Flow and heat transfer characteristics in a channel having furrowed wall based on sinusoidal wave

Jiansheng Wang,Xiaoming Gao,Weiyi Li 한국화학공학회 2015 Korean Journal of Chemical Engineering Vol.32 No.11

The effect of wall geometry on the flow and heat transfer in a channel with one lower furrowed and an upper flat wall kept at a uniform temperature is investigated by large eddy simulation. Three channels, one with sinusoidal wavy surface having the ratio (amplitude to wavelength) α/λ=0.05 and the other two with furrowed surface derived from the sinusoidal curve, are considered. The numerical results show that the streamwise vortices center is located near the lower wall and vary along the streamwise on various furrow surfaces. The furrow geometry increases the pressure drag and decreases the friction drag of the furrowed surface compared with that of the smooth surface; consequently, the total drag is increased for the augment of pressure drag. As expected, the heat transfer performance has been improved. Finally, a thermal performance factor is defined to evaluate the performance of the furrowed wall.

Transcriptome Analysis Reveals the Putative Polyketide Synthase Gene Involved in Hispidin Biosynthesis in Sanghuangporus sanghuang

        Jiansheng Wei,Liangyan Liu,Xiaolong Yuan,Dong Wang,Xinyue Wang,Wei Bi,Yan Yang,Yi Wang 한국균학회 2023 Mycobiology Vol.51 No.5

Hispidin is an important styrylpyrone produced by Sanghuangporus sanghuang. To analyzehispidin biosynthesis in S. sanghuang, the transcriptomes of hispidin-producing and non-producingS. sanghuang were determined by Illumina sequencing. Five PKSs were identifiedusing genome annotation. Comparative analysis with the reference transcriptome showedthat two PKSs (ShPKS3 and ShPKS4) had low expression levels in four types of media. Thegene expression pattern of only ShPKS1 was consistent with the yield variation of hispidin. The combined analyses of gene expression with qPCR and hispidin detection by liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry coupled with ion-trap and time-of-flight technologies(LCMS-IT-TOF) showed that ShPKS1 was involved in hispidin biosynthesis in S. sanghuang. ShPKS1 is a partially reducing PKS gene with extra AMP and ACP domains before the KSdomain. The domain architecture of ShPKS1 was AMP-ACP-KS-AT-DH-KR-ACP-ACP. Phylogenetic analysis shows that ShPKS1 and other PKS genes from Hymenochaetaceaeform a unique monophyletic clade closely related to the clade containing Agaricales hispidinsynthase. Taken together, our data indicate that ShPKS1 is a novel PKS of S. sanghuanginvolved in hispidin biosynthesis.

      • Assembling Paper Fragments using Sparse Presentation and Simulated Annealing Algorithm : A Novel Approach

Ting Wang,Jiansheng Wang 보안공학연구지원센터 2016 International Journal of Hybrid Information Techno Vol.9 No.3

In this paper, we conduct a novel research on assembling paper fragments with kernel sparse representation and regular edge geometry analysis using the traditional example of rectangular pieces. At the initial stage, we adopt the methodology of image sparse presentation technique to overcome the influence of noise. During the process of assembling, we make good use of MATLAB and C++ to extract the core visual information from the fragments’ digitally to capture the matrix in the grey value scale. Edge characteristics are derived and regarded as the basic unit to find out fragments which belong in the first column. According to the similarity characteristic, adjacent rows are found and matched accordingly, annealing algorithm is used to gather the fragments. From the perspective of practical use, we find out the robustness and effectiveness of our proposed approach. Compare with some state-of-the-art algorithms, our methodology shows the better accuracy, it’s of great importance to the community of fragment assembly.

Experimental studies on gasification of the Shenmu coal char with CO2 at elevated pressures

        Wang Mingmin,Zhang Jiansheng,Zhang Shouyu,Wu Jinhu,Yue Guangxi 한국화학공학회 2008 Korean Journal of Chemical Engineering Vol.25 No.6

The gasification rates of Shenmu coal chars with CO2 were experimentally studied with a pressurized thermo- gravimetric analyzer (PTGA). Shenmu coal is a typical Chinese coal, and the coal char was prepared by a fixedbed reactor in nitrogen at 900 oC. The experiments were carried out in the dynamic heating segments from 750 oC to 1,000 oC, and the reaction pressure increased from 0.1MPa to 3.1MPa with pure CO2. The external diffusion resistances were minimized by increasing the flow rates and decreasing the thickness of sample layer before the test, to ensure the reactions were under kinetic control. The results show that the gasification rates increase proportionally to the 0.1 power of the CO2 partial pressure. The unreacted-core shrinking model was applied to predict the reaction rate by changing the molar fraction of CO2 at 0.6Mpa and 1.6Mpa total pressures, which showed a good match with experimental data.

Effects of non-uniform inflow on the spatial and temporal distribution of impeller excitation in axial flow pumps in water tunnels

        Jiansheng Zhang,Linlin Cao,Jian Cui,Haikui Ren,Yun Wang,Dazhuan Wu 대한기계학회 2023 JOURNAL OF MECHANICAL SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY Vol.37 No.10

The effect of non-uniform inflow on the spatial and temporal distribution of impeller excitation is investigated. The experiments are first conducted to verify the hydraulic performance of the axial flow pump and to provide a reference for the accuracy of the numerical simulations. Subsequently, the effect of non-uniform inflow on the spatial and temporal distribution of the flow field and impeller load is investigated. The results indicate that the non-uniform inflow modifies the velocity distribution at the impeller inlet, resulting in alterations in the attack angle and subsequently affecting the radial and circumferential distribution of the impeller load. The extreme difference in the head between the different blades can reach up to 36 % of the total head. Furthermore, velocity pulsation and attack pulsation exhibit more pronounced fluctuations in the low-speed region, and there exists a strong correlation between the amplitude of unsteady forces and the magnitude of the impeller load.

