      • An Improved Collaborative Filtering Recommendation Algorithm

        An improved CF algorithm based on the classification of items is introduced to overcome the problems caused by the data sparseness and inaccuracy of the user neighbors. The new algorithm first rates the unrated items by applying the item classification, and then calculates the user similarity within classes for nearest-neighbors, after which it could recommend the items based on the final prediction.

        The role of roxadustat in chronic kidney disease patients complicated with anemia

        The incidence of chronic kidney disease (CKD) is increasing worldwide and the current prevalence rate is 13.4%. There are > 120 million CKD patients in China and this number is expected to increase. One of the main abnormalities in patients with CKD and kidney impairment is decreased synthesis of erythropoietin (EPO), which causes anemia and affects iron metabolism. The probability of developing is higher in anemia patients with CKD than in the general population, and the incidence increases as kidney function decreases. Deficient EPO production by the kidney is the most important cause of renal anemia. Notably, anemia in patients with CKD has multiple causes, such as bleeding caused by platelet dysfunction, iron deficiency due to digestive and absorption disorders of the gastrointestinal tract, and shorter red blood cell life. Anemia is also a leading cause of hospitalization in patients with CKD. A new oral medication to treat renal anemia, the hypoxia-inducible factor prolyl hydroxylase inhibitor called roxadustat (FG-4592), regulates iron metabolism and promotes erythropoiesis. This drug has a therapeutic effect on patients with CKD. Roxadustat showed advantages over EPO in clinical experiments. This review summarizes the mechanisms of action, clinical applications, effectiveness, and safety of roxadustat.

        Molecular Cloning, Expression and Characterization of Bovine UQCC and Its Association with Body Measurement Traits

        Ubiquinol-cytochrome c reductase complex chaperone (UQCC) involved in the development and maintenance of bone and cartilage is an important candidate gene for body measurement traits selection through marker-assisted selection (MAS). The expression of UQCC is upregulated in many human and animal models of height as well as other stature indexes. We have cloned the cDNA sequence coding UQCC gene in bovine. Genomic structural analysis indicated that bovine UQCC shares a high similarity with human UQCC. Furthermore, Real-Time PCR analysis showed that the expression of bovine UQCC is remarkably different in diverse tissues, including high level expression in the spleen, heart and windpipe, and relatively low expression in other tissues. We also analyzed allele frequencies in different cattle breeds and an association study on the selected SNPs. SNP DraI A2691T in intron 1 and SNP Bsh1236I A3150G in intron 8 are significantly associated with Body Length (BL), Rump Length (RL), Chest Depth (CD) and Pin Bone Width (PBW). For the A2691T SNP marker, there are significant effects on the RL (p = 0.0001), CD (p = 0.0059) and PBW (p < 0.0001) in 679 individuals; with A3150G SNP marker, there are significant effects on the BL (p = 0.0047) and CD (p = 0.0454). Regarding association analysis of combination of the two SNPs, there are significant effects on the BL (p = 0.0215), CD (p = 0.0282) and PBW (p = 0.0329) in the total population. The results suggest that the UQCC gene is a candidate gene of body measurement traits in bovine reproduction and breeding, and provide data for establishing an animal model using cattle to study big animal body type.

      • The Analysis on the Influence of Risk Perception on Behavioral Intention of Cycling into Tibet

        PURPOSE The purpose of this study is to establish a structural equation model of the influence of risk perception on satisfaction and behavioral intention of cycling into Tibet, and to verify the relationship between natural risk, social risk, cultural risk, organizational risk, satisfaction and behavioral intention. METHOD Taking cycling into Tibet as the background, people cycling into Tibet in the past three years were taken as the main research samples. A total of 380 questionnaires were collected online for research and analysis through the WJX questionnaire network platform. Descriptive statistics, exploratory factor analysis, confirmatory factor analysis and structural equation model were used to analyze the collected data. RESULT The results showed that (1) cyclists cycling into Tibet were engaged in serious leisure and their natural risk perception positively affected their behavioral intentions. (2) satisfaction was an important predictor of their behavioral intentions cycling into Tibet. (3) social, cultural and organizational risk negatively affected satisfaction. CONCLUSION Satisfaction is an important factor in the behavior intention of cycling into Tibet. The results of this study provided some practical suggestions for the organization and management of cycling into Tibet, as well as suggestions for future studies, such as theoretical supports for tourists' behavioral intentions like revisiting Tibet.

