A novel method for identifying rotor-stator rubbing positions using the cepstrum analysis technique

        Guo Chen,Yong-Quan Liu,Guang-Yi Jiang,Cheng-Gang Li,Guo-Quan Feng,De-You Wang 대한기계학회 2014 JOURNAL OF MECHANICAL SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY Vol.28 No.9

A novel method of aero-engine rubbing positions identification based on cepstrum analysis is proposed, and the transfer path characteristicswhich reflect the transfer characteristics information from rubbing points to casing measuring points are separated from the vibrationacceleration signals of casing by means of cepstrum analysis. Therefore, there is different transfer characteristics information atdifferent rubbing positions, and in view of this, twenty rubbing positions identification features from the cepstrum are extracted. A largenumber of rubbing experiments of different positions are simulated with the rotor experiment rig of aero-engine, and the characteristicanalysis of experimental samples at different rubbing positions is carried out, and the results indicate the consistency of features to thesame rubbing position and the difference of the features to the different rubbing positions. Finally, the aero-engine rubbing positionsidentification is carried out using the nearest neighbor classification method, the recognition rate reaches 100%, and the effectiveness ofthe method is full verified.

Metagenomic Insight into Lignocellulose Degradation of the Thermophilic Microbial Consortium TMC7

( Yi Wang ),( Chen Wang ),( Yonglun Chen ),( Beibei Chen ),( Peng Guo ),( Zongjun Cui ) 한국미생물 · 생명공학회 2021 Journal of microbiology and biotechnology Vol.31 No.8

Biodegradation is the key process involved in natural lignocellulose biotransformation and utilization. Microbial consortia represent promising candidates for applications in lignocellulose conversion strategies for biofuel production; however, cooperation among the enzymes and the labor division of microbes in the microbial consortia remains unclear. In this study, metagenomic analysis was performed to reveal the community structure and extremozyme systems of a lignocellulolytic microbial consortium, TMC7. The taxonomic affiliation of TMC7 metagenome included members of the genera Ruminiclostridium (42.85%), Thermoanaerobacterium (18.41%), Geobacillus (10.44%), unclassified_f__Bacillaceae (7.48%), Aeribacillus (2.65%), Symbiobacterium (2.47%), Desulfotomaculum (2.33%), Caldibacillus (1.56%), Clostridium (1.26%), and others (10.55%). The carbohydrate-active enzyme annotation revealed that TMC7 encoded a broad array of enzymes responsible for cellulose and hemicellulose degradation. Ten glycoside hydrolases (GHs) endoglucanase, 4 GHs exoglucanase, and 6 GHs β-glucosidase were identified for cellulose degradation; 6 GHs endo-β-1,4-xylanase, 9 GHs β-xylosidase, and 3 GHs β-mannanase were identified for degradation of the hemicellulose main chain; 6 GHs arabinofuranosidase, 2 GHs α-mannosidase, 11 GHs galactosidase, 3 GHs α-rhamnosidase, and 4 GHs α-fucosidase were identified as xylan debranching enzymes. Furthermore, by introducing a factor named as the contribution coefficient, we found that Ruminiclostridium and Thermoanaerobacterium may be the dominant contributors, whereas Symbiobacterium and Desulfotomaculum may serve as “sugar cheaters” in lignocellulose degradation by TMC7. Our findings provide mechanistic profiles of an array of enzymes that degrade complex lignocellulosic biomass in the microbial consortium TMC7 and provide a promising approach for studying the potential contribution of microbes in microbial consortia.

