      • 마이크로파 트랜시버용 위상동기 유전체 발진기의 설계

        본 논문에서는 마이크로파 샘플링 위상검파에 의한 위상동기발진기에 의하여 고 안정 Ku-band 마이크로파 트랜시버용 국부발진기를 설계하였다. 설계된 유전체 발진기는 병렬귀환공진형태로서 소스단에서 전압을 제어할 수 있는 전압제어발진기로 설계 제작하였으며 마이크로파샘플링은 외부에서 제공되는 125MHz의 표준주파수를 SRD로 체배시켜 하모닉 신호를 이용하였으며 유전체 발진기의 자유발진신호와 샘플링신호사이의 위상비교에 의하여 고 안정 특성을 갖는 위상고정 발진기를 제작하였다. 제작된 마이크로파 샘플링 위상동기발진기는 발진주파수 13.25GHz에서 -9.5dBm의 위상고정 출력을 나타냈으며, 위상잡음은 -74.67dBc/Hz @10kHz와 -103dBc/Hz @100kHz의 특성과 10ppm급의 고안정 위상동기의 특성을 보였다. This paper describes a microwave sampling phase detection which operates over the ku-band and 13.25GHz phase locked microwave oscillation for high stable microwave transceiver local oscillator. The Voltage controlled dielectric resonant oscillator with parallel feedback is controlled by source voltage of active device. To obtain the high stabilization, we use the standard frequency of 100MHz supported by external source and harmonic signals which is multiplied by SRD diode to make microwave sampling signal. it is compared the phases of two signal between free running signal of DRO and multiplied signal at the phase detector diodes. As a result of experimental results of designed the microwave sampling phase 1ocked microwave oscillator, the phase locked oscillator exhibits output power of -9.5dBm with phase noise in the phase locked state of -74.67dBc/Hz at 10KHz and -103dBc/Hz at 100KHz offset frequency from 13.25GHz, respectively.

      • 정신분열병 환자에서 사회인구학적 특징과 종교에 따른 정신병 치료방법에 대한 선호도

        연구목적 : 종교가 정신분열병 치료에 도움을 주기도 하지만 정신병 치료방법에 대한 잘못된 개념을 심어주어 환자의 치료순응도에 나쁜 영향을 미치기도 한다. 그러므로 종교에 따른 정신병 치료방법에 대한 선호도를 조사하여 종교가 정신분열병 치료에 미치는 영향을 알아보고자 이 연구를 시행하였다. 방 법 : DSM-Ⅳ에 의해 진단 받았으며 GAF score가 41이상은 정신분열병 환자 102명을 대상으로 하였다. Allport와 Ross의 내재적-외향적 종교성향척도를 이용하여 종교성향을 설문 조사하였으며 정신병 치료방법(초자연적 치료, 원시적 약물치료, 심리적 치료, 종교적 치료, 생물학적 치료)에 대한 선호도를 설문 조사하였다. 수집된 자료에서 사회인구학적 특성과 종교성향 그리고 정신병 치료방법의 관계를 비교 분석하였다. 결 과 : 1) 정신분열병 환자는 생물학적 치료와 심리적 치료에 가장 높은 선호도를 보였으며 다음으로 종교적 치료와 원시적 약물치료에 높은 선호도를 보였다. 2) 기독교를 믿는 환자군은 종교적 치료에 유의한 선호도를 보인다. 3) 내재적 성향의 환자군이 반종교적 성향의 환자군에 비해 심리적 치료에 유의하게 높은 선호도를 보였다. 그리고 친종교적 성향의 환자는 초자연적 치료, 심리적 치료 그리고 종교적 치료에서 유의하게 높은 선호도를 보였다. 결 론 : 전반적으로 종교성향과 정신병 치료방법은 유의한 상관관계를 보이지 않았다. 그러나 종교성향은 특정한 교리나 사상을 반영하기보다는 개인의 성격을 반영하는 경향이 있으므로 종교과 정신병 치료방법이 전혀 무관하다고 할 수 없다. 환자들은 종교적 치료와 원시적 약물치료에 상당한 선호도를 보이고 있으며 특히, 기독교를 믿는 환자군은 종교적 치료에 유의한 선호도를 보인다. 그러므로 환자와 가족에게 정신분열병에 대한 정신교육을 지속적으로 시행해야 한다고 여겨진다. Objectives : Religion may be beneficial to the treatment of schizophrenia, but religion frequently have bad influence on drug compliance because religion give false concept of the treatment of psychosis. We investigated the influence of religion on the treatment of schizophrenia by assessing the preference for the treatment of psychosis to religion. Methods : 102 patients of schizophrenia who were diagnosed by DSM-Ⅳ and above 41 scores of GAF score were selected. We assessed religious orientation with the Intrinsic and Extrinsic Religious Orientation Scale and assessed the preference for the treatment method of psychosis(supernatural treatment, primitive medicinal treatment, psychological treatment, religious treatment, biological treatment). The relationship among the variables of demographic data, religious orientation, the treatment method of psychosis were analyzed. Results : 1) Schizophrenic patient showed first preference for biological treatment and psychological treatment and they showed second preference for religious treatment and primitive medicinal treatment. 2) Protestant showed preference for religious treatment. 3) Patient group who have intrinsic religious orientation showed more preference for psychological treatment than patient group who have antireligious orientation. Conclusions : Generally the relation between religious orientation and the treatment method of psychosis was not significant. But it couldn't be said that religion and the treatment method of psychosis was not related because religious orientation was not related with religious ideology but was related with personality. Schizophrenic patient showed more preference for religious treatment and primitive medicinal treatment and specifically, protestant showed preference for religious treatment. Therefore, we suggest that it is necessary to give persistent education about schizophrenia to patients and their family.

