Tumor localization is challenging in the context of ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS) treated with breast-conserving surgery. Conventional localization methods are generally performed under the guidance of ultrasonography or mammography and are rarely performed with magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), which is more sensitive than the aforementioned modalities in detecting DCIS. Here, we report the application of MRI-based individualized 3-dimensional (3D)-printed breast surgical guides (BSGs) for patients with breast cancer. We successfully resected indeterminate and suspicious lesions that were only detected using preoperative MRI, and the final histopathologic results confirmed DCIS with clear resection margins. MRI guidance combined with 3D-printed BSGs can be used for DCIS localization, especially for lesions easily detectable using MRI only.

Tumor localization in patients receiving neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NACT) is challenging because substantial therapeutic remission of the original tumor after NACT is often noted. Currently, there is no guidance device that allows for an accurate estimation of the resection range in breast-conserving surgery after NACT. To increase the accuracy of tumor resection, we used a 3-dimensional-printed breast surgical guide based on magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) in the supine position for a breast cancer patient who underwent breast-conserving surgery after NACT. Using this device, the breast tumor with apparent therapeutic changes after NACT on imaging was successfully removed with clear resection margins by identifying the original tumor site in the affected breast. Irrespective of whether the residual tumor area after NACT is well defined, it is possible to confirm and target the tumor area on pre-NACT MRI using this device.

Background/Aims: The involvement of long noncoding RNAs in the carcinogenesis of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) has been well documented by substantial evidence. However, whether cytoskeleton regulator RNA (CYTOR) could affect the progression of HCC remains unclear. Methods: The relative expression of CYTOR, miR-125a-5p and HS1-associated protein X-1 (HAX-1) mRNA in HCC cells were determined via quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction. The viability of treated HCC cells was measured by Cell Counting Kit-8 assay. Cell apoptosis was estimated by flow cytometry analysis, assessment of caspase-9 activity and terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase dUTP nick-end labeling staining, and Western blot of apoptosis-related proteins. The interplay between CYTOR or HAX-1 and miR-125a-5p was validated by dual-luciferase reporter assay. Results: CYTOR was upregulated and miR-125a-5p was downregulated in HCC cells. CYTOR silencing inhibited cell proliferation and promoted cell apoptosis in HepG2 and SMMC-7721 cells. miR-125a-5p was sponged and negatively regulated by CYTOR, and HAX-1 was directly targeted and negatively modulated by miR-125a-5p. Overexpression of miR-125a-5p enhanced the repressive effects of CYTOR knockdown on HCC cells, and knockdown of HAX-1 enhanced the inhibitory effects of miR-125a-5p mimics on HCC cells. Conclusions: CYTOR silencing facilitates HCC cell apoptosis in vitro via the miR-125a-5p/HAX-1 axis.

A new long-span space grid structure system, “single-layer folded space grid” (SFSG), is applied in the Shenzhen Universiade Stadium. Compared with regular single-layer grid, the out-of plane stiffness and bearing capacity of the structure is improved with bending and uplifting of the structural units in SFSG, and the span capacity of the structure is then enhanced. Because of the large structural dimension, the construction process including assembling, closure and brace-unloading should be divided into many stages. As a result, there is very strong time-dependent effect for the structural stress state in construction. In this paper, based on matrix mechanics model of space grid structures, a time-dependent analysis method considering temperature variation during construction is presented based on matrix mechanics model to optimize the closure scheme. A combined brace element is presented to accurately simulate the mechanic character of temporary braces. In this way, the whole construction process of assembling, closure and brace-unloading are effectively and accurately analyzed for the SFSG structure of Shenzhen Universiade Stadium. The displacement state, stress distribution, and force changes in temporary braces are obtained to provide instruction for the design and control of construction process.

Ground vibrations caused by the construction of impact drilling piles may affect adjacent bridges, so corresponding prediction and monitoring are necessary to ensure the safety of bridges. In this study, the construction near an existing long-span double-convex arch bridge is taken as a case study to investigate different layouts of construction machines emanating harmful ground vibrations to the existing adjacent bridge by numerical simulations and monitoring. The peak acceleration and velocity acquired from numerical simulations, and monitoring were successfully used to implement impact drilling pile construction near the existing bridge. The results show that there are good consistencies between the monitoring and numerical simulation results, and the vibration acceleration of the foundation of abutments and piers are mainly derived from the vibration caused by the construction within a distance of 50 m, while the construction beyond 50 m has little effect on the old bridge. The numbers and locations of machines near the same foundation may have a weakening or strengthening effect on the peak acceleration and velocity due to destructive and constructive interference of waves, which can help to control the effects of the vibrations of the existing adjacent bridge.

