        태충(太衝)(LR3),합곡(合谷)(LI4) 전침자극(電鍼刺戟)이 뇌활성(腦活性) 변화(變化)에 미치는 영향(影響) -fMRI를 이용(利用)한 연구(硏究)-

        Objectives and Methods: This study was performed to investigate the effect of electro -acupuncture at four gates(bilateral LR3 and LI4) on brain activity in normal subjects using fMRI. Results and Conclusions: 1. fMRI signal increase by electro-acupuncture at Lt. LR3 was observed in Rt. Middle frontal gyrus in group average as well as more than half of the subjects. 2. fMRI signal decreases by electro-acupuncture at Lt. LR3 were observed in Rt. Superior frontal gyrus, Rt. Middle temporal gyrus, Rt. Cingulate gyrus in group average as well as more than half of the subjects. 3. fMRI signal increases by electro-acupuncture at Lt. LI4 were observed in Lt. Superior frontal gyrus, Lt. Middle frontal gyrus, Lt. Inf. Semi-Lunar Lobule(cerebellum), Rt. Middle frontal gyrus, Rt. Cingulate gyrus in group average as well as more than half of the subjects. 4. fMRI signal decreases by electro-acupuncture at Lt. LI4 were observed in Lt. Middle frontal gyrus, Lt. Inferior frontal gyrus, Lt. Precentral gyrus and Rt. Middle frontal gyrus, Rt. Middle temporal gyrus, Rt. Precuneus, Rt. Inferior frontal gyrus, Rt. Postcentral gyrus in group average as well as more than half of the subjects. 5. fMRI signal increase by electro-acupuncture at Lt. LR3 and Lt. LI4 in group average as well as more than half of the subjects was not observed. 6. fMRI signal decreases by electro-acupuncture at Lt. LR3 and Lt. LI4 were observed in Lt. culmen(cerebellum), Lt. Cingulate gyrus와 Rt. Middle frontal gyrus, Rt. Cingulate gyrus, Rt. Inferior frontal gyrus in group average as well as more than half of the subjects. 7. fMRI signal increases by electro-acupuncture at four gates (bilateral LR3 and LI4) were observed in Lt. Middle temporal gyrus and Lt. Postcentral gyrus in group average as well as more than half of the subjects. 8. fMRI signal decrease by electro-acupuncture at four gates (bilateral LR3 and LI4) were observed in Lt. Middle frontal gyrus, Lt. Precentral gyrus, Lt. Inferior frontal gyrus, Lt. Middle temporal gyrus, Lt. Frontal sub-gyral and Rt. Tuber(cerebellum) in group average as well as more than half of the subjects.

        소장의 비특이성 궤양에 의한 회장 천공 1 예

        Ulcers of the small bowel distal to the duodenum are not common, and some ulcers are unexplaned by any specific mechanism and have been termed $quot;nonspecific$quot; or $quot;idiopathic$quot; small bowel ulcer. In Korea, nonspecific ulcer of the small bowel is quite rare, comparison of the western contury. Recently we experienced a patient with nonspecific ulcer of ileum. A 50-year-old male patient was admitted to the hospital because of intestinal obstruction and perforation. By laparotomy, perforation and numerous stenosis were identified in the 55 cm from ileocecal valve, segmental resection has been done. The histologic findings identical to the peptic ulcer suggested the feature of nonspecific ulcer of small bowel. We present this case with the review of literature.

      • Pore Structure Control of Ordered Mesoporous Silica Film Using Mixed Surfactants

        <P>Materials with nanosized and well-arranged pores have been researched actively in order to be applied to new technology fields. Especially, mesoporous material containing various pore structures is expected to have different pore structure. To form a mixed pore structure, ordered mesoporous silica films were prepared with a mixture of surfactant; Brij-76 and P-123 block copolymer. In mixed surfactant system, mixed pore structure was observed in the region of P-123/(Brij-76 + P-123) with about 50.0 wt.% while a single pore structure was observed in regions which have large difference in ratio between Brij-76 and P-123 through the X-ray diffraction analysis. Regardless of surfactant ratio, porosity was retained almost the same. It is expected that ordered mesoporous silica film with mixed pore structure can be one of the new materials which has distinctive properties.</P>

