, and posterior parietal areas in the RS group. No significant difference was observed in any of the limbic areas. Conclusion-Respiratory symptoms of panic disorder were associated with a reduction in cortical thickness in the left frontal and parietal areas. This finding leads to the assumption that the frontoparietal network is the crucial component in a larger cortical network underlying the perception of dyspnea in RS.

        Development of Gas Chromatography/ Mass Spectrometry for the Determination of Essential Fatty Acids in Food Supplemental Oil Products

        A gas chromatography/ mass spectrometric (GC/MS) method was developed as a candidate reference method for the accurate determination of essential fatty acids (linoleic acid, α- and γ-linolenic acids) in food supplemental oil products. Samples were spiked with three internal standards (stearic acid-d35, 13C18-linoleic acid, and 13C18-α-linolenic acid). Samples were then subject to saponification, derivatization for methylation, and extraction by organic solvent. For GC/MS measurement, an Agilent HP-88 column, designed for the separation of fatty acid methyl esters, was selected after comparing with other columns as it provided better separation for target analytes. Target analytes and internal standards were detected by selected ion monitoring of molecular ions of their methyl ester forms. The GC/MS method was applied for the measurement of three botanical oils in NIST SRM 3274 (borage oil, evening primrose oil, and flax oil), and measurement results agreed with the certified values. Measurement results for target analytes which have corresponding isotope-labeled analogues as internal standard were calculated based on isotope dilution mass spectrometry (IDMS) approach, and compared with results calculated by using the other two internal standards. Results from the IDMS approach and the typical internal standard approach were in good agreement within their measurement uncertainties. It proves that the developed GC/MS method can provide similar metrological quality with IDMS methods for the measurement of fatty acids in natural oil samples if a proper fatty acid is used as an internal standard.

        액상 실리콘 함침법(Liquid silicon infiltration, LSI) 공정을 통해 제작된 탄소섬유 강화 실리콘 카바이드 (C/SiC) 복합재의 압축강도에 대한 섬유 방향, 시편 크기, 그리고 온도의 영향을 연구하였다. 섬유 방향에 대한 변수로 시험 하중 방향에 대해 수직으로 섬유방향을 가진 Across grain(A/G) 시편과 평행으로 섬유방향을 가지는 With grain(W/G) 시편을 제작하였다. 크기효과를 보기 위해 직경대 높이 비가 1:2, 1:1의 비를 가지는 시편을 각각 제작하여 시험하였다. 온도는 상온, 500℃, 그리고 900℃로 설정하였고 산화의 영향을 배제하기 위해 산화방지제를 도포하였다. 압축강도는 온도 증가에 따라 높게 나타났으며, 크기 변화에 따른 압축강도 영향은 Grain에 따라 다른 양상을 보였다. The effects of the fiber direction, specimen size and temperature on the compressive strength of carbon fiber reinforced silicon carbide composite (C/SiC composite) manufactured by liquid silicon infiltration(LSI) is investigated. Tests were conducted in accordance with ASTM C 695 at room temperature and elevated temperatures. Experiments are conducted with two different specimens considering grain direction. With grain (W/G) specimens have a carbon fibers parallel to the load direction, but across grain (A/G) specimens have a perpendicular carbon fibers. To verify the specimen size effect of C/SiC composite, two types of specimens are manufactured. One has a one to two ratio of diameter to height and the other has a one to one ratio. The compressive strength of C/SiC composite increased as temperature rise. As specimens are larger, compressive strength of A/G specimens increased, however compressive strength of W/G decreased.

        Survey and Analysis of Interactive Art Documentation, 1979-2017

        <P> Today, documentation is becoming a major source of exposure and appreciation for artworks on the Internet, beyond the original purpose of preservation and academic archiving. This study analyzes 982 documentations of interactive digital art projects created between 1979 and 2017. Each documentation was represented as a point in a 17-dimensional vector space through binary encoding. The resulting visualization from the t-SNE algorithm shows that, compared to its phenomenological quality, most documentation of interactive art is a cinematic surrogate that follows film post-production techniques. In conclusion, this study calls for the development of documentary techniques that can provide the viewer with a quasi-authentic experience of the original work in interactive digital art. </P>
