        This paper explores the presence and distinctive characteristics of traditional Chinese tragic aesthetics by comparing them with Western tragic aesthetics. Contrary to the belief that traditional Chinese tragedy is less developed, this study validates the existence of a mature form of Chinese tragic art. The analysis focuses on both the common and unique aspects of traditional Chinese tragic aesthetics, acknowledging their shared essence with Western tragic aesthetics while highlighting their distinct attributes. The study begins by discussing the universality of tragic awareness in human culture, emphasizing the human struggle against adversity and the transcendent effect that both Chinese and Western tragic aesthetics evoke. However, the study underscores that due to China's historical, cultural, and social differences with the West, traditional Chinese tragic aesthetics possess unique qualities. It notes that the sources of traditional Chinese tragic narratives are diverse and often depict characters from lower socioeconomic backgrounds, reflecting the influence of urbanization and economic development on the preferences of the audience. Furthermore, itobserves that many traditional Chinese tragedies conclude with a happy ending or resolution, a reflection of the Confucian principle of maintaining balance and harmony. The study also highlights the collective spirit in Chinese tragic aesthetics, closely linked to Confucian ethical values. The paper concludes by reiterating the confirmation of traditional Chinese tragic aesthetics' existence and distinctiveness, contrary to claims of its weakness. It emphasizes the need to consider both the shared and unique elements of tragic aesthetics in the study of traditional Chinese tragedy, correcting the misconception that Chinese tragedy is absent. Overall, this research underscores the significance of comprehensively exploring the universal and specific aspects of Chinese traditional tragic aesthetics within its historical and cultural context.

        Review on oxidative desulfurization of fuel by supported heteropolyacid catalysts

        Desulfurization of fuel has been an important issue in fuel refining process. Hydrodesulfurization, as atraditional and commercial desulfurization technique for removing sulfur compounds, has been widelyresearched for decades. But as the environmental policy implemented on fuel becoming stricter, it ismore difficult to remove organic sulfur compounds by hydrodesulfurization technology. Therefore, nonhydrodesulfurizationtechnologies developed rapidly in recent years. Among all novel desulfurizationtechnologies, oxidative desulfurization (ODS) functions best with its mild reaction condition and efficientdesulfurization capacity. Heteropolyacid (HPA) has been intensively investigated because the HPA hasdiscrete ionic structure and high proton mobility, which makes it extremely promising in catalysis. As aresult, HPA has been applied in a variety of synthetically selective transformations of organic substancesand the ODS is one of them. However, HPA have shortcomings such as their high solubility in polarsolvents and low specific surface area. To overcome these problems, many works have been done tocombine heteropolyacids with other materials. The main derivatives of HPA used in ODS are supportedheteropolyacid, phase transfer heteropolyacid catalyst and polyoxometalate based ionic liquid. Thecatalytic activity and reusability of HPA are substantially increased after modification. The works onheteropolyaicds for ODS from 2010 to 2019 will be summarized in this review.

        A multilevel analysis of the effects of disciplinary climate strength on student reading performance

        Climate strength was first conceptualised in the organisational psychology literature as the within-group agreement on the perceptions of climate. In contrast to the deep study of climate level, climate strength has not been clarified by school climate research. The purpose of this cross-cultural study is to identify the main effect of disciplinary climate strength on student reading performance, and its moderating effect on the relationship between disciplinary climate level and student reading performance. A multilevel analysis was conducted on 2009 data from the Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA) from Shanghai-China, Japan, and the United States (US). The result showed a significantly positive relationship between climate strength and student reading performance in Shanghai-China and the US. Moreover, a moderating effect of climate strength was found in Shanghai-China and the US. The effects of climate strength were further examined in strong and weak conditions. School-level predictors of climate strength were also examined. The differences in disciplinary climate strengths and their effects on student reading performance suggested some culture differences in these countries/areas.

