      • 동북아 피더네트워크의 Win-win전략에 관한 연구

        최근 중국은 양산항을 개장하여 선사 유치를 위한 다양한 혜택을 제공하고, 일본은 "수퍼중추항만 육성계획“을 세워 항만의 효율성을 바탕으로 비용을 낮추려는 노력을 하고 있다. 또한 선박의 대형화에 의한 중심항만(Hub Port) 위주의 기항과 북중국의 대량 물량 발생지역에 대한 직기항 경향으로 동북아 항만간의 경쟁이 더욱더 치열해 지고 있으며 동북아 역내 피더네트워크 강화의 필요성이 제기되고 있다. 따라서, 본 연구에서는 유럽 피더네트워크 전략 사례를 바탕으로 동북아 피더시장 현황을 파악하고 동북아 피더네트워크 구조를 분석함으로써 동북아 역내 항만 및 선사간의 과당경쟁을 지양하고 서로 Win-Win할 수 있는 터미널의 전략적 활용, 선사간 제휴 확대, 항만간 협력 강화를 위한 구체적인 전략을 제시하였다. Recently, China opened Yangshan port and provides a variety of benefits for shipping companies. Japan plans to reduce logistics costs and improve efficiency through the established "super major ports" project. According to the "hub and spokes" system, the number of direct calls toward North-Chinese ports are increasing. This changing environment has negative effects on the amount of transshipment cargos in Korean ports. In order to make a hub port of a domestic port, it is necessary to develop northeast Asian feeder networks. Therefore, this paper analyzes the structure of northeast Asian feeder networks through the case study of European feeder networks strategy. Finally, we suggests the plans to reinforce feeder networks, which are strategic terminal operation, strategic alliances between shipping companies and port co-operation, for win-win strategy in the competitive northeast Asian market.

        Effects of Safety Training and Leader Consideration Behaviors on Job-Related Injuries

        근로자를 위한 안전교육의 중요성에 대한 관심이 많지 않다. 이에 본 연구에서는, 가정봉사원들을 위한 안전교육이 어떻게 그들의 업무관련부상에 영향을 주는지 조사하였다. 이와 더불어, 안전교육이 직속상사의 인간 중심적 배려행동과 상호작용을 통해 가정봉사원들의 업무관련부상에 미치는 영향도 함께 살펴보았다. 이 연구를 위하여 노인들을 위해 일하는 282명의 가정봉사원을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였고, 이를 통하여 얻은 자료에 대하여 다중회귀분석을 실시하였다. 분석 결과에 따르면, 예상했던 바와 같이 가정봉사원들이 더 많은 안전 교육을 받을수록 더 적은 부상을 직장에서 경험하는 것으로 나타났다. 또한, 상사가 더 많은 배려행동을 보였을 때에, 안전교육의 긍정적인 효과, 즉, 업무관련부상의 감소가 더욱 두드러짐을 알 수 있었다. 후행 분석에서는, 직속상사의 업무 중심적 행동은 배려행동이 가졌던 조절효과를 보이지 않았던 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구의 결과를 고려할 때, 가정봉사원들은 업무 중에 겪을 수 있는 부상을 예방하기 위해 적극적으로 안전교육을 받을 필요가 있다. 또한, 가정봉사원들의 상사도 단지 안전교육의 기회를 제공하는 것에 그치지 않고, 업무 중심적인 행동보다는 인간 중심적 행동을 보임으로써 안전교육이 더 효과적일 수 있게 도와야 할 것이다. The importance of the safety training for employees has not been paid to attention on. The present study investigated how safety training customized for home health aides would influence their job-related injuries. Then, it was further examined how the safety training would interact with their immediate supervisors’ consideration behaviors in predicting such injuries. With the sample of 282 home health aides working for senior people, it was found that, as expected, increased safety training resulted in decreased injuries on the job. Additional, it was also found that when supervisors demonstrated more consideration behaviors, home health aides under those supervisors were less likely to be involved in job-related injuries. In a post hoc analysis, supervisors’ initiative structure behaviors interacting with safety training were found not to have the same effects on home health aides’ injuries on the job. The study findings suggest that for reducing and preventing home health aides from being injured, it is necessary for their supervisors not only to provide safety training opportunities to home health aides, but also to be person-oriented rather than task-oriented.

