There is a problem which is large manpower consumption on contract sweet potato field when measure the soil moisture, control weeds, pests and diseases currently. In addition, serious problems of aging and labor shortage are especially troublesome in domestic rural areas. Therefore, we develop a management system combined sensor, single-chip control module and real-time irrigation module to meet the needs. Throughout the wireless signal transmission, the management of operating system with instant control and output data achieves intelligent control. At present, the system has been able to collect moisture data from field and to do the corresponding treatment immediately. At the same time, upload the data to cloud, then we can monitor field in real-time. With the establishment of the database, we have been to achieve long-term or short-term analysis and management. We really hope that the result can enhance the intelligence of agricultural technology, increase farmers profits, sustain development of agriculture and keep competitiveness.

      • Pyogenic Liver Abscess as a Warning Sign for Primary Liver Cancer: A Nationwide Population-based Study

        Huang, Wen-Kuan,Lin, Yung-Chang,Chiou, Meng-Jiun,Yang, Tsai-Sheng,Chang, John Wen-Cheng,Yu, Kuang-Hui,Kuo, Chang-Fu,See, Lai-Chu Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2013 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.14 No.8

Background: There have been no large-scale population-based studies to estimate the subsequent risk of primary liver cancer (PLC) among patients with pyogenic liver abscess (PLA). This study aimed to provide relevant data. Materials and Methods: The Taiwan Longitudinal Health Insurance Database for the years 2000 and 2005 was used. The PLA group were adult inpatients who were newly diagnosed with PLA from 2000 to 2008. The control group was randomly selected and matched with the PLA group in terms of age, sex, and date in which medical treatment was sought other than for PLA. Results: There were 1,987 patients each in the PLA and control groups. In total, 56 had PLC, 48 (2.4%, 601.5 per 100,000 person-years) from the PLA group, and 8 from the control group. After adjusting for potential covariates, the hazard ratio of PLC for the PLA group was 3.4 times that of the control group (95% confidence interval = 1.6-7.3, p <0.001). The PLC risk for the PLA group was significantly higher within the first year after PLA diagnosis (hazard ratio: 35.4) as compared with the control group and became insignificant (hazard ratio: 2.0, 95% confidence interval = 0.8-4.9) more than one year after PLA diagnosis. Conclusions: Patients with PLA have a higher rate of PLC than matched controls, especially within the first year after the diagnosis of PLA, suggesting PLA is a warning sign for PLC.

Examine the moderating role of mobile technology anxiety in mobile learning: a modified model of goal-directed behavior

        Huang, Rui-Ting,Jabor, Mohd Khata,Tang, Tzy-Wen,Chang, Sheng-Chun 서울대학교 교육연구소 2022 Asia Pacific Education Review Vol.23 No.1

Although there are numerous mobile learning studies, limited efforts have been devoted to investigating the moderating role of mobile technology anxiety on mobile learning outcome. Accordingly, the primary purpose of this study is not only to examine the key elements that could influence desire to take mobile learning and mobile learning continuance intention, but also to explore the moderating impact of mobile technology anxiety on mobile learning outcome. 676 college students participated in this study, and the partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) analysis was performed to analyze the data. The study findings have demonstrated that desire to take mobile learning, attitude toward mobile learning, and perceived usefulness are positively linked to mobile learning continuance intention. Second, it has been found that attitude, positive anticipated emotion, negative anticipated emotion, and subjective norm play a key role in determining better desire to take mobile learning, whereas perceived behavioral control has no impact on desire to take mobile learning. Additionally, it has been shown that perceived usefulness, and personal learning initiative are two critical antecedents of attitude toward mobile learning. Finally, the study findings have shown that mobile technology anxiety would moderate the relationship between attitude toward mobile learning and mobile learning continuance intention.

