The collected training data often include both normal and faulty samples for complex chemical processes. However, some monitoring methods, such as partial least squares (PLS), principal component analysis (PCA), indepen-dent component analysis (ICA) and Fisher discriminant analysis (FDA), require fault-free data to build the normal op-eration model. These techniques are applicable after the preliminary step of data clustering is applied. We here proposea novel hyperplane distance neighbor clustering (HDNC) based on the local discriminant analysis (LDA) for chemicalprocess monitoring. First, faulty samples are separated from normal ones using the HDNC method. Then, the optimalsubspace for fault detection and classification can be obtained using the LDA approach. The proposed method takesthe multimodality within the faulty data into account, and thus improves the capability of process monitoring signifi-cantly. The HDNC-LDA monitoring approach is applied to two simulation processes and then compared with the con-ventional FDA based on the K-nearest neighbor (KNN-FDA) method. The results obtained in two different scenariosdemonstrate the superiority of the HDNC-LDA approach in terms of fault detection and classification accuracy.

The influence of the atmospheric radon background on the airborne gamma spectrum can seriously affect researchers’ judgement of ground radiation information. However, due to load and endurance, unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV)-borne gamma-ray spectrometry is difficulty installing upward-looking detectors to monitor atmospheric radon background. In this paper, an advanced spectral-ratio method was used to correct the atmospheric radon background for a UAV-borne gamma-ray spectrometry in Inner Mongolia, China. By correcting atmospheric radon background, the ratio of the average count rate of U window in the anomalous radon zone (S5) to that in other survey zone decreased from 1.91 to 1.03, and the average uranium content in S5 decreased from 4.65 mg/kg to 3.37 mg/kg. The results show that the advanced spectral-ratio method efficiently eliminated the influence of the atmospheric radon background on the UAV-borne gamma-ray spectrometry to accurately obtain ground radiation information in uranium exploration. It can also be used for uranium tailings monitoring, and environmental radiation background surveys

The four-arm star copolymers poly(methacrylic acid)-poly(2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate-disulfide~)-poly(poly(ethylene glycol) methyl ether methacrylate) (4AS-PMAAx-(PHEMA-SS~)y-PPEGMAz) with four different block ratios were synthesized and could self-assembled into cross-linked polymer micelles for the exploration of the structure-property relationship. The cross-linked polymer micelles in aqueous solution had low critical micelle concentration (CMC) values (1.9-4.6 mg/L), which exhibited better stability than non-cross-linked micelles. The CMC value decreased with the increase of the length of inner PMAA core and hydrophobic PHEMA cross-linked middle layer. The blank and doxorubicin (DOX)- loaded micelles with different block ratios were prepared by dialysis with the particle sizes of 120-240 nm. The longer inner PMAA core and cross-linked middle layer enhanced the drug loading content (DLC) results and led to relatively bigger particle sizes of polymer micelles. The in vitro DOX release data revealed that DOX-loaded micelles had low DOX cumulative release percentages of 18-37% after 110 h at pH 7.4, but up to 83-90% when introducing reductant GSH at pH 5.0. The 4AS-PMAA21.2-(PHEMASS~) 13.1-PPEGMA5.1 micelles with the longest PMAA core had the largest cumulative release of 90.1%. The DOX release process and mechanism of the micelles at different conditions fitted well with the semi-empirical equation. Overall, the results demonstrated that the block ratios and pH/redox-responsiveness of these four-arm star copolymers could be well-controlled and their self-assembled cross-linked micelles as anticancer drug carrier system could be improved by optimizing the different ratios.
A Continuous Regional Current-Voltage Model for Short-channel Double-gate MOSFETs

A continuous, explicit drain-current equation for short-channel double-gate (DG) MOSFETs has been derived based on the explicit surface potential equation. The model is physically derived from Poisson’s equation in each region of operation and adopted in the unified regional approach. The proposed model has been verified with numerical solutions, physically scalable with channel length and gate/oxide materials as well as oxide/channel thicknesses.

Ameloblastoma in the tibia is rare. Limb reconstruction after tumor resection is challenging in terms of selection of the operativemethod. Here, we report a case of radical resection of an ameloblastoma in the mid-distal tibia combined with limb salvage usinga three-dimensional (3D)-printed prosthesis replacement, with 1-year follow-up results. After receiving local institutional reviewboard approval, a titanium alloy prosthesis was designed using a computer and manufactured with 3D-printing technology. Duringthe operation, the stem of the prosthesis was inserted closely into the proximal tibial medullary cavity. Then, the metal anklemortise and the talus were compacted closely. Radiographic results at 1-year follow up showed that the prosthesis was wellplaced, and no loosening was observed. The Musculoskeletal Tumor Society (MSTS) 93 functional score was 26 points, and thefunctional recovery percentage was 86.7%. Computer-assisted 3D-printing technology allowed for more volume and structuralcompatibility of the prosthesis, thereby ensuring a smooth operation and initial prosthetic stabilization. During the follow up, thepresence of bone ingrowths on the porous surface of some segments of the prosthesis suggested good outcomes for long-term biologicalintegration between the prosthesis and host bone.
Adaptive Weight Collaborative Complementary Learning for Robust Visual Tracking

Discriminative correlation filter (DCF) based tracking algorithms have recently shown impressive performance on benchmark datasets. However, amount of recent researches are vulnerable to heavy occlusions, irregular deformations and so on. In this paper, we intend to solve these problems and handle the contradiction between accuracy and real-time in the framework of tracking-by-detection. Firstly, we propose an innovative strategy to combine the template and color-based models instead of a simple linear superposition and rely on the strengths of both to promote the accuracy. Secondly, to enhance the discriminative power of the learned template model, the spatial regularization is introduced in the learning stage to penalize the objective boundary information corresponding to features in the background. Thirdly, we utilize a discriminative multi-scale estimate method to solve the problem of scale variations. Finally, we research strategies to limit the computational complexity of our tracker. Abundant experiments demonstrate that our tracker performs superiorly against several advanced algorithms on both the OTB2013 and OTB2015 datasets while maintaining the high frame rates.
