Based on the thermo-mechanical controlled process, the effects of Si on microstructural evolution, tensile properties, impact toughness, and stretch-flangeability of ferrite and bainite dual-phase (FBDP) steels were systematically investigated. The addition of Si from 0 to 0.95% promoted the formation of fine and equiaxed ferrite grains, and high Si (0.95%) also resulted in the formation of blocky martensite islands and retained austenite. Yield and tensile strengths, and uniform and total elongations all increased with increasing Si content. Therefore, the tensile strength and ductility balance was improved by Si addition due to the increasing strain-hardening rate. The fractured morphologies after hole-expansion showed that the excellent stretch-flangeability of FBDP steels was associated with the micro-cracks propagating through in ferrite phase as well as the elongated ferrite grains along the direction perpendicular to the crack. 0.95% Si steel had a similar high combination of tensile strength and impact toughness to 0.55% Si steel, and especially 0.95% Si steel exhibited an excellent combination of tensile strength and stretch-flangeability.

Dry eye syndrome is a relatively common disease of the tears and ocular surfaces that results in discomfort, visual disturbance, and tear film instability with possible damage to the ocular surfaces. Microvascular submandibular gland (SMG) transfer offers a surgical alternative for a permanent autologous substitution of tears using the basal secretion of a transplanted SMG. Long-term follow-up reveals that this technique is a lasting and effective solution for patients with severe dry eye syndrome. The uncomfortable symptoms were relieved, and the frequency of use of pharmaceutical tear substitutes was reduced. Objective examination showed significant improvement in tear film and some features of ocular surface such as breakup time of tear film and corneal staining. Patients may suffer from obstruction of Wharton's duct or epiphora after surgery. Activation of secretion-related receptors could improve the early hypofunction of the denervated SMG and prevent the duct obstruction. Reduction surgery, partial SMG transplantation, uses of atropine gel or Botulinum toxin A could be the choices of treatment for epiphora.
Genetic Factors, Viral Infection, Other Factors and Liver Cancer: An Update on Current Progress
Su, Cheng-Hao,Lin, Yong,Cai, Lin Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2013 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.14 No.9
Primary liver cancer is one of the most common cancers at the global level, accounting for half of all cancers in some undeveloped countries. This disease tends to occur in livers damaged through alcohol abuse, or chronic infection with hepatitis B and C, on a background of cirrhosis. Various cancer-causing substances are associated with primary liver cancer, including certain pesticides and such chemicals as vinyl chloride and arsenic. The strong association between HBV infection and liver cancer is well documented in epidemiological studies. It is generally acknowledged that the virus is involved through long term chronic infection, frequently associated with cirrhosis, suggesting a nonspecific mechanism triggered by the immune response. Chronic inflammation of liver, continuous cell death, abnormal cell growth, would increase the occurrence rate of genetic alterations and risk of disease. However, the statistics indicated that only about one fifth of HBV carries would develop HCC in lifetime, suggesting that individual variation in genome would also influence the susceptibility of HCC. The goal of this review is to highlight present level of knowledge on the role of viral infection and genetic variation in the development of liver cancer.

The genetic polymorphism and relationships of Muscovy, Cherry Valley Meat ducks, Partridge ducks and their crossbreds $F_1$ and $F_2$, respectively, were studied using a random amplified polymorphic DNA (RAPD) technique. The results showed that RAPD markers were effective for the analysis of genetic relationships among ducks. Amplification with 20-primers gave 760 reproducible amplified fragments. The percentage of polymorphic marker band was 74.70%, which indicates that the RAPD technique had higher efficiency of polymorphism detection and sensitivity in studying the genetic variations among ducks and showed that the genetic polymorphism was abundant between two species of duck populations. The average index of genetic distance in hybrid $F_2$ was 0.2341 and higher than that of its parents, which indicates that the genetic diversity was improved by crossbreeding with Muscovy.

Objectives: Since oils and fats can induce metabolic syndrome, leading to cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, the present study was performed to find out whether the plant oils affect the cerebral hemorrhage in stroke-prone spontaneously hypertensive (SHR-SP) rats. Methods: From 47 days of age, male SHR-SP rats were given drinking water containing 1% NaCl to induce hypertension, and simultaneously fed semi-purified diets containing 10% perilla oil, canola oil, or shortening. The onset time of convulsion following cerebral hemorrhage was recorded, and the areas of hemorrhage and infarction were analyzed in the stroke brains. Results: In comparison with 58-day survival of SHR-SP rats during feeding NaCl alone, perilla oil extended the survival time to 68.5 days, whereas canola oil shortened it to 45.7 days. Feeding perilla oil greatly reduced the total volume of cerebral hemorrhage from 17.27% in the control group to 4.53%, while shortening increased the lesions to 21.23%. In a microscopic analysis, perilla oil also markedly decreased the hemorrhagic and infarction lesions to 1/10 of those in control rats, in contrast to an exacerbating effect of shortening. In blood analyses, perilla oil reduced blood total cholesterol and low-density lipoproteins which were increased in SHR-SP, but canola oil further increased them and markedly lowered platelet counts. Discussion: Perilla oil delayed and attenuated cerebral hemorrhage by improving hyperlipidemia in hypertensive stroke animals, in contrast to the aggravating potential of canola oil and shortening. It is suggested that perilla oil should be the first choice oil for improving metabolic syndrome in hypertensive persons at risk of hemorrhagic stroke.

