Some things come easily to humans, one of them is the ability to navigate around. This capability of navigation suffers significantly in case of partial or complete blindness, restricting life activity. Advances in the technological landscape have given way to new solutions aiding navigation for the visually impaired. In this paper, we analyze the existing works and identify the challenges of path selection, context awareness, obstacle detection/identification and integration of visual and nonvisual information associated with real-time assisted mobility. In the process, we explore machine learning approaches for robotic path planning, multi constrained optimal path computation and sensor based wearable assistive devices for the visually impaired. It is observed that the solution to problem is complex and computationally intensive and significant effort is required towards the development of richer and comfortable paths for safe and smooth navigation of visually impaired people. We cannot overlook to explore more effective strategies of acquiring surrounding information towards autonomous mobility.

In the area of data fusion, dealing with heterogeneous data sources, numerous models have been proposed in last three decades to facilitate different application domains i.e. Department of Defense (DoD), monitoring of complex machinery, medical diagnosis and smart buildings. All of these models shared the theme of multiple levels processing to get more reliable and accurate information. In this paper, we consider five most widely acceptable fusion models (Intelligence Cycle, Joint Directors of Laboratories, Boyd control, Waterfall, Omnibus) applied to different areas for data fusion. When they are exposed to a real scenario, where large dataset from heterogeneous sources is utilize for object monitoring, then it may leads us to non-efficient and unreliable information for decision making. The proposed variation works better in terms of time and accuracy due to prior data diminution.

The Wireless sensor networks (WSN) continuously generates large volumes of raw data which own natural heterogeneity. These networks are normally application specific with no sharing or reusability of sensor data among applications. In order for applications and services to be developed independently of particular network, sensor data need to be available in more standardized form. In this paper, we propose Architecture for Sensory data management. This Extensible Markup Language (XML) oriented architecture allows the sensor data to be understood and processed in a meaningful way by a variety of applications with different purposes. We developed a middle layer which performs transformation on raw sensory data to XML and vice versa.

Background WRKY proteins play a vital role in the regulation of several imperative plant metabolic processes and pathways, especially under biotic and abiotic stresses. Although WRKY genes have been characterized in various major crop plants, their identification and characterization in pulse legumes is still in its infancy. Chickpea (Cicer arietinum L.) is the most important pulse legume grown in arid and semi-arid tropics. Objective In silico identification and characterization of WRKY transcription factor-encoding genes in chickpea genome. Methods For this purpose, a systematic genome-wide analysis was carried out to identify the non-redundant WRKY transcription factors in the chickpea genome. Results We have computationally identified 70 WRKY-encoding non-redundant genes which were randomly distributed on all the chickpea chromosomes except chromosome 8. The evolutionary phylogenetic analysis classified the WRKY proteins into three major groups (I, II and III) and seven sub-groups (IN, IC, IIa, IIb, IIc, IId and IIe). The gene structure analysis revealed the presence of 2–7 introns among the family members. Along with the presence of absolutely conserved signatory WRKY domain, 19 different domains were also found to be conserved in a group-specific manner. Insights of gene duplication analysis revealed the predominant role of segmental duplications for the expansion of WRKY genes in chickpea. Purifying selection seems to be operated during the evolution and expansion of paralogous WRKY genes. The transcriptome data-based in silico expression analysis revealed the differential expression of CarWRKY genes in root and shoot tissues under salt, drought, and cold stress conditions. Moreover, some of these genes showed identical expression pattern under these stresses, revealing the possibility of involvement of these genes in conserved abiotic stress–response pathways. Conclusion This genome-wide computational analysis will serve as a base to accelerate the functional characterization of WRKY TFs especially under biotic and abiotic stresses.
Bargaining based Design Mechanism for delay sensitive tasks of mobile crowdsensing in IoT
Ahmad Waqas,Ullah Ata,Sheharyar,Jhanjhi N.Z.,Ghoniem Rania M.,Brohi Sarfraz Nawaz 한국통신학회 2024 ICT Express Vol.10 No.1
Internet of Things (IoT) is getting growing interest to offer great opportunities in combination with Mobile Crowd Sensing for real-time applications. Existing approaches motivate mobile workers (MWs) for approaching the distant locations to receive attractive incentives for traveling. The main question addressed is that a number of tasks remain incomplete out of total al-located tasks. Moreover, the profitability and feasible budget constraints of the platform is also not considered. This paper presents Bargaining based Design Mechanism (BDM) to involve the nearest located MWs to improve the completion of tasks. The main method involves a bargaining based game model that increases the task completion ratio while considering the feasible budget constraint, platform profitability and social welfare. The proposed approach comprises of two algorithms: one for the selection of optimal MWs with low cost and less delay. Second is to organize bargaining for rewarding the platform on social welfare. Our work is validated by developing a testbed on Windows Azure cloud. Results prove that proposed BDM out-performs the counterparts in terms of decay coefficient, task completion ratio, participant’s winning ratio, fraction of task incompletion and social welfare.

Investors from the whole world are looking for those stock markets that are less affected by interest rates. Pakistan is a good place to invest and the investors from the whole world are considering Pakistan for future ventures. The current study, therefore, aims to analyze the factors affecting investors' decision making in Pakistan with the interaction effect of locus of control. The primary data are gathered from 300 respondents. Structural equation modelling (SEM-PLS) is used to analyze the interactions among variables. The study finds positive impact of availability and representative biases on investment decision making. The study could not find any moderating role of locus of control. The results imply that decisions made by Pakistani investors are driven by the most easily or currently available information and they trust on the information obtained from family and friends without any authentication and verification. One possible description of insignificant moderation effect of locus of control can be the sample traits used in the study, e.g., personal characteristics, that change from culture to culture. Another description of these findings may be the association between heuristic biases, including availability, representative and psychological biases and decision-making regarding investment is not personality specific.