      • TGF-β1 Protein Expression in Non-Small Cell Lung Cancers is Correlated with Prognosis

        Huang, Ai-Li,Liu, Shu-Guang,Qi, Wen-Juan,Zhao, Yun-Fei,Li, Yu-Mei,Lei, Bin,Sheng, Wen-Jie,Shen, Hong Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2014 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.15 No.19

To investigate the expression intensity and prognostic significance of TGF-${\beta}1$ protein in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), immunohistochemistry was carried out in 194 cases of NSCLC and 24 cases of normal lung tissues by SP methods. The PU (positive unit) value was used to assess the TGF-${\beta}1$ protein expression in systematically selected fields under the microscope with Leica Q500MC image analysis. We found that the TGF-${\beta}1$ PU value was nearly two-fold higher in NSCLC than in normal lung tissues (p=0.000), being associated with TNM stages (p=0.000) and lymph node metastases (p=0.000), but not to patient age, gender, smoking history, tumor differentiation, histological subtype and tumor location (P>0.05). Univariate analysis indicated that patients with high TGF-${\beta}1$ protein expression and lymph node metastases demonstrated a poor prognosis (both p=0.000,). Multivariate analysis showed that TGF-${\beta}1$ protein expression (RR = 2.565, p=0.002) and lymph node metastases (RR=1.874, p=0.030) were also independent prognostic factors. Thus, TGF-${\beta}1$ protein expression may be correlated to oncogenesis and serve as an independent prognostic biomarker for NSCLC.

Comparative Study of Bioactive Constituents in Crude and Processed Glycyrrhizae radix and Their Respective Metabolic Profiles in Gastrointestinal Tract In Vitro by HPLC-DAD and HPLC-ESI/MS Analyses

        Wen-wu Huang,Xiaobo Li,Meng Yue Wang,Hai-ming Shi,Ying Peng,Chong-sheng Peng,Min Zhang,Yue Li,Jing Lu 대한약학회 2012 Archives of Pharmacal Research Vol.35 No.11

Two HPLC methods with diode array detection (HPLC-DAD) and electrospray ionization-mass spectrometry (HPLC-ESI/MS), respectively, were developed to investigate the differences of chemical constituents and their metabolism in gastrointestinal tract in vitro between two decoctions of crude and processed Glycyrrhizae radix. Total of eleven constituents (liquiritin apioside, liquiritin, licuraside, isoliquiritin, ononin, glycyrrhizin, liquiritigenin-7,4'-diglucoside, licorice saponin A3, 22β-acetoxylglycyrrhizic acid, licorice saponin G2, and yunganoside E2) were identified in the two decoctions, whereas lower contents of these constituents were usually found in the decoction of processed G. radix. Furthermore, these constituents were metabolized into their respective aglycons in human intestinal bacteria juice, and the metabolism ratios were all higher in processed G. radix decoction. No change was found in artificial gastric or intestinal juice. This study revealed that the processing can alter the contents of main constituents in crude G. radix and their metabolism in gastrointestinal tract, in which intestinal bacteria play an important role in the metabolism of licorice constituents.

ORiginal Article : Tryptase and Protease-Activated Receptor 2 Expression Levels in Irritable Bowel Syndrome

( Wen Jing Liang ),( Guo Zhang ),( He Sheng Luo ),( Lie Xin Liang ),( Dan Huang ),( Fa Can Zhang ) 대한간학회 2016 Gut and Liver Vol.10 No.3

