While Korean educators have noted anecdotally the value of creative dance, there is a lack of documentation of the effects of creative dance on self-expression in Korean schools. This study explored the efficacy of an eight-week creative dance program to promote self-expression of Korean High School students (N=55). Data collected during and after each creative dance session included a) students` reflective drawings and logs, b) video recordings of program sessions, and c) investigators` field notes. Three art therapists analyzed the participants` drawings using a standard art therapy assessment tool. Investigators analyzed student logs using constant comparative analysis. Comparative analysis was used to examine one type of data(student logs) and compare it with another data source(drawings). Three themes emerged: a) enhancing positive perceptions, b) expanding self-expression, and c) cultivating communication. These results suggested that creative dance can act as a powerful stimulant for students` self-expression via body language.

Dry eye syndrome (DES) is one of the most common ocular diseases affecting nearly 10% of the US population. Most of the currently available treatments are palliative, and few therapeutic agents target biological pathway of DES. Although DES is a multifactorial disease, it is well-known that inflammation in the ocular surface plays an important role in the pathogenesis of DES. Mesenchymal stem/stromal cells (MSCs) have been shown to repair tissues by modulating excessive immune responses in various diseases. Therefore, we here investigated the therapeutic potential of MSCs in a murine model of an inflammation-mediated dry eye that was induced by an intraorbital injection of concanavalin A. We found that a periorbital administration of MSCs reduced the infiltration of CD4(+) T cells and the levels of inflammatory cytokines in the intraorbital gland and ocular surface. Also, MSCs significantly increased aqueous tear production and the number of conjunctival goblet cells. Subsequently, corneal epithelial integrity was well-preserved by MSCs. Together, the results demonstrate that MSCs protect the ocular surface by suppressing inflammation in DES, and suggest that MSCs may offer a therapy for a number of ocular surface diseases where inflammation plays a key role.

Objective : The purpose of this report is to know the effect of oriental medical treatments on acute allergic contact dermatitis with multiple nummular eczema. Methods : We treated a 34-years-old woman patient with acute allergic contact dermatitis on face and multiple nummular eczema on both arm, right ankle and left inguinal region by Korean medicine. After Korean medical treatment for 42 days in hospital, we measured the decrease of exudation and pruritis as well as recovery of skin damages. We recorded pictures of changes on symptoms. Results & Conclusion : The symptoms of ACD and nummular eczema were significantly improved except scars. Exudation and pruritis were disappeared and skin damages were almost recovered until discharge from hospital. After 20 days we could confirm the symptoms were clearly disappeared. Thus Korean medical treatments are effective on ACD and nummular eczema.

Synchronous primary neoplasms are as neoplasms diagnosed simultaneously or within a 6 month interval. The synchronous occurrence of carcinoma confined to the ovary and endocervix has been regarded as a very rare entity and presents a diagnostic and therapeutic dilemma. Recently we experienced 38 year old female patient who had mucinous cystadenocarcinoma of bilateral ovaries and adenocarcinoma in the uterine cervix simultaneously. So, we present the case with a review of the literatures.
