        Development and Validation of the Chinese Wellness Lifestyle Assessment (CWLA)

        Wellness is a concept of multiple health and a new concept of health that started in the United States. But in the concept of Wellness, there is a holistic approach similar to the philosophy of traditional Chinese medicine. The purpose of this study was to develop and validate the Chinese Wellness Lifestyle Assessment (CWLA). According to the principle of convenience sampling, the study surveyed a total of 1943 adults over 20 years old were chosen as subjects. The study began with the measurement researches related to Korean wellness developed by Kim (2000). Tests and analyzes the research hypotheses by using SPSS 23.0 and AMOS 22.0. It mainly includes descriptive statistics analysis, reliability analysis, validity analysis, exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis. The reliability and validity of the related questionnaire items have been confirmed as well. The CWLA was made up finally completed 73 items, which has played a catalyst role of promoting the culture of wellness for Chinese.

        Mode Analysis of Cascaded Four-Conductor Lines Using Extended Mixed-Mode S-Parameters

        In this paper, based on the mode analysis of four-conductor lines, the extended mixed-mode chain-parameters and S-parameters of fourconductor lines are estimated using current division factors. The extended mixed-mode chain-parameters of cascaded four-conductor lines are then obtained with mode conversion. And, the extended mixed-mode S -parameters of cascaded four-conductor lines can be predicted from the transformation of the extended chain-parameters. Compared to the extended mixed-mode S-parameters of fourconductor lines, the cross-mode S-parameters are induced in the extended mixed-mode S -parameters of cascaded four-conductor lines, due to the imbalanced current division factors of cascaded two sections. The generated cross-mode S-parameters make the equivalent different- and common-mode conductors not independent from each other again. In addition, a new mode conversion, which applies the imbalanced current division factors, between the extended mixed-mode S-parameters and standard S-parameters is also proposed in this paper. Finally, the validity of the proposed extended mixed-mode S-parameters and mode conversion is confirmed by a comparison of the simulated and estimated results of shielded cable.

        Boron isotopic separation with pyrocatechol-modified resin by chromatography technology: Experiment and numerical simulation

        Boron isotopic separation was investigated experimentally and theoretically on boron-specific adsorbent, namely pyrocatechol-modified resin (CL-RESIN). The static adsorption results with initial boron concentration of 8.648 g L−1 at 25 °C were well fitted by the pseudo-second-order kinetic model and Henry isotherm model, from which relevant parameters were used for subsequent isotopic separation simulation by Aspen Chromatograph. The maximum static boron isotopic separation factor with CL-RESIN was 1.13 at 25 °C, thus adsorption-based boron isotopic separation in a chromatographic column packing with CL-RESIN was further studied by experiments and simulations. 11B had greater affinity with CL-RESIN in concentrated boric acid solution with dynamic boron isotopic separation factor of 1.15 and enriched 10B was collected in effluent. Simulation of boron isotopic separation was completed, and simulated results were in good agreement with experimental breakthrough curves under the same conditions. Furthermore, the dynamic behaviors of boron isotopic separation were predicted by simulation under different operating conditions. Response surface methodology (RSM) was employed to determine optimized operating conditions in a chromatographic column. Consequently, the optimized operating conditions were achieved with flow rate of 1.24 mL min−1, 44 cm column length, 0.46 cm column diameter and feed concentration of 8.648 g L−1.

        Experimental Study on Sedimentation and Consolidation of Soil Particles in Dredged Slurry

        Sedimentation and consolidation of dredged slurry is very complex in practice. A new Multilayer Extraction Sampling (MES) method was developed in this study to better understand the underlying law of sedimentation and consolidation of soil particles in slurries. Comparing with previous methods, the advantages of this method include: (1) the equipment is easy to operate and the test procedures are simple; (2) the volume distribution and the settling velocity of soil particles can be measured and calculated by Volume Flux Function (VFF) approach at different time and heights during sedimentation and consolidation process; (3) soil formation from sedimentation of dredged slurry can be also further studied based on pore water pressure measurements in conjunction with the velocity and density distributions. The experimental results revealed that there were four different zones during sedimentation and consolidation process: water zone, hindered settling zone, consolidation zone and a new zone termed as “transition zone” where soil particles are in contact with each other but effective stress are not fully developed. It is concluded that the sedimentation and consolidation of soil particles in dredged slurry was studied successfully in a holistic manner using this new experimental method.

        Dynamic analysis of coupled wind-train-bridge system considering tower shielding and triangular wind barriers

        A method for analyzing the coupled wind-vehicle-bridge system is proposed that also considers the shielding effect of the bridge tower with triangular wind barriers. The static wind load and the buffeting wind load for both the bridge and the vehicle are included. The shielding effects of the bridge tower and the triangular wind barriers are incorporated by taking the surface integral of the wind load. The inter-history iteration is adopted to solve the vehicle-bridge dynamic equations with time-varying external loads. The results show that after installing the triangular wind barriers in the area of the bridge tower, the bridge response and the vehicle safety factors change slightly. The peak value of the train car body acceleration is significantly reduced when the wind barrier size is increased.