      • CSVT법에 의해 증착시킨 CdS 박막의 전기적 특성

        CSVT법에 의해 증착시킨 CdS 박막의 전기적 특성 및 열전기 특성을 조사하기 위하여 시료의 X-선 회절, 직류 전기전도도, Hall 이동도 그리고 TSC를 측정하였다. 그 결과 CSVT 법에 의해 제작된 CdS 박막이 보통중착법에 의한 것에 비하여 결정성장이 향상되고 Hall 이동도가 크며 저항이 작다는 것을 알았다. 또한 TSC 측정결과, 광조사 조건에 따라 TSC 피크가 다르게 나타나며 이러한 피크 특성은 photochemical reaction model로서 설명될 수 있고, 그리고 제작조건이 다른 두 CdS 박막에서 나타나는 TSC 피크의 비교로부터 CSVT법에 의해 제작된 시료가 보통증착법에 의한 것보다 상온 이상에서의 photochemical reaction 효과 적음을 알 수 있다. To investigate electrical property and thermally stimulated current (TSC) for the CdS films which were grown by close-spaced vapor transport (CSVT), the measurements of X-ray diffraction pattern (XRD), d.c. conductivity, Hall mobility and TSC were carried out. Form the result of the measurements, CSVT-CdS films are found to be better oriented and to be less resistive with better mobility as compared with the films evaporated by the conventional method. TSC spectra under illumination conditions show different TSC peaks. These can be explained by photochemical reaction model. The result suggests that the effect of photochemical reaction above room temperature is to be less than conventional evaporated films in the case of CSVT-CdS films.

      • Citrus fruit extracts with carvacrol and thymol eliminated 7-log acid-adapted <i>Escherichia coli</i> O157:H7, <i>Salmonella</i> typhimurium, and <i>Listeria monocytogenes</i>: A potential of effective natural antibacterial agents

        <P>Despite the widespread belief that citrus fruit extracts (CFEs) are microbiologically safe due to their acidity, limited bactericidal effect results in low applicability as antibacterial agent and outbreaks occurred by acid-adapted pathogens. Here, we examined the antibacterial effects of CFEs [lime (Citrus medica), lemon (Citrus limon), calamansi (Citrus microcarpa)] combined with essential oil components (EOCs; carvacrol and thymol) against non-acid-adapted/acid-adapted Escherichia coli 0157:H7, Salmonella Typhimurium, and Listeria monocytogenes under 22 degrees C for 5 min. CFEs (< 20%) alone or small amounts of EOCs (2.0 mM; 0.032%) alone could not inactivate the target bacteria effectively. However, combined treatments exhibited marked synergy: CFE + EOCs eliminated all the bacteria (> 6.9 log CFU/ml). Among the CFEs tested, the highest synergism was shown by calamansi, an exotic citrus fruit previously unrecognized as an antibacterial agent. Although acid-adaptation improved bacterial survival, calamansi (< 20%) + EOCs (< 0.032%) completely inactivated even the most resistant pathogen (E. coli 0157:H7). Validation test also showed that all tested commercial juice products also eliminated acid -adapted pathogens when used with EOCs. Physicochemical analysis of tested CFEs (pH measurement and HPLC analysis of components) revealed that low pH and flavanone (hesperidin) did not contribute to the synergistic bactericidal effects. Rather, the high citric acid content is likely to contribute to the strong synergistic effect with EOCs by damaging susceptible bacterial membranes. Sensory scores for CFEs were not altered by addition of EOCs at concentrations up to 1.5 mM. This study provides new insight into the utility of CFEs with EOCs to improve not only the microbiological safety of food products containing CFEs but also their applicability as natural antibacterial complex.</P>

        Predictive Value of Electromechanical Window for Risk of Fatal Ventricular Arrhythmia

