The purpose of this study was to determine pharmacokinetic parameters of BR-28702-2, a new antineoplastic agent which is the conjugate of nucleotide and phospholipid, and to compare them with those of ara-C. Male rats were cannulated in the left femoral vein and received a single i.v. bolus dose of either BR-28702-2 or ara-C. BR-28702-2 was also administered i.p. and plasma samples were analyzed by reversed-phase HPLC. The t_(L/2(β)) of ara-C(1.22 hr.) was significantly smaller than that of BR-28702-2(4.420 hr.). The absolute bioavailability of BR-28702-2 after i.p. injection was 1.125%. This lower bioavailability, together with previous reports that marked antineoplastic activity was observed when given i.p., indicates that BR-28702-2 would act as a depot system to release active moieties. Further works. therefore, need to be done to characterize active metabolites.

Through measuring intensity of relative movement and change of blood in relation with strokes of pulse on male gymnast team, by grasping with quantitative and qualitative level of training/movement by types of gymnastics, this study is aimed to contributing to formulating the physiological operating programs for male gymnasts. For the study and survey, four gymnasts of Korean national representative team were picked up here. The result were summarized as follows: 1. Pulsation during stable status was 59.±6.68bpm in average showing a normal level. 13bpm in average showing a low level was caused by effect of sustained training coupled with gymnasts' career record. 2. Intensity of relative movement by pulsation. 1) Pulsation at the time of three minutes of movement/training mounted to a maximum of 110-130 strokes(36-51% Hrmax), and a minimum was 80-84 strokes (15-18% HRmax). Level of relative movement intensity indicated a maximum 51% HRmax and a minimum 15%HRmax. 2) In case of extending the movement/playing, pulsation mounted to a maximum 109-167 strokes(37-79% HRmax) against a minimum of 98-114strokes(29-40%HRmax). Level of relative movement intensity indicated a maximum of 78.40% HRmax and a minimum of 28% HRmax. 3) In case of intervals, pulsation mounted to a maximum 131-167 strokes (52-78% HRmax) against a minimum of 85-97 strokes (20-27% HRmax). Level of relative movement intensity marked a maximum of 27% HRmax and a minimum of 19% HRmax respectively. 3. As for blood chnage on male gymnast team after playing three (3) types of after completion of 6 types in comparison with stable time period, there appeared some advantageous composition of blood; R B C (p<0.05), W B C (p<0.01), Glucose (p<0.01), LA (p<0.05). On the other hand there was a far increased trend of Hct, Hb, Albumin Cholesterol and Na+. There was no beneficial and K+ tends to reduce. And yet there was no beneficial natures therein.

<P>Transglutaminase 2 (TGase2) is a ubiquitously expressed enzyme that catalyzes irreversible post-translational modification of protein, forming cross-linked protein aggregates. We previously reported that intracellular TGase2 is activated by oxidative stress. To elucidate the functional role of TGase2 activation in cells under the oxidatively stressed condition, we identified the mediator that activates TGase2. In this study, we showed that low levels of oxidative stress trigger the release of TGFbeta, which subsequently activates TGase2 through the nuclear translocation of Smad3. Analysis of substrate proteins reveals that TGase2-mediated protein modification results in a decrease of protein solubility and a collapse of intermediate filament network, which leads to aggregation of proteins. We confirm these results using lens tissues from TGase2-deficient mice. Among several antioxidants tried, only N-acetylcysteine effectively inhibits TGFbeta-mediated activation of TGase2. These results indicate that TGFbeta mediates oxidative stress-induced protein aggregation through activation of TGase2 and suggest that the formation of protein aggregation may not be a passive process of self-assembly of oxidatively damaged proteins but may be an active cellular response to oxidative stress. Therefore, TGFbeta-TGase2 pathway may have implications for both the pathogenesis of age-related degenerative diseases and the development of pharmaceutics.</P>

이 연구는 미국 미네소타대학 인구학센터에서 제공하는 IPUMS-International 자료 중 브라질 센서스를 활용하여 브라질 한인의 상이한 이민 시기가 그들의 이주와 정착과정에 가지는 함의를 고찰하였다. 구체적으로 가장 최신 자료인 2010년 브라질 센서스에서 한인들을 추출한 후에 여섯 개의 이민시기별로 인구의 크기, 이민당시의 평균 나이, 시민권자의 비율, 주택소유 현황, 직업 및 종사산업의 분포 등을 비교함으로써 브라질 한인들의 사회·인구학적인 특징의 변화에 영향을 미친 거시적이고도 구조적인 맥락을 살펴보고자 하였다. 이 연구에서 도출된 분석결과는 구술생애사 등 미시적인 분석에서 관찰된 브라질 한인 개개인이 현지 정착 과정에서 겪은 경험의 차이가 상이한 이민시기로 대표되는 송출국과 유입국간의 관계 및 역사적 배경의 변화 등 구조적 차원의 개입으로 보다 더 잘 설명될 수 있음을 보여주고 있다. 이 연구가 관련분야에 기여할 수 있는 점은 그 동안 중남미 지역의 한인 디아스포라에 대한 학술적인 접근이 주로 소규모의 인터뷰나 구술생애사 방법 등을 통해서 미시적인 측면에서 다루어진 한계를 극복하고 대표성이 확보된 대규모의 센서스 자료를 분석함으로써 브라질 한인의 이주와 정착과정을 구성하는 거시적인 측면의 이해를 확장하는 것이다. Utilizing the micro-sample data of the 2010 Brazilian Census provided by IPUMS-International, our study compares socio-demographic characteristics of Korean immigrants in Brazil by their different eras of immigration. After extracting Korean immigrants from the Brazilian census by six different immigration eras(before the 60s; 60s; 70s; 80s; 90s; post-90s), the size of population, age at arrival, citizenship status, occupational distribution, and other variables are compared side by side. The results from this study suggest that different historical and macroeconomic contexts, captured by the six different immigration eras, significantly exert influences on the adaptation process of the immigrants. This study also provides us with an opportunity to overcome the limitations of the existing diaspora studies mainly based upon historical and qualitative data. In this regard, our study, with an empirical analysis of large representative sample data, suggests a number of important directions for future research on Korean immigrants in Brazil.

We measure the hemodynamic responses during the 4 kinds of tasks on the motor cortex in the right and left human brain by using near-infrared spectroscopy. The experimental results show that the change of concentration of oxy-hemoglobin is larger than that of deoxy-hemoglobin and the change of concentration of chromophores induced by finger and arm related task show more activations than that of leg.
