The mesenteric infarction, as a abdominal disease which show acute abdominal pain and almost need to emergency operation, has very high mortality. This mesenteric infarction has been reported very rarely. Also specific clinical manifestations are not clear, therefore initial diagnosis can be missed easily so that patients usually miss their opportunities for adequate treatment. Especially CAPD patients have high mortality because of their rareness and having similar symptoms like CAPD peritonitis. The authors report that the mesenteric infarction was miss-diagnosed to the CAF'D peritonitis with unspecific symptoms.

The term impaction is defined as a tooth has failed to erupt into normal position beyond the time usually expected for such appearance. Most of the cases of unerupted and impacted teeth reported in the literature are of permanent teeth. Impactions of mandibular primary second molars, however, are as numerous as all other primary impactions combined. Early detection of impaction is necessary during periodic oral examination and also radiographic examination and proper management is needed, because impaction of primary tooth may lead to obstruction of successive permanent tooth, space loss, and cystic change of tooth follicle. In these cases, 5 cases of primary teeth impaction are presented. Impaction teeth of each cases are maxillary primary incisor, maxillary and mandibular second primary molar, mandibular first primary molar. Following results were achieved by these cases; 1. In this cases, the cause of primary tooth impaction are abnormal eruption path, odontoma and fibrotic gingiva. 2. In this cases, impaction of primary tooth results in eruption problem of successive permanent tooth and failure of space maintenance. 3. Proper treatment plan should be established after through consideration of impacted tooth and it's relation with successive permanent tooth, and periodic examination and proper treatment about successive permanent tooth and eruptive condition is needed.

The purpose of this research was to investigate effects of Sa-Kunja-Tang(SKT) on immune cells of antitumor drugs administered mice. The apoptosis and T lymphocytes subpopulation were tested using a flow cytometry, and the proliferation was tested using a MTT assay. The administration of etoposide. vincristine or doxorubicin increased the apoptosis of T-lymphocytes, but the action of doxorubicin was decreased by the administration of SKT. The administration of etoposide or vincristine decreased helper T and cytotoxic T cells population of T lymphocytes, but the action of vincristine was recovered by the administration of SCT. The administration of etoposide, vincristine or doxorubicin decreased the proliferation of T-lymphocytes, but the action of doxorubicin was increased by the administration of SKT. These results suggest that SKT has a regulative function of T-lymphocytes in anti-tumor drugs administered mice.
Revisiting the Bradley-Terry model and its application to information retrieval

The Bradley-Terry model is widely used for analysis of pairwise preference data. We explain that the popularity of Bradley-Terry model is gained due to not only easy computation but also some nice asymptotic properties when the model is misspecified. For information retrieval required to analyze big ranking data, we propose to use a pseudo likelihood based on the Bradley-Terry model even when the true model is different from the Bradley-Terry model. We justify using the Bradley-Terry model by proving that the estimated ranking based on the proposed pseudo likelihood is consistent when the true model belongs to the class of Thurstone models, which is much bigger than the Bradley-Terry model.

<P>We report Pt-based alloys with early transition metals. <P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P><B>Introduction</B></P> <P>Allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplant with reduced-intensity conditioning is an effective therapeutic option for patients with refractory or relapsed aggressive non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL).</P> <P><B>Patients and Methods</B></P> <P>We retrospectively evaluated survival outcomes and the efficacy of our fludarabine/melphalan/total body irradiation (TBI) (FMT) regimen. A total of 89 patients had received the FMT regimen from 2007 to 2017.</P> <P><B>Results</B></P> <P>The majority of patients (n = 81; 91%) belonged to the histologic subtype of aggressive NHL. The estimated 3-year overall survival and disease-free survival for the entire cohort during a median follow-up of 31 months were 47.1% (95% confidence interval, 36%-57%) and 45.4% (95% confidence interval, 35%-56%), respectively. The cumulative incidence rates of relapse and non-relapse mortality at 3 years were 33.1% and 13.8%, respectively. In analyses of risk factors affecting survival outcomes, chemosensitive disease status at transplant (hazard ratio [HR], 2.45; <I>P</I> = .010), delayed relapse after first-line chemotherapy (HR, 2.101; <I>P</I> = .009), no grade III to IV acute graft-versus-host disease (HR, 11.212; <I>P</I> < .001), and mild chronic graft-versus-host disease (HR, 0.448; <I>P</I> = .016) were independent significant predictors of favorable overall survival. Also, similar parameters were related to favorable disease-free survival. All non-hematologic toxicities occurred within 50 days after allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplant, and most of the adverse events were tolerable and manageable with a < 30% incidence.</P> <P><B>Conclusion</B></P> <P>Our FMT regimen shows favorable transplant outcomes with relatively low-risk toxicities, so it may be a promising strategy for patients with relapsed or refractory aggressive NHL.</P>

Experimental study was carried out in an atmospheric pressure, laboratory-scale dump combustor showing features of combustion instabilities Flame structure and heat release rates were obtained from OH emission spectroscopy. Qualitative comparisons were made between line-integrated OH chemiluminescence image and Abel-transformed one. Local Rayleigh index distributions were also examined. Mean temperature, normalized standard deviation and temperature fluctuations were measured by coherent anti-Stokes Raman spectroscopy (CARS).<br/> To see the periodic behavior of oscillating flames, phase-resolved measurements were performed with respect to the pressure wave in the combustor. Results on system damping and driving characteristics were provided as a function of equivalence ratio. It also could be observed that phase resolved temperatures have been changed in a well-defined manner, while its difference between maximum and minimum reached up to 280K. These results would be expected to play an important role in better understanding of driving mechanisms and thermo-acoustic interactions.
The Expressional Pattern of Epididymal Protease Inhibitor (EPPIN) in the Male Syrian Hamsters
Jong In Park,Byung Hyun Jeon,Tae Hong Kim,Hyung June Kim,Donchan Choi 한국발생생물학회 2018 발생과 생식 Vol.22 No.3
The spermatogenesis is the process by which spermatozoa are generated in the testes. The spermatozoa travel male reproductive tract during which they meet many substances secreted from reproductive organs. One of the substances is epididymal protease inhibitor (EPPIN) that is involved in the post-testicular maturation including capability of fertilizing the eggs. The expression of EPPIN gene was investigated in various tissues of sexually mature and regressed male Syrian hamsters by reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR). The EPPIN gene was identified in the testis and epididymis of the male Syrian hamsters and compared to the genes reported previously. There was no expression of EPPIN gene in reproductively and completely regressed testes of Syrian hamster. These results suggest that the expressions of the EPPIN gene are associated with the reproductive capability in the Syrian hamsters.
