The Establishment of the International Financial Center (IFC) in Jeju Free International City
Heonkyu JEONG,Hyo KIM,Yong-Bok CHOI,Mun-Sub CHUNG 제주대학교 관광과경영경제연구소 2020 産經論集 Vol.40 No.3
Purpose: Jeju Free International City is growing around the tourism industry. However, for Jeju Free International City to grow in line with the concept of free international city, it is necessary to move away from the current industrial structure that is focused on the tourism industry. It is necessary to reorganize the industrial structure centered on the financial industry in the long term, and for this, it is necessary to develop interest and fostering the financial industry within Jeju Special Self-Governing Province. This study intends to reconsider the necessity through the academic approach to fostering the financial industry in Jeju Free International City, which has been planned from the policy perspective. To this end, this study empirically analyzed the factors necessary to build the foundation for fostering the financial industry in Jeju Free International City. The purpose of this study is to examine the necessity for the establishment of an international financial center in Jeju and to derive the necessity for each factor through analysis of sub-factors necessary for the establishment of an international financial center in Jeju. Research design, data and methodology: This study carried out IPMA for analysis of components for fostering the financial industry. Through IPMA, this study identified priorities for the need for configuration factors and sub-factors. In addition, the thesis further performed a cross-group comparison. Result: The analysis confirmed that the factors in the living environment are the highest priority. It also confirmed that the priority of institutional policy factors and infra-facility factors is high. This study found that financial and non-financial employees differed in the priorities of factors in the comparison analysis between groups. This study also confirmed that Jeju residents and non-Jeju residents have distinct differences in the priorities of factors. Conclusion: Through this study, factors necessary for Jeju Free International City were identified. In addition, it was confirmed that there was a clear difference between the factors necessary for Jeju residents and non-Jeju residents. In the future, it is necessary to seriously consider these differences in the decision on whether to introduce, how to introduce, and priorities in the introduction of international financial center.

The paper is proposed maximum torque control of induction motor drive using adaptive learning neuro fuzzy controller and artificial neural network(ANN). The control method is applicable over the entire speed range and considered the limits of the inverter’s current and voltage rated value. For each control mode, a condition that determines the optimal d, q axis current ds qs ids, iqs for maximum torque operation is derived. The proposed control algorithm is applied to induction motor drive system controlled adaptive learning neuro fuzzy controller and ANN controller, the operating characteristics controlled by maximum torque control are examined in detail. Also, this paper is proposed the analysis results to verify the effectiveness of the adaptive learning neuro fuzzy controller and ANN controller.

In casting steels for offshore construction, manufacturing integral casted structures to prevent fatigue cracks in the stress raisers is superior to using welded structures. Here, mold design and casting analysis were conducted for integral casting steel. The laminar flow of molten metal was analyzed and distributions of hot spots and porosities were studied. A prototype was subsequently produced, and air vents were designed to improve the surface defects caused by the release of gas. A radiographic test revealed no internal defects inside the casted steel. Evaluating the chemical and mechanical properties of specimens sampled from the product revealed that target values were quantitatively satisfied. To assess weldability in consideration of repair welding, the product was machined with grooves and welded, after which the mechanical properties of hardness as well as tensile, impact, and bending strengths were evaluated. No substantive differences were found in the mechanical properties before and after welding.

This paper proposes novel method for anti-islanding of grid-connected photovoltaic system. The proposed anti-islanding method in this paper can easily judge using virtual resister that amplified generating signal by islanding operating. The proposed algorithm in this paper is applied to grid-connected inverter and validity of this paper proves through performance analysis.

The maximum output torque developed by the machine is dependent on the allowable current rating and maximum voltage that the inverter can supply to the machine. Therefore, to use the inverter capacity fully, it is desirable to use the control scheme considering the voltage and current limit condition, which can yield the maximum torque per ampere over the entire speed range. This controller is controlled speed and current using artificial PI (AIPI) controller and estimation of speed using ANN. Also, this paper is proposed maximum torque control of induction motor using slip angular speed and current condition at widely speed range. The performance of the proposed induction motor drive with maximum torque control using AIPI controller is verified by analysis results at dynamic operation conditions.

This paper proposes variable incremental conductance(IC) algorithm for maximum power point tracking(MPPT) control of photovoltaic. Conventional Perturbation & Observation(PO) and IC MPPT control algorithm generally uses fixed step size. A small fixed step size will cause the tracking speed to decrease and tracking accuracy of the MPP will decrease due to large fixed step size. Therefore, this paper proposes improved IC MPPT algorithm that adjust automatically step size according to operating conditions. To improve tracking speed and accuracy, when operating point is far from maximum power point(MPP), step size uses maximum value and when operating point is near from MPP, step size uses variable step size that adjust according to slope of P - V curve. The validity of MPPT algorithm proposed in this paper prove through compare with conventional IC MPPT algorithm.

The purpose of this paper is to examine the certification effect for investments by foreign investors. The certification effect hypothesis is originated from the market for IPOs and suggests that a third party who is more active and more prestigious in the capital market can certify the quality of initial public offerings and thus reduce their underpricing. Foreign investors have accumulate valuable reputation capital through repeated successful investments and interactions in Korean capital markets. Thus they will restrain themselves from investing low-quality firms and increase the market value of those firms. This paper empirically examines this certification effect through testing the relationship between the foreign investment and the firm value. The results indicate that foreign investors indeed enhance the efficiency and transparency of management and thereby increase the market value of firms.
