        Autogenous periosteal grafts are the attractive alternative to existing barrier membrane materials since they meet the reqiurements of an ideal material. But no histological data are available on the effectiveness of periosteal membranes in the treatment of periodontal defects. The purpose of this study was to evaluate effect of autogenous periosteal graft on periodontal regeneration histologically. Calss Ⅱ furcation defects were surgically created on the second, third and the fourth premolars bilaterally in the mandibles of six mongrel dogs. The experimental sites were divided into three groups according to the treatment modalities; control group - surgical debridement only : Group Ⅰ- autogenous periosteal membrane placement after surgical debridement; Group Ⅱ- autogenous periosteal membrane placement after surgical debridement and bone grafting. The animals were sacrificed at 2, 4 and 12 weeks after periodontal surgery and the decalcified and undecalcified specimens were prepared for histological and histometrical analysis. Clinically all treated groups healed without significant problems. Under light microscope, at 2 weeks, control group showed significant apical epithelial migration and bone remodelling only below the notch area. But for the groupⅠ, Ⅱ with autogenous periosteal graft, less apical migration of epithelium appeared and large amount of osteoid tissue was showen above the notch area. Grafted periosteal membrane was indiscernable at 4 weeks, so periosteal membrane might be organized to surrounding tissues. Histometrically, at 4 and 12 weeks, all the test and control groups didn't show significant change of epithelial zone but new attachment level tended to be gained in the test groups than control group. These results suggest that autogenous periosteal grafts could be a good alternative for guided tissue regeneration.

        In this paper, the frequency characteristics of the model enclosure was found out by the mode analysis and active noise control experiments were carried out in the model enclosure. The transfer functions of primary paths, which are between the primary noise sources and error microphones, and the transfer functions of the secondary paths, which are between the secondary sources and error microphones, are estimated by the recursive least squares methods using the experiment data. The estimated transfer functions are applied to multi-channel least mean squre algorithm. The efficiency of the proposed algorithm was showed by computer simulations and experiments.

        상악 정중부 과잉치의 양상과 발거 후 병발증 치유율에 관한 연구

        상악 정중부 과잉치는 흔합치열기 및 영구치열기 아동에서 많은 병발증을 야기한다. 본 연구에서는 지난 6년간 경북대학교 병원 소아치과에 내원한 상악 정중부 과잉치를 지닌 1171명의 아동을 대상으로 임상적,방사선학적 검사를 통해 상악 정중부 과잉치의 양상과 병발증을 조사하고 발거 후 병발증의 치유율에 관해 조사 평가하여 다음과 같은 결론을 얻게 되었다. 1. 상악 정중부 과잉치를 발견하게 된 동기로는 다른 원인으로 상악 중절치부를 우연히 방사선사진 촬영한 경우 23.4%. 상악 정중부 과잉치의 맹출 16.1%. 충치 치료를 위해 상악 중절치부를 방사선사진 촬영한 경우 15.1%로 나타났다. 2. 상악 정중부 과잉치로 인한 병발증이 나타나지 않은 경우는 36.8%. 인접 영구전치의 맹출 지연을 야기한 경우가 34.4%, 정중 이개가 16.1%였다. 3. 상악 정중부 과잉치의 외과적 발거 시 인접 영구중절치의 치령은 치근길이의 1/2이상에서 2/3이하가 54.7%였다. 4. 상악 정중부 과잉치의 발거 후 정중 이개와 인접 상악 영구전치의 맹출 지연 치유율은 외과적 발거 시 인접치의 치령이 치근 길의 1/2이하인 경우 맹출 지연에서 65.27%로 유의성있게 높았으며(P<O.05). 정중 이개에서는 인접 측절치와 중절치 간의 총생이 없는 경우에서 그 치유율이 68.23%로 유의성있게 높았다(P<O.05). Authors evaluated 1171 patients at the department of Pediatric Dentistry in Kyoungpook National University Hospital through clinical records and radiographs. And the following features were studied ; age, sex distribution, number of mesiodens per patients, cause of discovery of mesiodens, location, status of eruption, shape and orientation of crown, complication, dental age of adjacent upper incisor tooth at the time of surgical extraction of mesiodens and the relationship between the resolution rate of complication after extraction of mesiodens and the dental age of adjacent upper incisor tooth, length of diastema, the eruption status of lateral incisor and the crowding status of premaxilla. The followings are the results : 1. The cause of discovery of mesiodens were as follows ; delayed eruption of the permanent incisors in 13.8%, midline diastema in 11.6%, radiographs taken for other reasons in 23.4% and for caries treatment in 15.1%. 2. Complication due to the presence of mesiodens did not occur in 36.8%, delayed eruption of adjacent teeth was observed in 16.1%, midline diastema in 34.4%, rotation in 8.8%, displacement in 2.4%, and crowding in 1.0% of all evaluated patients. 3. As for the dental age of adjacent upper incisor tooth at the time of surgical extraction of mesiodens, below 1/3 of total root length were observed in 3.5%, 1/3∼ 1/2 of total root length in 19.9%, 1/2 ∼ 2/3 of total root length in 54.7% and over 2/3 in 21.9% of all evaluated patients. 4. Resolution rate of delayed eruption after the extraction of mesiodens was significant higher in the group with the root length below 1/2. Resolution rate of midline diastema was significant higher in the group with diastema width below 3mm and with non-crowding of adjacent upper incisor teeth.

