        Mobile nodes in ad hoc mobile networks typically communicate over wireless channels and are capable of movement. These are networks that support multihop communication and can be formed on a temporary basis. This paper proposes a solution that allows mobile nodes to access the wired Internet and to roam from base station to base station. And we also develop the efficient method that adapts in Global MANET which can be changed over time. It is observed that we can reduce not only error detection time but also network load, thus increasing the data reception rate in Global MANET Environment.

        Abstract - In this thesis, we propose a QoS supporting method on wireless ad hoc-based active network for improving reliability. On the loss of route path, the existing DSR routing protocol has several problems with wireless network communication because of decease of data reception rate and increase of network load. The proposed method improves reliability of data transfer by using functions of active network. That is, by using functions of active nodes and active packets, the proposed method supports QoS with reservation transfer method that saves data packets on transfer at intermediate nodes with lost path and then re-transmit the packets after route reconfiguration.

      • 말초혈액에서 Tg mRNA에 대한 역전사 중합효소 연쇄 반응법의 갑상선 재발암의 분자생물학적 진단

        연구배경: 갑상선암은 다른 조직에 발생한 암에 비해 비교적 천천히 자라므로 대부분 예후가 양호하지만, 일부에서는 주위 조직으로 침윤하거나 혹은 원격 전이로 인하여 치명적인 결과를 초래할 수 있다. 갑상선전절제술 및 131^I 제거술 후 경과 관찰시 갑상선암의 재발과 전이의 진단에 있어 131^I 스캔과 혈청 Tg의 측정이 현재 임상에서 가장 많이 이용되고 있으나 이 방법에는 여러 가지의 결점이 있다. 최근 Tg mRNA에 대한 RT-PCR법을 이용한 여러 연구결과는 131^I 스캔과 혈청 Tg 측정의 결점을 보완할 수 있는 좋은 보조적인 진단법으로 이용할 수 있을 가능성을 제시하였다. 이에 말초혈액에서 측정한 Tg mRNA에 대한 RT-PCR법이 갑상선 절제술 및 방사성요드 치료 후 갑상선암의 재발 및 전이 유무의 진단에 유용한가를 알아보고자 이 연구 시행하였다. 방법: 분화된 갑상선암으로 진단된 후 갑상선전절제술을 시행받고 방사성요드 치료를 받은 환자 중 현재까지 한차례에 이상 추적 방사성요드 전신 스캔을 시행하고 추적관찰이 가능했던 유두선암 35예, 여포선암 5예를 대상으로 연구를 시행하였다. 대상군은 131^I 스캔 소견상 음성인 군(Group Ⅰ), 잔여조직이 있는 군(Group Ⅱ), 국소전이가 있는 군(Group Ⅲ), 및 원격전이 군(Group Ⅳ)으로 구분하였다. 정상 대조군은 갑상선질환이 없는 10예의 건강인으로 하였다. 대상환자의 말초혈액을 이용한 Tg mRNA에 대해 특이적인 primer를 이용하여 RT-PCR 및 nested RT-PCR을 시행하였다. 결과: 본 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 1) 131^I 스캔 소견상 음성인 군 21예 중 1예에서 Tg가 양성소견을 보였다. Anti Tg Ab가 양성인 4예 모두 Tg가 음성을 보였다. 잔여조직이 있거나 국소전이 및 원격전이를 보인 군 19예 중 Tg가 양성인 경우는 4예였으나, Tg mRNA는 전예에서 양성이었다. 2) 131^I 스캔에서 국소 및 원격전이 소견을 보인 8예 중 4예에서 Tg가 음성으로 131^I 스캔과 혈청 Tg 사이에 불일치 소견을 보였다. 3) 말초혈액에서 특이적인 primer를 이용하여 RT-PCR 및 nested RT-PCR을 시행한 결과 대상군 40예 및 정상 대조군 10예 모두에서 Tg mRNA가 양성을 보였다. 결론: 본 연구에서 갑상선 절제술 및 방사성요드 치료 후 갑상선암의 재발 및 전이 유무를 평가함에 있어 역전사 중합효소 연쇄 반응법을 이용한 Tg mRNA 측정의 의의는 재평가되어야 한다고 생각된다. Background: Differentiated thyroid cancer is the most common endocrine malignancy. Despite advances in the treatment of thyroid cancer, disease recurrence and metastasis may occur in as many as 20% of patients, and so continues to pose major problems in its clinical management. Serum thyroglobulin (Tg) measurements, by immunoassay, are used to detect residual or recurrent thyroid cancer following thyriod ablation. However, the usefulness of immunoassay is limited by both the requirement for thyroid hormone withdrawal, to attain optimal test sensitivity, and interference by the antithyroglobulin antibody (Anti-Tg Ab). Recent studies have reported the clinical usefulness of reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) detection of Tg mRNA in the peripheral blood of patients with differentiated thyroid carcinomas. We performed this study to evaluated the usefulness RT-PCR of Tg mRNA in peripheral blood of patients with thyroid carcinoma following a total thyroidectomy and radioiodine ablation therapy. Methods: Forty cases that underwent a total thyroidectomy and radioiodine ablation therapy were included in this study. Of the 40 patients, 35 were papillary carcinomas and 5 were follicular carcinomas. Ten normal control subjects were also studied. Tg mRNA was extracted. Then RT-PCR and nested RT-PCR, were run with specific Tg primers. Concurrently, DNA sequencing of the isolates was carried out to prove the isolates were identical to the nucleotide sequence of the Tg. Results: The Tg was detected in 4 of 19 patients, with either a residual thyroid bed, or metastasis, on a 131^I whole body scan and in 1 of 21 patients with a negative radioiodine scan. Surprisingly, the Tg mRNA was detected in all the patients and normal controls. Conclusion: From our results we can not recommend Tg mRNA, detected by RT-PCR in peripheral blood, as a tumor marker superior to that of the Tg serum level. We consider an intensive re-evaluation of the method is required before considering its clinical applications (J Kor Soc Endocrinol 17:501∼513, 2002).