Efficient degradation of imidacloprid in wastewater by a novel p-n heterogeneous Ag2O/BiVO4/diatomite composite under hydrogen peroxide

        Jing Chen,Qifang Ren,Chunshan Xu,Bin Chen,Shaohua Chen,Yi Ding,Zhen Jin,Wanmi Guo,Xinyu Jia 한국공업화학회 2023 Journal of Industrial and Engineering Chemistry Vol.123 No.-

In this study, Ag2O/BiVO4/diatomite composite with p-n heterojunction structure was synthesized bysimple hydrothermal method with diatomite as carrier. It was found that under the action of hydrogenperoxide (H2O2), the imidacloprid (IMD) could be effectively degraded by the composite. Systemic evaluationswas conducted on effects of pH value, catalyst dosage, H2O2 concentration, initial IMD concentration, and anion on how effeciently this new photocatalytic composite can degrade IMD. The results showthat the p-n heterojunction formed between the two contact surfaces of Ag2O nanoparticle and BiVO4promotes the charge transfer between the interfaces, inhibits recombination of electrons and holes, and thus significantly improves the catalytic performance. The stability and reusability of Ag2O/BiVO4/diatomite composites were tested with ICP experiment and cyclic experiment. Active substancecapture experiment and ESR reveal the photocatalytic reaction mechanism and confirm that superoxideradical (O2), hydroxyl radical (OH), and h+ can promote the degradation of IMD. The degradation productsand the intermediates of IMD were identified through LC-MS, on a basis of which the possible transformationpathway was proposed. In situ synthesis of p-type Ag2O and n-type BiVO4 heterojunctioncomposites has opened a new direction for photocatalytic degradation of organic pollutants.

Construction and Characterization of a Full-length cDNA Library and Identification of Genes Involved in Salinity Stress in Wild Eggplant (Solanum torvum Swartz)

        Gang Chen,Hua Wang,Jun-Yi Gai,Yue-Lin Zhu,Li-Fei Yang,Qian-Qian Liu,Gong-Chen Zhang,Guo-Hu Chen 한국원예학회 2012 Horticulture, Environment, and Biotechnology Vol.53 No.2

The objectives of this paper were to construct a full-length cDNA library and to isolate genes that confer salt tolerance from the leaves of salinity-tolerant wild eggplant variety, ‘Torvum Vigor’ (Solanum torvum Swartz). A full-length cDNA library from the leaves was successfully constructed by a switching mechanism at 5’-end of RNA transcript (SMART) approach and a long-distance PCR (LD-PCR) technique. The titer of the primary cDNA library was 3.6 ×106 cfu・mL-1 and that of the amplified library was 1.2 × 1010 cfu・mL-1. Gel electrophoresis results showed that most of the cDNA inserts ranged from 0.40 to 2.5 kb, with a recombination rate of 99%. A total of 427 randomly selected positive clones were sequenced. After removing the unsuccessful reads, 364 datasets were obtained and have been submitted to the NCBI Nucleotide Sequence Database under GenBank accession numbers JK265131-JK265494. Among the 364 submitted sequences, 74.45% of them contained full-length coding regions. BLASTX analysis revealed that 62.36% of the ‘Torvum Vigor’ expressed sequence tags (ESTs) possessed homology to known or putative proteins of other organisms. Seven genes that might be responsible for the encoding of known proteins in other organisms were identified to confer salt tolerance. This evidence demonstrated that the cDNA library constructed was a full-length library of high quality. It could be a useful resource for further research in the cloning of stress-related genes, which could be utilized in the genetic improvement of vegetable crops using transgenic technology.

Acupuncture Therapy for the Treatment of Myelosuppression after Chemotherapy: A Literature Review over the Past 10 Years

        Yi Guo,Hongwei Fu,Bo Chen,Shouhai Hong 사단법인약침학회 2015 Journal of Acupuncture & Meridian Studies Vol.8 No.3

The aim of this study is to review current studies on the effect of acupuncture therapy on bone marrow suppression after chemotherapy. The authors of the present paper have searched related literature over the past 10 years at home and abroad, analyzing the features and the effects of acupuncture therapy (including acupuncture, moxibustion, point injection, point application, etc.) for treating myelosuppression after tumor chemotherapy. We also discuss the year of publication, document type, acupuncture therapy, acupoint selection, and adverse effects with figures. We analyzed 159 articles related to acupuncture therapy from 2004 to 2013, and the analysis revealed that point injection was the most frequently used therapy for clinical applications, and that Zusanli (ST36) was the most frequently used acupoint. The results showed that some problems regarding the design method, acupoint selection, and acupuncture intervention measure existed in those research studies. We hope to provide readers with an overall and objective understanding of acupuncture and moxibustion therapy for treating myelosuppression after tumor chemotherapy.

