Soft-switching and low conduction loss current-fed isolated bidirectional DC-DC converter with PWM plus dual phase-shift control

Zhang, Zhao,Xie, Shaojun,Wu, Zhiying,Xu, Jinming The Korean Institute of Power Electronics 2020 JOURNAL OF POWER ELECTRONICS Vol.20 No.3

In battery energy storage systems, the battery and DC bus voltages vary greatly. This makes it difficult for the battery storage converter to maintain high efficiencies under all circumstances. A current-fed isolated bidirectional DC-DC converter is presented in this paper. This converter contains two series transformers, two conventional current-fed half-bridges at the battery side and two half-bridges at the DC bus side. PWM plus dual phase shift modulation with equal duty cycles and voltage-matched control is applied to ensure ZVS of all the switches and low conduction losses. The average and backflow power transmission equations and soft-switching conditions for all of the operation modes in the full operation range are analyzed comprehensively in this paper. Then six recommended modes are addressed based on the above analyses. Moreover, the control scheme and hardware design guidelines are addressed. Finally, the above theoretical analyses and control strategy are verified by experimental results.

Modeling and controller optimization for current-fed isolated bidirectional DC-DC converters

Zhang, Zhao,Xie, Shaojun,Shang, Xiaofeng,Qian, Qiang,Xu, Jinming The Korean Institute of Power Electronics 2020 JOURNAL OF POWER ELECTRONICS Vol.20 No.6

Current-fed isolated bidirectional DC-DC converters (CF-IBDCs) play an important role in battery energy storage systems. However, the closed-loop dynamics is rather slow with conventional proportional-integral controllers because a precise mathematic model remains absent for optimization. In this paper, a simple precise mathematical model is presented to describe the large and small-signal behaviors of the CF-IBDC. The full-order continuous model can accurately capture the dynamic behaviors and cover all operation conditions. The small-signal model is derived, and the DC filter inductors and clamp capacitors are found to be the natural causes of instability. Based on this finding, special controllers are proposed to optimize the dynamic response of the full closed-loop control system. The dynamic response time of the CF-IBDC is greatly reduced with the proposed controller. The correctness of the presented model and the dynamic response of the optimized closed-loop control system are verified by simulations.

Dissymmetric beauty: A novel design of heterogemini viscoelastic surfactant for the clean fracturing fluid

        Jincheng Mao,Heng Zhang,Wenlong Zhang,Jinming Fan,Chong Zhang,Jinzhou Zhao 한국공업화학회 2018 Journal of Industrial and Engineering Chemistry Vol.60 No.-

Herein, a new heterogemini surfactant (YS-18), which has a novel structure with two different hydrophobic chains, was designed and easily synthesized with excellent yields. When YS-18 was employed as a thickening agent for the clean fracturing fluid, the results of laboratory evaluation obviously showed that it has much better tolerance of salt and thermostability than the corresponding symmetrical surfactants (YS-YS and 18-18). This not only could prove the dissymmetric beauty, but also provides an alternative way to prepare high-functional materials. The fluid system with a formula of 5 wt% of YS-18 and 0.6 wt% of KCl could maintain high fluid viscosity (more than 100 mPa s) for 60 min under a share rate of 170 s−1 at 110 °C. Meanwhile, the fluid could also provide good support to achieve proppant suspension. The SEM study and rheology test revealed that the fluid system has good network structure, and exhibits good elastic fluid properties. Furthermore, the YS-18/KCl fluid system could be easily and thoroughly broken by reservoir brines and hydrocarbon.

Comparison of cecal microbiota composition in hybrid pigs from two separate three-way crosses

        Yang, Yuting,Shen, Liyan,Gao, Huan,Ran, Jinming,Li, Xian,Jiang, Hengxin,Li, Xueyan,Cao, Zhenhui,Huang, Ying,Zhao, Sumei,Song, Chunlian,Pan, Hongbin Asian Australasian Association of Animal Productio 2021 Animal Bioscience Vol.34 No.7

Objective: The intestinal microbiota plays an important role in host physiology, metabolism, immunity, and behavior. And host genetics could influence the gut microbiota of hybrid animals. The three-way cross model is commonly utilized in commercial pig production; however, the use of this model to analyse the gut microbial composition is rarely reported. Methods: Two three-way hybrid pigs were selected, with Saba pigs as the starting maternal pig: Duroc× (Berkshire×Saba) (DBS) pig, Berkshire×(Duroc×Saba) (BDS) pig. One hundred pigs of each model were reared from 35 days (d) to 210 d. The body weight or feed consumption of all pigs were recorded and their feed/gain (F/G) ratio was calculated. On day 210, 10 pigs from each three-way cross were selected for slaughter, and cecal chyme samples were collected for 16S rRNA gene sequencing. Results: The final body weight (FBW) and average daily gain (ADG) of DBS pigs were significantly higher than those of BDS pigs (p<0.05), while the F/G ratios of DBS pigs were significantly lower than those of BDS pigs (p<0.05). The dominant phyla in DBS and BDS pigs were Bacteroidetes (55.23% vs 59%, respectively) and Firmicutes (36.65% vs 34.86%, respectively) (p>0.05). At the genus level, the abundance of Prevotella, Roseburia, and Anaerovibrio in DBS pigs was significantly lower than in BDS pigs (p<0.01). The abundance of Eubacterium, Clostridium XI, Bacteroides, Methanomassiliicoccus, and Parabacteroides in DBS pigs was significantly higher than in BDS pigs (p<0.05). The FBWs and ADGs were positively correlated with Bacteroides, ClostridiumXI, and Parabacteroides but negatively correlated with the Prevotella, Prevotella/Bacteroides (P/B) ratio, Roseburia, and Anaerovibrio. Conclusion: These results indicated that host genetics affect the cecal microbiota composition and the porcine gut microbiota is associated with growth performance, thereby suggesting that gut microbiota composition may be a useful biomarker in porcine genetics and breeding.

