      • 일반화된 세선화 template의 중간층 노드의 축소에 관한 연구

        다층 퍼셉트론은 우수한 일반화 성능과 구현의 용이함 때문에 많은 문제에 사용되고 있다. 다층 퍼셉트론에서 사용되는 중간층 노드의 수는 적용되는 문제에 따라 달라지므로 문제의 복잡도에 따라 적정한 수의 중간층 노드를 설정하여야 한다. 그러나 적정한 수의 중간층 노드의 수를 학습을 시작하기 전에 미리 알아내는 것이 어려우므로 충분히 많은 중간층 노드를 사용하여 학습하다가 학습이 종료된 후에 불필요한 노드를 찾아내어 제거하는 방법을 일반적으로 이용한다. 본 논문에서는 이 문제를 다층 퍼셉트론을 이용하여 일반화된 세선화 template를 추출하는 실험에 적용하여 실험하였다. Multi-layer perceptron is used in many problem because its generalization performance is good and implementation is easy. The number of hidden node is different according to complexity of applied problem, so we must set suitable hidden node. But it is difficult that know suitable number of hidden node before learning, therefore, hidden node is reduced after learning. In this paper, node reduction algorithm is simulated on Generalized Template Matching (GTM) problem and optimized GTM is obtained.

      • 렙토스피라증의 진단에 있어 수동혈구응집반응법과 육안응집반응법의 정확도에 관한 연구

        Before 1984, Leptospirosis had been reported sporadically in middle inland of Korea as hemorrhagic pneumonia like disease, epidemic pulmonary hemorrhagic fever or epidemic pneumonitis since 1975. The epidemiologic characteristics of this disease were found out and the agent was isolated microbiologically after a large epidemic in 1984. Thereafter many consecutive studies for leptospirosis had been performed in the realm of epidemiology, microbiology and clinical field. But in order to appropriate control of Leptospirosis there are many problems such as organizing surveillance system for early diagnosis and treatment, identifying sero-group and serovar in each epidemic area and assessing vaccine efficacy. The objectives of this study was to find out easily applicable diagnostic methods to be used in a rural community surveillance system. Two diagnostic methods, passive hemagglutination(PHA) test and macroscopic agglutination test(maAT) were measured against their accuracies, sensitivity, specificity and predictive value of positive and negative. 301 sample sera from 270 human cases was collected through Leptospirossis surveillance system in a rural community during 1989-1992. Microscopic agglutination test(MAT) were used for confirmed diagnosis according to WHO guideline with 4 strains; Icterohemorrhagiae lai and Canicola canicola Hond Utrecht IV as standard strians and 6P-014-1 and YP-35-1 as strains isolated in Korea in 1986. The results are as follows. 1. 75(24.9%) among 301 sample sera and 49(18.1%) among 270 persons was serologically positive with MAT. 2. Agreement between PHA and MaAT was very low(k-coefficient≤0.252). 3. In PHA, specificity was very high(≥0.96) but sensitivity was very low(≤0.28). 4. In MaAT, specificity(≥0.73) was relatively lower than PHA but sensitivity (≥0.79) was significantly higher than PHA, especially false-positive rate case was absent in MAT's high antibody titer(above 1:640). It was concluded that MaAT method was a very useful diagnostic tool for early diagnosis of Leptospirosis in a rural community surveillance system, provided that confirmed diagnosis with MAT method be carried out in laboratory of medical school or research institute such as National Institute of Health or Provicial government Institute of Health and Environment.

      • 黃酸망간 水溶液으로부터 二酸化망간의 電解 合成

        A study on the electrolytic synthesis of manganese dioxide from manganese sulfate solution using a titanium anode under the constant applied potential condition has been made. To investigate an optimum condition for the electrolysis, it has been examined a relationship between electrolysis voltage and temperature, concentration of sulfuric acid and manganese sulfate. Also we have investigated the purity and the crystal structure of the deposited manganese dioxide. Maximum current efficiency was obtained at the conditions of electrolysis voltage ; 2.6~2.8V, average current density;0.96~1.2A/d㎡, sulfuric acid concentration ; 0.25~0.50M, manganese sulfate concentration ; 0.50~0.75M, temperature ; above 90℃. The current efficiency increased when current density increased at the low current density range of less than 1.2A/d㎡ and it made clear by X- ray diffraction analysis that the electrowinning manganese dioxides are γ - MnO_2, especially the activity of γ - MnO_2 is affected by current density and electrolysis temperature.

        'Domestic violence' is particular type of crime which is often executed mentally and physically by the husband toward the wife, or by the parent toward the child. The transaction of the government and the constabulary force is inevitable for this kind of crime. Most typically domestic violence falls in the category of 'beating of a wife by a husband', which is referred as 'wife battering'. Domestic violence often appears in western countries such as The United States, England, and Japan as well as in countries where socialism and communism prevail. Assumed as a cause of corrupting the family boundary, harmfully damaging the youth and eventually resulting in juvenile, inside-school crimes, domestic violence is causing serious social problems. It is apparent that the first appearance of the police force handling the crime scene will effect the consequences and the direction of the investigation. And in many circumstances the constabulary force can result in a wrongful effect to the family unit. Acknowledging the possible influences it is imperative that the police force need to intervene in the first crime scene with responsibility and with a active-negotiating position.

