This paper presents a primary study for a new method of enhancing measurement using impedance analysis method, which is widely used for structure health monitoring. Many of skyscrapers, bridges, tunnels, which have been built up several years, and nearly reached their operating life due to aging crack, material deterioration, and so on. therefore, the health monitoring technique has obtained considerable attention. The goal of this research is to show basic information to evaluate structural health condition using piezoelectric sensors. The piezoelectric materials have various merits. It is easy to shape various forms and can be embedded on the materials more conveniently. Moreover, the excitation frequency can be changed and the piezoelectric sensors cost less. All these features make the piezoelectric-based system applicable to structural healthy monitoring. This work presents a study for the development of a practical and quantitative technique for assessment of the structural health condition by piezoelectric impedance-based technique associated with longitudinal wave propagation. To estimate the damage condition numerically, we suggest the evaluation method Cov (Covariance) and CC (Correlation Coefficient) in this paper.

The effect of a mangosteen product containing multivitamins and essential minerals was tested on immune function and well-being in healthy adults. A randomized, double blinded, placebo-controlled study was conducted in 59 healthy human subjects (40–60 years old). Changes from baseline immune function were measured after a 30-day consumption of the mangosteen product and the placebo. The subjects' self-appraisal of their health status was also surveyed. A xanthone-rich mangosteen product intake increased mean values for peripheral T-helper cell frequency (P=.020) and reduced the serum C-reactive protein concentration (P=.014). Increases in peripheral CD4/CD8 double-positive (DP) T-cell frequency and serum complement C3, C4, and interleukin (IL)-1α concentrations were significantly higher in the experimental group than in the placebo group (DP, P=.038; C3, P=.017; C4, P=.031; IL-1α, P=.006). At the end of study, serum IL-1α and IL-1β concentrations in the study group were significantly higher than that in the placebo group (IL-1α, P=.033; IL-1β, P=.04). Furthermore, more participants in the experimental group reported greatly improved overall health status compared with participants receiving placebo (P=.001). The results indicated that the intake of an antioxidant-rich product significantly enhanced immune responses and improved the subject's self-appraisal on his or her overall health status.
Improvement of Tracking Performance Using Prediction-Based Algorithms for a Maneuvering Target
Hong Ping Gao,유창호,최재원,서태일 제어·로봇·시스템학회 2011 International Journal of Control, Automation, and Vol.9 No.3
This paper presents a study involving prediction of a complicated maneuvering target, with the aim of improving the tracking performance of a fire control system (FCS). In this study, we predict the position of a complicated maneuvering target 5 s in advance using the information up to the current time. Because of the large error caused by the complicated maneuvers and the long prediction time in-terval, the mechanical system of the fire control system will take a heavy load. In order to cope with this problem, several approaches to decreasing the prediction error have been proposed including the prediction algorithms based on the multiple model(MM) filter, interacting multiple model (IMM) filter, and variable dimension with input estimation (VDIE) filter. Finally, comparative simulation results are presented to verify the performance of the filters.
Algorithms for finding the minimal polynomials and inverses of resultant matrices
Shu-Ping Gao,San-Yang Liu 한국전산응용수학회 2004 Journal of applied mathematics & informatics Vol.16 No.-
In this paper, algorithms for computing the minimal polynomial and the common minimal polynomial of resultant matrices over any field are presented by means of the approach for the Gr¨obner basis of the ideal in the polynomial ring, respectively, and two algorithms for finding the inverses of such matrices are also presented. Finally, an algorithm for the inverse of partitioned matrix with resultant blocks over any field is given, which can be realized by CoCoA 4.0, an algebraic system over the field of rational numbers or the field of residue classes of modulo prime number. We get examples showing the effectiveness of the algorithms.
