Patient preferences and shared decision making for the traditional Chinese medicine treatment of lung cancer: A discrete choice experiment study

Background: Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), integrating patient preferences into decision-making process, has been widely used in the multimodality therapy of lung cancer. This study aimed to estimate patient preferences for treatment and shared decision-making (SDM) modes concerning inpatient TCM treatment of lung cancer in Shanghai in order to provide a basis for clinical decision-making process on TCM therapy for lung cancer. Methods: This study was conducted among patients (n = 347) from nine tertiary hospitals in Shanghai by discrete-choice experiment (DCE) survey and Shared Decision-Making Questionnaire-patient version (SDM-Q-9) survey. The DCE was developed with the inclusion of the most relevant attributes at appropriate levels for the TCM treatment of lung cancer. The empirical data analyses of patients were performed using mixed logit models. Additionally, subgroup analysis was conducted. Results: In total, 347 respondents completed the questionnaire. All attributes’ coefficients were statistically significant for patients’ preferences. Patients showed strong preferences for increasing disease control rate, relieving nausea and vomiting, reducing the risk of side effects, and were concerned about monthly out-of-pocket costs. Subgroup analysis indicated that patients with a lower SDM-Q-9 score and those who were satisfied with medical services emphasized more importance of higher disease control rate. Furthermore, most of the patients (90.20%) self-reported a high willingness to use SDM during the decision-making process. Conclusion: In Shanghai, patients mainly preferred SDM and considered disease control rate as the most essential attribute in the TCM treatment of lung cancer. The study findings could underscore the importance of considering patients’ preferences and promote SDM.

As a part of R&D work for the high intensity proton linac of China Accelerator Driven Sub-critical System project, a superconducting half-wave cavity with a frequency of 162.5 MHz and an optimal beta of 0.15 (HWR015) has been developed at Institute of Modern Physics (IMP), Chinese Academy of Sciences. In this paper, the design and test results will be described in detail. We introduced a new stiffening strategy for the HWR cavity, the simulation results show that the cavity has much lower frequency sensitivity coefficient (df/dp), Lorentz force detuning coefficient (KL), and can achieve more stable mechanical properties. The performance of the HWR cavity operated in cryostat will be also reported.

Depression and APOEε4 Status in Individuals with Subjective Cognitive Decline: A Meta-Analysis

Objective To evaluate the associative role of depression and apolipoprotein E epsilon 4 allele (APOEε4) in subjective cognitive decline(SCD) and its progression to objective cognitive decline. Methods After literature search in electronic databases, studies were selected by following precise eligibility criteria. Meta-analyses were performed to examine the role of APOEε4 and depression in SCD or its progression to mild cognitive impairment (MCI) or dementia. Results APOEε4 positivity was not different between SCD and normal individuals but was significantly higher in individuals with SCD plus than in normal individuals [odds ratio: 2.39 (95% CI: 1.87, 3.05); p<0.00001] and in SCD converters than in non-converters [odds ratio: 5.19 (95% CI: 2.36, 11.42); p<0.00001]. Depression was significantly higher in individuals with SCD [standardized mean difference: 0.63 (0.45, 0.82); p<0.00001] and SCD plus [standardized mean difference: 0.83 (0.43, 1.22); p<0.0001] than in normal individuals. However, depression was not different between SCD and MCI or between SCD converters and non-converters. Age of SCD converters was higher than non-converters [mean difference: 2.95 years (0.58, 5.31)]. Conclusion Whereas APOEε4 positivity was higher in SCD plus and SCD converters, depression was higher in SCD and SCD plus but was not different between SCD and MCI.

Does the Fit of Managerial Ability with Firm Strategy Matters on Firm Performance

The study aims to answer why the previous studies find the positive or insignificant effect of the CEO's abilities on firm performance. Using 34,285 CEO-firm-year panel data from the U.S. publicly traded firms drawn from the BoardEx and EXECUXOMP database during from 1992 to 2014, the results show that the fit of the CEO's generality or specialist ability with firm strategy matters on firm performance and risk. This study computes a discrete STRATEGY composite measure to construct firm strategy types, such as Prospect or Defend and use CEOs' résumés to construct an index of general skills that are transferable across firms and industries. The results find that generalist CEOs are more suitable for prospectors than specialist CEOs. Firm performance is much better when specialist CEOs work for Defenders. Although the firm performance is better too for the generalist CEOs who fit for the Prospect strategy, the firm's risk is up too. The result suggests that firms need to consider their chosen business strategy to recruit and select CEOs Our findings provide direct evidence that the match between CEO's ability and the firm's strategy is crucial to firm performance and risk.

An oxidized layer was obtained on a cadmium zinc telluride (CZT) wafer by using chemical etching first in a KOH-KCl solution and then in an NH4F/H2O2 solution. The oxidized layer on the CZT obtained by using this method was analyzed by using ex-situ spectroscopic ellipsometry (SE) for the first time. In particular, the optical constants and the thickness of the chemical oxidized layer were obtained as functions of the oxidizing time.