Inflammatory Endotypes and Tissue Remodeling Features in Antrochoanal Polyps

        Chen Cai-Ling,Wang Yu-Ting,Yao Yin,Pan Li,Guo Bei,Zhu Ke-Zhang,Ma Jin,Wang Nan,Li Xue-Li,Deng Yi-Ke,Liu Zheng 대한천식알레르기학회 2021 Allergy, Asthma & Immunology Research Vol.13 No.6

Purpose: The pathogenic mechanisms of antrochoanal polyps (ACPs) remain largely unknown. This study aimed to characterize inflammatory patterns and tissue remodeling features in ACPs. Methods: Inflammatory cell infiltration and tissue edema severity as well as fibrin deposition in ACPs and bilateral eosinophilic and noneosinophilic nasal polyps (NPs) were studied with immunohistochemical and immunofluorescence staining. Cytokine levels in sinonasal tissues were detected with the Bio-Plex assay. The expression of coagulation and fibrinolytic markers was measured using reverse-transcription polymerase chain reaction and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays. Results: Compared to control tissues and bilateral eosinophilic and noneosinophilic NPs, ACPs had higher levels of neutrophil infiltration and expression of myeloperoxidase (MPO), interleukin (IL)-8 and interferon (IFN)-γ. In total, 94.4% of ACPs demonstrated an eosinophil cationic protein/MPO ratio of < 1, compared to 79.0% of noneosinophilic and 26% of eosinophilic NPs. Principle component and multiple correspondence analyses revealed a neutrophilic and type 1 inflammation pattern in ACPs. Compared to control tissues, edema scores and fibrin deposition were increased, whereas d-dimer and tissue plasminogen activator (tPA) levels were decreased in ACPs and bilateral NPs, with more prominent changes in ACPs even than in eosinophilic NPs. The tPA levels were negatively correlated with IFN-γ, IL-8, and MPO levels in ACPs. Neutrophils were the major cellular source of IFN-γ in ACPs, and the number of IFN-γ+ neutrophils was elevated in ACPs than in control tissues and bilateral eosinophilic and noneosinophilic NPs. Conclusions: ACPs are characterized by the neutrophilic and type 1 inflammation endotype. Neutrophil-derived IFN-γ is associated with reduced tPA production in ACPs.

Influence of Ga(Al)As substrates on surface morphology and critical thickness of InGaAs quantum dots

        Yi Wang,Xiang Guo,Jiemin Wei,Chen Yang,Zijiang Luo,Jihong Wang,Zhao Ding 한국물리학회 2019 Current Applied Physics Vol.19 No.4

Influence of Ga(Al)As substrates on surface morphology of InGaAs quantum dots and critical thickness of In0.5Ga0.5As film grown by molecular beam epitaxy is investigated. The In0.5Ga0.5As quantum dots are grown on (001) surfaces of GaAs and Al0.25Ga0.75 A at 450 °C, scanning tunneling microscope images show that the size of quantum dots varied slightly for 10 ML of In0.5Ga0.5As grown on GaAs and Al0.25Ga0.75As surfaces. Reflection high energy electron diffraction (RHEED) is used to monitor the growth of 4 monolayers (ML) In0.5Ga0.5As on Al0.25Ga0.75As and GaAs surfaces during deposition. The critical thickness is theoretically calculated by adding energy caused by surface roughness and heat from substrate. The calculations show that the critical thickness of In0.5Ga0.5As grown on GaAs and Al0.25Ga0.75As are 3.2 ML and 3.8 ML, respectively. The theoretical calculation agrees with the experimental results.

