MUSIC 알고리즘용 고유치 분해법의 하드웨어 구현

This paper describes the hardware implementation of the EVD (Eigenvalue Decomposition) method for MUSIC algorithm. MUSIC algorithm is one of the super resolution algorithm which can estimated DOA. Applying isomorphic transformation, this system can be formulated in terms of real-valued computation. And using the householder matrix, we could reduce the burden of computation to evaluate the eigenvalue decomposition. Results show that eigenvalues have error rates within 0.7% in Matlab and VHDL simulation. The unique features of this system are the fast and compact computation of EVD.

A 6 years old Schunauzer dog (7.2kg, intact female) with history of hematuria for two days was referred to the Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital of Chungnam National University. Complete blood cell count showed no significant abnormalities and serum chemistry profile showed increased phosphate profile. On urinanalysis, there was evidence of bacterial infection. On ultrasonographic evaluation, irregular renal contour and increased echogenecity, pelvic and uretral dilation, and thickening of urinary bladder wall were observed. Based on these finding, the dog was diagnosed as pyelonephritis. The dog was treated with antibiotics based on antimicrobial susceptibility test results, then successfully resolved after 8 weeks of treatment.

Olfactory neuroblastoma 증례보고

Olfactory neuroblastoma is an uncommon malignant tumor(just over 300 cases have been reported in the medical literature by 1996)arising within the nasal cavity. This tumor has a neuroectodermal cell origin and is believed to specifically arise from the olfactory epithelium. The tumor was ftrst decribed in the French medical literayure by Berger and associates in 1924 by the name esthesioneuropitheliome olfactif. The english version of this term is esthesioneuroblastoma, and current medical literture uses this name interchangeably with olfactory neuroblastoma. We experienced a case of olfactory neuroblastoma in the mxillary sinus. We treated this patient with tumor resection, chmotherapy and radiotherapy. And now, the patient has been following up for 2years 6month, but olfactory neuroblastoma is very rare. SO we report this case with a review of literature.

치매의 행동신경심리증상에 대한 비약물학적 접근

Treatment of BPSD is a crucial problem in the care of patient of AD. Psychotrophic medications are used very commonly to reduce the frequency and severity of these behaviors. However, the evidence in support of their usefulness is limited, and side effects are frequent and often hazardous. Non-pharmacological strategies such as behavioral modification, activity program, carer education and music therapy are promoted as safe, humane and at least as effective as medications, but the evidence for this view is lacking. The purpose of this paper is to provide a review of relevant research findings concerning non-pharmacological approaches to behavioral disturbances in people with dementia.

Acetazolamide가 적혈구막의 Na-K-ATPase 활성도에 미치는 영향

This study was attempted to investigate the action of acetazolamide on the Na-K- ATPase activity in the rabbit RBC membrane. The red cell ghost was obtained by means of Rossenberg and Guidotti and the amounts of isolated inorganic phosphorus as an index of Na-K-ATPase activity was determined by the method of Fiske and SubbaRow. The Na-K-ATPase activity was expressed as the unit of μM Pi/10min/g-protein. The results obtained are summarized as follows. 1. The Na-K-ATPase activity of the RBC membrane was related to incubation time. but the activity per g-protein was large at the 10 min incubation. 2. The Na-K-ATPase activity was related with protein concentration of incubation medium, while there were no difference the activity per g-protein relatively greater in 90 mg/ml protein. 3. 0.5 and 10.0 mg/ml of acetazolamide was inhibit the Na-K-ATPase activity while 5.0 mg/ml of it enhanced the activity. From the above results, it was suggested that the acetazolamide affect Na^+ transport across the cell membrane by alter the Na-K-ATPase activity.

소아의 하악 과두 골절의 비외과적 치료 : 증례보고 CASES REPORTS

Of all facial fractures in children, condylar fractures have the greatest propensity to produce a growth disturbance. The pediatric condylar fracture occurs very frequently in the mandible, but this injury is occasionally ignored due to difficulty of diagnosis and no cooperation of patient. The adequate initial diagnosis and active treatment must be performed because delayed and improper treatment lead to possible severe complications such as facial asymmetry, TMJ pain, limiation of motion and deflection, midline deviation of the dental arch. So, the goal of managing condyle fractures in the growing patient is to restore mandibular symmetry, occlusion, function without interfering with future growth. Commonly, fracture teatment aims at restoring function through repositioning and rigid fixation of the bony fragments. However, the generally preferred management of condylar fractures in growing children is nonsurgical. So, we present the clinical and radiographic follow-up results of 4 condylar fractures in pediatric patients whom we managed in conservative and functional method. We can summarize our protocol in management of pediatric condylar fracture as the following: The IMF using acrylic resin splint with circumferential wiring was performed for 1 or 2 weeks. After releasing IMF, the active physical therapy was done with guiding elastic band. Opening deviation was controlled by mannual pressure of surgeon or parents for 2 weeks. When unstable occlusion or functional problem remained, functional appliance after construction bite registration was used for several months.

개에서 교통사고에 의한 폐좌성 1례

A 4 years old, mixed male dog with a history of traffic accident was presented to the Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital of Chungnam National University with tachypnea and respiratory distress. Physical examination showed that the dog was auscultated crackles sounds, dysynchronous abdominal breathing pattern, hemoptysis, hematuria, urodynia and right and left scleral congestion. Blood and blood chemical examination revealed that WBC, AST and ALT was highly elevated. Parenchymal pulmonary fluid and closed pneumothorax were observed by thoracic radiography. This case was diagnosed as pulmonary contusion. Intravenous fluid and oxygen was administered and also dexamethasone(1mg/kg, Ⅳ), furosemide(2mg/kg, Ⅳ), (ampicillin, 20mg/kg, Ⅳ) and meloxicam(0.2mg/kg, PO) were intravenously injected for 5 days. Abnormal clinical signs were disappeared after treatment.

Rehabilitation medicine patients in Korea have increased due to the development of medical technology and the structural change of diseases resulted from life quality improvement. Following this trend, many hospitals are making efforts, such as renovating rehabilitation medicine, but architectural criteria are not sufficiently suggested for specialized rehabilitation medicine. The purpose of this study is to present the research data to improve the quality of rehabilitation medicine in general hospital. Data collecting skills such as drawing documents analysis, interviews, observation were used to examine the condition of rehabilitation medicine. And, case study method was used to generate the design data which can be used for the appropriate spatial composition and the area calculation

전산화단층촬영에 있어서 X-선 흡수계수의 신뢰도에 관한 실험적 연구

For evaluation of reliability of CT numbers, one ovoid and three round phantoms, which were filled with pure water and different in their diameters, were scanned under various conditions with five whole body and four head CT scanners. The results were as follows: 1. The ovoid phantom similar to human body in size and shape scanned with whole body scanners revealed stable and relatively correct CT numbers throughout entire of phantom. 2. CT numbers were generally higher in phantoms of round and smaller types. 3. There was definite tendency to show higher CT numbers at peripheral zone of phantoms. 4. With increase of kVp, CT numbers were decreased. 5. By the change in mA and slice thickness, some CT scanners were influenced, but the others were not. 6. CT numbers were not influenced by scan time. 7. CT numbers were not influenced by position of phantom in the aperture of gantry of CT scanner. 8. The bone density had no influence upon CT numbers at the region distant more than 1㎝. In two CT scanners, CT numbers were significantly increased within 1㎝ to bone density higher than 455 Hounsfield Unit. 9. CT scanners from different manufacturers showed different results, but those of same model from same manufacturer revealed similar results.
