      • A Vibration Signal Analysis Method based on Enforced De-Noising and Modified EMD

        To deal with the noise from rotating machinery vibration signal and analysis the fault signal, a rotating machinery fault diagnosis method based on enforced de-noising and modified EMD is proposed. Firstly, fault signals were de-noised by the wavelet with enforced threshold in order to filter the noises in the high frequency, and then the EMD method used to decompose the fault signals into a finite number of stationary intrinsic mode function (IMFs), then the linear correlation coefficient between two sets of data is proposed to select the useful IMF. In order to restrain the endpoint effect of EMD, in this paper, the cosine window function is employ to the fault signals, and then the envelope error of the fault signals is controlled at the both endpoints of the vibration signals. Experimental results shows: this proposed method can extract the fault information effectively, with overcoming the drawbacks of EMD well.

        Thermally Healable Polyurethanes Based on Furfural-Derived Monomers via Baylis-Hillman Reaction

        Two novel acrylate monomers with diol group, 2-hydroxyethyl 2-(furan- 2-yl(hydroxy)methyl)acrylate and methyl 2-(hydroxy(5-(hydroxymethyl)furan-2- yl)methyl)acrylate, were synthesized via Baylis-Hillman reaction in moderate yields. The monomer 2-hydroxyethyl 2-(furan-2-yl(hydroxy)methyl)acrylate was obtained from furfural and 2-hydroxyethyl acrylate (HEA); methyl 2-(hydroxy(5-(hydroxymethyl)furan- 2-yl)methyl)acrylate was prepared from 5-hydroxymethl furfural (HMF) and methyl acrylate. The monomer 2-hydroxyethyl 2-(furan-2-yl(hydroxy)methyl)acrylate reacted with toluene diisocyanate (TDI)-derived or hexamethylene diisocyanate (HDI)-derived diisocyanate oligomers to obtain the corresponding linear polyurethane oligmers PU-1T and PU-1H. Similarly, the diol methyl 2-(hydroxy(5-(hydroxymethyl)furan- 2-yl)methyl)acrylate reacted with TDI- or HDI-derived diisocyanate oligomers to obtain the corresponding linear polyurethane oligmers PU-2T and PU-2H. The numberaverage molecular weights of the linear polyurethane oligomers are approximately 300-350 Da. There are furan groups in the linear polyurethane oligomers PU-1T, PU-1H, PU-2T and PU-2H, which makes them capable of undergoing reversible Diels-Alder reaction with 4,4'- bismaleimidodiphenylmethane (BMI) to form the corresponding crosslinked polyurethanes CPU-1T, CPU-1H, CPU-2T and CPU-2H. Pencil hardness of CPU-1T, CPU-1H, CPU-2T and CPU-2H are 3H, 2H, 2H and HB, respectively. Glass transition temperatures of CPU-1T, CPU- 1H, CPU-2T and CPU-2H are 104.8, 97.6, 5.1 and 1.2 oC, respectively. TGA analysis shows that Td90 values of the CPUs range from 180 to 250 oC. Furthermore, the reversible crosslinked polyurethanes CPU-1T and CPU-1H can be completely self-healed at 90 oC for 3 h, while CPU-2T and CPU-2H can self-heal at 80 oC for 3 h presumably due to their low glass transition temperatures.

        Facile Synthesis of Block Copolymers from a Cinnamate Derivative by Combination of AGET ATRP and Click Chemistry

        An azido- and bromo-containing compound derived from naturally occurring ethyl cinnamate was usedsuccessfully to prepare block copolymers by a combination of ‘activator generated by electron transfer atom transferradical polymerization’ (AGET ATRP) and Huisgen “click” reactions in emulsion. First, azido-end poly(methyl methacrylate)and alkyne-end polystyrene were prepared under AGET ATRP conditions, then, poly(methyl methacrylate) blockpolystyrene (PMMA-b-PS) diblock copolymer was formed by Huisgen 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition. Finally, polystyreneblock poly(methyl methacrylate) block polystyrene (PS-b-PMMA-b-PS) triblock copolymer was synthesizedvia simultaneous AGET ATRP and click reactions, catalyzed by the same copper-based catalyst. The polymers werecharacterized by 1H nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy and gel permeation chromatography (GPC),which confirmed the successful synthesis of the corresponding polymers.