      • Abnormal Grain Growth Induced by Boundary Segregation of Solute Atoms

        <P>Abnormal grain growth (AGG) proceeds in case that normal grain growth is inhibited. It has long been known that the inhibition involves finely dispersed particles and/or the development of specific textures. There is another strong obstacle against the grain boundary (GB) motion; the solute atoms can reduce their energy by moving from the bulk into a GB. Resultant interaction between the solute atoms and a GB makes the GB motion more difficult. However the role of the GB segregation effect on AGG has not been clarified. In this study we simulate the 2D and 3D grain growth accompanying boundary segregation of solute atoms by using a phase-field model. It is shown that the segregation plays an important role on the occurrence of AGG. The boundary-segregation-induced AGG can take place when the average driving force of grain growth approaches a critical condition for pinning-depinning transition in solute-drag atmosphere.</P>

        UBVRI CCD PHOTOMETRY OF THE TYPE Ic SUPERNOVA SN 1994I IN M51: THE FIRST TWO MONTHS

        We present UBVRI CCD photometry of the Type Ie supernova SN 19941 in M51 which was discovered on April 2, 1994 (UT). UBVRI CCD photometry of SN 1994 I were obtained for the period of the first two months from April 4, 1994, using the Seoul National University Observatory 60 cm telescope. The light curves of SN 19941 show several interesting features: (a) SN 19941 reaches the maximum brightness at B-band on April 8.23 (B = 13.68 mag), at V-band on April 9.10 (V = 12.89 mag), and at I-band on April 10.32 (I = 12.48 mag); (b) The light curves around the maximum brightness are much narrower than those of other types of supernovae; (c) The light curves after the peak decline more steeply than those of other types of supernovae; and (d) The colors get redder from $(V-R){\approx}0.2 mag ((V - I){\approx} 0.3 mag, (B - V){\approx}0.7 mag)$ on April 4 to $(V-R){\approx}0.6 mag ((V-1){\approx}0.9 mag, (B-V){\approx}1.3 mag)$ on April 18. Afterwards (V - R) colors get bluer slightly $(by\~0.005 mag/day)$, while (V-I) colors stay almost constant around $(V-1){\approx}1.0 mag$. The color at the maximum brightness is (B-V)=0.9 mag, which is $\~1$mag redder than the mean color of typical Type la supernovae at the maximum brightness. The light curves of SN 1994I are similar to those of the Type Ie supernova SN 1962L in NGC 1073. Adopting the distance modulus of $(m-M)_0 = 29.2 mag$ and the reddening of E(B - V) = 0.45 mag [Iwamoto et al. 1994, preprint for ApJ], we derive absolute magnitudes at the maximum brightness of SN 1994I, Mv(max) = -17.7 mag and MB(max) = -17.4 mag. This result shows that SN 1994I was $\~2$mag fainter at the maximum brightness compared with typical Type Ia supernovae. A narrower peak and faster decline after the maximum in the light curve of SN 1994I compared with other types of supernovae indicate that the progenitor of SN 1994I might be a lower mass star compared with those of other types of supernovae.

