        Synthesis of rGO/TiO2/CdS Nanocomposites and its Enhanced Photoelectrochemical Performance in Determination of Parathion-Methyl

        A photoelectrochemical (PEC) sensor for the determination of organophosphate pesticides (OPs) was developed based on rGO/TiO2/CdS photoactive nanomaterials. The rGO/TiO2/CdS nanocomposites were prepared by solvothermal method and electrochemical deposition technique successively. The morphologies and structures of the as-prepared nanocomposites were extensively investigated by SEM and XRD. In alkaline condition, p-nitrophenol as the hydrolysate of parathion-methyl (PM) could be obtained by a simple hydrolyzation process. Under optimal conditions, the rGO/TiO2/CdS NPs modified ITO electrode exhibited a good PEC performance toward the hydrolysate of PM. The photocurrent intensity was enhanced with the increase of the concentration of the hydrolysate of PM. The proposed PEC method could detect PM in the range from 0.05 nmol L -1 to 10 nmol L -1 with a detection limit of 0.02 nmol L -1 (S/N = 3). Thus, the excellent performance of the rGO/TiO2/CdS nanocomposites serve as the matrix of the sensor, which provides a new way for the fabrication of high-sensitivity PEC sensing system.

      • Design and Implementation of Knowledge based Cloud Platform for NSFC Service System

        With the quickly development of Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) foundations, management of mass fund-relevant digital data, such as researchers and institutions, academic achievement, funds and so on, is becoming more and more important for supporting basic scientific research. In this paper, we fully introduce the design and implementation of NSFC cloud platform that will be implemented in the service system of knowledge base. Firstly, the whole cloud platform architecture is presented. Then we introduce the system software and equipment environment of our platform. Lastly, we present the construction of private cloud, network components, storage components, and computing components, respectively, with illustrative figures and tables.

        The Evaluation of the Hydrogeological Parameters of a Field Pumping Test within Multi-layer Unconfined Pebble Aquifers: A Case Study

        This paper presents a case study of field pumping tests and the evaluation of the hydrogeological parameters of the unconfined pebble aquifers in the test site located at Shijiawan station in Luoyang City, China, which guarantees the construction safety of Metro Line 1. Multiple groups of single-well pumping tests and one group-well pumping test were conducted to obtain the aquifers' hydrogeological parameters. Then, a combination of theoretical analysis and numerical simulation was used to evaluate the aquifers' hydrogeological parameters. The analytical solutions were obtained for the unconfined, anisotropic pebble aquifers using the Neuman model. The numerical simulation was established via the finite element method (FEM). The calculation results indicate that the theoretical analysis and numerical simulation parameters are well matched. Moreover, the results of the numerical method which considers the heterogeneous and horizontal isotropic characteristics of the pebble stratum, as well as the hydrogeological parameters are more reliable than the results obtained by the theoretical analysis. The pumping tests also indicate that the supporting structure plays a significant role in waterproofing during dewatering construction.

      • Illumination Invariant Chinese Chessboard Reconstruction Based on Color Image

        This paper introduces a new approach based on binarized Gabor filters and Hough transform to reconstruct Chinese chessboard by computation. Firstly, Gabor transform is performed directly on an original color image of chessboard to obtain Gabor filters in which only interested lines are kept by selecting appropriate parameters. Secondly, Gabor filters image is binarized and thinned and then lines are detected by Hough transform. Thirdly, a binarized Gabor filters’image is affine rectified and three parameters which dominate reconstruction of chessboard are measured and coordinates of any crossing points in the chessboard can be calculated based on priori information and measured data. Finally, experiments have been conducted to verify illumination invariant feature of proposed approach. Results reveal that this new approach is more robust to illumination change. Comparing to conventional method, it is obviously superior and has been applied in a robust machine vision system for Chinese chess playing robot.