      • Research on Drug Retail Surveillance and Management System Concerned with Adverse Drug Reaction

        Drug security is very important to people. The adverse drug reaction events happened several times these years. The drug retail record should be monitored to prevent drug security event occur. There should be a system to monitor the drug stores to find out which one is selling the outdated drugs, or selling the drugs that have no license agreement. When drug security event occurred, the retail information can be used to find out the customer who bought the drug, where and how much the drug left in the drug stores. The solution and measures such as drug recycle or going to hospital should be carried out according to the retail information from the terminal market. This paper brings out a drug retail tracking and tracing solution system. With this system, drug retail information can be real-time obtained. The information supports the decision to solve the adverse drug reaction events.

        Microstructure Evolution and Mechanical Performances of SiCf Reinforced (Al3Ti + Al3Ni)-Based Metallic–Intermetallic Laminate Composite

        In present work, a novel SiCfreinforced (Al3Ti + Al3Ni)-based metallic–intermetallic laminate (Ti–(Al3Ti + Al3Ni)/SiCf-MIL) composite without centerline defect was prepared using Ti, Al foils, NiTi wires and SiC fibers by vacuum hot pressingsintering method. Electron backscatter diffraction was employed to characterize the microstructure and phase constituents ofTi–(Al3Ti + Al3Ni)/SiCf-MIL composite during various stages of preparation process. The elimination mechanism of intermetalliccenterline was discussed. Besides, quasi-static compressive performance and fracture toughness of the synthesizedcomposite were investigated. The experimental results indicated that as reaction time increasing, the NiTi/Al interfacialreaction occurred prior to the Ti/Al interfacial reaction to form an Al3Ti/Al3Ni zone. Then, the oxides gathered at the frontof Ti/Al interfacial reaction layer were dispersed in the intermetallic layer rather than being pushed together to generate thecenterline due to the Al3Ti/Al3Ni zone. After reaction, there were no residual NiTi phases and intermetallic layers mainlyconsisting of Al3Tiand Al3Niphases were obtained in this composite. In addition, high angle grain boundaries in Al3Tigrains occupied a large proportion, conversely, low angle grain boundaries dominated in Al3Nigrains. Furthermore, stressconcentration appears at the interface between layers instead of along the middle plane of intermetallic layer. Moreover,both compressive strength and fracture toughness of the composite are superior in comparison with SiCfreinforced Ti–Al3Timetallic–intermetallic laminate composite (Ti–Al3Ti/SiCf-MIL) ascribed to the elimination of centerline.

        Vehicle-bridge coupling vibration analysis based fatigue reliability prediction of prestressed concrete highway bridges

        The extensive use of prestressed reinforced concrete (PSC) highway bridges in marine environment drastically increases the sensitivity to both fatigue- and corrosion-induced damage of their critical structural components during their service lives. Within this scenario, an integrated method that is capable of evaluating the fatigue reliability, identifying a condition-based maintenance, and predicting the remaining service life of its critical components is therefore needed. To accomplish this goal, a procedure for fatigue reliability prediction of PSC highway bridges is proposed in the present study. Vehicle-bridge coupling vibration analysis is performed for obtaining the equivalent moment ranges of critical section of bridges under typical fatigue truck models. Three-dimensional nonlinear mathematical models of fatigue trucks are simplified as an eleven-degree-of-freedom system. Road surface roughness is simulated as zero-mean stationary Gaussian random processes using the trigonometric series method. The time-dependent stress-concentration factors of reinforcing bars and prestressing tendons are accounted for more accurate stress ranges determination. The limit state functions are constructed according to the Miner’s linear damage rule, the time-dependent S-N curves of prestressing tendons and the site-specific stress cycle prediction. The effectiveness of the methodology framework is demonstrated to a T-type simple supported multi-girder bridge for fatigue reliability evaluation.