Genome-wide association analysis for yield-related traits at the R6 stage in a Chinese soybean mini core collection

        Li Xiangnan,Zhou Yang,Bu Yuanpeng,Wang Xinfang,Zhang Yumei,Guo Na,Zhao Jinming,Xing Han 한국유전학회 2021 Genes & Genomics Vol.43 No.8

Background Soybean (Glycine max (L.) Merr.) is an economically important crop for vegetable oil and protein production, and yield is a critical trait for grain/vegetable uses of soybean. However, our knowledge of the genes controlling the vegetable soybean yield remains limited. Objective To better understand the genetic basis of the vegetable soybean yield. Methods The 100-pod fresh weight (PFW), 100-seed fresh weight (SFW), kernel percent (KP) and moisture content of fresh seeds (MCFS) at the R6 stage are four yield-related traits for vegetable soybean. We investigated a soybean mini core collection composed of 224 germplasm accessions for four yield-related traits in two consecutive years. Based on 1514 single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs), genome-wide association studies (GWAS) were conducted using a mixed linear model (MLM). Results Extensive phenotypic variation existed in the soybean mini core collection and signifcant positive correlations were shown among most of traits. A total of 16 SNP markers for PFW, SFW, KP and MCFS were detected in all environments via GWAS. Nine SNP markers were repeatedly identifed in two environments. Among these markers, eight were located in or near regions where yield-related QTLs have been reported in previous studies, and one was a novel genetic locus identifed in this study. In addition, we conducted candidate gene analysis to the large-efect SNP markers, a total of twelve genes were proposed as potential candidate genes of soybean yield at the R6 stage. Conclusion These results will be benefcial for understanding the genetic basis of soybean yield at the R6 stage and facilitating the pyramiding of favourable alleles for future high-yield breeding by marker-assisted selection in vegetable soybean.

LINC00657 knockdown suppresses hepatocellular carcinoma progression by sponging miR-424 to regulate PD-L1 expression

        Xinling Cao,Guanping Zhang,Tao Li,Chengming Zhou,Lei Bai,Jinming Zhao,Turgunjan Tursun 한국유전학회 2020 Genes & Genomics Vol.42 No.11

Background Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is the sixth most commonly diagnosed malignant tumor and the fourth leadingcause of cancer-related deaths worldwide. As a novel non-coding RNA, LINC00657 was firstly identified as an oncogenicrole in breast cancer. However, few research focus on the effect of LINC00657 on the progression of HCC. Objectives The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of LINC00657 on HCC tissues and cells, and furtherexplore the potential mechanism. Methods We first measured the expression of LINC00657 in HCC tissues and cell lines using qRT-PCR. Next we establishedLINC00657 knockdown in HCC cells. CCK-8 assay, cell invasion assay, flow cytometry analysis, qRT-PCR and westernblotting were applied to assess the role of LINC00657 knockdown in the biological behavior of HCC cells. The bioinformaticsanalysis and the rescue experiment were devoted to the underlying mechanism. Results LINC00657 was remarkably overexpressed in HCC tissues and cell lines, associated with poor prognosis. LINC00657knockdown repressed cell proliferation and invasion, promoted cell apoptosis of HCC cell lines. The bioinformatics analysisshowed LINC00657 sponged miR-424 as a ceRNA. Besides, PD-L1 mimic rescued the suppression of si-LINC00657 inthe biological behavior of HCC cells. Conclusion In a word, we observed LINC00657 regulated PD-L1 expression by sponging miR-424, thus affecting the developmentsof hepatocellular carcinoma. These findings LINC00657 may provide new evidence for therapeutic application inhepatocellular carcinoma.

Phase II Trial of Epigallocatechin-3-Gallate in Acute Radiation-Induced Esophagitis for Esophagus Cancer

        Xiaoling Li,Ligang Xing,Yujun Zhang,Peng Xie,Wanqi Zhu,Xiangjiao Meng,Yinxia Wang,Lingling Kong,Hanxi Zhao,Jinming Yu 한국식품영양과학회 2020 Journal of medicinal food Vol.23 No.1

Acute radiation-induced esophagitis (ARIE) is among the most serious form of toxicities associated with definitive radiotherapy or chemoradiotherapy used for treatment of patients with esophageal cancer. Our preliminary phase I and II trials of lung cancer patients who received radiotherapy indicated epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCG) as a promising therapeutic option against ARIE. Therefore, we conducted a prospective phase II study to validate the efficacy and safety of EGCG in the treatment of ARIE. The patients who received chemoradiotherapy or definitive radiotherapy for treatment of esophageal cancer in the Shandong Cancer Hospital and Institute in China were enrolled for the present study. EGCG (440 μM) was administered with first onset of ARIE and then at weeks after final radiotherapy. The patients were monitored every week for dysphagia, Radiation Therapy Oncology Group (RTOG) score, and esophagitis-related pain. Moreover, tumor response and the effect on survival following the treatment were also evaluated. Comparison of the RTOG score in the first, second, third, fourth, fifth, and even sixth week after EGCG prescription and the first and second week after radiotherapy with baseline indicates a significant reduction. The tumor response rate was 86.3%. The overall survival rate in 1, 2, and 3 years was found to be 74.5%, 58%, and 40.5%. Oral administration of EGCG solution seems to be feasible for treating ARIE in patients with esophageal cancer who receive radiation therapy. EGCG might be an ARIE-reliever without compromising the efficacy of radiation therapy. A randomized study with a control group is needed for further evaluation.