Study on Fault Detection and Diagnosis of the Edge-Transmission Ball Mill System
Wang, Gao Ping,Hong, Yong,Hong, Dong Pyo,Yang, Sung Mo,Kim, Young Moon Trans Tech Publications, Ltd. 2007 Key Engineering Materials Vol.353-358 No.3
<P>Pieces of large-scale equipment such as a ball mill system are subjected to heavy and alternate loads under the worst working conditions, which result in higher fault rates. However, since such equipment exerts important functions to the economy and industry, it isn’t recommendable to halt production in order to detect the defects under unconfirmed faults. We explore a reliable and practical fault diagnosis scheme for the ball mill system that is widely used in the building material industry. With utilizing the signal acquisition and process system of vibration, the field testing and analysis are performed based on the violent vibration of an edge-transmission Φ3×11m ball mill system. The primary diagnosis that is based on the configuration of the transmission system and foundation stiffness is found, and a feasible resolution scheme is obtained, so that the optimal and economic reform scheme is determined. The detailed scheme has been adopted by the production industry. This study that is based on the fault diagnosis of the edgetransmission ball mill system has a comprehensive significance of theory and reality. This provides a larger basis for vibration inspection and fault diagnosis in building material industries.</P>
Quantitative Estimation of the Fastening Condition of a Bolt with Using Piezoceramic (PZT) Sensors
Wang, Gao Ping,Hong, Yong,Lee, Jae Jung,Hong, Dong Pyo,Kim, Young Moon,Kim, Jae Yeol Trans Tech Publications, Ltd. 2007 Key Engineering Materials Vol.353-358 No.3
<P>We present a study on the development of a practical and quantitative technique for the assessment of the structural health condition with using piezoceramic (PZT) sensors. The electroimpedance- based technique with the PZT patches is very sensitive for evaluation of the incipient and small damage in a high frequency range, and however the commonly traditional modal analysis method is effective only for considerably larger damages in low frequency range. The paper presents the performance of the performance of the electro-impedance-based technique in detecting and characterizing real-time damage on the specimen that is an aluminum plate fastened with bolts and nuts by different torques. By using the special arrangement of the PZT sensors, the required longitudinal wave is generated through the specimen. A large number of experiments are conducted and the different conditions of the specimen, i.e. the location of loosening bolts and the loosening extent of bolts are simulated, respectively. Since fixing and loosening the loosened bolt is controlled by a torque wrench, we can control exactly the experiment of the different torques. Compared with the simulated healthy condition, we can find whether or not there is a damage in the specimen with using an impedance analyzer with the PZT sensors. Several indices are discussed and used for assessing the different simulated damages. As for the location of bolt loosening, the RMSD is found to be the most appropriate index for numerical assessment and as well the RMSD shows strongly linear relationship for assessing the extent of the bolt loosening. The possibility of repeatability of the pristine condition signatures is also presented and the appropriate frequency range and interval are uniquely selected through large numbers of experiments. The analytical results strongly show the sensibility and reliability of the electro-impedance based technique.</P>

Peng Ji Gao,Jie Gao,Zhao Li,Zhi Ping Hu,Ji Ye Zhu 대한외과학회 2015 Annals of Surgical Treatment and Research(ASRT) Vol.88 No.4
Purpose: The aim of this study is to evaluate the incidence of de novo malignancy after liver transplantation (LT) and compare with those among the general Chinese population. Methods: A total of 466 patients who had a minimum follow-up time of 6 months were enrolled in the study. All data of medical records and follow up were retrospectively reviewed. Results: The incidence rate of de novo malignancy was 3.0% (14 in 466 patients). The median elapsed time from transplant to the diagnosis of de novo malignancy was 42 months (range, 6 to 106 months). The cumulative risk for development of de novo malignancy was 1.6%, 2.7%, and 8.2% at 3, 5 and 10 years after LT, respectively. The patients were all male. The types of de novo tumors included digestive system tumor (8 in 14), lung cancer (2 in 14), urologic neoplasm (2 in 14), and hematologic malignant tumor (2 in 14). Over a mean follow-up of 24 months after diagnosis of de novo malignancy, 7 patients (50.0%) died; the overall 5-year patient survival rate was 54.5%. The relative risk of malignancy following LT was 9.5 folds higher than the general Chinese population. Conclusion: The relative risk of malignancy following LT was much higher than the general Chinese population. Digestive system tumor is the most common type of de novo malignancy after LT in China.