With the rapid development of processing technology, the demand for precision, durability and NVH performance of processing machinery has also increased. This paper presents an optimally designed gear train composed of a set each of spiral bevel gears and spur gears to serve as a high precision rotating unit for processing machinery. The safety of each component used in the rotating unit gear train was verified using the geometry method and empirical formulae. The load contact pattern and PPTE value, which is an important indicator of the gear whine characteristic, were optimized using micro geometry modifications. In addition, the transfer efficiency of the entire gear train was determined and a novel dynamic analysis based on the comparison of the dynamic transmission error and the modal flexibility was performed to verify the correctness of the geometry design.

Yu Chen,Ling Tao,Bin Dai,Mingde Yang,Zhen Chen,Xiaoyan Zhu,Yulong Wu 한국공업화학회 2010 Journal of Industrial and Engineering Chemistry Vol.16 No.5
Mnmodified SAPO-11 (Mn-SAPO-11), Zn-SAPO-11, Mn-SAPO-34 and Zn-SAPO-34 were first synthesized with hydrothermal method in the laboratory. Dehydration of ethanol to ethylene over SAPO-11, SAPO-34and four materials above as catalysts was carried out and Mn-SAPO-34 exhibited the best conversion and selectivity (99.35% and 98.44%, respectively) at 340 8C. The introduction of Mn2+ or Zn2+ into the SAPO channel generated in Mn-SAPO or Zn-SAPO samples was proved by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and nitrogen adsorption. NH3-TPD study revealed that modification of Mn2+or Zn2+ in the SAPO framework led to increase the weak acid strength and give rise to weak acid sites. The effects of operation parameters, such as loading amount, modification methods, reaction time, reaction temperature, mass space velocity and concentration of ethanol have also been investigated experimentally. 2010 The Korean Society of Industrial and Engineering Chemistry. Advancement of Mechanical Engineering in Extreme Environments
Zhen Qin,Yu-Ting Wu,Amre Eizad,Sung-Ki Lyu,이춘만 한국정밀공학회 2021 International Journal of Precision Engineering and Vol.8 No.6
With the continuing increase in the use of technology in the modern world, the environmental demands placed on mechanical products have become increasingly harsh, especially in the fields of industrial equipment, vehicles, robotics, medical equipment, and weapons . For the development of mechanical engineering, it is essential to ensure reliable performance, high efficiency, and long durability in extreme environments (extremes of temperature, pressure, corrosion, vibration, etc. ). The mechanical properties of the materials used to manufacture the components directly influence the component’s characteristics in extreme environments. Mechanical design and manufacturing processes are also key factors that affect the reliability of mechanisms. With the development of composite materials, computer technology, and the 4th industrial revolution, extreme environment technology has also progressed rapidly. Engineering for extreme environments is considered as a very important field in the green and environmental-friendly technology. This is because the shortened working life of machinery under such extremely harsh environments leads to higher energy consumption and more non-recyclable wastes. This paper reviews the developments related to novel extreme environment technologies in terms of materials, design, and manufacturing that have come about in recent years. Moreover, an analysis of related articles, patents, and the economy of this field is carried out and a perspective on the developmental trend is put forward.
A Novel Form Analysis Method Considering Pretension Process for Suspen-dome Structures
Zhen Zhou,Yu-long Feng,Shao-ping Meng,Jing Wu 대한토목학회 2014 KSCE JOURNAL OF CIVIL ENGINEERING Vol.18 No.5
Suspen-dome is a kind of new prestressed space grid structure which is formed by combing a single-layer reticulated shell andtensegrity system. For the existence of lower flexible cable-strut system, form analysis is crucial for the mechanical performance ofsuspen-domes. This paper develops a novel form analysis method considering the influence of pretension process for suspen-domestructures. Some definitions of form analysis for suspen-dome structures are first expounded. Then an iterative method is presentedfor form analysis, and a sequential analysis method is proposed for pretension process simulation. By combining these two methods,a form analysis method considering pretension process is constructed for suspen-dome structures. Two examples are employed toverify the proposed method. Numerical example results show that both the error of nodal coordinates and cable forces can stablyconverge to set tolerances. According to a scheduled pretension scheme, form analysis results can accurately achieve the expectedinitial state. Engineering example results show that without considering the influence of pretension process, the form analysis wouldbe error and the final state after all cables tensioned deviates greatly from the expected initial state. However, this can be achievedaccurately through the proposed method in this paper.