      • HFC-134a와 대체냉매 HFC-152a에 CF_3I를 혼합한 자동차냉매 특성

        These days, an attention of environment has been increasing all over the world. to prevent the green house effect and destruction of an ozone layer, an ozone destruction potential(ODP) be zero and a refrigerant for low global warming potential(GWP) is needed. HFC-134a, in which hydrogen is mixed instead of chlorine is a refrigerant used for automobile conditioners and its destruction potential is ecologically zero. However, it is not considered as a perfect substitutive refrigerant as its GWP is high. It is studied refrigerant mixtures in which HFC-134a, HFC-152a and CF_3I with low GWP and zero ODP are mixed by experimentally and concluded as follows; 1. with the variation of speed of compressor outside temperature and flow rate, the heat of evaporator and compressor and coefficient of performance was varied, and influenced the air conditioner. 2. The pressure of evaporator was decreased with increasing the speed of compressor and that of the refrigerant HFC-134a was higher 21% than that of azotrope refrigerant mixed with CF_3I. The overall capacity of condensor and evaporator was increased and HGC-134a was higher than azotrope refrigerant mixed with CF_3I 3. The capacity of evaporator with the refrigerant HFC-134a was higher 6% than azotrope refrigerant mixed with CF31 and the required power with zaotrope refrigerant mixed with CF_3I was higher 11% than that of HFC-134a. 4. The COP of the refrigerant FHC-134a was higher 31% in 1000RPM. when outside temperature was increased, COP was decreased. 5. Performance of HFC-134a is better than azotrope refrigerant mixed with CF_3I but prefered zaotrope refrigerant mixed with CF_3I considering the environment.

        With rapid growth of the internet, need for the mobile communication networks is increasing. In this paper, we implement and test Mobile IP Protocol in Embedded System. Our Mobile IP-based testbed consisted of two sub-networks and each sub-network was configured to operate independently through use of router. To satisfy integrated wired/wireless network model established on the testbed design and show generality of the testbed, we implemented mobile nodes, home agent, foreign agent and router on the basis of Linux operating system. As the results of the evaluation, we confirmed that mobile nodes operated properly according to Mobile IP Protocol.

        Differential Effects of Superoxide Radical on the Action Potentials in Ventricular Muscles, Purkinje Fibers and Atrial Muscles in the Heart of Different Aged Rats

        The purpose of this study was to determine whether the effects of the superoxide donor menadione on myocardial electrical activity were regional and/or age-dependent. Action potentials were recorded in cardiac muscles that were isolated from 18- and 49-day old rat hearts, using a conventional microelectrode technique. Superoxide dismutase (SOD) activity was determined spectrophotometrically in regional cardiac muscles. Menadione (30 µM) significantly increased the action potential duration at 90% repolarization (APD90) in Purkinje fibers and ventricular muscles from 18-day old rats; and it decreased the APD in ventricular muscles from 49-day old rats. ATP-sensitive K+ (KATP) channel opener pinacidil blocked menadione-induced effects on the APD90 of Purkinje fibers and ventricular muscles from 18-day old rats, but did not block menadione-induced effects on the APD90 of Purkinje fibers and ventricular muscles from 49-day old rats. The cGMP-dependent protein kinase (PKG) activator or inhibitor did not inhibit the menadione-induced effects on APD90 of ventricular muscles and Purkinje fibers from 18- and 49-day old rats. The superoxide dismutase (SOD) activities in ventricular muscles from 4-, 18- and 49-day old rats, were: 1185 ± 135, 1434 ± 96, and 1760 ± 144 U/mg protein, respectively; whereas, the SOD activities in atrial muscles, were: 1135.4 ± 156.4, 1145.4 ± 148.8, and 1243.5 ± 175.2 U/mg protein, respectively. However, the ventricular SOD activities were significantly inhibited under hypoxic conditions. These results indicate that menadione can produce regionally differential effects on cardiac APD, which may be due to differences in the SOD activity, depending on the region and age of the cardiac tissue.

