This paper deals with the study of feasibility of rotary carbide tools in the machining of aluminium alloy. A rotary tool holder was designed and manufactured for this work. Experiments were performed using Taguchi methods and regression analysis to analyse the influence of various factors and their interactions on the cutting characteristics of rotary carbide tools during machining. The cutting force is influenced the most greatly at the inclination angle. The surface roughness is influenced distinctly at depth of cut. It deduced an equation to predict cutting force and surface roughness. Hence, it could be concluded here that the proposed model agrees with the experimental data satisfactorily.

Objectives: The purpose of this study was to evaluate and compare the treatment outcomes of partial glossectomy with or without elective neck dissection in patients with tongue squamous cell carcinoma (SCCa). Materials and Methods: A total of 98 patients who were diagnosed with tongue SCCa and underwent partial glossectomy between 2005 and 2014 were evaluated. Only 14 patients received elective neck dissection, and 84 patients received only partial glossectomy. Results: There were 56 men and 42 women with a mean age of 57 years and mean follow-up period of 33.7 months. There were 70 patients graded as T1 and 28 as T2. The total occult metastasis rate was 17.3%. The 5-year overall survival rate was 83.3% with elective neck dissection and 92.4% with observation. The 5-year disease-free survival rate was in 70.7% in the elective neck dissection group and 65.3% in the observation group. Conclusion: We retrospectively reviewed the records of 98 patients with tongue SCCa. These patients were divided into two groups, those who underwent elective neck dissection and those who did not. There was no statistically significant difference between the groups undergoing partial glossectomy with or without elective neck dissection.

We have developed and evaluated a novel perfusion flow bioreactor system which facilitates the observation of living cells for extended periods of time. Cell viability showed that cell growth rate cultured (without medium perfusion) using the novel flow perfusion chamber system revealed a similar trend (p>0.05) compared to that of static culture. Also, the cell viability under the static culture (without perfusion) and flow perfusion culture (flow rate: 0.03 ml/min) with the developed perfusion bioreactor system was compared. The cell growth rate of the flow perfusion culture was significantly higher (p<0.05) than that of static culture for 4 days. The cell growth rate was efficiently increased to about 10-15% with the precision perfusion culture. These results indicate that a bioreactor system that can provide mechanical signals has important applications. Additionally, the developed cell culture chamber system has been successfully used to maintain and record the morphology of cultured alveolar bone marrow stem cells. It was possible to monitor and capture the live cell morphology cultured in the perfusion bioreactor. The characteristics of the bioreactor developed in this study was fast to culture stem cells with mechanical stimulation and to monitor live cell imaging while promoting healthy cellular activity outside of an incubator environment. Through experimental results, the developed perfusion bioreactor could increase cell growth with proper flow based on mechanical stimuli.

Myositis Ossificans is a benign ossifying soft-tissue lesion typically occurring within skeletal muscle. Patients are usually adolescents and young adults. Intraabdominal myositis ossificans is a very uncommon disorder. We experienced a case of myositis ossificans on the lateral wall of the left pelvis, which compressed left external iliac vein cause a deep vein thrombosis(DVT). A 68-year-old woman was admitted with a two-week history of severe lower abdominal pain and swelling of the left lower extrimety. The diagnosis was established with the Doppler ultrasound and pathologic examination. Several studies suggested that catheter-directed thrombolysis and stent placement are potentially attractive forms of therapy because they provide the opportunity for prompt restoration of venous patency and preservation of venous valve function. So we treated the deep vein thrombosis with catheter-directed thrombolysis and percutaneous transcatheter stent placement. We report a case of myositis ossificans presenting with DVT, who had a catheter-directed thrombolysis and percutaneous transcatheter stent placement.
4세대 가속기연구소 80 MW 클라이스트론 및 200MW 모듈레이터 운전 현황

포항가속기 연구소에서 4세대 가속기 건설을 2011년1월부터 시작하여 2015년 12월까지 완료하였으며 2016년 4월 말 4세대 선형가속기에서 요구하는 10 GeV 전자를 확인하였다. 4세대 전자 가속에 사용된 가속모듈은 Hard X-ray와 Soft X-ray를포함하여 51 모듈이다. 4세대 선형가속기에서 전자를 가속시키는 에너지원으로 사용하는 대전력 펄스 전원장치 중 Hard X-ray에설치된 49sets 모듈의 10 Hz, 4uS, SLED tune mode로 빔commissioning을 했으며 2017년부터 빔 사용자에게 4세대 빔을 제공하였으며 현재는 60 Hz, 4uS, SLED tune mode로 빔 사용자에게 제공하고 있다. 현재 운전중인 대전력 펄스 공급원인 클라이스트론-모듈레이터의 운전 현황에 대하여 발표하고자 한다.

This paper made circuit design and distribution so that fire alarm and emergency lightings in living room and emergency passage can be operated automatically by batteries built in the switchgear in case of power failure or fire in independent houses or small multi-family homes, pansions, and fire facilities are vulnerable and safely evacuated. Through the circuit design, the battery and fire circuit were built in addition to the commercial facilities of the distribution box so that the alarm would operate in conjunction with the entire building. In the event of a fire of a certain generation, all floors and all over the world were alerted, and emergency lights for evacuation in the event of fire or power failure were also illuminated. To protect the life of the battery, the battery consists of an anti-charge and an anti-charge circuit when charging, and an anti-discharge circuit when discharging. The DC circuit configuration is designed with safety considerations to cut off the battery supply in order to prevent loss of power or battery in the track during short circuits, open circuits, or short circuits. Demonstrated tests show that it has stable reliability.
적용성 향상을 위한 열 감지 방법의 분리기가 내장된 SPD 개발에 관한 연구

Disconnectors shall be installed in the Surge Protective Device(SPD) to respond to failure of the SPD. The disconnectors can be installed inside or outside of the SPDs, most of which are installed externally. In this paper, we conducted an experiment to compare the cases in which the disconnector was installed inside and outside of the SPD. The results of the experiment confirmed that the value of the voltage protection level(U<SUP>p</SUP>) decreases when installed internally. Installing the SPDs built-in disconnector in electrical circuits can further enhance the protection effect of electrical and electronic equipment from surge caused by lightning, etc. In addition, in order to prevent faults such as thermal runaway of MOV, which is a device of voltage-limited SPD, a comparison experiment was conducted with a conventional method using low-temperature lead and a method using heat-sensor element, and it was confirmed that the effect was equivalent to preventing overheating of MOV. As a result, the SPD developed in this paper reduced the manufacturing cost of SPD by using cheaper elements for heat detection methods, and has higher reliability by obtaining KS certification.

In this paper, to deveop the Live Line Detector by magnetic field measurement of 3 Axis, it used magnetic sensor as non-contacting type. Also, it detected to sensor signal using Lock-in Amp. with Phase Sensitive Detector and Line pass filter. As their development, it will use to detect the live power line in the underground high voltage distribution line.