Background/Aims: Previous studies have revealed that mast cells (MCs) may activate the protease-activated receptors and release of neuropeptides involved in the pathogenesis of irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). The levels of proteaseactivated receptor 2 (PAR-2) and tryptase can contribute to understanding the pathogenesis of IBS. Methods: Colonoscopic biopsies were performed of 38 subjects (20 with IBSdiarrhea [IBS-D], eight with IBS-constipation [IBS-C], and 10 healthy volunteers). The mRNA and protein levels of tryptase and PAR-2 were assessed by real-time PCR and Western blot. The levels of vasoactive intestinal peptide (VIP), substance P (SP), and calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP) were measured by immunohistochemistry, and MCs were counted by toluidine blue staining. Results: Significant increases in the mRNA expression of tryptase (p<0.05, IBS-D, IBS-C vs control) and PAR-2 (p<0.05, IBS-D, IBS-C vs control) and in the tryptase protein level (p<0.05, IBS-D, IBS-C vs control) were detected in IBS. Elevations of MCs, CGRP, VIP and SP (p<0.05, IBS-D vs control) were observed for IBS-D only. Conclusions: Tryptase levels may upregulate the function of PAR- 2, resulting in the release of neuropeptide and they were correlated with clinical symptoms associated with IBS. Huang Chung Ming,Chuang Wen Yang,Lin Wei Chih,Lin Li Jen,Chang Sheng Chang,Lee Tzu Tai 아세아·태평양축산학회 2021 Animal Bioscience Vol.34 No.3

Objective: Wheat bran (WB) was co-fermented with Aspergillus oryzae and phytase (Phy) to determine whether co-fermentation improve WB phosphorus and fiber utilization in Isa-brown layers. Methods: A total of 112 Isa brown layer were randomly divided into 7 treatments with 8 replicates per a treatment and 2 hens per a replicate. The treatments included basal diet (control), basal diet supplemented with 250 unit/kg Phy (control+Phy), diet with 10% WB (10% WB), diet with 5% WB and 250 unit/kg Phy (5% WB+Phy) diet with 10% WB and 250 unit/kg Phy (10% WB+Phy), diet with 5% fermented WB supplemented with molasses and phy (PCFWH) and 125 unit/kg Phy (5% PCFWH), and diet with 10% PCFWH (10% PCFWH). The intestinal microbial population, intestinal morphology, serum antioxidant enzyme activities, and excreta phosphorus content were assessed. Results: In PCFWH, spore counts, protease activity, xylanase activity, and ferulic acid were 8.50 log/g dry matter (DM), 190 unit/g DM, 120 unit/g DM, and 127 μg/g, respectively. Xylobiose and xylotriose were released in PCFWH, while they were not detectable in WB. Antioxidant capacity was also enhanced in PCFWH compared to WB. The 10% WB+Phy and 10% PCFWH groups produced higher egg mass, but hens fed 5% WB+Phy had the lowest amount of feed intake. Eggs from 10% PCFWH had better eggshell weight, eggshell strength, and eggshell thickness. Birds fed with 10% PCFWH also had higher serum superoxide dismutase and catalase activities. Compare to control, 10% PCFWH significantly reduced excreta phosphorus content. Conclusion: Diet inclusion of 10% PCFWH improved egg quality, antioxidant status, and excreta phosphorus content of laying hens. • Hardening steels by the generation of transient phase using additive manufacturing

        Huang, E-Wen,Lee, Soo Yeol,Jain, Jayant,Tong, Yang,An, Ke,Tsou, Nien-Ti,Lam, Tu-Ngoc,Yu, Dunji,Chae, Hobyung,Chen, Shi-Wei,Chen, Shih-Min,Chou, Hung-Sheng Elsevier 2019 Intermetallics Vol.109 No.-

<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>In the present work, the tensile properties of 15–5 PH steel fabricated by selective laser melting (SLM) were examined with respect to the transient austenite phase. Compared with the 8%-transient-phase sample, the 18%-transient-phase one shows higher ultimate tensile strength and relatively low yield strength, as well as hardening behavior. We conducted <I>in-situ</I> neutron-diffraction study to examine the microstructure evolution for mechanistic understanding. After applying the external load, most non-equilibrium, retained austenite in the 8%-transient-phase sample transforms before the yield strength, whereas in the 18%-transient-phase sample only 50% of the austenite transforms. Accompanying with the phase transformation, a decrease in the dislocation density and the dislocation strain energy-assisted phase transformation of the ferrite phase are found in the 8%-transient-phase sample even before yielding, which, however, is not the case in the 18%-transient-phase sample. The study demonstrates the SLM enables tuning the amount of transient-phase ratio and coherency between phases to realize a mechanical property control for additive manufactured steel.</P> <P><B>Highlights</B></P> <P> <UL> <LI> The tensile behavior was examined for 8%- and 18%-transient-phase additive manufacturing steels using in-situ neutron diffraction. </LI> <LI> The 18%-transient-phase sample exhibited higher ultimate tensile strength and low yield strength. </LI> <LI> The 18%-transient-phase specimen with more non-equilibrium γ-phase revealed a more profound strain hardening effect. </LI> </UL> </P>