ValueRank: Keyword Search of Object Summaries Considering Values
( Cai Zhi ),( Lan Xu ),( Su Xing ),( Lang Kun ),( Cao Yang ) 한국인터넷정보학회 2019 KSII Transactions on Internet and Information Syst Vol.13 No.12
The Relational ranking method applies authority-based ranking in relational dataset that can be modeled as graphs considering also their tuples’ values. Authority directions from tuples that contain the given keywords and transfer to their corresponding neighboring nodes in accordance with their values and semantic connections. From our previous work, ObjectRank extends to ValueRank that also takes into account the value of tuples in authority transfer flows. In a maked difference from ObjectRank, which only considers authority flows through relationships, it is only valid in the bibliographic databases e.g. DBLP dataset, ValueRank facilitates the estimation of importance for any databases, e.g. trading databases, etc. A relational keyword search paradigm Object Summary (denote as OS) is proposed recently, given a set of keywords, a group of Object Summaries as its query result. An OS is a multilevel-tree data structure, in which node (namely the tuple with keywords) is OS’s root node, and the surrounding nodes are the summary of all data on the graph. But, some of these trees have a very large in total number of tuples, size-l OSs are the OS snippets, have also been investigated using ValueRank. We evaluated the real bibliographical dataset and Microsoft business databases to verify of our proposed approach.

Berberine, a type of isoquinoline alkaloid isolated from Chinese medicinal herbs, has been reported to have various pharmacological activities. Studies have demonstrated that berberine has beneficial effects on vascular remodeling and alleviates restenosis after vascular injury. However, its mechanism of action on vascular smooth muscle cell migration is not fully understood. We therefore investigated the effect of berberine on human aortic smooth muscle cell (HASMC) migration. Boyden chamber assay was performed to show that berberine inhibited HASMC migration dose- dependently. Real-time PCR and Western blotting analyses showed that levels of matrix metalloproteinase (MMP)-2, MMP-9, and urokinase-type plasminogen activator (u-PA) were reduced by berberine at both the mRNA and protein levels. Western blotting assay further confirmed that activities of c-Fos, c-Jun, and NF-κB were significantly attenuated. These results suggest that berberine effectively inhibited HASMC migration, possibly by down-regulating MMP-2, MMP-9, and u-PA; and interrupting AP-1 and NF-κB mediated signaling pathways. Preparation of Silica Nanoparticles via Two-Step Process Utilizing Mixed Chlorosilane Residues
Su, Yonghong,Xu, Bugang,Cai, Jixiang,Chen, Liang,Huang, Bing The Korean Ceramic Society 2018 한국세라믹학회지 Vol.55 No.6
We propose an economic and facile method for the preparation of silica nanoparticles through a two-step process utilizing chlorosilane residues. Mixed chlorosilane residue was alcoholized with absolute ethanol as a first step to form tetraethoxysilane (TEOS). The TEOS was then utilized as a silicon source to synthesize silica nanoparticles in a sol-gel method. The alcoholysis process was designed and optimized utilizing the Taguchi experimental design method and the yield of TEOS was as high as 82.2% under optimal synthetic conditions. Similarly, the Taguchi method was also utilized to study the effects of synthesis factors on the particle size of silica nanoparticles. The results of statistical analysis indicate that the concentration of ammonia has a greater influence on particle size compared to the mass fractions of TEOS and polyethylene glycol (4.6% and 9.7%). The purity of the silica particles synthesized in our experiments is high, but the specific surface area and pore volume are small.

In this paper, new tethered aerial robots including roaming tethered aerial robots (RTARs)for radioactive material sampling and stationary tethered aerial robots (STARs) for environmentmonitoring are proposed to meet extremely-long-endurance missions of nuclearpower plants. The flight of the proposed tethered aerial robots may last for a few days oreven a few months as long as the tethered cable provides continuous power. A high voltageAC or DC power system was newly adopted to reduce the mass of the tethered cable. TheRTAR uses a tethered cable spooled from the aerial robot and an aerial tension controlsystem. The aerial tension control system provides the appropriate tension to the tetheredcable, which is accordingly laid down on the ground as the RTAR roams. The STAR includesa tethered cable spooled from the ground and a ground tension control system, whichenables the STAR to reach high altitudes. Prototypes of the RTAR and STAR were designedand successfully demonstrated in outdoor environments, where the load power, powertype, operating frequency, and flight attitude of the RTAR and STAR were: 180 W, AC100 kHz, and 20 m; and 300 W, AC or DC 100 kHz, and 80 m, respectively.