        The Effects of Estrogen Receptor Locus on Reproductive Tracts Components and Performance Traits in Large White×Meishan F2 Offspring

        Previously candidate gene approach revealed estrogen receptor (ESR) locus was associated with increased litter size. In this study, PvuII polymorphisms of ESR gene was detected by PCR-RFLP, and ESR locus was evaluated for its association with reproductive tracts components in the Large $White{\times}Meishan$ ($LW{\times}M$) F2 offspring. Ninety seven gilts with reproductive tracts components records and 136 offspring with performance traits records were genotyped and the results were used to estimate allele substitution effects. The results showed that two alleles (A and B) were identified, and 121 bp fragments were observed for the AA genotype and 65 bp and 56 bp fragments for the BB genotype; the length of uterine body (LUB) of BB gilts were significantly shorter than AA gilts', the additive effect was -1.762 cm; the uterine weight (UW) of AB gilts were significantly lighter than AA gilts' with the additive effect -18.058 g; no significant associations of ESR alleles with ovulation rate (OR), length of uterine horn (LUH), length of uterine cervix (LUC), weight of two ovaries (OW), volume of uterine lumen (VUL), length of oviduct (LO) were observed. BB genotypes gilts need significantly less days to 100 kg ($D_{100kg}$) than AA genotypes (p<0.01), the additive effect was per copy of B allele. Allele B is also favorable for average daily gain (ADG), with additive effect 0.015 kg/d (p<0.05). There was no difference between genotypes for backfat thickness at the 13th rib (SF13), loin meat height (ELMH), and loin meat percentage was estimated (ELMP), individual birth weight (IBW) and teat number (TN).

        Frequencies, Inheritance of Porcine FSH-${\beta}$ Retroposon and its Association with Reproductive Traits

        The fragment in intron I of FSH-${\beta}$ gene was amplified by PCR. According to the polymorphism, we analyzed the distribution of FSH-${\beta}$ retroposon in different pig breeds; its inheritance pattern in Large White${\times}$Meishan reference family; and the association of FSH-${\beta}$ retroposon with litter size, female reproductive organs measurement, ultrasonic backfat and other traits. The results showed that almost each Chinese indigenous pig had the retroposon, while foreign pig breeds rarely had; the frequencies of porcine FSH-${\beta}$ retroposon were strongly associated with breeds (p<0.01); the pattern of inheritance was consistent with Mendelian fashion; total number born (TNB) and number born alive (NBA) were increased per FSH-${\beta}$ retroposon (p<0.01) with additive effects of 1.2-1.8 and 1.4-1.8 pigs/litter, respectively; between the FSH-${\beta}$ retroposon carriers and non-carriers, there was an insignificant difference in the measurement of female reproductive organs, body weight at birth, backfat thickness, loin meat height, lean meat percentage, teat number, days to 100 kg, and average daily gain.

      • Academic Management and Analysis Method of MOOC

        MOOC (Massive Open Online Courses), is a new mode of distance education courses based on the Internet technology. To solve problems in MOOC, such as lacks of management, supervision and comprehensive evaluation etc., this paper aims to study MOOC academic management and analysis method in contexts of colleges and universities. To supervise and trace students’ learning process, an academic management system of MOOC was constructed. To assess and predict students’ learning trends and achievements, an academic analysis model was established based on learning and interaction data analysis. Experimental results prove the above method insures expected learning effects when applying MOOC in colleges and universities.

        Description of Microbacterium luteum sp. nov., Microbacterium cremeum sp. nov., and Microbacterium atlanticum sp. nov., three novel C50 carotenoid producing bacteria

