노인성 치매의 일종인 alzheimer's disease의 효과적인 억제제를 합성하기 위해 우리는 분자 모델링에 의한 가장 적합한 물질인 m-[(N,N,N-trimethylammonio)phenyl]boronic acid를 합성하였다. 출발물질인 3-aminophenylboronic acid monohydrate의 경우 boronic acid의 작용기인 hydroxyl group을 protecting시킴으로써 반응의 안정성을 기하였다. Quarternary ammonium salt는 과량의 methyliodide와 염기 촉매인 potassium hydrogen carbonate를 사용하여 용매인 methanol에서 반응시켜 상당히 높은 수율을 얻을 수 있었다. 또한 과량의 methyliodide와 염기촉매인 potassium hydrogen carbonate를 사용하여 용매인 methanol에서 반응시킨 결과 boronic acid의 protection없이도 안정하게 반응이 진행되어짐을 확인할 수 있었다. In order to syntheisize a effective inhibotor for alzheimer's disease, we synthesized m-[(N,N,N-trimethylammonio)phenyl]boronic acid 4 which is designed by molecular modeling form. We protected the hydroxyl group of 3-aminophenylboronic acid monohydrate 1 with ethlyne glycol to remove the reactivity if hydroxyl group. To synthesize m-[(N,N,N-trimethylammonio)phenyl]boronic acid 4, we reacted 3-aminophenylboronic acid monohydrate 1 with ezcess methyl iodide and potassium hydrogen carbonate as a base-catalyst in methanol. but On executed reaction without protection on hydroxyl group, we found out the result that the hydroxyl group of boronic acid group at 3-aminophenylboronic acid monohydrate 1 didn't react with excess methyliodide. Synthesized m-[(N,N,N-trimethylammonio)phenyl]boronic acid 4 is in progress about biological tests as a plausible acetylcholinesterase inhibitor.

비만증 환자에서 한약제에 의한 체중 감소효과

Proceedings of International Symposium on East-West Medicine, Seoul. 244-254, 1999.-Obesity can be defined as a metabolic disease due to an increased state of fat tissues caused by an imbalance of calorie intake and use. Recently, in Korea by improvement and westernization of food intake, along with decrease in exercise activities, the prevalence of obesity has increased greatly. Our objectives were to study stability and effects of decrease in body fat by administering red ginseng compound preparation (known to have body fat decreasing effects in laboratory animals) to obesity patients on low calorie diets. Changes in weight and body fat were measured while carrying out calorie-restricted diets on patients for 4 weeks, then administering red ginseng compound preparation for another 4 weeks. The patients were 20 people whose BMI were 25kg/㎡ or over and whose percent body fat was also 30% or over when tested by bioelectrical conductivity. 1. Changes in weight were from 70.04kg(base line) to 67.43kg(after taking red ginseng compound preparation). 2. In similar sense, BMI decreased from 27.12kg/㎡(base line) to 26.56kg/㎡(after dieting), and further to 26.01kg/㎡ (after taking red ginseng compound preparation). The BMI seemed to decrease significantly compared to the baseline after the use of red ginseng compound. 3. Waist hip ratio was changed from 0.8858(base line) to 0.8728, but it was statistically insignificant. 4. The percent body fat was 35,16%(base line), 33.87%(after dieting), and 31.68%(after taking red ginseng compound preparation). 5. Complete blood cell count and blood chemisrty remained unaffected by the administration. 6. In concern to endocrinologic studies, T3 decreased from 118.7 to 98.2ng/dL, and T4 increased from 8.8 to 9.2㎕/ dL. Epinephrine showed a tendency to decreased from 0.27 to 0.25 ng/mL, and norepinephrine increased from 0.39 to 0.44ng/mL. 7. Leptin was not changed. 8. Some patients complained adverse effects; constipation(5 patients, may be due to diet therapy), fatigue (2 patients), pruritus(2 patients), flushing(s patients), dizziness(3 patients) and epigastric discomfort(2 patients). However their symptoms were mild, so medication did not stopped. In conclusion, loss of weight without significant side effects was observed during low calorie diet and red ginseng compound preparation administration. This is thought to be in relation to sympathetic nerve system rather than adrenal gland. Also, further long0term studies should be required, since the observed results were based on short-term changes in weight.

SS41 용접재의 피로크랙 진전거동에 관한 연구

SS41 is welded automatically and is investigated some effects of the welding residual stress in the growth and propagation of fatigue crack, so as to study the fatigue behaviour in the welding residual stress field. The summarized results are as follows; 1) In case of the load range is constant, as the stress ratio is changing to 0.1, 0.33 and 0.5 the propagation life is constant but the growth life decreases. And than, when maximum load or minimum load is constant, as the stress ratio increases the growth life and propagation life. 2) It was shown that the fatigue crack propagation ratio da/dN was almost constant regardless of the stress ratio change at constant load amplitude and that the larger stress ratio, the slower was the fatigue crack propagation ratio. 3) The opening ratio U is influenced by Kmax but it isn't only the function of Kmax because data range is very large. 4) The growing and propagation fatigue crack in the welding residual stress field is similar to original specimen after passing the original residual stress field.