Performance Analysis of Satellite Communication System for Multimedia Services with Full Connectivity

This paper analyzes the channel assignment techniques and their performance in the On Board Processing (OBP) satellite communication system. It suggests the new Continuous Rate Assignment (CRA) and Dynamic Rare Assignment (DRA) for improving the efficiency of channel assignment at the OBP switch. Mathematical analysis and simulation are given to evaluate the system performance. Aggregate real-time and non-real-time services are considered as different classes. Higher priority is given to voice and video real-time services to avoid delay variation. Onboard scheduler uses CRA and DRA ways to arrange the capacity allocation dynamically. An improved algorithm is given to make the channel more efficient by doing some evaluation of the switching matrix. 본 논문은 On Board Processing(OBP) 위성종신 중계기시스템에 대한 채널할당방식과 그 성능에 대하여 분석하였으며 채널할당의 효율을 개선하기 위한 CRA와 DRA에 대한 개선방식을 제시하였다. 수학적 분석과 시뮬레이션을 통해서 시스템의 성능을 평가한다. 실시간과 비실시간 서비스를 구분하였으며 음성, 화상과 같은 실시간 서비스는 지연민감성을 고려하여 우선순위를 높게 고려하였다. 탑재교환기는 CRA와 DRA의 두가지 할당방식을 역동적으로 활용한 알고리즘을 사용하여 채널 효율을 높이는 우수한 기법을 소개한다.

WDRP, a DWD protein component of CUL4-based E3 ligases, acts as a receptor of CDPK-related protein kinase 5 to mediate kinase degradation in Arabidopsis

CRK5 is a member of the Arabidopsis thaliana Ca2+-dependent protein kinase-related kinase family. Here, a yeast two-hybrid screen was performed with a truncated form of AtCRK5 as bait to identify interacting proteins and determine its physiological roles. One gene encoding the DWD protein WDRP was isolated. Furthermore, in vitro and in vivo co-immunoprecipitation results strongly supported that these two proteins interact with each other. Using a cell-free degradation assay, we also established that CRK5 was an unstable protein that was degraded through the proteasome pathway. The rate of CRK5 degradation was delayed in a WDRP knockout line. On the other hand, the degradation of CRK5 mediated by WDRP might not affect the phosphorylation of PIN2 by CRK5. Overall, we demonstrated that AtCRK5 interacted with a DWD protein, AtWDRP; the protein AtWDRP targets the kinase for ubiquitin-dependent degradation. Therefore, this report describes a new kinase regulation pathway for CRK family proteins in Arabidopsis.

본 논문의 연구 목적은 공유숙박 비즈니스 바탕으로 숙박 플랫폼이 세입자의 온라인 리뷰 의향에 미치는 영향을 연구하는 것이다. 기존 숙박예약 모델보다 공유숙박 중 숙박 플랫품, 집주인, 세입자 간을 공유하는 독립성이 더 명확하다. 공유숙박 플랫폼은 집주인과 세입자간의 오프라인 숙박서비스를 완료하고 거래를 실현할 수 있도록 다양한 지원 서비스를 제공하는 것은 물론, 공유숙박 플랫폼은 세입자가 집주인에게 객관적이고 적극적으로 평가하도록 장려하는 특정 조치를 파악해야 한다. 공유숙박에 대한 신용 생태를 더 잘 확립할 수 있도록 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 공유숙박 플랫폼을 사용해본적 있는 소비자들을 대상으로, 2주간의 설문 조사를 하고 SPSS24.0 프로그램을 사용하여 데이터가 분석되었다. 이 논문의 연구결과는: (1) 플랫폼 리뷰 기능의 사용 용이성, 세입자의 만족도 및 플랫폼 리뷰 인센티브가 세입자의 온라인 리뷰 의향에 긍정적인 영향을 미친다. (2) 플랫폼의 신용 메커니즘은 세입자의 만족도가 온라인 리뷰 의향에 영향을 미치는 과정에서 긍정적인 영향을 미친다. The purpose of this study is to explore the impact of home stay platform on guests" willingness to comment online under the Shared home stay business model. Shared platform of home stay facility in addition to providing a variety of support services, help the landlord to the tenant do offline accommodation services, implementation, trading, will need to take some measures to actively promote the tenant groups to the landlord, the evaluation is objective, effective and sufficient number in order to better promote the sharing credit ecological establishment of home stay facility. In this study, consumers who have used the Shared home stay platform are taken as the research objects. The survey method adopts network questionnaire survey and Likert seven subscales. The statistical software SPSS24.0 program is used to process the data. Firstly, descriptive statistical analysis was conducted, followed by validity analysis and reliability analysis. After the reliability and validity of the questionnaire were determined, correlation analysis and regression analysis were used to verify the proposed hypothesis. The research results of this study are summarized as follows :(1) the usability of platform comment function, guest satisfaction and platform reward have a positive impact on the guest online comment willingness; (2) The credit mechanism of the platform has a positive regulating effect on the process of tenant satisfaction influencing tenant comment intention.

Path Following Predictive Control for Autonomous Vehicles Subject to Uncertain Tire-ground Adhesion and Varied Road Curvature

This paper presents an integrated active steering control (ASC) and direct yaw control (DYC) strategyfor improving path following performance of the vehicle subject to the uncertain tire-ground adhesion and roadcurvature conditions. To begin with, a model predictive control (MPC)-based path following controller is designedto deal with system state constraints and actuator actuation limitations. After that, a constrained weighted leastsquare (CWLS)-based torque distributor is developed to distribute the target resultant yaw moment signal into thefour executive wheels. Then, the developed control strategy and methods are implemented and evaluated on an eightdegree of freedom (8DOF) nonlinear vehicle model include longitudinal, lateral, yaw, roll and four wheels’ rotationdynamics. In the end, simulation results compared with ASC strategy, under the uncertain tire-ground adhesionand varied road curvature cases, confirm the feasibility and efficiency of the presented strategy and methods evensubject to the uncertain tire-ground adhesion and varied road curvature.
