<P>Kawasaki disease (KD) is an acute febrile vasculitis predominately affecting infants and children. The dominant incidence age of KD is from 6 months to 5 years of age, and the incidence is unusual in those younger than 6 months and older than 5 years of age. We tried to identify genetic variants specifically associated with KD in patients younger than 6 months or older than 5 years of age. We performed an age-stratified genome-wide association study using the Illumina HumanOmni1-Quad BeadChip data (296 cases vs. 1,000 controls) and a replication study (1,360 cases vs. 3,553 controls) in the Korean population. Among 26 candidate single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) tested in replication study, only a rare nonsynonymous SNP (rs4365796: c.1106C>T, p.Thr369Met) in the lymphoid enhancer binding factor 1 (<I>LEF1</I>) gene was very significantly associated with KD in patients younger than 6 months of age (odds ratio [OR], 3.07; p<SUB>combined</SUB> = 1.10 × 10<SUP>-5</SUP>), whereas no association of the same SNP was observed in any other age group of KD patients. The same SNP (rs4365796) in the <I>LEF1</I> gene showed the same direction of risk effect in Japanese KD patients younger than 6 months of age, although the effect was not statistically significant (OR, 1.42; p = 0.397). This result indicates that the <I>LEF1</I> gene may play an important role as a susceptibility gene specifically affecting KD patients younger than 6 months of age.</P>

<P><B>Abstract</B></P><P>Ligand-bound nuclear receptors (NRs) recruit coactivators such as members of the p160 steroid receptor coactivator (SRC) family and cyclic AMP responsive element binding protein (CREB)-binding protein (CBP) to specific enhancer elements and activate target gene transcription. In the present study, we isolated a novel SRC from the sea urchin <I>Strongylocentrotus nudus</I> (SnSRC) by using the ligand-binding domain of retinoid X receptor as a bait in a yeast two-hybrid screening. The SnSRC and vertebrate SRCs are different in size but share the overall characteristic domains, such as NR interacting domain (NID), CBP-binding and glutamine-rich regions. <I>SnSRC</I> mRNA showed highest expression levels at the 32-cell, 64-cell and pluteus larval stages. Full-length SnSRC (1992 amino acids) interacted with several NRs, including sea urchin estrogen receptor-related receptor (ERR), human and masu salmon estrogen receptors (ERα), mouse ERRγ, rat glucocorticoid receptor α, and rat thyroid receptor β. The SnSRC possesses two functional NIDs, both of which are dependent on their core LxxLL motifs. Furthermore, preferential interacting domains for ERα in the SnSRC are located in the central LxxLL motifs, revealed by the truncation and mutagenesis studies. Strikingly, the SnSRC has a single transcription activation domain, which interacts with CBP, a transcriptional integrator. In addition, transient knockdown of the <I>SnSRC</I> gene in the sea urchin embryo using morpholino antisense RNA induced abnormal phenotypes at gastrulation stage such as the lack of primary invagitation and exogastrulation. These results suggest that the SnSRC is a new member of the SRC family and plays an important role during early embryonic development.</P>
Assessment of risk factors for Korean children with Kawasaki disease.

<P>Kawasaki disease (KD) is the most common cause of acquired heart disease in children. Intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIG) is the standard therapy for KD, but more than 10% of KD patients do not respond to IVIG and are at high risk for the development of coronary artery lesions (CALs). To identify clinical and genetic risk factors associated with CAL development and IVIG nonresponsiveness, this study analyzed the clinical data for 478 Korean KD patients. Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that incomplete KD, IVIG nonresponse, fever duration of 7??days or longer, and the CC/AC genotypes of the rs7604693 single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) in the PELI1 gene were significantly associated with the development of CALs, with odds ratios (ORs) ranging from 2.06 to 3.04. The risk of CAL formation was synergistically increased by the addition of individual risk factors, particularly the genetic variant in the PELI1 gene. Multivariate analysis also showed that a serum albumin level of 3.6??g/dl or lower was significantly associated with nonresponsiveness to IVIG [OR, 2.76; 95% confidence interval (CI), 1.34-5.68; P??=??0.006]. Conclusively, incomplete KD, IVIG nonresponsiveness, long febrile days, and the rs7604693 genetic variant in the PELI1 gene are major risk factors for the development of CALs, whereas low serum albumin concentration is an independent risk factor for IVIG nonresponsiveness.</P>
유아교사의 성인애착이 교사효능감 및 공감능력에 미치는 영향