        Effect of Rosiglitazone on Myocardial Ischemia-Reperfusion Injury in Rat Heart

        This study was undertaken to evaluate whether peroxisome proliferator-activated-receptor-gamma $(PPAR-{\gamma})$ agonist-rosiglitazone (ROSI) induces postischemic functional recovery in Langendorf heart model. Hearts isolated from normal rats were subjected to 20 min of normoxia or 25 min zero-flow ischemia followed by 50 min reperfusion. In this acute protocol, ROSI $(20\;{\mu}g/ml)$ administered 10 min before ischemia had no effect on hemodynamic cardiac function, but had protective effect on lipid peroxidation in in vitro experiments. In chronic protocol in which ROSI was given by daily gavage (4 mg/kg) for three consecutive days, ROSI could not prevent the hemodynamic alteration on cardiac performance, but has protective effect on the activity of superoxide dismutase (SOD). There was no significant difference in the contents of reduced glutathione (GSH) and catalase activity between ischemia-reperfusion (IR) and ROSI treated IR hearts. Although ROSI had no effect on hemodynamic factor, it had effect on antioxidant activity. Our results indicate that ROSI provides partial beneficial effects by inhibiting lipid peroxidation and/or recovering normal level of SOD activity in the ischemic reperfused heart.

        A Medium-Maturing, Dull Cultivar ‘Baegjinju 1’

        다양한 용도의 가공용 품종을 육성할 목적으로 1995년 하계에 아밀로스함량이 낮은 일품벼 변이체 Ilpum (MNU)-10- 2-GH1-3을 모본으로 하고 양질 내도복성인 서안벼를 부본으로 교배하여 SR21716-30-2-3-1을 선발하여 ‘수원491호’로 계통명을 부여한 후 2003년-2005년 3개년 간 지역적응시험을 실시한 결과 그 우수성이 인정되어 2005년 12월 직무육성 신품종 선정위원회에서 국가목록등재품종으로 선정됨과 동시에 ‘백진주1호’로 명명하였다. 출수기는 보통기 재배에서 평균 출수기가 8월 20일로 ‘화성벼’보다 10일 정도 늦은 중만생종이며, 벼키는 86 cm, 이삭길이는 22 cm로 ‘화성벼’와 비슷하고, 주당수수는 10개로 ‘화성벼’보다 3개 적으나, 이삭당 벼알수는 121개로 ‘화성벼’보다 25개 많다. 도열병에는 안정적이나, 흰잎마름병 및 바이러스병과 벼멸구 및 애멸구 저항성은 약하다. ‘백진주1호’는 성숙기 하엽노화가 늦은 반면 수발아율은 ‘화성벼’에 비해 낮았고, 춘천 냉수처리 검정에서 적고발현은 적었으나, 임실율이 ‘화성벼’보다 낮았으며, 도복에 강하다. ‘백진주1호’는 단원립으로 쌀 외관은 찹쌀과 같은 뽀얀 특성을 지니고 있으나, 아밀로스함량이 11.5%로 메벼와 찰벼의 중간특성이고, 도정율은 ‘화성벼’와 비슷한 특성을 나타냈다. 보통기재배 평균 쌀 수량은 중부평야 2개소 및 남부평야 4개소에서 4.92 MT/ha로 ‘화성벼’와 남평벼보다 8% 적었으며, 재배적지는 중부평야 및 남부평야이다. ‘Baegjinju 1’ is a new Japonica rice variety developed from a cross Ilpum (MNU)-10-2-GH1-3 and ‘Seoanbyeo’ by a rice breeding team of National Institute of Crop Science, RDA, during the period from 1995 to 2005. This variety has heading date of August 23 in central plain area of Korea. It has a good semi-elect plant type and resistance to lodging with strong culm. The number of panicles/hill of ‘Baegjinju 1’ is more than that of ‘Hwaseongbyeo’, and milled rice of that shows dull and medium short grain. It has very low amylose content (11.5%) and similar gelatinization temperature and good texture characteristics of cooked brown and milled rice compared with ‘Baegjinju’. It has moderate to leaf blast, but susceptible to bacterial blight, virus disease and insect pests. The yield performance of this variety is about 4.92MT/ha in milled rice in local adaptability test for three years (2003-2005). ‘Baegjinju 1’ is adaptable to central and southern plain areas of Korea