Antibody-conjugated gold nanoparticles as nanotransducers for second near-infrared photo-stimulation of neurons in rats

        Liu Jiansheng,Li Jiajia,Zhang Shu,Ding Mengbin,Yu Ningyue,Li Jingchao,Wang Xiuhui,Li Zhaohui 나노기술연구협의회 2022 Nano Convergence Vol.9 No.13

Infrared neural stimulation with the assistance of photothermal transducers holds great promise as a mini-invasive neural modulation modality. Optical nanoparticles with the absorption in the near-infrared (NIR) window have emerged as excellent photothermal transducers due to their good biocompatibility, surface modifiability, and tunable optical absorption. However, poor activation efficiency and limited stimulation depth are main predicaments encountered in the neural stimulation mediated by these nanoparticles. In this study, we prepared a targeted polydopamine (PDA)-coated gold (Au) nanoparticles with specific binding to thermo-sensitive ion channel as nanotransducers for second near-infrared (NIR-II) photo-stimulation of neurons in rats. The targeted Au nanoparticles were constructed via conjugation of anti-TRPV1 antibody with PEGylated PDA-coated Au nanoparticles and thus exhibited potent photothermal performance property in the second NIR (NIR-II) window and converted NIR-II light to heat to rapidly activate Ca 2+ influx of neurons in vitro. Furthermore, wireless photothermal stimulation of neurons in living rat successfully evoke excitation in neurons in the targeted brain region as deep as 5 mm beneath cortex. This study thus demonstrates a remote-controlled strategy for neuromodulation using photothermal nanotransducers.

Laboratory Investigation of Stress State and Grain Composition Affecting Internal Erosion in Soils Containing a Suspended Cut-off Wall

        Shuang Wang,Jiansheng Chen,Jinchang Sheng,Yulong Luo 대한토목학회 2016 KSCE JOURNAL OF CIVIL ENGINEERING Vol.20 No.4

Cut-off walls have been widely used to control seepage in dams and their foundations for over 100 years. The soil at the bottom of a cut-off wall is usually under complex stress and composed of various particles with different contents. In this study, the effects of the stress state and grain composition on the evolution of internal erosion were investigated in sandy gravel foundations containing a suspended cut-off wall. The following observations were made based on the experimental results: (1) The fine-particle content of the soil sample considerably influences the evolution of internal erosion. For high fine-particle content, particles are likely to clog under the downward flow; however, for low fine-particle content, the downward flow assists the migration of fine particles. (2) Deviatoric stress considerably influences the soil structure. The soil sample is compressed under low deviatoric stress; however, it undergoes dilatancy under high deviatoric stress. (3) Dilatant behavior is also controlled by confining stress. The higher the confining stress, the higher is the deviatoric stress applied on the soil sample, which produces dilatancy, and the smaller is the volumetric expansion. The obtained results will enhance the understanding of the progression mechanism of internal erosion around suspended cut-off walls.

Sox12 Is a Cancer Stem-Like Cell Marker in Hepatocellular Carcinoma

        Zou, Song,Wang, Chen,Liu, Jiansheng,Wang, Qun,Zhang, Dongdong,Zhu, Shengnan,Xu, Shengyuan,Kang, Mafei,He, Shaozhong Korean Society for Molecular and Cellular Biology 2017 Molecules and cells Vol.40 No.11

Recent studies on molecular carcinogenesis suggest that the chemo-resistance of some cancers is largely due to presence of cancer stem cells (CSCs), which affect the chemotherapy outcome for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). However, currently no consensus on a CSC phenotype in HCC has been obtained. Here, we examined Sox12 as a novel CSC marker in HCC. Sox12+ versus Sox12- cells were purified from HCC cell lines. The Sox12+ cells were compared with Sox12- HCC cells for tumor sphere formation, chemo-resistance, tumor formation after serial adoptive transplantations in nude mice, and the frequency of developing distal metastasis. We found that compared to Sox12- HCC cells, Sox12+ HCC cells generated significantly more tumor spheres in culture, were more chemo-resistant to cisplatin, were detected in circulation more frequently, and formed distal tumor more frequently. Moreover, Sox12 appeared to functionally contribute to the stemness of HCC cells. Thus, we conclude that Sox12 may be a novel marker for enriching CSCs in HCC.

      • Research on Background Extraction of Dynamic Video

Jun Li,Jianwu Dang,Jiansheng Wang 보안공학연구지원센터 2015 International Journal of Hybrid Information Techno Vol.8 No.10

As for heavy traffic, road congestion and the hard extraction of vehicles in dynamic video, an improved method of dynamic video background updating is proposed. By using frame-to-frame differences and mask technology, the hole of difference image is eliminated, then extracts the reliably initial background. The image is segmented by using double threshold based on the combination of Bacterial Foraging Optimization Algorithm and Otsu Algorithm to improve the effect and reliability of background updating. Experiments shows that it is an effective way that is good in speed and effective in background extraction, and provides a good foundation for further study of the vehicle tracking.