      • B형 간염 동반 원발성 간암 환자에서의 CYP2D6와 NAT2 다형현상에 관한 연구

        The CYP2D6 and N-acetyltransferase (NAT2) are polymorphic enzymes which are expressed in the hepatocyte in a genotype-determined manner. CYP2D6 and NAT2 are known to be involved in the inactivation and activation of various mutagens and carcinogens, respectively. The activities of the two enzyme systems are associated with the genetic susceptibility of many human cancers. This study was performed to determine the genotype frequencies of the two enzyme systems in primary hepatocellular carcinoma patients and healthy controls. One hundred healthy controls and 55 liver cancer patients were analyzed by polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphism(PCR-RFLP). The results are as followings:1. In the healthy controls, CYP2D6 wild type allele frequency was 0.985 and CYP2D6^*4 frequency was 0.015, and no CYP2D6 poor-metabolizer was detected. No significant differences were found in hepatocellular carcinoma patient group. 2. Frequencies of F, S1, S2 and S3 alleles of NAT2 system were 0.725, 0.01, 0.14 and 0.125 in controls, respectively. The genotype frequencies were found to be 0.91 of rapid acetylator and 0.09 of slow acetylator. No significant differences were found in hepatocellular carcinoma patient group. 3. These results suggest that the distribution of CYP2D6 and NAT2 polymorphisms is very unique in Korean populations characterized by extremely low frequency of CYP2D6 poor-metabolizer and NAT2 slow acetylator. CYP2D6 and NAT2 polymorphisms seemed not to play an important role in the hepatic carcinogenesis in Korean population.

      • Comparative Genomic Hybridization 기법을 이용한 한국인 원발성 간세포암에서의 염색체 변화에 대한 연구

        Comparative genomic hybridization(CGH) technique is one of the screening tests for DNA sequence copy number changes(losses, deletions, gains, amplifications) in tumor genomes. DNA changes in 23 hepatocellular carcinomas(HCC) associated with hepatitis B virus(HBV) were analyzed by CGH technique. Eighteen of the 23 cases showed genetic alterations. The remaining 5 cases showed no detectagble aberration. The losses of chromosome regions 17p(74%), 4q (57%), 16p (52%), 16q (48%), 8p (43%) and 13q (43%) were detected in the order of decreasing frequency. In cases of multiple losses of chromosomes, a combination of 17p,16p,16q,4q, and 8p losses was found in 5 cases (30%). On the other hand, chromosomal gains occurred on 1q (65%), 8q (52%), 20p (48%) and 20q (43%) in the order of decreasing frequency. And the simultaneous genomic gains of these 4 chromosomes were found in 9 cases (40%). Moreover, the combination of 5 genomic losses (17p, 16p, 16q, 4q, & 8p) and 4 genomic gains (1q, 8q, 20p, & 20q) was observed in 4 case s(23%). The pattern of chromosomal gains and losses in HCC with hepatitis B in Korean patients is very complex and involves virtually every site in the genome. This indicated a high genomic instability. This could possibly be explained either as the result of random chromosomal changes during early development of tumor, or as the highly variable and random pattern of integration of HBV in the HCC. The hepatocarcinogenesis may be the result of cumulative effocts rather than those orders of occurrence of those genomic changes. The sites of cellular DNA at which HBV integrates frequently undergo rearrangements, resulting in translocations, inverted duplications, deletions, and possibly recombinational events. But, CGH only detects changes of chromosomal copy number but could not identify translocations, inversions, and other aberrations of chromosome. The chromosomal analysis of HCC with HBV in Korean patients by CGH technique confirms the presence of complex and sporadic, but nonrandom genetic changes in the chromosome. In the future, more detailed oncogenic study could be carried out on the chromosomes which showed abnormal aberrations through this study.

        디젤오염 지하수 정화를 위한 공기주입정화법 칼럼 실험

        Bio sparging experiments were conducted in a laboratory column to investigate the potential removal of diesel contaminated groundwater. The objectives in this study were (a) to determine the extent of diesel degradation in laboratory columns under supplement of nutrient; (b) to determine the effect of variation of air flow in the removal of diesel and (c) to evaluate the potential enhancement of diesel degradation as a function of temperature. Our results showed that the nutrient supplement and higher air flow greatly enhanced diesel degradation. However, the variation of water temperature examined slightly increased degradation rate of diesel fuel.

        공황장애에서 Paroxetine 단기약물치료가 심리적 상태에 미치는 영향

        Objectives : This study was designed to evaluate clinical effect of paroxetine treatment and to explore psychological Pre-dictors of treatment response. Methods : Patients (n=26) who met DSM-IV criteria for panic disorder with or without agoraphobia were treated by Pa-roxetine for 12 weeks. We assessed symptom improvement using Clinical Global Impression (CGI), and clinical characteristics using Anxiety Sen&itivity Index (ASI), Anxious Thoughts and Tendencies (AT & T), Agoraphobic Cognition Questionnaire (ACQ), Body Sensation Questionnaire (BSQ), Beck Anxiety Inventory (BAI), and Beck Depression Inventory (BDI). T-test, correlation analysis, and stepwise multiple regression analysis were performed. Results : Panic patients showed significant improvement in seventy of illness and each clinical characteristic after 12 weeks of paroxetine treatment. There were significant correlations among severity of illness, anxiety, and depression, and subjective seventy was related with catastrophic thoughts. The more catastrophic thoughts and the higher sensitivity of body sensation, Patients had the worse symptom improvement they shorved. Multiple regression analysis showed that catastrophic thought related to agoraphobia was the best predictor of symptom improvement (22%). Conclusion : This study suggests that short-term treatment of paroxetine is effective in panic disorder with or without ago-raphobia, and that catastrophic thought could be a predictor of poor treatment response. Thus cognitive intervention on Catastro-phic thoughts may play an important role in symptom improvement in panic disorder.
