      • Compressive Behaviour of Geopolymer Concrete-Filled Steel Columns at Ambient and Elevated Temperatures

        Geopolymer concrete (GPC), which is recognised as an environmentally friendly alternative to ordinary Portland cement (OPC) concrete, has been reported to possess high fire resistance. However, very limited research has been conducted to investigate the behaviour of geopolymer concrete-filled steel tubular (GCFST) columns at either ambient or elevated temperatures. This paper presents the compressive test results of a total of 15 circular concrete-filled steel tubular (CFST) stub columns, including 5 specimens tested at room temperature, 5 specimens tested at elevated temperatures and the remaining 5 specimens tested for residual strength after exposure to elevated temperatures. The main variables in the test program include: (a) concrete type; (b) concrete strength; and (c) curing condition of geopolymer concrete. The test results demonstrate that GCFST columns have similar ambient temperature behaviour compared with the conventional CFST counterparts. However, GCFST columns exhibit better fire resistance than the conventional CFST columns. Meanwhile, it is found that the GCFST column made with heat cured GPC has lower strength loss than other columns after exposure to elevated temperatures. The research results highlight the possibility of using geopolymer concrete to improve the fire resistance of CFST columns.

        현존하는 양계 강릉 소역 집단의 작품은 기본적으로 모두 묘당에서 사용한 정치성 공독문으로 당시의 중대한 정치 사건과 관계가 밀접하다. 이러한 문장들은 문학성을 띤 변려화 된 서신의 방식을 채용하였고, 짙은 서정적 색채와 형상화된 특징을 갖추고 있어서 예술적 기교를 추구하며 다양한 예술풍격을 지니고 있다고 말할 수 있다. 양계 강릉 정치 문장은 심미적인 의미를 갖춘 문학성 서신을 통해 정치 실용의 목적을 이루고자 하였으며, 공독문장의 응용 기능과 심미 기능의 융합을 체현하고자 하였다.

        Nickle nanoparticles highly dispersed on reduced graphene oxide for ammonia decomposition to hydrogen

        The Ni/reduced graphene oxide catalysts are synthesized by an in situ hydrothermal method, using thegraphene oxide as the support precursor. The textural and structural properties of the prepared Ni/reduced graphene oxide catalysts are characterized by X-ray diffraction, scanning and transmissionelectron microscopy, thermogravimetric analysis, H2-Temperature-programmed reduction, andelectrochemical impedance spectroscopy. The catalytic performances of the prepared Ni/reducedgraphene oxide catalysts for ammonia decomposition display the enhanced activity. The effect ofreduced graphene oxide support and the influence of nickel content on catalytic activity are evaluated,and the Ni/reduced graphene oxide catalysts exhibit higher catalytic activity than reduced grapheneoxide support and the pure NiO. The ammonia has a conversion of 81.9% and 27.4 mmol/min gcat H2 rateat 700 8C when the 10%-Ni/reduced graphene oxide catalyst used.

        Open Access : Expression patterns of TRα and CRABPII genes in Chinese cashmere goat skin during prenatal development

        Background: The physiologic characteristics of the cashmere trait and many of the differentially expressed genes relevant to hair cycling have been extensively studied, whereas genes involved in the prenatal development of hair follicles have been poorly investigated in cashmere goats. The aim of this study, therefore, was to quantify the time-course changes in the expressions of TRα and CRABPII genes in the fetal skin of Chinese cashmere goats at the multiple embryonic days (E70, E75, E80, E90, E100, E120 and E130) using real-time quantitative PCR (RT-qPCR). Results: RT-qPCR showed that TRα was expressed at E70 with relatively high level and then slightly decreased (E75, E80, and E90). The highest expression of TRα mRNA was revealed at E130 (P > 0.05). The expression pattern of CRABPII mRNA showed an ``up-down-up`` trend, which revealed a significantly highest expression at E75 (P < 0.05) and was down-regulated during E80 to E120 (P < 0.05) and mildly increased at E130, subsequently. Conclusion: This study demonstrated that TRα and CRABPII genes expressed in different levels during prenatal development of cashmere. The present study will be helpful to provide the comprehensive understanding of TRα and CRABPII genes expressions during cashmere formation and lay the ground for further studies on their roles in regulation of cashmere growth in goats.

        Chlorogenic Acid-Enriched Extract of Ilex kudingcha C.J. Tseng Inhibits Angiogenesis in Zebrafish

        Kudingcha is a particularly bitter tasting tea that has been widely used in China to eliminate fever and itching eyes, and to clear blood toxins. Kudingcha is considered of value for its potential anticancer effects that are attributed to the presence of characteristic bioactive ingredients. The chlorogenic acid (CGA) derivatives 3-0-caffeoylquinic acid, 5-0-caffeoylquinic acid, 3,5-0-dicaffeoylquinic acid, and 4,5-0-dicaffeoylquinic acid were separated from Ilex kudingcha C.J. Tseng extract by high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC)–photodiode array detector (PDA) and HPLC-nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR). In Tg(flk1:EGFP) zebrafish embryos at 52 hours postfertilization (hpf), angiogenesis was significantly inhibited by kudingcha extract (KDCE) at concentrations of 400 and 500 μg/mL and CGA also showed significant inhibition in embryos treated with 80, 100, and 130 μg/mL. Endothelial cell apoptosis showed a dose-dependent increase in response to KDCE and CGA. CGA derivatives from KDCE could have potential as anticancer agents against tumor angiogenesis.

