Factors influencing the awareness of emergency medical services among immigrants in Korea

In this study, we investigate the recognition toward Korean emergency medical services (EMS) and the differences in perception of the EMS among the foreigners living in Korea, and compared them with the medical services environment of the immigrants’ nations of origin. A questionnaire was created and distributed to foreigners living in Korea. The questionnaire measured immigrants’ perception of safety in emergency situations and preferences for EMS. The results were compared with the public health environments of the home countries of those who took part in the survey. The safety and preference for Korean EMS showed positive tendencies. Among the factors influencing safety, higher per-capita incomes indicated lower perceptions of EMS safety. Lower life expectancy indicated higher preference for EMS. Although the safety and preference for EMS showed positive viewpoints, the real perception of EMS quality among foreigners was quite different for different services. It is necessary to establish public health-based policies for the foreigners living in Korea considering other nation's medical services environments.

Control Rod Position Indicator in nuclear reactor vessel has developed for small reactor in Korea. Because of severe environment in reactor vessel, target of this study is to develop the suitable position indicator. In this study, solenoid type position indicator made of Mineral Insulated Cable(MI Cable) was introduced to adapt in severe environment. And inductance of the solenoid was used to indicate the rod position for high precision. But problem of this concept is that a linear slope of inductance is changed by temperature effect. To resolve this problem, two sensing coils were introduced for temperature compensation. A role of the sensing coil is to make reference linear equation about certain temperature. To confirm this concept, also, inductance of solenoid and sensing coils were measured at room and high temperature (~300℃). The results of measurement show that the position error of sensing coil between room and high temperature was about 2%. But it was identified that this error was resulted from insufficient test environment (temperature error between solenoid and sensing coils was about 2% at high temperature condition). Therefore, solenoid type position indicator shows that it is very suitable in reactor vessel as a high precision rod position indicator.

최근 인터넷 홈페이지가 기업 정보 제공과 상품 판매의 기본 수단으로 사용되어 가고 있다. 홈페이지 개발 도구의 보급과 함께 인터넷 프로그래밍 기술이 없는 일반 인터넷 이용자들도 간단한 홈페이지는 어느 정도 쉽게 개발할 수 있게 되었다. 그런데 대부분의 도구들이 실시간 데이터베이스 처리나 멀티미디어 홈페이지 개발에는 한계를 갖고 있어서 전문지식이 없는 인터넷 이용자가 쉽게 이용하기에는 대화형 사용자 인터페이스 면에서 아직 부족함을 가지고 있다. 본 논문에서는 이와 같은 기존 시스템의 단점을 보완하고 홈페이지 개발에 있어서 데이터베이스 처리를 위한 편리한 인터페이스를 제공하고 홈페이지와 자동 연결해주는 기능과 멀티미디어 홈페이지 제작을 대화형으로 지원하는 웹 컨텐츠 저작도구 개발에 대해 기술한다.

Studies to augment emotion and immersion in multimedia content through olfactory stimulation are being increasingly conducted in the past two decades, and a variety of scent devices have been developed. Most of the scent devices are very large and heavy; consequently, they are installed on a table rather than being attached to the Head-mounted Display (HMD). Even if such devices are mounted on the HMD, it is not possible to control the scent density because of the size limitation, and it is not easy to be immersed in the experience because of the noise caused by the scent device. In order for an actual virtual reality or an augmented reality system to work efficiently with the scent device, three conditions - noiseless, a compact design, and concentration control- must be satisfied. In this study, we design a scent device that satisfies these three conditions. By using a miniature piezoelectric pump, a small size scent device is designed so that it can be easily attached to the lower end of the HMD, and hardly any noise is generated. Moreover, it is possible to control the concentration of the scent by controlling the piezoelectric pump using amplitude and frequency.

본 연구에서는 목조문화재 안전관리 표준화 방안을 위해 전국에 국가지정 중요목조문화재 159개소의 실태조사를 실시하였다. 문화재 안전관리를 인적측면, 안전관리적 측면, 시설적 측면, 주변환경적 측면으로 종합적인 실태조사를 실시하였으며, 현 문화재 안전관리 현황 및 정책을 알아보고 이에 대한 시사점을 제시하였다. 이를 통하여 중요목조문화재의 향후 안전관리 표준화 방안에 대한 기초 결과를 제시했다.