        FGF-mediated FGFR signaling 이 두개봉합부의 초기형태발생 및 유지기전에 미치는 영향

        두개봉합부의 조기융합으로 알려진 Craniosynostosis는 두개봉합부 주위 조직들 사이의 조화로운 상호 작용이 파괴되었을 때 야기될 수 있다. 흥미롭게도 FGF receptor들, 특히 FGFR2의 point mutation은 여러 가지 형태의 craniosynostosis 증후군과 연관되어 있어, FGFR가 두개봉합부를 포함한 두개골 성장 발달과정에 중요한 유전자임을 시사하고 있다. Mouse 두개봉합부의 초기형태발생시 FGFR 유전자들의 기능을 알아보기위해, in situ hybridization 방법을 이용하여 FGFR2(BEK) 및 골아세포분화의 초기표지자인 osteopontin이, 태생기(E15-18)에서 출생후(P1-P3)까지, 두개골의 시상봉합부에서의 발현양상을 조사하였다. FGFR2(BEK)은 osteogenic front에 강하게 발현되었으며, osteopontin은 parietal bone의 exo-, endocranial부위에서 발현되었으나, parietal bone의 성장가장자리인 osteogenic front에서는 관찰되지 않았다. 두개봉합부에서의 FGF-mediated FGFR signaling의 역할을 좀더 심도깊게 조사 하기위해 E15.5 mouse의 두개골을 이용하여 in vitro 실험을 시행하였다. 흥미롭게도 osteogenic fronts 및 시상봉합부의 간엽조직 중앙에 FGF2 - soaked beads를 점적하여 36시간 기관배양한 결과, bead주위 조직들의 두께 및 세포수가 증가되었으며, osteogenic fronts 상에 FGF4 beads를 올려놓은 경우, 시상두개봉합부 중앙에 점적된 FGF4 beads나 BSA control beads에 비해, 골성장이 촉진되어 시상두개봉합부의 부분적인 소멸을 관찰할 수 있었다. 이와 더불어 FGFR2 beads는 osteopotin 및 Msxl 유전자의 발현을 유도하였다. 이 결과들을 종합해 볼 때, FGF - mediated FGFR signaling이 발육중인 두개골과 두개봉합부에서 세포의 증식과 분화의 균형을 조절하는데 중요한 담당하고 있음을 시사해주고 있으며, 이 과정중 FGF signaling이 osteopontin 및 Msxl 유전자의 발현을 조절하므로써 막내골 성장 및 두개봉합부의 유지기전에 기여할 것으로 사료된다. Craniosynostosis, the premature fusion of cranial sutures, presumably involves disturbance of the interactions between different tissues within the cranial sutures. Interestingly, point mutaions in the genes encoding for the fibroblast growth factor receptors(FGFRs), especially FGFR2, cause various types of human craniosynostosis syndromes. To elucidate the function of these genes in the early morphogenesis of mouse cranial sutures, we first analyzed by in situ hybridization the expression of FGFR2(BEX) and osteopontin, an early marker of osteogenic differentiation, in the sagittal suture of calvaria during embryonic (E15-E18) and postnatal stage (P1 - P3). FGFR2(BEK) was intensely expressed in the osteogenic fronts, whose cells undergo differentiation into osteoprogenitor cells that ultimately lay down the bone matrix. Osteopontin was expressed throughout the parietal bones excluding the osteogenic fronts, the periphery of the parietal bones. To further examine the role of FGF-mediated FGFR signaling in cranial suture, we did in vitro experiments in E15.5 mouse calvarial explants. Interestingly, implantation of FGF2 soaked beads onto both the osteogenic fronts and mid-mesenchyme of sagittal suture after 36 hours organ culture resulted in the increase of the tissue thickness and cell number around FGF2 beads, moreover FGF4-soaked beads implanted onto the osteogenic fronts stimulated suture closure due to an accelerated bone growth, compared to FGF4 beads placed onto mid-mesenchyme of sagittal suture and BSA control beads. In addition FGF2 induced the ectopic expression of osteopontin and Msxl genes. Taken together, these data indicate that FGF-mediated FGFR signaling has a important role in regulating the cranial bone growth and maintenance of cranial suture, and suggest that FGF-mediated FGFR signaling is involved in regulating the balance between the cell proliferation and differentiation through inducing the expression of osteopontin and Msxl genes.