        A Case of Significant Endobronchial Injury due to Recurrent Iron Pill Aspiration

        Gastric mucosal damage by iron pills is often reported. However, iron pill aspiration is uncommon. Oxidation of the impacted iron pill causes bronchial mucosal damage that progresses to chronic bronchial inflammation, necrosis, endobronchial stenosis and rarely, perforation. We reported a case of a 92-year-old woman with chronic productive cough and significant left-sided atelectasis. Bronchoscopy revealed substantial luminal narrowing with exudative inflammation of the left main bronchus. Bronchial washing cytology showed necroinflammatory exudate and a small amount of brown material. Mucosal biopsy showed diffuse brown pigments indicative of ferrous pigments, crystal deposition, and marked tissue degeneration. After vigorous coughing, she expectorated dark sediments and her symptoms and radiological abnormalities improved. There are a few such reports worldwide; however, this was the first case reported in Korea. Careful observation of aspiration-prone patients and early detection of iron pill aspiration may prevent iron pill-induced bronchial injury.

      • Humidity-Independent Oxide Semiconductor Chemiresistors Using Terbium-Doped SnO<sub>2</sub> Yolk-Shell Spheres for Real-Time Breath Analysis

        <P>The chemiresistive sensing characteristics of metal oxide gas sensors depend closely on ambient humidity. Herein, we report that gas sensors using Tb-doped SnO<SUB>2</SUB> yolk-shell spheres can be used for reliable acetone detection, regardless of the variations in humidity. Pure SnO<SUB>2</SUB> and Tb-doped SnO<SUB>2</SUB> yolk-shell spheres were prepared via ultrasonic spray pyrolysis and their chemiresistive sensing characteristics were studied. The sensor resistance and gas response of the pure SnO<SUB>2</SUB> yolk-shell spheres significantly changed and deteriorated upon exposure to moisture. In stark contrast, the Tb-doped SnO<SUB>2</SUB> yolk-shell spheres exhibited similar gas responses and sensor resistances in both dry and humid [relative humidity (RH) 80%] atmospheres. In addition, the Tb-doped SnO<SUB>2</SUB> yolk-shell sensors showed a high gas response (resistance ratio) of 1.21 to the sub-ppm-levels (50 ppb) of acetone with low responses to the other interference gases. The effects of Tb oxide and the chemical interactions among the Tb oxide, SnO<SUB>2</SUB>, and water vapor on this humidity-independent gas sensing behavior of the Tb-doped SnO<SUB>2</SUB> yolk-shell sensors were investigated. This strategy can provide a new road to achieve highly sensitive, selective, and humidity-independent sensing of acetone, which will facilitate miniaturized and real-time exhaled breath analysis for diagnosing diabetes.</P> [FIG OMISSION]</BR>

      • Self-enhancement or Self-consistency? Underlying Mechanism of Rating Discrepancy Influence

        Despite the pervasiveness of rating discrepancy in organizations, there has been little research to examine how this common phenomenon occurring in performance appraisal influences an employee's work relationships with an organization and a leader. In a field study surveying 147 R&D workers who were evaluated under forced distribution rating system, the present research explored this question by focusing on how a jarring event of rating discrepancy would affect an employee's turnover intention and leader-member exchange. With polynomial regression analysis and response surface methodology in a real-time research design, it was found that there were predicted curvilinear relationships between rating discrepancy and turnover intention and leader-member exchange, respectively and that these curvilinear relationships were asymmetrical.