        Background: As an indicator of electro-mechanical coupling, electromechanical window (EMW) can be used to predict fatal ventricular arrhythmias. We investigated the additive effect of EMW on the prediction of fatal ventricular arrhythmias in high-risk patients. Methods: We included patients who had implantable cardioverter-defibrillator (ICD) implanted for primary or secondary prevention. The event group was defined as those who received an appropriate ICD therapy. We acquired echocardiograms at ICD implantation and follow-up. The EMW was calculated as the difference between the interval from QRS onset to aortic valve closure and QT interval from the electrocardiogram embedded in the continuous wave doppler image. We evaluated the predictive value of EMW for predicting fatal ventricular arrhythmia. Results: Of 245 patients (67.2 ± 12.8 years, 63.7% men), the event group was 20.0%. EMW at baseline (EMW-Baseline) and follow-up (EMW-FU) was significantly different between event and control groups. After adjustment, both EMW-Baseline (odds ratio [OR]adjust 1.02 [1.01– 1.03], P = 0.004) and EMW-FU (ORadjust 1.06 [1.04–1.07], P < 0.001) remained as significant predictors for fatal arrhythmic events. Adding EMW-Baseline significantly improved the discriminating ability of the multivariable model including clinical variables (area under the curve [AUC] 0.77 [0.70–0.84] vs. AUC 0.72 [0.64–0.80], P = 0.004), while a univariable model using EMW-FU alone showed the best performance among models (AUC 0.87 [0.81– 0.94], P = 0.060 against model with clinical variables; P = 0.030 against model with clinical variables and EMW-Baseline). Conclusion: The EMW could effectively predict severe ventricular arrhythmia in ICD implanted patients. This finding supports the importance of incorporating the electro-mechanical coupling index into the clinical practice for predicting future fatal arrhythmia events.

        Effectiveness of Computed Tomography for Blow-out Fracture

        Purpose: This study assessed the association between eye symptoms (enophthalmos or diplopia) and site of damage, volume, deviated inferior rectus muscle (IRM) and type of fracture with computed tomography (CT). The intent is to anticipate the prognosis of orbital trauma at initial diagnosis. Methods: Forty-five patients were diagnosed with fractures of the inferior wall of one orbit. Fracture area, volume of displaced tissue, deviated IRM, and type of fracture were evaluated from coronal CT by one investigator. The association of those variables with the occurrence of eye symptoms (diplopia and enophthalmos) was assessed. Results: Of 45 patients, 27 were symptom-free (Group A) and 18 had symptoms (Group B) of enophthalmos and/or diplopia. In Group B, 12 had diplopia, one was enophthalmos, and five had both. By CT measurement, group A mean area was $192.6mm^2$ and the mean volume was $673.2mm^3$. Group B area was $316.2mm^2$ and volume was $1,710.6mm^3$. The volume was more influential on symptom occurrence. Each patient was categorized into four grades depending on the location of IRM. Symptom occurrence and higher grade were associated. Twenty-six patients had trap-door fracture (one side, attached to the fracture), and 19 had punched-out fracture (both sides detached). The punched-out fracture was more strongly associated with symptoms and had statistically significantly higher area and volume. Conclusion: In orbital trauma, measurement of fracture area and volume, evaluation of the deviated IRM and classification of the fracture type by coronal CT can effectively predict prognosis and surgical indication.

        DNA Methylation Profiles of Blood Cells Are Distinct between Early-Onset Obese and Control Individuals

        Obesity is a highly prevalent, chronic disorder that has been increasing in incidence in young patients. Both epigenetic and genetic aberrations may play a role in the pathogenesis of obesity. Therefore, in-depth epigenomic and genomic analyses will advance our understanding of the detailed molecular mechanisms underlying obesity and aid in the selection of potential biomarkers for obesity in youth. Here, we performed microarray-based DNA methylation and gene expression profiling of peripheral white blood cells obtained from six young, obese individuals and six healthy controls. We observed that the hierarchical clustering of DNA methylation, but not gene expression, clearly segregates the obese individuals from the controls, suggesting that the metabolic disturbance that occurs as a result of obesity at a young age may affect the DNA methylation of peripheral blood cells without accompanying transcriptional changes. To examine the genome-wide differences in the DNA methylation profiles of young obese and control individuals, we identified differentially methylated CpG sites and investigated their genomic and epigenomic contexts. The aberrant DNA methylation patterns in obese individuals can be summarized as relative gains and losses of DNA methylation in gene promoters and gene bodies, respectively. We also observed that the CpG islands of obese individuals are more susceptible to DNA methylation compared to controls. Our pilot study suggests that the genome-wide aberrant DNA methylation patterns of obese individuals may advance not only our understanding of the epigenomic pathogenesis but also early screening of obesity in youth.