유아교사의 성인애착과 교사효능감 및 공감능력은 유아와의 상호작용과 교육활동에 많은 영향을 미친다. 본 연구는 유아교사의 성인애착, 교사효능감, 공감능력 간의 관계성을 분석하고, 유아교사의 성인애착이 교사효능감과 공감능력에 미치는 영향을 알아보는 데 목적이 있다. 연구대상은 G시의 유아교육기관에 재직 중인 교사 216명이었으며, ‘성인애착’, ‘교사효능감’, ‘공감능력’ 검사도구를 활용하여 연구자료를 수집하였다. 수집한 자료는 SPSS 22.0 프로그램을 활용하여 Pearson의 상관계수와 단계적 회귀분석으로 분석하였다. 연구결과, 첫째, 유아교사의 성인애착과 교사효능감 및 공감능력 간에 부적상관이 있는 것으로 나타났으나 하위영역에서는 성인애착과 교사효능감의 일반효능감 간에는 상관이 없는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 유아교사의 성인애착이 교사효능감과 개인효능감에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으며, 성인애착의 하위영역인 회피애착이 일반효능감에 영향을 미치는 요인으로 밝혀졌다. 또한 성인애착이 공감능력과 하위영역인 인지공감과 정서공감에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 연구결과는 유아교사의 성인애착이 교사효능감과 공감능력에 큰 영향을 미치는 변인임을 알 수 있으며, 유아교사의 교사효능감과 공감능력을 향상시키기 위해서는 교사의 안정적인 성인애착이 중요함을 시사하고 있다. Adult attachment, teacher efficacy, and empathy of early childhood teachers have a great influence on interaction with young children and educational activities. The purpose of this study is to analyze the relationship between early childhood teacher’s attachment, teacher efficacy and empathy ability and to examine the effect of early childhood teacher’s attachment on teacher efficacy and empathy ability. The subjects of the study were 216 teachers in childcare center and kindergarten in G city. ‘Adult Attachment’, ‘Teacher Efficacy’, and ‘Empathy’ were used to collect research data. The collected data were analyzed by Pearson’s correlation coefficient and stepwise regression analysis using SPSS 22.0 program. The results of this study were as follows: First, there was negative correlation between early childhood teacher’s attachment, teacher efficacy and empathy ability, but there was no correlation between general attachment efficacy and adult attachment. Second, adult attachment affects teacher efficacy and personal efficacy, and affection attachment, which is a sub-domain of adult attachment, was found to be a factor affecting general efficacy. Also, it was found that adult attachment affects empathy ability and sub-domain, which is emotional empathy. The results of this study suggest that the adult attachment of early childhood teachers has a significant influence on teacher efficacy and empathy ability. In order to improve teacher efficacy and empathy ability of early childhood teachers, it is suggested that stable adult attachment is important.
Contourlet의 이변수 가우시안 모델을 이용한 영상의 잡음 감소

본 논문에서는 contourlet 변환을 이용하여 잡음을 제거하는 방법을 제안한다. 영상 센서의 발전으로 이미지의 해상도가 좋아지는 반면 잡음에 민감해진다. 그러므로 이를 전처리 단계에서 처리해주는 것이 필요하다. 잡음은 주로 자연 영상의 윤곽선에서 민감하게 반응하기 때문에 고주파대의 잡음을 최대한 정확하게 제거하는 과정이 중요하다. Contourlet 변환은 기존의 wavelet 변환의 다중 스케일과 더불어 다양한 방향 필터뱅크를 이용하여 방향 성분에 대하여 풍부한 정보를 얻을 수 있는 변환이다. 영상의 화이트 가우시안 잡음을 제거하기 위해 contourlet 변환 영역에서의 계수를 이변수 가우스 확률 모델로 설정하고 Bayes 추정법을 사용한다. Bayes 추정법에 필요한 파라미터들은 근사적으로 추정한다. 제안한 방식을 통하여 잡음이 제거된 영상에 추가적으로 Wiener filter와 cycle-spinning을 적용하여 더 높은 PSNR (peak signal-to-noise ratio)값을 얻을 수 있다. 모의실험을 통해 제안한 방식의 PSNR 값과 결과영상으로 성능이 우수함을 확인하였다.