      • Construction Scheme of NSFC Open Access Library

        With the fast development of Open Access (OA) in recent years, it helps stimulate free scientific achievements propagation via Internet and promote academic exchange and fast publishing in an efficient and cheap way. In this paper, we propose a construction scheme of our Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) open access library which is under development recently. We first propose our overall architecture for OA library. Then, we present detailed design from upper layer OA webpage with 3-level display hierarchy to the middle layer some key function modules. Next, bottom layer raw data acquisition module and other important system function modules like interface module, people management and security modules are explained with illustrative figures and table.

        Electromechanical analysis of 2-2 cement-based piezoelectric transducers in series electrically

        his paper aims to present the analytical solutions of 2-2 cement based piezoelectric transducers in series electrically based on the theory of piezo-elastic dynamics. The solutions of two different kinds of 2-2 cement based piezoelectric transducers under external harmonic load are obtained by using the displacement method. The effects of electrical connection of piezoelectric layers, loading frequency, thickness and distance of piezoelectric layers on the characteristics of the transducers are discussed. Comparisons with other related experimental investigations are also given, and good agreement is found. The proposed 2-2 cement based piezoelectric transducers have a great potential application in monitoring structural health in civil engineering and capturing mechanical energy or monitoring train-running safety in railway system and traffic safety in road system.

        An Improved Attention-based Bidirectional LSTM Model for Cyanobacterial Bloom Prediction

        Cyanobacterial blooms are one of the most serious water pollution problems for freshwater lakes. The treatment of blooms requires a lot of material and financial resources, so an early accurate prediction of cyanobacterial blooms is a very important way to deal with the outbreak of them. But it is challenging to predict the cyanobacterial blooms due to the uncertainty and complexity of their growth process. To deal with this problem, an improved attention-based bidirectional long short-term memory (LSTM) model is proposed in this paper, to make multistep predictions of chlorophyll-a concentration, which is a recognized characterization of algae activity. Firstly, the convolutional neural network (CNN) is used to extract data features and spatiotemporal correlation. Secondly, the bidirectional LSTM network (BiLSTM) is used to predict the concentration of chlorophyll-a based on the extracted features. Finally, the attention mechanism is used to calculate the weights for the characteristic factors that affect the chlorophyll-a concentration. At last, some experiments are carried out based on the real monitoring data of a platform in the Taihu Lake area. Compared with the prediction results of the other four state-of-the-art deep learning methods, the results show that the proposed method in this paper has the highest prediction accuracy.

        Complete genome and phylogenetic analysis of bovine papillomavirus type 15 in Southern Xinjiang dairy cow

        Background: Bovine papilloma is a neoplastic disease caused by bovine papillomaviruses (BPVs), which were recently divided into 5 genera and at least 24 genotypes. Objectives: The complete genome sequence of BPV type 15 (BPV Aks-02), a novel putative BPV type from skin samples from infected cows in Southern Xinjiang China, was determined by collecting warty lesions, followed by DNA extraction and amplicon sequencing. Methods: DNA was analyzed initially by polymerase chain reaction (PCR) using the degenerate primers FAP59 and FAP64. The complete genome sequences of the BPV Aks-02 were amplified by PCR using the amplification primers and sequencing primers. Sequence analysis and phylogenetic analysis were performed using bio-informatic software. Results: The nucleotide sequence of the L1 open reading frame (ORF) of BPV Aks-02 was 75% identity to the L1 ORF of BPV-9 reference strain from GenBank. The complete genome consisted of 7,189 base pairs (G + C content of 42.50%) that encoded 5 early (E8, E7, E1, E2, and E4) and 2 late (L1 and L2) genes. The E7 protein contained a consensus CX2CX29CX2C zinc-binding domain and a LxCxE motif. Among the different members of this group, the percentages of the complete genome and ORFs (including 5 early and 2 late ORFs) sequence identity of BPV Aks-02 were closer to the genus Xipapillomavirus 1 of the Xipapillomavirus genus. Phylogenetic analysis and sequence similarities based on the L1 ORF of BPV Aks-02 revealed the same cluster. Conclusions: The results suggest that BPV type (BPV Aks-02) clustered with members of the Xipapillomavirus genus as BPV 15 and were closely related to Xipapillomavirus 1.
