        The Role of FDI in Economic Development in Vietnam + 5 Nations: Empirical Evidence between 1986–2020

        This research work aims to investigate the role of FDI in Economic Development by assessing its relationship with GDP per capita in Vietnam +5 from 1986–2020. Through descriptive statistical, correlation matrix analysis, and econometric models, including Vector Error Correction Model (VECM) and Feasible Generalized Least Squares (FGLS) estimation methods using Stata 15.1. The VECM estimation method results show that FDI positively impacts Economic Development in the short run while not finding a long-run relationship. In addition, it is found that a clear relationship between Exports and Economic Development in both the short run and the long run. Meanwhile, CO2 emissions and Employment Opportunities have no clear relationship with Economic Development in the short run. However, the relationship is reversed in the long run, as the empirical study in Vietnam. The results of the FGLS estimation method show that FDI, CO2 emissions, and Exports have a significant and positive impact on Economic Development in five selected Southeast Asian countries without Employment Opportunities in the long run. From these findings, the author proposes some policy implications of attaching FDI to sustainable Economic Development in Vietnam next time.

        Influence of the optical output coupler on the long-term stable continuous variable entanglement generation

        Continuous-variable entanglement plays a very important role in quantum information processes. In quantum information protocols based on continuous variable entanglement, long-term data acquisition and information processing are necessary, such as gate sequence for quantum computation and gravitational wave detection. The degree of entanglement is mainly afected by the coating parameters of the output coupler. In this paper, we theoretically analyze the efect of diferent transmittances of the output coupler on the degree of entanglement, which provides a theoretical basis for further realizing highdegree and long-term stable of entanglement

        Case Report : Nutrition Therapy for Mitochondrial Neurogastrointestinal Encephalopathy with Homozygous Mutation of the TYMP Gene

        Mitochondrial neurogastrointestinal encephalopathy (MNGIE) is characterized by significant gastrointestinal dysmotility. Early and long-term nutritional therapy is highly recommended. We report a case of MNGIE in a patient who was undergoing longterm nutrition therapy. The patient was diagnosed with a serious symptom of fatty liver and hyperlipidemia complications, along with homozygous mutation of the thymidine phosphorylase (TYMP) gene (c.217G > A). To our knowledge, this is the first report of such a case. Herein, we describe preventive measures for the aforementioned complications and mitochondrial disease-specific nutritional therapy.

        Synthesis of multicolor fluorescent CDs from natural plant kaempferide and their application in anti-counterfeiting inks

        Carbon dots (CDs) are versatile nanomaterials with tunable luminescent properties. We used a natural plant kaempferol as a carbon source to synthesize multicolor CDs by reacting it with various nitrogen sources. Blue, green, and red CDs (B-CDs, G-CDs, and R-CDs) with emission wavelengths of 445 nm, 510 nm, and 600 nm respectively were successfully synthesized. Their photoluminescence quantum yields of are up to 37.4%, 20.1%, and 30.8%, respectively. Surface analysis revealed abundant nitrogen groups influencing luminescence. B-CDs and G-CDs show excitation-dependent emissions, indicating a potential correlation between their luminescence and particle sizes, while R-CDs exhibit excitation-independent emission, suggesting they belong to molecular state CDs. All three CDs exhibit stable luminescent performance, as well as good salt resistance and photobleaching resistance. The practical application of multicolored CDs in anti-counterfeiting fluorescent inks was further explored. This work offers a straightforward, eco-friendly route to synthesize multicolor CDs.

