So far, the claim that North Korea’s military strategy is ‘continuing’ to dominate the entire Korean Peninsula as usual and that it is ‘changing’ are confronting each other. The purpose of the study is to analyze the changes recent security environment and in North Korea’s military strategy during the period of change in power leading to Kim Il-sung, Kim Jeng-il, and Kim Jeng-un and predict the change in North Korea’s military strategy to focus on economic construction after the completion of nuclear power as a military strategy under the situation of limited war. The research method mainly conducted qualitative research through literature research. It covers the period since Kim Il Sung took power. The focus of the analysis was on the components of the military strategy. According to the study, Kim Jeng Un will pursue a military strategy with the stability of the regime as his top priority. It was analyzed that the military strategy that could be adopted would threaten the use of nuclear weapons and seek limited warfare. In addition, under the situation of North Korea’s limited warfare, the military strategy was predicted centering on the components of the military strategy. In contrast, the South Korean military is required to develop a military strategy in parallel in response to North Korea’s ‘restricted charge military strategy’ from the center of the existing all-out war.

Purpose: To evaluate the effect of intraoperative mitomycin C (MMC) on the surgical outcomes of ciliary sulcus (CS) Ahmed glaucoma valve (AGV) tube placement. Methods: A retrospective review of medical records of 54 consecutive patients who underwent AGV implantation with tube placed in CS was performed. Consecutive cases operated without the use of intraoperative MMC from 2017 to 2019 were compared with consecutive cases operated with MMC from 2019 to 2021. Surgical failure was defined as intraocular pressure (IOP) exceeding 21 mmHg in two consecutive visits after postoperative 3 months or ≤30% IOP reduction, IOP ≤5 mmHg in two consecutive visits, or loss of light perception. Kaplan-Meier survival analysis and log-rank test were performed to compare the surgical failure rates. Results: A total of 54 eyes of 54 patients were investigated. Mean follow-up period after AGV implantation was 1.4 ± 0.8 years. The MMC group showed significantly lower IOP during the 1st postoperative month (20.5 ± 8.6 mmHg vs. 15.8 ± 6.4 mmHg, p = 0.027), but the difference did not persist 6 months after the surgery (p = 0.805). The mean number of postoperative antiglaucoma medications was significantly lower in the MMC group in the 1st postoperative month (p = 0.047) but no difference was found at 6 months. No statistical difference was noted in the rates of postoperative complications. Kaplan- Meier survival analysis showed comparable survival rates between MMC group and no MMC group (p = 0.356). Conclusions: The intraoperative use of MMC significantly lowered IOP in the 1st postoperative month but did not increase 6 months success rates in patients receiving AGV tube placement in CS.

Magnetic circular dichroism measurement of Co films on Pd(111) substrate
Kwanghyun Cho,C. N. Whang,Wookje Kim,Wondong Kim,H.-J. Kim,Jae-Young Kim,Hoon Koh,S. J. Oh,J.-H. Park 한국진공학회(ASCT) 2001 Journal of Korean Vacuum Science & Technology Vol.5 No.2
We measured x-ray magnetic circular dichroism of Co films on Pd(111) surface with and without Pd capping layer at the Co L₂,₃ edges. Perpendicular magnetization and orbital-moment enhancement are induced by the capping layer.
The increase of perpendicular magnetic anisotropy induced by capping layer is considered to result from the increase of surface anisotropy due to the hybridization at the surface.

OBJECTIVES: Identifying determinants of prevention behaviours during the emergence of a new infectious disease is important. We investigated the associations between information-seeking and prevention behaviours during the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic and mediating effects of psychiatric factors. METHODS: In total, 1,970 participants from the Cardiovascular and Metabolic Etiology Research Center cohort participated in an online survey 55 days after the first COVID-19 case in Korea was diagnosed. Time spent seeking information related to COVID-19; information sources; psychiatric factors, including anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress symptoms (PTSS), and the fear of COVID-19; and prevention behaviours were examined. The mediating effect of psychiatric factors was estimated using mediation analysis. RESULTS: Time spent seeking information and information sources affected several behavioural responses. In men, anxiety mediated associations between information-seeking and prevention behaviours, including purchasing sanitary supplies (effect size [ES], 0.038; 95% confidence interval [CI], 0.002 to 0.095) and hoarding (ES, 0.029; 95% CI, 0.002 to 0.068). The fear of COVID-19 also mediated associations between information-seeking and prevention behaviours including refraining from going out (men: ES, 0.034; 95% CI, 0.009 to 0.068; women: ES, 0.052; 95% CI, 0.030 to 0.080), wearing face masks (men: ES, 0.085; 95% CI, 0.031 to 0.184), avoiding public transportation (men: ES, 0.020; 95% CI, 0.000 to 0.044; women: ES, 0.031; 95% CI, 0.015 to 0.051), hoarding (women: ES, 0.051; 95% CI, 0.029 to 0.792), and trying alternative remedies (men: ES, 0.024; 95% CI, 0.004 to 0.053). Depressive symptoms and PTSS did not have any mediating effects. CONCLUSIONS: While the availability of information related to COVID-19 can help prevent infections, it can also promote anxiety and fear, leading to negative behaviours such as hoarding and trying unverified alternative treatments.

Low-bandgap organic sensitizers are designed and synthesized for high photocurrent generation in dye-sensitized solar cell. Introduction of the -conjugated benzothiadiazole (BTD) unit in K1, designated as K2, decreases the highest occupied molecular orbital-lowest unoccupied molecular orbital (HOMO-LUMO) gap energy from 2.63 to 2.10 eV, whereas the photovoltaic performance is not improved although the absorption threshold in incident photon-to-current conversion efficiency spectrum is extended from 650 nm to approximately 800 nm. Low photovoltaic performance is overcome by introduction of a phenylenevinylene moiety next to the BTD unit in K2, designated as K3 that shows similar HOMO-LUMO gap energy and absorbance to those of K2. As a result, a K3-sensitized 5 m-thick TiO solar cell demonstrates photocurrent density of 12.24 mA/cm, voltage of 0.549 V, and conversion efficiency of 3.8%, which is better than the conversion efficiency of 2.49% for K2 with photocurrent density of 8.13 mA/cm and voltage of 0.470 V. According to nanosecond transient absorption spectroscopic study, photoexcited electron injection efficiency of K3 is found to be three times higher than that of K2, which is attributed to the higher photocurrent of K3.

Regioselectivity on the reactions of α,β-enones with organoindium such as in situ generated allylindium and allenylindium was systematically studied in the presence of TMSCl as an additive. Treatment of 2-cyclohexen- 1-one, carvone, 2-cyclohepten-1-one, and chalcone with allylindium reagent produced 1,4-addition products in good yields, while 2-cyclopenten-1-one, 2-methyl-2-cyclopenten-1-one, 4,4-dimethylcyclohexen-1-one, 3- nonen-2-one, 4-hexen-3-one, and 4-phenyl-3-buten-2-one afforded 1,2-addition products. Indium reagent derived from indium and propargyl bromide in Grignard type gave addition products in good yields, under which the successive addition of α,β-enone and TMSCl were necessary. Although organoindium reagent derived from propargyl bromide produced propargylated compound in Grignard type except 2-cyclohepten-1- one, indium reagent obtained from 1-bromo-2-butyne having γ-methyl group gave allenylated product in Barbier type.