        We have identified three Microbacterium strains, A18JL200T, NY27T, and WY121T, that produce C50 carotenoids. Taxonomy shows they represent three novel species. These strains shared < 98.5% 16S rRNA gene sequence identity with each other and were closely related to Microbacterium aquimaris JCM 15625T, Microbacterium yannicii JCM 18959T, Microbacterium ureisolvens CFH S00084T, and Microbacterium hibisci CCTCC AB 2016180T. Digital DNA-DNA hybridization (dDDH) values and average nucleotide identity (ANI) showed differences among the three strains and from their closest relatives, with values ranging from 20.4% to 34.6% and 75.5% to 87.6%, respectively. These values are below the threshold for species discrimination. Both morphology and physiology also differed from those of phylogenetically related Microbacterium species, supporting that they are indeed novel species. These strains produce C50 carotenoids (mainly decaprenoxanthin). Among the three novel species, A18JL200T had the highest total yield in carotenoids (6.1 mg/L or 1.2 mg/g dry cell weight). Unusual dual isoprenoid biosynthetic pathways (methylerythritol phosphate and mevalonate pathways) were annotated for strain A18JL200T. In summary, we found strains of the genus Microbacterium that are potential producers of C50 carotenoids, but their genome has to be investigated further.

        Malnutrition worsens fluorosis-induced damage in hypothalamic-pituitary-ovarian axis of rats

        Backgrounds: This study aimed to evaluate the effects of malnutrition on the hypothalamic-pituitary-ovarian axis (HPOA) sex hormones in female rats with coal burning-type fluorosis. Methods: Female rats were divided into four groups: control, malnutrition, fluorosis, and fluorosis with malnutrition. Rats in the control and malnutrition groups were fed pollution-free corn with either regular or low protein content. Rats in the fluorosis and fluorosis with malnutrition groups were fed corn roasted with coals from the fluorosis endemic areas of Zhijin, China,with either regular or low protein content. Results: Results revealed that the body weight of rats with protein malnutrition was significantly reduced compared with that of the control and fluorosis rats. Urinary fluoride was significantly decreased and bone fluoride was significantly increased in the fluorosis with malnutrition group compared to the fluorosis group. Moreover, protein malnutrition significantly enhanced the effect of fluoride on gonadotropin-releasing hormone, follicle-stimulating hormone, luteinizing hormone, and testosterone. Histological and ultrastructural analyses revealed that protein malnutrition intensified fluoride-induced ovary damage. Conclusion: Malnourishment could promote the abnormal secretion of HPOA sex hormones in females with fluorosis.

        Emission properties of sequentially deposited ultrathin CH3NH3PbI3/MoS2 heterostructures

        Hybrid organic-inorganic perovskite materials have obtained considerable attention due to their exotic optoelectronic properties and extraordinarily high performance in photovoltaic devices. Herein, we successively converted the ultrathin PbI2/MoS2 into the CH3NH3PbI3/MoS2 heterostructures via CH3NH3I vapor processing. Atomic force microscopy (AFM)、Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and X-ray photoemission spectroscopy (XPS) measurements prove the high-quality of the converted CH3NH3PbI3/MoS2. Both MoS2 and CH3NH3PbI3 related photoluminescence (PL) intensity quenching in CH3NH3PbI3/MoS2 implies a Type-II energy level alignment at the interface. Temperature-dependent PL measurements show that the emission peak position shifting trend of CH3NH3PbI3 is opposite to that of MoS2 (traditional semiconductors) due to the thermal expansion and electron-phonon coupling effects. The CH3NH3PbI3/TMDC heterostructures are useful in fabricating innovative devices for wider optoelectronic applications.

        Construction of Genetic Microsatellite Maps for Some Chromosomes in Chinese Swine Reference Population

        In aiming to identify the genes or genetic regions responsible for quantitative traits, a swine reference population had been constructed using three Large White boars and seven Meishan dams as parents. Five $F_1$ males and 23 $F_1$ females were intercrossed to generate 147 $F_2$ offspring. Thirty-one microsatellite markers covering Sus scrofa chromosomes (SSC) 2, 4, 6 and 7 were genotyped for all members. Construction of genetic microsatellite maps was performed using the CRIMAP software package. The lengths of these chromosomes were longer than MARC maps. They were 158.6cM, 180.3cM, 197.3cM and 171.4cM, respectively. A two modified orders of markers were observed for SSC6 and SSC7. The female map on SSC6 was shorter than male map, and the contrary was on SSC 2, 4 and 7.
