      • Moving Object Detection with High Precision via Marked Watershed and Image Morphology

Qingqing Fu,Silin Xu,Aiping Wu 보안공학연구지원센터 2016 International Journal of Signal Processing, Image Vol.9 No.11

This paper presents a non-stationary object detection method by exploring time-varying spatial domain information in full motion video. Initially, the edge maps of difference image between two adjacent frames and current frame is generated via the well-known Canny edge detector. The distance of the edge pixels between the difference image and the current video frame are confined within a small value to determine the initial edge mask for the object in motion. The horizontal and vertical filling followed by morphological opening and closing operator are applied on the initial edge mask to create initial temporal segmentation mask of the moving object. The morphological dilation and corrosion operator are utilized to obtain binary marker image of the foreground and background which are used to modify the multi-scale morphological gradient image of current frame. Finally, the watershed algorithm is performed on the modified gradients to find the non-stationary objects accurately in the spatial domain of motion frames. Processed video results show detection accuracy of 98% and 99% for four different video experimentation test-beds involving fast and slow human motion. In this operation, the proposed technique eliminates the problem of over-segmentation of the watershed algorithm and extracts visually distinct, contextually meaningful non-stationary objects as they randomly appear (or disappear) in video sequences.

The evolution of microstructure and resistance in electroplated copper films by linear integrated laser scanning annealing

        Lingyue Tan,Silin Han,Shuhui Chen,Tao Hang,Huiqin Ling,Yunwen Wu,Ming Li 대한금속·재료학회 2021 ELECTRONIC MATERIALS LETTERS Vol.17 No.2

Thermal treatment is an effective way to decrease the resistivity and internal stress by inducing grain growth accompaniedwith redistribution of embedded impurities. With the narrowing of Cu interconnects in IC packaging, the increased resistanceis becoming the main issue that hindering the electrical performance of IC. Herein, a laser annealing method by linerscanning (LALS) to anneal the Cu interconnects were reported which provide a gradient thermal field for the crystallographic/microstructure transition. The impacts of laser annealing on the sheet resistance of the electroplating Cu films wereinvestigated in aspects of microstructure and phase field simulation. Cu films treated by LALS owned larger average grainsize, better recrystallization fraction, and significantly higher average grain aspect ratio than conventional annealing, whichindicated the increased driving force for grain boundaries evolution by LALS method. This study exhibited the direct evidenceon the impacts of laser annealing process on the resistance of electroplated Cu films. The laser annealing process witha local temperature gradient caused a significant decline in Cu electrical resistance compared to the conventional annealingprocess, indicating its extraordinary potential in improving Cu wire conductivity. This work will provide a scientific basis forselecting the post-treatment process for electrodeposited Cu films to achieve ideal electrical properties and microstructurein electronics industry applications.

LncRNA CRNDE Promotes the Progression of B-cell Precursor Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia by Targeting the miR-345-5p/CREB Axis

        Weimin Wang,Feifei Wu,Ping Ma,Silin Gan,Xue Li,Li Chen,Ling Sun,Hui Sun,Zhongxing Jiang,Feng Guo 한국분자세포생물학회 2020 Molecules and cells Vol.43 No.8

The imbalance between the proliferation and apoptosis of B-cell precursors is an important contributor to the pathogenesis of B-cell precursor acute lymphoblastic leukemia (BCP-ALL), while its specific regulatory mechanism remains perplexing. This study aimed to expound the underlying mechanism of the proliferation and apoptosis of BCP-ALL cells from the perspective of non-coding RNA. In this study, long non-coding RNA colorectal neoplasia differentially expressed (LncRNA CRNDE) was upregulated in the bone marrow of BCP-ALL patients and BCP-ALL cell lines (NALM-6 and RS4;11). Functionally, LncRNA CRNDE knockdown restrained cell proliferation and boosted cell apoptosis in NALM-6 and RS4;11 cells. The subsequent investigation confirmed that LncRNA CRNDE bound to miR-345-5p and negatively regulated miR-345-5p expression. The overexpression of miR-345-5p suppressed cell proliferation and boosted cell apoptosis in NALM-6 and RS4;11 cells. Further experiments revealed that miR-345-5p downregulated cyclic AMP response element-binding protein (CREB) expression by targeting its mRNA directly. CREB overexpression reversed the effect of miR-345-5p mimic on cell proliferation and apoptosis in NALM-6 and RS4;11 cells. Finally, in vivo experiments showed that LncRNA CRNDE knockdown prolonged the survival of mice xenotransplanted with NALM-6 cells. In conclusion, LncRNA CRNDE upregulated CREB expression by suppressing miR-345-5p, thus promoting cell proliferation and reducing cell apoptosis in BCP-ALL.

      • A Multi-Criteria Decision-Making Approach for Identifying Critical Factors of Chinese Students’ Learning in Study Abroad

Hsin-I LEE,Tzu-Yu LIN,Silin WU,Sheng-Hsiung CHIU 한국유통과학회 2018 KODISA ICBE (International Conference on Business Vol.2018 No.-

China is the largest international students exporting country in the world. Base on the economic globalization and trade liberalization, the international talents cultivation, and how to assure their quality of higher education are important to China. This paper aims at finding out the dimensions influencing the quality of studying abroad. To obtain the weight and influential degree of the dimensions, we identify four criteria and sub-criteria mainly from the literatures related to learning quality in higher education and cross-cultural communication. To handle the inter-relations among the identified criteria and sub-criteria, we proposed a multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) approach based on Decision Making Trial and Evaluation Laboratory based Analytic Network Process (DANP). This paper established how the obtained results will help the teachers in higher education system and Ministry of Education to optimize their improvement plans.

Simple Filter Cake Formation Test Method Using a Geotextile instead of the Sand Stratum

        Yongjin Qian,Wei Zhu,Ning Zhang,Fanlu Min,Silin Wu 대한토목학회 2022 KSCE Journal of Civil Engineering Vol.26 No.1

Slurries and filter cakes are widely used to support the earth pressure and water pressure of an excavation surface to maintain stability. Most major projects of slurry shield need to carry out filter cake formation tests to study the availability of slurry parameters. Nevertheless, it takes considerable testing and lengthy preparation of sand to simulate a stratum, therefore this paper examines a filter cake formation test method in which a geotextile is used to replace the sand stratum. Using the geotextile as a known filter medium, the quantitative relationship is studied between the membrane and the simulated sand, to examine whether the same experimental results can be obtained as using the simulated sand. A series of filter cake formation tests were carried out on four different sands and five different geotextiles with four different slurries and then the filter membrane properties were measured to explore the potential of the geotextile alternative for filter cake formation. The results show that the infiltration process of slurry in sand and geotextile was similar, and slurry infiltration occurred both with and without filter cake. 0.8 times apparent opening size of geotextile could be used to replace the characteristic pore diameter of the sand stratum (0.8AOS = D0) for the filter cake formation tests. The filter cakes on sand stratum and the substituted geotextile had similar properties, such as thickness and water content.