        한국의 국가와 자연의 관계에 대한 정치생태학적 연구를 위한 시론

        본 논문은 국가와 자연이 각각 독립적이고, 자연을 인간의 손길로부터 떨어져 신성한 것으로 간주하는 근대적 인식을 비판하는 “국가-자연의 정치생태학” 논의를 차용하여 한국에서 나타나는 국가와 자연의 복잡성을 관계적, 과정적으로 고찰하기 위한 시론이다. 이를 위해서 먼저, 국내사회과학에서의 국가와 자연과의 관계에 대한 기존의 논의들(생태주의, 신진대사균열론, 자연의 사회적 구성론, 녹색국가론 등)을 비판적으로 검토하고, 이들 논의에서 국가와 자연 간의 상호작용에 대한 이해가 누락되었음을 지적한다. 이어서 대안적인 관점으로 국가-자연의 정치생태학에 주목할 필요가 있음을 주장한다. 끝으로 국가-자연의 정치생태학적 접근이 한국의 자본주의 발전과정에 대한 이해를 심화시키는 데 기여할 수 있음을 강조한다. This paper aims to examine the complexities of the state-nature relations in Korea by emphasizing the complex processes of interactions between the state and nature. In doing so, it relies on the literature of “political ecology of state-nature” which problematizes the conventional modernist views on nature assuming the dualistic separation between the state and nature. First, we critically review the existing Korean literature on the state-nature relation (e.g., the ecologism, the metabolic rift theory, the social construction of the nature, the green state thesis, etc.) and argue that these studies significantly lack the recognition of the interactions between the state and nature. Second, we discuss the possibilities of seeing the state-nature relations from the perspective of political ecology as an alternative approach to the state-nature relation. Last, we conclude that the political ecology approach to the state-nature can deepen our understandings of the Korean capitalist development.

        구미공단 형성의 다중스케일적 과정에 대한 연구: 1969-73년 구미공단 제1단지 조성과정을 사례로

        본 논문은 1960년대 말과 70년대 초기의 구미공단 조성과정을 다중스케일적 관점에서 분석하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 흔히 한국의 발전주의 시기 산업화 과정을 “발전주의 국가론”의 관점에서 분석하면서 국가 스케일의 정치-사회-경제적 과정에 주목하거나, 혹은 국가관료의 계획합리성에 입각하여 설명하는 경향이 있는데, 본 논문에서는 전략관계적 국가론과 다중스케일적 인식론을 바탕으로 이러한 관점을 비판하면서, 국가 안에서, 혹은 국가를 통해서, 작동하는 다양한 사회세력들이 다양한 공간적 스케일에서 복합적으로 서로 경합하고 타협하면서 산업화와 관련된 국가의 행위들이 결정되었다고 주장한다. 본 논문은 이러한 견해를 구미공단이 조성되던 과정에 대한 사례연구를 통해 실증적으로 밝힌다. 구미공단 조성과정은 전자산업을 육성하려는 국가관료들의 계획합리성에 의해서만 설명될 수 있는 것도 아니고, 박정희 대통령의 고향이라는 정치적 이유만으로 설명될 수 있는 것도 아니다. 국가의 정치지도자와 관료들의 역할뿐만 아니라, 구미지역에 장소의존적 이해를 가진 로컬 행위자들과 한국과 일본을 오가면서 활동하던 재일교포 사업가, 지역과 국가 스케일에 모두 연결된 지역구 국회의원 등 다중스케일적 행위자의 역할이 구미공단의 조성에 매우 중요한 영향을 주었음을 이 논문은 밝힌다. This paper aims at exploring the multi-scalar processes through which the Gumi Industrial Complex was developed in the late 1960s and the early 1970s. Existing studies, influenced by the “De-velopmental State Thesis”, tend to see the industrialization processes of South Korea either by focusing on the socio-politico-economic processes at the national scale or in terms of the plan rationality of the national bureaucrats. This paper, however, denies this perspective on the basis of the strategic relational approach to the state and the multi-scalar perspective. In particular, it argues that the state actions for na-tional industrialization have been the outcome of complex interactions, conflicts and negotiations among social forces, acting in and through the state, and at diverse geographical scales. This paper attempts to empirically prove this argument on the basis of a case study on the construction processes of Gumi In-dustrial Complex. The development of Gumi Industrial Complex cannot be solely explained in terms of either the plan rationality of the national bureaucrats or the political motivation related to the fact that Gumi was the hometown of President Park Jung-Hee. This paper argues that the development of Gumi Industrial Complex was heavily influenced by the role of the following actors; place-dependent local actors in Gumi and the multi-scalar agents, such as the Korean-Japanese businessmen and the national parliament members elected in the Gumi electoral district.