      • H<sub>2</sub>O<sub>2</sub> Inhibits Proliferation and Mediates Suppression of Migration via DLC1/RhoA Signaling in Cancer Cells

        Background: RhoGTPase-activating proteins (RhoGAPs) regulate RhoGTPases in cells, but whether individual reactive oxygen species (ROS) regulate RhoGAPs is unknown. Our previous published papers have shown that deleted in liver cancer 1 (DLC1) inhibits cancer cell migration by its RhoGAP activity. The present study was designed to explore the role of $H_2O_2$ in regulation of DLC1. Materials and Methods: We treated cells with $H_2O_2$ for 24h and phenotypic changes were analyzed by MTT, RT-PCR, Western blotting, immunofluorescence staining and wound healing assays. Results: $H_2O_2$ downregulated cyclin D1 and cyclin E to inhibit proliferation, and upregulated BAX to induce apoptosis in MCF-7 cells. Compared with non-tumorigenic cells, $H_2O_2$ increased expression of DLC1 and reduced activity of RhoA in cancer cells. Stress fiber production and migration were also suppressed by $H_2O_2$ in MDA-MB-231 cells. Conclusions: Our study suggests that $H_2O_2$ inhibits proliferation through modulation of cell cycle and apoptosis-related genes, and inhibits migration by decreasing stress fibers via DLC1/RhoA signaling.

        Molecular cloning and expression analysis of soluble and membrane-bound trehalase genes in the cotton bollworm, Helicoverpa armigera

        Trehalase plays a significant role in various physiological processes in insects. In this study, we cloned and characterized a soluble trehalase gene (HaTreh-1) and a membrane-bound trehalase gene (HaTreh-2) from Helicoverpa armigera, a serious polyphagous pest of crops. HaTreh-1 contained an open reading frame of 1716 bp that encodes a protein of 572 amino acids. HaTreh-2 has an open reading frame of 1938 bp, encoding a protein of 646 amino acids. Sequence alignment and phylogenetic analysis of the two putative proteins revealed that HaTreh-1 and HaTreh-2 belong to soluble and membrane-bound trehalase groups, respectively. Quantitative real-time PCR (qPCR) analyses of the spatiotemporal expression pattern of HaTreh in H. armigera revealed that HaTreh-1 was expressed mainly in the midgut, with lower expression in the integument and head, Malpighian tubules, trachea, and fat body. The expression levels of HaTreh-2 were detected in all 6 tissues, and HaTreh-2 was mainly expressed in the midgut and head. Expression of HaTreh-1 was higher throughout the larval stages, but lower on days 1 and 2 of the pupal stage. Expression of HaTreh-2 was higher during the 4th- and 5th-instar larval stages. Taken together, these results suggest that HaTreh-1 and HaTreh-2 have different functions in various developmental stages and tissues.

        CDH17 nanobodies facilitate rapid imaging of gastric cancer and efficient delivery of immunotoxin

        Background: It is highly desirable to develop new therapeutic strategies for gastric cancer given the low survival rate despite improvement in the past decades. Cadherin 17 (CDH17) is a membrane protein highly expressed in cancers of digestive system. Nanobody represents a novel antibody format for cancer targeted imaging and drug delivery. Nanobody targeting CHD17 as an imaging probe and a delivery vehicle of toxin remains to be explored for its theragnostic potential in gastric cancer. Methods: Naïve nanobody phage library was screened against CDH17 Domain 1-3 and identified nanobodies were extensively characterized with various assays. Nanobodies labeled with imaging probe were tested in vitro and in vivo for gastric cancer detection. A CDH17 Nanobody fused with toxin PE38 was evaluated for gastric cancer inhibition in vitro and in vivo. Results: Two nanobodies (A1 and E8) against human CDH17 with high affinity and high specificity were successfully obtained. These nanobodies could specifically bind to CDH17 protein and CDH17-positive gastric cancer cells. E8 nanobody as a lead was extensively determined for tumor imaging and drug delivery. It could efficiently co-localize with CDH17-positive gastric cancer cells in zebrafish embryos and rapidly visualize the tumor mass in mice within 3 h when conjugated with imaging dyes. E8 nanobody fused with toxin PE38 showed excellent anti-tumor effect and remarkably improved the mice survival in cell-derived (CDX) and patient-derived xenograft (PDX) models. The immunotoxin also enhanced the anti-tumor effect of clinical drug 5-Fluorouracil. Conclusions: The study presents a novel imaging and drug delivery strategy by targeting CDH17. CDH17 nanobodybased immunotoxin is potentially a promising therapeutic modality for clinical translation against gastric cancer.