SJO¨GREN'S SYNDROME 환자에게 즉시 임프란트 술식을 행한 치험례

The old edentulous patients experience xerostomia commonly. They have considerable difficulty in wearing tissue-supported prosthesis and high risk rate of caries. One of them is Sj□gren's syndrome patient. Sj□gren's syndrome is a chronic inflammatory autoimmune disorder that results in a lymphocyte-mediated destruction of exocrine glands. We planned to place implants immediately after extraction in this case of autoimmune disease. The advantages of immediate implant placement include considerable decrease in time from tooth extraction to placement of the final prosthesis, fewer surgical procedures, and better acceptance of the overall treatment plan. We present a case of Sj□gren's syndrome patient treated with immediate implant placement & immediate loading in anterior region and immediate implant placement in posterior region.

환경친화성 계면활성제를 이용한 어병균의 살균효과

The antibacterial effect amino acid-copper(Ⅱ) surfactant on fish pathogens was studied. Fish pathogens of Edwardsiella tarda, Vibrio anguillarum, Aeromonas hydrophila and Streptococcus sp. were selected, cultured in nutrient agar and adjusted at 2 × 10 exp (5)∼10 exp (6) CFU/㎖ in phosphate buffer saline before the addtion of amino acid-copper(Ⅱ) surfactant with different concentrations. All tested pathogens died within 1 hour with 1 ppm of amino acid-copper(Ⅱ) surfactant. In comparison with formalin and ET, amino acid-copper(Ⅱ) surfactnat was more effective in antibacterial capacity.

넙치의 백화현상 규명에 관한 연구 : Ⅰ. 멜라닌 색소 생성에 미치는 효소와 기질의 영향 Ⅰ. Effects of Enzyme Activities and Substrates on Melanin Formation

멜라닌 색소의 생합성 과정에 관여하는 것으로 알려져 있는 효소 및 관련 인자와의 상관성을 검토하기 위하여 자연산 정상넙치와 양식산 백화넙치의 肉質과 表皮, 미립자 사료와 생물먹이인 Artemia 및 Rotifer에 대하여 단백질의 함량, 멜라닌 색소생성에 고나여하는 효소의 활성, 아미노산 조성 및 비타민A와 C의 함량을 비교하였다. 정상넙치表皮는 肉質에 비하여 단백질의 함량이 높았으나, 백화넙치인 경우는 대체로 비슷한 값이었다. 사료중의 단백질 함량은 미립자 사료 중 C1이 가장 높았다. catechal oxidase의 활성은 기질과 조효소 농도의 증가와 더불러 증가하였으며, 백화 유무에 관계없이 거의유사한 값으로 나타났다. 그리고 L-dopa oxidase활성도 동일한 결과였다. 정상넙치의 유리아미노산 함량은 백화개체에 비하여 높았으며, 表皮의 경우는 정상넙치가 백화너치에 비하여 7.5배 가량 높은 값을 나타내었다. 필수아미노산의 조성으로 비교했을 때, 미립자 사료는 Artemia와 Rotifer보다 우수한 단백질원이었다. 그리고 정상넙치의 함활아미노산의 함유량은 백화넙치의 6.3배에 달하였다. 비타민A는 정상 및 백화넙치의 肉質과 表皮에서 검출되지 않았으나 비타민C는 정상인 접치表皮가 백화넙치 表皮에 비해 약 7.8배였으며, 미립자 사료는 100.83mg/100ㅎ으로서 사료 중 가장 높았다. 따라서 넙치表皮의 멜라닌색소의 생성에는 기질인 방향족 아미노산과 함황아미노산이 큰 영향을 미치는 것으로 판단되었다. The albinic phenomenon of flat-fish (Paralichthys olivaceus) was investigated by measuring protein content, tyrosinase activity, amino acid composition, and contents of vitamin A and C. These materials in the flat-fish feed-stuff were also tested. The amount of skin protein was higher than that of muscle in normal flat-fish. Catechol and L-dopa oxidase activity did not differ between normal and albinic flat-fish. The free amino acid of skin in normal flat-fish was 7.5 times that in albinic one. Sulfur-containing amino acid in normal flat-fish was also 6.3 times that in albinic ones. Vitamin A was not detected in both of flat-fish. The content of vitamin C in normal flat-fish was 7.8 times that in albinic one. The contents of protein, sulfur-containing amino acid and Vitamin C in micro-encapsulated feed (one commercial feed in Japan) were the highest among the feed-stuff used in this experiment. The melanin formation of flat-fish skin was affected by substrates such as aromatic amino acid and cofactor such as sulfur amino acid.