Robust Segmentation for Low Quality Cell Images from Blood and Bone Marrow

Chen Pan,Yi Fang,Xiang-guo Yan,Chong-xun Zheng 대한전기학회 2006 International Journal of Control, Automation, and Vol.4 No.5

Biomedical image is often complex. An applied image analysis system should deal with the images which are of quite low quality and are challenging to segment. This paper presents a framework for color cell image segmentation by learning and classification online. It is a robust two-stage scheme using kernel method and watershed transform. In first stage, a two-class SVM is employed to discriminate the pixels of object from background; where the SVM is trained on the data which has been analyzed using the mean shift procedure. A real-time training strategy is also developed for SVM. In second stage, as the post-processing, local watershed transform is used to separate clustering cells. Comparison with the SSF (Scale space filter) and classical watershed-based algorithm (those are often employed for cell image segmentation) is given. Experimental results demonstrate that the new method is more accurate and robust than compared methods.

Microwave absorption and photocatalytic activity of MgxZn1−x ferrite/diatomite composites

        Guo Wanmi,Wang Sulei,Ren Qifang,Jin Zhen,Ding Yi,Xiong Chun-Yu,Li Jinpeng,Chen Jing,Zhu Yuelei,오원춘 한국세라믹학회 2022 한국세라믹학회지 Vol.59 No.2

Mg x Zn 1−x ferrite/diatomite composites were synthesized by a two-step combination process (hydrothermal method and mechanical mixing method). The products were characterized by X-ray diff raction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Fourier transform infrared (FTIR), UV–visible absorption spectrum (UV–Vis), X-ray photoelectron spectroscope (XPS), and microwave vector network analyzer. The photocatalytic results showed that the degradation rate of Rhodamine B (RhB) was 50–90% after 90 min of visible light. At 2–18 GHz frequency, when the Mg–Zn ratio increases to 0.8, the refl ection loss of a single MgxZn 1−x ferrite reaches − 7.23 dB at 8.75 GHz frequency in 3.5 mm thickness while the ratio is 0.2, the refl ection loss at 10.23 GHz reaches − 4.07 dB. The photocatalytic performance of Mgx Zn 1−x ferrite /diatomite composite for the degradation of RhB and its microwave absorption performance as absorbent are studied. The importance of developing new functional coatings to improve human environment is discussed.

IRS-2 Partially Compensates for the Insulin Signal Defects in IRS-1−/−Mice Mediated by miR-33

        Chen-Yi Tang,Xiao-Fei Man,Yue Guo,Hao-Neng Tang,Jun Tang,Ci-La Zhou,Shu-Wen Tan,Min Wang,Hou-De Zhou 한국분자세포생물학회 2017 Molecules and cells Vol.40 No.2

Insulin signaling is coordinated by insulin receptor substrates (IRSs). Many insulin responses, especially for blood glucose metabolism, are mediated primarily through Irs-1 and Irs-2. Irs-1 knockout mice show growth retardation and insulin signaling defects, which can be compensated by other IRSs in vivo; however, the underlying mechanism is not clear. Here, we presented an Irs-1 truncated mutated mouse (Irs-1−/−) with growth retardation and subcutaneous adipocyte atrophy. Irs-1−/− mice exhibited mild insulin resistance, as demonstrat-ed by the insulin tolerance test. Phosphatidylino-sitol 3-kinase (PI3K) activity and phosphorylated Protein Kinase B (PKB/AKT) expression were elevated in liver, skeletal muscle, and subcu-taneous adipocytes in Irs-1 deficiency. In addition, the expression of IRS-2 and its phosphorylated version were clearly elevated in liver and skeletal muscle. With miRNA microarray analysis, we found miR-33 was down-regulated in bone marrow stromal cells (BMSCs) of Irs-1−/− mice, while its target gene Irs-2 was up-regulated in vitro studies. In addition, miR-33 was down-regulated in the presence of Irs-1 and which was up-regulated in fasting status. What’s more, miR-33 restored its expression in re-feeding status. Meanwhile, miR-33 levels decreased and Irs-2 levels increased in liver, skeletal muscle, and subcutaneous adipocytes of Irs-1−/− mice. In primary cultured liver cells transfected with an miR-33 inhibitor, the expression of IRS-2, PI3K, and phosphorylated-AKT (p-AKT) increased while the opposite results were observed in the presence of an miR-33 mimic. Therefore, decreased miR-33 levels can up-regulate IRS-2 expression, which appears to compensate for the defects of the insulin signaling pathway in Irs-1 deficient mice.