        Numerical analysis of the dynamic behavior of a rotor-bearing-brush seal system with bristle interference

        To minimize leakage and maintain the efficiency of turbomachinery, brush seal can be installed with zero clearance or interference as the flexibility. This leads to contact between the rotor and bristle pack, and may cause self-excited vibration, even instability. In this study, to establishment a mathematical model of the rotor system, a seal force model with bristle interference is proposed and the nonlinear oilfilm force is applied in view of short bearing assumption. The influences of main factors containing rotor rotational speed, installing interval, disc mass, and disk eccentricity on the nonlinear characteristics of the rotor-bearing-brush seal system are conducted by adopting bifurcation diagram, spectrum cascade, axis orbit, and Poincaré map. The results indicate that the vibration amplitude of the system with bristle interference is a bit larger than that without interference. The system stability is enhanced with smaller disk mass at a higher rotational speed. The proposed model could provide valuable reference for the design of a rotor-bearing-seal system.

        An Improved Defect Detection Algorithm of Jean Fabric Based on Optimized Gabor Filter

        Aiming at the defect detection quality of denim fabric, this paper designs an improved algorithm based on theoptimized Gabor filter. Firstly, we propose an improved defect detection algorithm of jean fabric based on themaximum two-dimensional image entropy and the loss evaluation function. Secondly, 24 Gabor filter bankswith 4 scales and 6 directions are created and the optimal filter is selected from the filter banks by the onedimensionalimage entropy algorithm and the two-dimensional image entropy algorithm respectively. Thirdly,these two optimized Gabor filters are compared to realize the common defect detection of denim fabric, suchas normal texture, miss of weft, hole and oil stain. The results show that the improved algorithm has betterdetection effect on common defects of denim fabrics and the average detection rate is more than 91.25%.

        Evaluation of the Genetic Relationship among Ten Chinese Indigenous Pig Breeds with Twenty-six Microsatellite Markers

        The genetic diversities and relationships of 10 Chinese indigenous pig breeds and three exotic pig breeds have been evaluated using 26 microsatellites recommended by the Food and Agriculture Organization & the International Society of Animal Genetics (FAO-ISAG). The allele frequencies, genetic heterozygosity (H) and polymorphism information content (PIC) have been calculated. The results showed that genetic diversity of Chinese indigenous pig breeds is higher than that of the introduced pig breeds. The clustering of 10 breeds is generally consistent with their geographical distribution.

        Dynamic behavior analysis of reciprocating compressor with subsidence fault considering flexible piston rod

        Subsidence wear is inevitable in a reciprocating compressor system, but how to induce body vibration is not clear. We investigated the dynamic behavior of a reciprocating compressor system with subsidence fault considering a flexible piston rod. The flexible piston rod was modeled as a cantilever beam. The dynamic model, in which the influence of the subsidence size, variational cylinder pressure, impact effects and piston rod flexibility are taken into account, was established. Influences of the four parameters including subsidence size, vertical force of flexible piston rod, cylinder pressure and crankshaft speed were analyzed in the dynamic response. Numerical results reveal that with the change of the four parameters, the existence of subsidence fault has a significant effect on the displacement, velocity and acceleration of the crosshead in the transverse direction, but only conspicuously affects the acceleration in the longitudinal direction. In addition to cylinder pressure, the larger the values of the other three parameters, the greater the influences. The cylinder pressure is a time-varying working load. Not only the cylinder pressure but also the open/close time of the valves and change rate of the pressure all affect the dynamic behavior of the system with subsidence. Meanwhile, the change in the vertical force of the flexible piston rod has a remarkable effect on the jump position of the crosshead, but the effect of other parameters is not obvious. In addition, the changes of parameters produce obvious influences on the impact force and the impact range of the crosshead. The stability of the reciprocating compressor system was studied using Poincaré portraits method. The result shows that the system with subsidence fault has chaotic behavior.