FCL(5-FU, Carboplatin, Leucovorin) 항암 화학요법에서 Gm-CSF의 효과

Background: One of the major side effects of cancer chemotherapy is myelosuppression. Neutropenia and/or thrombocytopenia are dose-limiting factors in chemotherapy. Colony-stimulating factor induces proliferation and functional maturation of hematopoietic progenitor cells. GM-CSF is primarily active on progenitor cells of granulocytic and monocytic lineage. Methods: Fifteen patients with histologically proven malignancy diagnosed at Chungnam National University Hospital from January 1993 to August 1995 were included in this study. We could evaluate the clinical efficacy of GM-CSF in 13 patients undergoing FCL(5-FU, Carboplatin and Leucovorin) chemotherapy; the first cycles involved no GM-CSF while the second cycles involved GM-CSF on day 6 through 15 of chemotherapy. Results: 1) The subjects were fifteen patients in all, there were five patients with head and neck cancer, which was the most common types of maligancy. There were four patients with colon cancer, two patients with stomach cancer, and one patient with breast cancer, gallbladder cancer, cervix cancer and cholangiocarcinoma respectively, two patients, who did not complete two cycles of chemotherapy were excluded. 2) Age distribution was from 38 years to 78 years with a median age of 57. 3) In FCL chemotherapy cycles with GM-CSF, the duration of neutropenia(<500/μL) was 0.5±0.3 day, while FCL chemotherapy cycles without GM-CSF, it was 2.9±0.7 day(P=0.008). 3) There was no significant difference in platelet count between the two chemotherapy cycles(P=0.133). 4) Febrile duration without GM-CSF was 4.9±2.1 day, but with GM-CSF the duration was 1.3±0.7 day, which was significantly different(P=0.003). The duration of antibiotics use with GM-CSF was 1.7±1.2 day and without GM-CSF was 6.8±3.2 day, also significantly different(P=0.002). But hospital stay between the two cycles were not significantly different(P=0.064). Conclusion: GM-CSF was effective in preventing or restoring bone marrow depression after FCL chemotherapy.

The purpose of this study is to present the considerable basis when a proffer advertising visual idea system is conceived and a visual element is selected. Thus, this study is seeking for the solution that the Bite system in conceiving idea based on language applies to the practical use of the cosmetic advertisement. This is the result for the step of the creative idea. The first step of the idea is to collect materials such as the state of product, consumer, market and economics. The second idea is to represent the concept of advertising, and to conceive a proffer idea using the Bite system 1 for the materials analyzed. The third idea, it is to apply the Bite system 2 for the optional creativity, UㆍSㆍP, positioning and brand image strategy, and the Bite system 3 for extracting from the materials analyzed. Next is to apply the Bite system 4 for the transformation of word or sentence and the development step of the messages extracted. The final idea is to verify idea selecting the right sentence for the creative strategy which is decided already, and to associate the visual element in the selected sentence. The meaning of this study is to present the verification step to verify the creative idea by a designer himself or herself in the process of the creative idea. Actually, many designers come into conflict with AE(Account Executive) frequently in the process of persuasion emphasizing on the visual part of design without a logical basis. To be sure, the result of this study is not the perfect solution to systematize the creative idea. However, I am convinced that it is able to be a foundation for the practical use of the material basis beside advertising strategy for the designers. Also I hope that this study can help designers to create idea effectively.

이진 배열 기법을 이용한 내포된 곡선 성분 검출에 관한 연구

The general Hough transform was not influenced to detect the external circle and ellipse for when the circle and ellipse was detected by the external noises, it was filtered in various way, and the rest image had inclused trouble in detecting, for it was regarded as the intinernal noises. So, this paper suggests the new algoritsm to detect another circle existing inside and to remove not from the general method but from the original image when the external circle detected is excluded.

홉스의 정치적 의무의 정당화

This article is to analyse the ground of political obligation in Thomas Hobbes. Political obligation is concerned with the relationship between people and the political community of itsmembers. The problem of the political obligation appeared in the era which was religiouscoflict and civil war in the 17th century In this circumstnace of the modem society, theimportant problem was in reconciling the needs of individuals with those of the political community. Political obligation concerns the moral bonds between individuals and politisal community.The justification of political obligation accounts of the morality of freedom and authority. So,political obligation is said to be defined by the moral obligation to obey the law. Hobbes divided the concept into the natural obligation and prudential one. But the conceptisn't incosistent in his thought. By analyzing its moral justification it can be evident. He asserted the natural 1aw and the Prudencial Principle based on the selfish psychology asthe ground of political obligation. The subjects is obliged to the soverign by the renounce ofthe natural right. According to Hobbes, the state of nature is that of the disorder and fear.They want to establish the common power in order to resolve the self. Such an authorization is based on the consent of the original contractor. The political obligation theoryof Hobbes by the arguments of the social contract was based on the consent logic. However, it is natural to say the moral obligation to obey the authority to secure the justice and well-being. So, I think he empathized on the utility of self-preservation.