Impact of the Change in Tick Size on Transaction Costs and Liquidity: An Empirical Investigation of the Taiwan Stock Exchange

        Chin-Sheng Huang,Su-Wen Kuo,Chia-Cheng Chen 한국증권학회 2010 Asia-Pacific Journal of Financial Studies Vol.39 No.4

The minimum price variation on the Taiwan Stock Exchange reduced for most price categories on March 1, 2005. The present paper simultaneously examines the institutional and endogenous impacts of tick size changes on transaction costs, market liquidity, and trading activity. The empirical evidence suggests that following a reduction in tick size, uniform declines are discernible in transaction costs and market liquidity. In particular, those stocks with a larger relative tick size reduction, higher trading volume, and higher order handling cost components have greater reductions in spread and market depth. Moreover, endogenous tick size reductions have an adverse effect on the trading activity for low-price stocks, due to the relative disadvantage in explicit transaction costs. Finally, the present study observes a general diminution in trade size resulting from a reduction in tick size in the Taiwan Stock Exchange. This study attributes plausible rationales to the fact that after tick size reductions, informed traders employ a smaller trade size to hide private information, or front-runners place a smaller trade size to avoid market turbulence.

Assembly of micro/nanomaterials into complex, three-dimensional architectures by compressive buckling

        Xu, Sheng,Yan, Zheng,Jang, Kyung-In,Huang, Wen,Fu, Haoran,Kim, Jeonghyun,Wei, Zijun,Flavin, Matthew,McCracken, Joselle,Wang, Renhan,Badea, Adina,Liu, Yuhao,Xiao, Dongqing,Zhou, Guoyan,Lee, Jungwoo,Chu American Association for the Advancement of Scienc 2015 Science Vol.347 No.6218

<P><B>Popping materials and devices from 2D into 3D</B></P><P>Curved, thin, flexible complex three-dimensional (3D) structures can be very hard to manufacture at small length scales. Xu <I>et al.</I> develop an ingenious design strategy for the microfabrication of complex geometric 3D mesostructures that derive from the out-of-plane buckling of an originally planar structural layout (see the Perspective by Ye and Tsukruk). Finite element analysis of the mechanics makes it possible to design the two 2D patterns, which is then attached to a previously strained substrate at a number of points. Relaxing of the substrate causes the patterned material to bend and buckle, leading to its 3D shape.</P><P><I>Science</I>, this issue p. 154; see also p. 130</P><P>Complex three-dimensional (3D) structures in biology (e.g., cytoskeletal webs, neural circuits, and vasculature networks) form naturally to provide essential functions in even the most basic forms of life. Compelling opportunities exist for analogous 3D architectures in human-made devices, but design options are constrained by existing capabilities in materials growth and assembly. We report routes to previously inaccessible classes of 3D constructs in advanced materials, including device-grade silicon. The schemes involve geometric transformation of 2D micro/nanostructures into extended 3D layouts by compressive buckling. Demonstrations include experimental and theoretical studies of more than 40 representative geometries, from single and multiple helices, toroids, and conical spirals to structures that resemble spherical baskets, cuboid cages, starbursts, flowers, scaffolds, fences, and frameworks, each with single- and/or multiple-level configurations.</P>