        운동 유발성 알레르기 질환(FDEIA)에 미치는 영향과 기전분석

        본 연구에서는 우선 운동 강도(저강도, 중강도, 고강도)를 달리하여 훈련한 서로 다른 그룹에서 운동 유발성 알러지 아나필락시스의 차이를 규명하고 운동강도에 따른 운동 유발성 알러지 질환의 기전을 규명하고자 본 연구를 실시 하였다. 본 실험을 위하여 군당 25마리씩 통제군(S; control sensitized, n=25), 저강도 훈련군(S30, n=25), 중강도 훈련군(S50, n=25) 및 고강도 훈련군(S80, n=25)으로 구분하여 수영훈련 강도별 알러지를 유도하였을 때, 알러지 아나필락시스를 조사하고 아울러 비장지수, 림프구의 수, 림프구 증식반응, 싸이토카인(IL-4, INF-γ), 항체 및 복강과 비장의 ROS를 함께 측정하였다. 본 연구 결과, 일반 감작군에 비하여 운동 감작군에서 알러지가 더 잘 일어남을 확인하였고, 운동강도의 증가와도 밀접한 것으로 확인되었다. 이는 운동강도가 증가할수록 OVA반응에 대한 림프구 증가가 현저하게 일어나는 원인과 복강활성산소의 증가 및 알러지 면역반응에 중요한 역할을 담당하는 싸이토카인인 IL-4의 증가 때문인 것으로 해석할 수 있다. 특히, 운동강도의 증가에 따라 INF-γ의 감소도 의미 있는 결과로 해석된다. 따라서 추후 운동 강도뿐만이 아니라 운동빈도에 따라서도 FDEIA의 변화에 대한 심도 있는 연구가 필요하다고 여겨진다. Food-dependent exercise-induced anaphylaxis (FDEIA) is a distinct form of food allergy induced by physical exercise. It is typified by the onset of anaphylaxis during exercise, which is preceded by the ingestion of causal food allergens. Diagnosis of FDEIA is heavily dependent on clinical history. To describe the physiopathological mechanism, etiologic factors, and clinical manifestations, we evaluated the spleen index, proliferation assay of lymphocyte, ROS, ASAS, and cytokines levels in sensitized and exercise-trained mice. One-hundred mice were bred in the animal lab at D and P university under controlled conditions [22±2℃, RH 45-55%, and a 12-hour photoperiod]. Animals are 7-weeks-old at the time of study and were fed a standard commercial chow diet from 09:00 to 15:00 over the 8-week study period. The mice were allowed access to distilled deionized water ad libitum. Daily food intake and weekly body gains were routinely recorded throughout the experimental period using computing scale (CAS). Mice were divided into the control group (S; control sensitized, n=25), 30 min swim training group (S30, N=25), 50 min swim training group (S50, N=25), and 80 min swim training group (S80, N=25). The results were as follows: Spleen index showed the highest level in the S80 group compared to other groups; this level was exercise-dependent. In proliferation assay of Med and OVA, the S80 group showed the highest level compared to the other groups; this level also was exercise intensity-dependent. Peritoneal ROS and IL-4 showed a statistically significant difference compared to S; however, there was no significant differences in ROS among S30, 50, and 80. From the results, we concluded that FDEIA is correlated with exercise intensity based on the levels of peritoneal ROS and cytokine profiles.

      • Effects of obesity and exercise training on mitochondrial function and insulin resistance in aging skeletal muscle

        The objectives of this study were: (1) to determine the impacts of high fat diet-induced obesity on mitochondrial function and insulin resistance in aged skeletal muscle and (2) to determine the effects of exercise training on mitochondrial dysfunction and insulin resistance induced by obesity and aging in skeletal muscle. Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly divided into four groups: 4-month young control (YC), 20-month old control (OC), old high fat diet group (OH), and old high fat diet and exercise group (OH+EX). After obesity was induced by 7 weeks of 60% high fat feeding in old groups, treadmill exercise training was performed 6 times a week for 7 weeks. Mitochondrial function (e.g., H2O2 emission, Ca2+ retention capacity) was measured in permeabilized skeletal muscle (e.g., soleus, and white gastrocnemius), and oral glucose tolerance test (OGTT) and Western immunoblot analysis were performed to determine insulin resistance. Mitochondrial H2O2 emission was increased in white gastrocnemius (type IIb muscle) of OC and OH compared with YC. However, exercise training attenuated mitochondrial H2O2 emission in OH+EX compared with OC and OH. Mitochondrial Ca2+ retention capacity was not significantly altered between groups in soleus (type I muscle). However, in white gastrocnemius, mitochondrial Ca2+ retention capacity was reduced in OC and OH compared with YC and, conversely improved in OH+EX compared with OC and OH. Insulin resistance was also increased in OC and OH compared with YC. By contrast, insulin resistance was attenuated in OH+EX compared with OC and OH. In conclusion, our data reported that high fat diet increased mitochondrial H2O2 emission, reduced mitochondrial Ca2+ retention capacity, and induced insulin resistance in aged skeletal muscle. However, exercise training reduced mitochondrial H2O2 emission, improved mitochondrial Ca2+ retention capacity, and attenuated insulin resistance in aged and obese skeletal muscle, suggesting that exercise training plays a protective role in aging and obesity (i.e., sarcopenic obesity)-induced mitochondrial dysfunction and insulin resistance in the rat skeletal muscle.