        MiR-449a attenuates autophagy of T-cell lymphoma cells by downregulating ATG4B expression

        Increasing evidence suggests the role of miR-449a in the regulation of tumorigenesis and autophagy. Autophagy plays an important role in the malignancy of T-cell lymphoma. However, it is still unknown whether miR-449a is associated with autophagy to regulate the malignancy of T-cell lymp homa. In this study, we for the first time demonstrated that miR-449a enhanced apoptosis of T-cell lymphoma cells by decreasing the degree of autophagy. Further, miR-449a downregulated autophagy- associated 4B (ATG4B) expression, which subsequently reduced the autophagy of T-cell lymphoma cells. Mechanistically, miR-449a decreased ATG4B protein level by binding to its mRNA 3’UTR, thus reducing the mRNA stability. In addition, studies with nude mice showed that miR-449a significantly inhibited lymphoma characteristics in vivo. In conclusion, our results demonstrated that the “miR-449a/ATG4B/autophagy” pathway played a vital role in the malignancy of T-cell lymphoma, suggesting a novel therapeutic target.

        Combined Cutinase and Keratinolytic Enzyme to Endow Improved Shrink-resistance to Wool Fabric

        The overlapping cuticle scales on the wool surface cause severe felting shrinkage during laundering. However, theconventional wool anti-felting processing mostly adopts dichloroisocyanurate (DCCA), which produces absorbable organichalogen (AOX) with high toxicity in the effluents and cause severe environmental problems. Herein, an environmentalfriendlyenzymatic method was proposed and investigated to endow satisfactory shrink-proofing property for wool fabricswithout severe damages. The cutinase from Thermobifida fusca and the keratinolytic enzyme from Bacillus subtilis wereconsecutively used to treat wool fabrics for 4 h and 24 h, respectively. The area shrinkage of the resultant wool fabricsdecreased from 12.4 % to 5.86 % for to the cuticle was partly broken, which met the machine-washable requirement with anacceptable strength loss of 7.46 %. Moreover, the dyeability and wettability of the resultant fabric were improved after thecombined enzymatic treatments, due to the destruction of the lipid layer and breakdown of keratin by combined cutinase andkeratinolytic enzyme according to the analyses such as scanning electron microscope (SEM) and X-ray photoelectronspectroscopy (XPS) and contact angle. Overall, our result revealed that the synergistic actions of cutinase and keratinolyticenzyme treatments could effectively disintegrate cuticles and remove scales.

        Dynamic analysis of a train-bridge system under multi-support seismic excitations

        A numerical solution for the dynamic responses of a train-bridge interaction system subjected to multi-support seismic loads was studied. The train vehicle was modeled by the rigid-body dynamics method, and the bridge was modeled by the finite element method. The vertical and lateral wheel-rail interaction forces were defined according to the wheel-rail corresponding assumption and the simplified Kalker creep theory. Three-dimensional seismic accelerations were incorporated using the large mass method. In a case study, the dynamic responses were simulated for a high-speed train traversing a steel truss cable-stayed bridge with different seismic intensities and different train speeds, and train safety was evaluated.

        The four models for forecasting the peak period of Dendrolimus punctatus (Lepidoptera: Lasiocampiade) for the second generation egg

        To improve the accuracy of forecasting the peak period of Dendrolimus punctatus, stationary time series, periodic distance method, stepwise regression model and the Bayes discriminant analysis were used. RSME value, kappa coefficient and accuracy were used as evaluation criteria to predict the peak period for the second generation egg of D. punctatus with over 33 years from 1983 to 2016 in Qianshan County, Anhui Province. The predictions of these models were verified in 2017 and 2018. The prediction of the stationary time model and Bayes discriminant analysis for 2017 was one level lower than the actual result and for 2018 was one level higher than the actual result, while the prediction of the periodic distance method was identical to the actual result for 2017 and greatly different from the actual result for 2018. The accuracy for stationary time series (RMSE = 0.92 kappa = 0.76) and periodic distance method (RMSE = 2.96, kappa = 0.81) from 1983 to 2018 were 87.88% and 85.71%, respectively. When taking into consideration the standard error was based on differential, the accuracy for the prediction of stepwise regression model (RMSE = 0.25, kappa = 1.00) from 1983 to 2018 was 100%. The accuracy of Bayes discriminant method (RMSE = 0.71, kappa = 0.96) was 97.14%. Comparatively speaking, the stepwise regression model and Bayes discriminant analysis method were better than the stationary time series and periodic distance method in RMSE value, kappa coefficient and accuracy. So they were relatively ideal forecast methods.

      • Research on Key Problems of Channel Estimation Based on Plural RBF Neural Network

        A new channel estimation method of neural network based on complex radial basis function (CRBF) is proposed to enhance the anti-interference ability of traditional pilot frequency estimation algorithm in power line communication (PLC). This method builds up a new channel model of complex field signals in PLC. The complete response model was established by using transmitting terminal’s pilot signal as input sample data, pilot signal’s frequency response as output sample data, and pre-setting mean square error (MSE) and diffusion constant. Computer simulations show that compared with the traditional algorithm the channel estimation was more accurate and had lower MSE and bit error rate (BER).