        We have encountered a rare case of symmetrical peripheral gangrene complicating Escherichia coli sepsis in a 47-years-old male. He was successfully treated with antibiotics, anticoagulants, and vasodilator. To our knowledge, this is the first report on symmetrical peripheral gangrene complicating E. coli sepsis in Korea.

      • 化學反應蒸着에 의한 CdS 多結晶 薄膜制作 및 그 特性硏究 (Ⅰ)

        CdS thin film was fabricated by chemical bath deposition method and polycrystallined by the proper heat treatment. The physical properties of the amorphous and polycrystal of CdS thin film were observed and calculated by measuring the X-ray diffraction patterns, optical absorption, transmission and photoconductivity. From the present experiments, we obtained the energy band gap of the CdS polycrystal thin film to be 2.42eV and the In donor impurity level to be 0.025 eV below the conduction band : Another result was to be a_o=4.13Å and c_o=6.75Å for lattice constants of the hexagonal structure. Also, we attempted it to find the possibility of the application to photosensor. To apply cds this film to the photosensor more sufficiently, further experiments are required to accumulate data on such problems.

      • 모래층 지반 안벽구조물의 탄성침하거동 연구

        This paper is research results of investigating the elastic settlement behavior of the coastal caisson structure built on the sandy deposit by comparing results of centrifuge model experiments and those of existing methods of estimating elastic settlement. Basic soil property tests such as specific gravity test, grain size distribution test and organic content test with disturbed soil sampled from the site were carried out. The centrifuge experiment of model satisfying the required design criteria was performed under 50 of artificial accelerated gravitational force condition. The Centrifuge model experimental results were compared and analyzed with the current methods of estimating settlement based on the elastic modulus obtained from the results of odeometer tests and empirical methods from literature reviews.

      • 준설토의 침강특성에 관한 실험적 연구

        Column tests in the laboratory were preformed to investigate characteristics of settling process of dredged soil sampled from in-situ. Test results were analyzed by using the existing theories on discrete settling and hindered settling. From column tests of monitoring the interface with time, settling was found to be a linear process with time and the settling rate was increased with initial water content of slurry. The settling rate was also observed to decrease with increasing initial height of slurry. Most of settling process were composed of flocculation, hindered settling and self-weight consolidation. On the Other hands, flocculation of soil during settling was observed and it was found that the size and density of flocculated particles could be analyzed by using the method proposed by Richardson and Zaki.

        본 연구에서는 현재 안양시 일반폐기물의 발생·수집·처리현황등의 실태분석을 통해 폐기물의 처리·처분 및 관리체계 전반에 걸쳐서 폐기물에 의해 기인되는 환경오염에 대한 대책 및 사회적 문제에 대체할 수 있는 체제의 재정비 방안을 모색하였다. 일반폐기물 관리의 개선방안에 대해서는 Software적인 측면과 Hardware적인 측면으로 나누어, 안양시의 지리적 및 도시특성상 적용 가능한 폐기물의 자원화와 리사이클, 폐기물처리 신기술에 대해 논하였다. By the influence of the recently accelerating population concentration and economic growth, municipal solid waste management in Anyang city is becoming a serious social and administrative concerns. In this study, the current status on the generation and collection, treatment/disposal of municipal solid waste in Anyang city were analyzed, and then some countermeasures for its effective management were suggested on the basis of reducing and recycling of the waste. In addition, new technologies on the disposal of municipal solid waste applicable to every metropolitan city as well as Anyang city were introduced.