        Fire performance of concrete-filled steel tubular columns strengthened by CFRP

        With the increasing use of concrete-filled steel tubes (CFST) as structural members, there is a growing need to provide suitable measures for possible strengthening or repair of these kinds of structural elements. Fibre reinforced polymer (FRP) jacketing is a recent method and is particularly attractive in which it does not significantly increase the section size, and is relatively easy to install. Thus, it can be used to enhance strength and/or ductility of CFST members. Very little information is available on the performance of FRP-strengthened CFST members under fire conditions. This paper is an attempt to study the fire performance of CFST columns strengthened by FRP. The results of fire endurance tests on FRP-strengthened circular CFST columns are presented. Failure modes of the specimens after exposure to fire, temperatures in the cross section, axial deformation and fire resistance of the composite columns are analysed. It is demonstrated that the required fire endurance can be achieved if the strengthened composite columns are appropriately designed.

        美盛德而述形容:『骈体文钞』萧纲三颂的王权书写

        Li Zhaoluo selected Xiao Gang’s Southern Suburbs Song, Dafa Song and MaBao Song in the second volume of the first part of parallel style Wen Chao. Although the writing origin and content are different, they are respectively praising the ancestors, praising the Dharma, and singing the god horse, but the theme is to promote the king's power and praise the prosperous times. Southern Suburbs Song reflects Xiao Gang's pride in the glorious times of the dynasty and and his enthusiasm to extol the imperial government. The nature of the rites and the stylistic characteristics of the eulogy determines that the main content of Southern Suburbs Song is to eulogize the emperor's merits, to promote the politics of the king's power, and depict the glorious times. Xiao Gang's Dafa Song and MaBao Song are not pure Buddhist texts, but the combination of Buddhism and the concept of royal power, which fully exaggerates Xiao Yan's literary governance and martial arts, benevolence and morality, and the majesty of the emperor. In the end, although it is attributed to praising Buddhism and pursuing all living beings, the essay has a large part of the praise of literary and martial arts, and the prosperity of benevolence, which fully demonstrates Xiao Gang's enthusiasm for the political writing of royal power. Compared with the traditional writing of eulogizing the royal power, the introduction of Buddhist concepts into the political level of royal power, the knowledge concept and the way of discourse have changed. The fu and song styles are all derived from the Confucian classics. The prefaces and texts of Xiao Gang's three songs are written in the form of fu, and they are basically pure and elegant, avoiding extravagance. Xiao Gang's three Songs focuses on the writing of royal power, which is also closely related to the stylistic nature of eulogizing virtues and praising success. Xiao Gang's writing of the royal power in his eulogies combines Confucianism and Buddhism systems in concept and discourse, which is not limited by the traditional concept of formal and variant in song style and has transcending significance.

        論漢魏六朝監察制度視域下的彈劾文生成

        The article of impeachment is a type of document written and sent from the bottom up for the purpose of “impeaching” specific governmental officials in the ancient times. During the Han, Wei and Six Dynasties, this of writing was gradually formed in scale and developed into a well-functioning mechanism. The article of impeachment is closely linked with specific social contexts. A variety of key elements rooted in the political system, ritual requirements and economic demand in the Han, Wei and Six Dynasties facilitated the emergence of such a genre of writing, among which the political supervisory system served as the main driver of the emergence of the articles of impeachment in the Han, Wei and Six Dynasties. The article of impeachment is the textualization of the action of impeachment. The political supervisory system of the Han, Wei and Six Dynasties inherited the previous traditions and replenished on its own by regulating the behaviors of officials, especially governmental officials, in politics, economy, rituals, personal cultivation and various other aspects. This supervisory system incubated the articles of impeachment on the institutional level. The supervisory regulations served as the main references in the impeachment process and in writing articles of impeachment ; The supervisory bodies guaranteed the execution of the impeachment power of officials; The writing practices of supervisory officials played a significant role in facilitating the emergence of the article of impeachment ; and the logic of such articles was subject to the function and content of supervision.

      • Single Nucleotide Polymorphisms in the u-PA Gene are Related to Susceptibility to Oral Tongue Squamous Cell Carcinoma in the Northern Chinese Han Population

        Aim: The purpose of this study was to determine whether susceptibility to oral tongue squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) is related to polymorphisms in the u-PA gene. Methods: We examined the rs2227564 C/T and rs2227562 G/A single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in 196 OSCC patients and 201 age- and gender-matched controls via direct sequencing and PCR-RFLP methods. Results: Significant differences were found in allelic and genotypic distributions of the rs2227564 and rs2227562 loci when comparing cases and controls. In addition, logistic analyses indicated that the rs2227564 C/T genotype was related to a 1.52-fold increased risk of developing OSCC (adjusted OR=1.521, 95%CI: 1.144~2.022, P=0.004). Linkage disequilibrium analysis was conducted and no association between the two loci was found (D'=0.031, $r^2$=0.000). Conclusions: Our findings provide evidence that the rs2227564 C/T SNP in the u-PA gene is associated with the development of OSCC.