        중국경제 고성장하의 저고용 원인에 관한 연구

        경제성장률과 고용증가율 사이에는 일반적으로 높은 양의 상관관계가 존재한다. 그러나 중국경제는 높은 경제성장과 낮은 고용증가의 공존현상을 보여주었다. 이와 같은 현상을 해명하고자 본 연구는 초월대수비용함수와 바용점유율함수를 이용한 추정모형으로 중국의 고용탄력성을 측정하였는데 중국의 고용탄력성은 중부지역의 3차산업을 제외하고 전반적으로 하락하는 추세를 보여주었다. 이와 같은 현상은 기술진보의 자본편향성, 규모효과, 노동의 자본으로 대체의 용이성 강화, 임금상승효과 등 여러 측면의 요인들이 종합적으로 작용한 결과일 것이다. 중국정부로서는 경제성장과 고용증가라는 두 가지 목표를 달성가기 위해 고용탄력성에 영향을 주는 요인들을 제거해야 할 것이다. 따라서 중국정부는 고용성장 우선으로의 정책 전환, 성장방식의 내수회복으로의 전환, 자본사용적인 산업에서 노동사용적인 산업에로의 투자방향의 전환, 산업구조조정을 통한 산업의 세분화와 노동의 세분화 및 전문화 추진, 정부 차원의 자본사용적 기술진보로부터 노동사용적 기술진보로의 전환을 유도하는 일련의 유인책마련, 새로운 첨단기술을 이용한 신생산업의 육성, 구조조정, 노동시장 개선 등과 같은 일련의 정부차원의 정책들을 제정하고 강력히 추진하여야 할 것이다. Facing the protracted situation of excessive supply of the labor force, great importance should be attached to the employment. The paper suggests that the importance of strategic target of “employment first” should be fully recognized first of all, and corresponding measures should be taken in the process of choosing technology routes, adjusting the industrial structure, developing the labor market etc Only in this way, can we solve the serious problem of employment fundamentally.

      • An Improved Algorithm of Rough K-Means Clustering Based on Variable Weighted Distance Measure

        Rough K-means algorithm has shown that it can provides a reasonable set of lower and upper bounds for a given dataset. With the conceptions of the lower and upper approximate sets, rough k-means clustering and its emerging derivatives become valid algorithms in vague information clustering. However, the most available algorithms ignore the difference of the distances between data objects and cluster centers when computing new mean for each cluster. To solve this issue, an improved algorithm of rough k-means clustering based on variable weighted distance measure is presented in this article. Comparative experimental results of real world data from UCI demonstrate the validity of the proposed algorithm.

        Profiling of skeletal muscle tissue for long non-coding RNAs related to muscle metabolism in the QingYu pig at the growth inflection point

        Objective: Investigation of muscle growth at different developmental stages is an appropriate strategy for studying the mechanisms underlying muscle development and differences in phenotypes. In particular, the muscle development mechanisms and the difference between the fastest and slowest growth rates. Methods: In this study, we used a growth curve model to fit the growth inflection point (IP) of QingYu pigs and compared differences in the long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) transcriptome of muscle both at the growth IP and plateau phase (PP). Results: The growth curve of the QingYu pig had a good fit (R<sup>2</sup> = 0.974) relative to a typical S-curve and reached the IP at day 177.96. At the PP, marbling, intramuscular fat, and monounsaturated fatty acids had increased significantly and the percentage of lean muscle and polyunsaturated fatty acids had decreased. A total of 1,199 mRNAs and 62 lncRNAs were differentially expressed at the IP compared with the PP. Additional to gene ontology and Kyoto encyclopedia of genes and genomes pathway analyses, these differentially expressed protein coding genes were principally related to muscle growth and lipid metabolism. Conclusion: Our results suggest that the identified differentially expressed lncRNAs, could play roles in muscle growth, fat deposition and regulation of fatty acid composition at the IP and PP.
