Determining Perceived Values of M-Banking Adoption
Kiuk Sung,Sungho Lee,Sang-Il Lee 한국디지털융합학회 2021 IJICTDC Vol.6 No.2
This study develops a mobile banking (hereafter M-banking) research model by adopting the concept of ‘perceived value’ which mediates the relationship between M-banking quality and M-banking attractiveness and usage. A questionnaire-based field survey was administered to M-banking users (n=273). Our findings revealed that the perceived value of M-banking services depends heavily on information quality, whereas system and service quality exert at least some influence on the M-banking value. We also found that monetary value and emotional value significantly affected M-banking attractiveness, while monetary value, functional value and M-banking attractiveness significantly influenced M-banking usage. Further, interesting differences between early and late adopters were found.
Dietary Black Raspberry Seed Oil Ameliorates Inflammatory Activities in db/db Mice
Lee, Hee Jae,Jung, Hana,Cho, Hyunnho,Lee, Kiuk,Kwak, Ho-Kyung,Hwang, Keum Taek Springer 2016 Lipids Vol.51 No.6

The objective of this study was to evaluate the status of the markers related to inflammation in db/db mice fed black raspberry seed (BRS) oil, which is rich in alpha-linolenic acid. Mice were divided into four groups: (1) C57BL/6 mice fed 16 % calories from soybean oil (normal CON); (2) C57BL/KsJ-db/db mice fed 16 % calories from soybean oil (CON); (3) C57BL/KsJ-db/db mice fed 8 % calories from soybean and 8 % calories from BRS oil (BRS 50 %); and (4) C57BL/KsJ-db/db mice fed 16 % calories from BRS oil (BRS 100 %). After 10 weeks, n-6/n-3 fatty acid ratios were significantly (P < 0.05) lower in the livers and epididymal adipose tissues of the BRS 50 % and BRS 100 % mice than in the CON. Serum TNF alpha and IL-6 were significantly (P < 0.05) lower in the BRS 50 % and BRS 100 % than in the CON. Serum IL-10 was significantly (P < 0.05) higher in the BRS 100 % than the CON. In the liver and epididymal adipose tissue, mRNA levels of pro-inflammatory markers in the BRS 50 % and BRS 100 % were lower than in the CON. Anti-inflammatory markers were higher in the epididymal adipose tissues of the BRS 50 % and BRS 100 % than in the CON. In the epididymal adipose tissue, macrophage infiltration markers (F4/80 and CD68) and leptin mRNA were significantly (P < 0.05) lower in the BRS 50 % and BRS 100 % than in the CON. Results of this study suggest that BRS oil may have anti-inflammatory effects in obese diabetic mice by ameliorating inflammatory responses.

Abstract

The microstimulation of specific neural populations of the brain is one of the facile and reliable methods used in neuroscience for deduction of functional movement, complex behavior and even long-range connectivity. Recent advanced biomedical tools now employ flexible optoelectronic devices combined with optogenetic mouse models to induce high spatiotemporal modulation of specific brain activity. However, most current applications are limited to activation of small functional regions using blue-light driven channelrhodopsin. In this report, we introduce flexible AlGaInP vertical light-emitting diodes (VLEDs) for perturbation of specific functional areas of mouse cortex. Micro-scaled LEDs effectively compress the conductive balls dispersed in anisotropic conductive film (ACF) resulting red light emissions with high optical power density, capable of stimulating motor neurons deep below layer III from the brain surface. Selective operation of pulsed red light from f-VLEDs induces mouse body movements and synchronized electromyogram (EMG) signals. The expression of chrimson, red-shifted channelrhodopsin, enables red-light excitation of targeted functional area of motor cortex. This demonstration opens new opportunities for entire cortical mapping, to explore the connectivity between undefined motor areas in the mouse brain.

Highlights

The flexible vertical light-emitting diodes (f-VLEDs) were fabricated by an anisotropic conductive film (ACF).

The f-VLEDs showed the optical power density more than 25mW/mm2, enough to stimulate the motor neurons below layer III.

The f-VLEDs illuminated the frontal motor cortex of the mouse to control the body movements with minimal tissue damage.

Graphical abstract

[DISPLAY OMISSION]

Improved Charge Pump with Reduced Reverse Current
Kiuk Gwak,Sang-Gug Lee,Seung-Tak Ryu 대한전자공학회 2012 Journal of semiconductor technology and science Vol.12 No.3
A highly efficient charge pump that minimizes the reverse charge sharing current (in short, reverse current) is proposed. The charge pump employs auxiliary capacitors and diode-connected MOSFET along with an early clock to drive the charge transfer switches; this new method provides better isolation between stages. As a result, the amount of reverse current is reduced greatly and the clock driver can be designed with reduced transition slope. As a proof of the concept, a 1.1V-to-9.8 V charge pump was designed in a 0.35 μm 18 V CMOS technology. The proposed architecture shows 1.6 V ~ 3.5 V higher output voltage compared with the previously reported architecture.
CONSTRUCTION OF A DISASTER PREVENTION SYSTEM BASED ON WSN/GIS FOR URBAN SAFETY
Jeongeun Lee,Seonghyun Shin,Hyunsuk Hwang,Kiuk Kim,Changsoo Kim 한국멀티미디어학회 2007 한국멀티미디어학회 국제학술대회 Vol.2007 No.-
The disaster prevention systems still focus on its recovery more than the prevention of disaster events. As disaster events happen often and its loss becomes massive, the construction of disaster predication systems is essentially needed to keep safe urban. We propose a real-time monitoring system to prevent dangerous disaster events using Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN) and Geographic Information System (GIS). We construct wireless sensor nodes with gas sensors and temperature sensors and implement a prototype application to monitor the data transmitted from sensors. Also we implement the application based on GIS to do efficient management the location and sensors. Our contribution is to provide a prototype application of disaster prevention with real-time data on wireless sensor networks to keep safe urban.
Design of the Integrated Monitoring System to Improve the Safeness of Underground Space
Jeongeun Lee,Tanka Nath Sharma,Hyunsuk Hwang,Kiuk Kim,Sungje Kim,Kyooseok Park,Kyubark Shim,Changsoo Kim 한국멀티미디어학회 2008 한국멀티미디어학회 국제학술대회 Vol.2008 No.-
Even though the use of the underground space increases, the reaction for the safety is a shortage of something. Particularly, the minimum supplement of safety facilities and the unprepared method for checking threaten the occurrence of disasters. In this paper, we design an integrated monitoring system using new IT technology to cope rapidly with disasters. Our system collects basic data for recognizing the disasters using sensor networks, detect the escape path using 3D GIS for rapidly escaping from the disaster area, and include the facility management system for recognizing the operation status. Also, the effectiveness of the proposed system is assured by presenting the reaction process based on the monitoring system with a disaster scenario.

CAI (Controlled Auto-Ignition) combustion experiments were conducted with a four-stroke, naturally aspirated, single-cylinder gasoline engine. To realize CAI combustion, internal residual gas fraction was controlled by adjusting intake and exhaust valve lift and valve under-lap using the mechanically variable valve device. Fuel was injected during the valve under-lap period using the direct injection system. For the representative 5 part-load points, the fuel consumption and NOx emission benefits were evaluated.