        Characterization and mechanism analysis of penicillin G biodegradation with Klebsiella pneumoniae Z1 isolated from waste penicillin bacterial residue

        In this study, a strain Z-1 has been isolated from penicillin bacterial residue. The physicochemicalproperties and molecular phylogenetic analysis of the strain were characterized by atomic forcemicroscope (AFM) and scanning electron microscope (SEM) and 16SrDNA, indicating the strain belongsto genus Klebsiella pneumoniae. Furthermore, the biodegradation process of PENG was investigated with99.99% degradation efficiency. Afterwards, high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) and LC-MS/MS analysis were performed to identify its degradation products. Moreover, the possible mechanism wasproposed and confirmed in detail. These results suggest Klebsiella pneumoniae Z1 become a promisingalternative for improving penicillin removal from environment

        Artificial Intelligence in the Prediction of Gastrointestinal Stromal Tumors on Endoscopic Ultrasonography Images: Development, Validation and Comparison with Endosonographers

        Background/Aims: The accuracy of endosonographers in diagnosing gastric subepithelial lesions (SELs) using endoscopic ultrasonography (EUS) is influenced by experience and subjectivity. Artificial intelligence (AI) has achieved remarkable development in this field. This study aimed to develop an AI-based EUS diagnostic model for the diagnosis of SELs, and evaluated its efficacy with external validation. Methods: We developed the EUS-AI model with ResNeSt50 using EUS images from two hospitals to predict the histopathology of the gastric SELs originating from muscularis propria. The diagnostic performance of the model was also validated using EUS images obtained from four other hospitals. Results: A total of 2,057 images from 367 patients (375 SELs) were chosen to build the models, and 914 images from 106 patients (108 SELs) were chosen for external validation. The sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value, negative predictive value, and accuracy of the model for differentiating gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GISTs) and non-GISTs in the external validation sets by images were 82.01%, 68.22%, 86.77%, 59.86%, and 78.12%, respectively. The sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value, negative predictive value, and accuracy in the external validation set by tumors were 83.75%, 71.43%, 89.33%, 60.61%, and 80.56%, respectively. The EUS-AI model showed better performance (especially specificity) than some endosonographers. The model helped improve the sensitivity, specificity, and accuracy of certain endosonographers. Conclusions: We developed an EUS-AI model to classify gastric SELs originating from muscularis propria into GISTs and non-GISTs with good accuracy. The model may help improve the diagnostic performance of endosonographers. Further work is required to develop a multi-modal EUS-AI system.

        Lineage conversion of mouse fibroblasts to pancreatic α-cells

        α-cells, which synthesize glucagon, also support β-cell survival and have the capacity to transdifferentiate into β-cells. However, the role of α-cells in pathological conditions and their putative clinical applications remain elusive due in large part to the lack of mature α-cells. Here, we present a new technique to generate functional α-like cells. α-like cells (iAlpha cells) were generated from mouse fibroblasts by transduction of transcription factors, including Hhex, Foxa3, Gata4, Pdx1 and Pax4, which induce α-cell-specific gene expression and glucagon secretion in response to KCl and Arg stimulation. The cell functions in vivo and in vitro were evaluated. Lineage-specific and functional-related gene expression was tested by realtime PCR, insulin tolerance test (ITT), glucose tolerance test (GTT), Ki67 and glucagon immunohistochemistry analysis were done in iAlpha cells transplanted nude mice. iAlpha cells possess α-cell function in vitro and alter blood glucose levels in vivo. Transplantation of iAlpha cells into nude mice resulted in insulin resistance and increased β-cell proliferation. Taken together, we present a novel strategy to generate functional α-like cells for the purposes of disease modeling and regenerative medicine.
