Occurrence assessment of earth fissure based on genetic algorithms and artificial neural networks in Su-Xi-Chang land subsidence area, China

        Wenjing Zhang,Li Gao,Xun Jiao,Jun Yu,Xiaosi Su,Shanghai Du 한국지질과학협의회 2014 Geosciences Journal Vol.18 No.4

Earth fissures in Su-Xi-Chang land subsidence areahave induced massive damages to the area. The non-linear characteristicassociated with the process of earth fissure formation requiresnon-linear method for evaluating the occurrence of the hazard. Based on quantification of influence factors on breeding the hazard,GA-ANN method, which integrates artificial neural networks(ANN) with genetic algorithms (GA), is developed for evaluating theoccurrence of earth fissure hazard. Six indicators, that include thedepth of bedrock burial (DBB), the degree of bedrock relief (DBR),water level (WL) (the II confined aquifer), the gradient of landsubsidence (GLS), transmissivity (T) (the II confined aquifer) andthe thickness of clay soil (TCS), are selected as the input patternsof the integrated approach, and danger index (DI) as the outputpattern. A multilayer back-propagation neural network is trainedwith 30 sets of data samples including 15 sets of earth fissure samplesand 15 sets of safety samples for defining the architecture ofANN. Subsequently, GA is employed by optimizing the initial weightsof trained ANN by minimizing the deviation of output. The efficacy ofthe integrated approach is demonstrated by comparing the deviationof output from ANN and GA-ANN for 5 testing samples andthe result shows that the GA-ANN method is more accurate thanANN in identifying the occurrence of earth fissure. The integratedmethod is applied to the assessment of earth fissure hazard in typicalregions of earth fissure. According to the classification of DI, theregions are divided into four zones ‒ danger zone, sub-danger zone,sub-safe zone and safe zone.

      • A Novel Fluid-Reconfigurable Advanced and Delayed Phase Line Using Inkjet-Printed Microfluidic Composite Right/Left-Handed Transmission Line

Sungjin Choi,Wenjing Su,Tentzeris, Manos M.,Sungjoon Lim IEEE 2015 IEEE microwave and wireless components letters Vol.25 No.2

<P>In this letter, a novel fluid-reconfigurable advanced and delayed phase line using a microfluidic composite right/left-handed (CRLH) transmission line (TL) is proposed. A CRLH-TL prototype is inkjet-printed on a photo-paper substrate. In addition, a laser-etched microfluidic channel in poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) is integrated with the CRLH TL using inkjet-printed SU-8 as a bonding material. The proposed TL provides excellent phase-tuning capability that is dependent on the fluidic materials used. As the fluid is changed, the proposed TL can have negative-, zero-, and positive-phase characteristics at 900 MHz for different fluids. The performance of the TL is successfully validated using simulation and measurement results.</P>

        A High-Efficiency Bidirectional AC/DC Topology for V2G Applications

Su, Mei,Li, Hua,Sun, Yao,Xiong, Wenjing The Korean Institute of Power Electronics 2014 JOURNAL OF POWER ELECTRONICS Vol.14 No.5

This paper proposes a single-phase bidirectional AC/DC converter topology applied in V2G systems, which consists of an inverter and a bidirectional non-inverting buck-boost converter. This topology can operate in four modes: buck charging, boost charging, buck discharging and boost discharging with high input current quality and unity input power factor. The inverter switches at line frequency, which is different from conventional voltage source inverters. A bidirectional buck-boost converter is utilized to adapt to a wider charging voltage range. The modulation and control strategy is introduced in detail, and the switching patterns are optimized to reduce the current ripple. In addition, the semiconductor losses are analyzed. Simulation and experimental results demonstrate the validity and effectiveness of the proposed topology.

      • Tea seed saponin(TSS) improve lipid metabolism and oxidative stress in high fat diet(HFD)-induced obese mice

        Shuang Liu,Huishan Qin,Yanmin Su,Jiali Li,Wenjing Cao,Wen He,Zhen Zeng,Qi Qi Pang,Jia-Le Song 한국식품영양과학회 2021 한국식품영양과학회 학술대회발표집 Vol.2021 No.10

To investigate the effect of TSS on lipid metabolism and oxidative stress in HFD mice. The body weight and food intake were observed. The serum SOD, MDA, GSH, TC, TG, HDL-C, LDL-C were determined by kits. Western Blotting was used to detect the levels of PPAR-γ, AMPK, SIRT1 and PGC-1α. TSS treatment reduced the body weight, Lee"s index and fat organ indices of mice in the HFD group. Compared with the control(CON) group, the serum TC, TG and LDL-C in the HFD group were increased, Administrated with TSS can improve abnormal blood lipid levels. Compared with the CON group, the serum SOD level in HFD group was significantly reduced(P<0.05), and MDA level was increased; while the levels of serum MDA in the TSS group decreased and SOD level increased. The pathological sections showed that TSS could improve the degree of hepatic steatosis. TSS also increased the levels of PPAR-γ, AMPK, SIRT1 and PGC-1α, and the effect of the high-dose group was the most significant. TSS can reduce body weight and fat accumulation, improve lipid metabolism disorder and oxidative stress caused by HFD.

Dual-Responsive Cross-Linked Micelles from Amphiphilic Four-Arm Star Copolymers with Different Block Ratios for Triggering DOX Release

        Yunwei Huang,Yanzhe Li,Zilun Tang,Qiuping Su,Tingting Liao,Yuxin Gu,Xiaofeng Lin,Xihong Zu,Wenjing Lin,Guobin Yi 한국고분자학회 2020 Macromolecular Research Vol.28 No.8

The four-arm star copolymers poly(methacrylic acid)-poly(2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate-disulfide~)-poly(poly(ethylene glycol) methyl ether methacrylate) (4AS-PMAAx-(PHEMA-SS~)y-PPEGMAz) with four different block ratios were synthesized and could self-assembled into cross-linked polymer micelles for the exploration of the structure-property relationship. The cross-linked polymer micelles in aqueous solution had low critical micelle concentration (CMC) values (1.9-4.6 mg/L), which exhibited better stability than non-cross-linked micelles. The CMC value decreased with the increase of the length of inner PMAA core and hydrophobic PHEMA cross-linked middle layer. The blank and doxorubicin (DOX)- loaded micelles with different block ratios were prepared by dialysis with the particle sizes of 120-240 nm. The longer inner PMAA core and cross-linked middle layer enhanced the drug loading content (DLC) results and led to relatively bigger particle sizes of polymer micelles. The in vitro DOX release data revealed that DOX-loaded micelles had low DOX cumulative release percentages of 18-37% after 110 h at pH 7.4, but up to 83-90% when introducing reductant GSH at pH 5.0. The 4AS-PMAA21.2-(PHEMASS~) 13.1-PPEGMA5.1 micelles with the longest PMAA core had the largest cumulative release of 90.1%. The DOX release process and mechanism of the micelles at different conditions fitted well with the semi-empirical equation. Overall, the results demonstrated that the block ratios and pH/redox-responsiveness of these four-arm star copolymers could be well-controlled and their self-assembled cross-linked micelles as anticancer drug carrier system could be improved by optimizing the different ratios.

Recent Developments in the Use of Intralesional Injections Keloid Treatment

        Perdanasari, Aurelia Trisliana,Lazzeri, Davide,Su, Weijie,Xi, Wenjing,Zheng, Zhang,Ke, Li,Min, Peiru,Feng, Shaoqing,Zhang, Yixin,Persichetti, Paolo Korean Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surge 2014 Archives of Plastic Surgery Vol.41 No.6

Keloid scars are often considered aesthetically unattractive and frustrating problems that occur following injuries. They cause functional and cosmetic deformities, displeasure, itching, pain, and psychological stress and possibly affect joint movement. The combination of these factors ultimately results in a compromised quality of life and diminished functional performance. Various methods have been implemented to improve keloid scars using both surgical and non-surgical approaches. However, it has proven to be a challenge to identify a universal treatment that can deliver optimal results for all types of scars. Through a PubMed search, we explored most of the literature that is available about the intralesional injection treatment of hypertrophic scars and keloids and highlights both current (corticosteroid, 5-fluorouracil, bleomycin, interferon, cryotherapy and verapamil) and future treatments (interleukin-10 and botulinum toxin type A). The reference lists of retrieved articles were also analysed. Information was gathered about the mechanism of each injection treatment, its benefits and associated adverse reactions, and possible strategies to address adverse reactions to provide reliable guidelines for determining the optimal treatment for particular types of keloid scars. This article will benefit practitioners by outlining evidence-based treatment strategies using intralesional injections for patients with hypertrophic scars and keloids.

Weighting factor design based on SVR–MOPSO for finite set MPC operated power electronic converters

        Yonglu Liu,Zhengmao Yang,Xubin Liu,Hanbing Dan,Wenjing Xiong,Tao Ling,Mei Su 전력전자학회 2022 JOURNAL OF POWER ELECTRONICS Vol.22 No.7

Selecting weighting factors is a challenge for the finite set model predictive control (FS-MPC). Based on the support vector regression (SVR) algorithm and the multi-objective particle swarm optimization (MOPSO) algorithm, this paper proposes a new weighting factor design principle. SVR is used to establish the functional relationship between the input weighting factors and the output performance indexes (such as the average switching frequency (fsw) and the total harmonic distortion of the output voltage). Even in the case of small samples, this can provide accurate performance index estimates for any combination of weighting factors. The established SVR function is taken as the fitness function. Then, MOPSO is used to search for Pareto optimal weighting factor combinations. The proposed method can converge in a few steps and does not require tedious calculations. Moreover, it is applicable to optimization problem with two or more weighting factors for arbitrary topology models. It also provides a range of optimal weighting factor solution sets. Finally, the proposed methodology is verified on a practical weighting factor design problem in a FS-MPC regulated voltage source inverter. Experimental results confirm the correctness of the theoretical analysis.
