        Physiological and Metabolic Responses for Hexadecane Degradation in Acinetobacter oleivorans DR1

        The hexadecane degradation of Acinetobacter oleivorans DR1 was evaluated with changes in temperature and ionic salt contents. Hexadecane degradation of strain DR1 was reduced markedly by the presence of sodium chloride (but not potassium chloride). High temperature (37°C) was also shown to inhibit the motility,biofilm formation, and hexadecane biodegradation. The biofilm formation of strain DR1 on the oil-water interface might prove to be a critical physiological feature for the degradation of hexadecane. The positive relationship between biofilm formation and hexadecane degradation could be observed at 30°C, but not at low temperatures (25°C). Alterations in cell hydrophobicity and EPS production by temperature and salts were not correlated with biofilm formation and hexadecane degradation. Our proteomic analyses have demonstrated that metabolic changes through the glyoxylate pathway are important for efficient degradation of hexadecane. Proteins involved in fatty acid metabolism, gluconeogenesis, and oxidative stress defense proteins appear to be highly expressed during biodegradation of hexadecane. These results suggested that biofilm formation and oxidative stress defense are important physiological responses for hexadecane degradation along with metabolic switch to glyoxylate pathway in strain DR1.

      • Autonomous isolation, long-term culture and differentiation potential of adult salivary gland-derived stem/progenitor cells.

        <P>Salivary gland stem/progenitor cells belong to the endodermal lineage and may serve as good candidates to replace their dysfunctional counterparts. The objective of this study was to isolate large numbers of salivary gland tissue-derived stem cells (SGSCs) from adult rats in order to develop a clinically applicable method that does not involve sorting or stem cell induction by duct ligation. We analysed SGSCs isolated from normal rat salivary glands to determine whether they retained the major characteristics of stem cells, self-renewal and multipotency, especially with respect to the various endodermal cell types. SGSCs expressed high levels of integrin α6β1 and c-kit, which are surface markers of SGSCs. In particular, the integrin α6β1(+) /c-kit(+) salivary gland cells maintained the morphology, proliferation activity and multipotency of stem cells for up to 92 passages in 12 months. Furthermore, we analysed the capacity of SGSCs to differentiate into endoderm lineage cell types, such as acinar-like and insulin-secreting cells. When cultured on growth factor reduced matrigel, the morphology of progenitor cells changed to acinar-like structures and these cells expressed the acinar cell-specific marker, α-amylase, and tight junction markers. Moreover, reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) data showed increased expression of pancreatic cell markers, including insulin, Pdx1, pan polypeptide and neurogenin-3, when these cells formed pancreatic clusters in the presence of activin A, exendin-4 and retinoic acid. These data demonstrate that adult salivary stem/progenitor cells may serve as a potential source for cell therapy in salivary gland hypofunction and diabetes.</P>

        일반적으로 임상에서 흉부 X선 촬영 시 조사야를 최대로 설정한 후 영상을 획득하기도 하는데, 이는 불필요한 피폭을 유발하며 경사효과로 인한 영상의 질적 저하를 유발하기도 한다. 이에 본 연구에서는 흉부 촬영 시 조사야 면적에 따른 양극과 음극측의 X선 강도를 측정하여 불균등 정도를 고찰하였다. 방사선 조사 조건은 일반적인 가슴 촬영 조건인 관전압 72 kVp, 관전류 100 mA, 조사시간 0.32 초로 설정하였으며, FFD는 100 cm으로 고정하였다. 조사야는 17 x 17, 10 x 12, 8 x 10로 변화시켰으며, 양극측과 음극측에 검출 센서를 위치시킨 후 측정하였다. 측정 결과 조사야 면적이 증가할수록 양극과 음극의 선량은 감소하지만 강도비는 증가하는 경향을 확인할 수 있었다. In general clinical chest X-ray examination, when the image is obtained the radiation field is occasionally set as the maximum size. This causes the unnecessary radiation exposure and a degradation of image quality by the Heel effects. For these reasons, in this study, we measured the X-ray intensity of the anode and cathode and discussed the degree of disproportion according to the size of radiation field in the chest X-ray examination. Exposure condition was set as typical chest examination setup; 72 kVp of tube voltage, 100 mA of tube current, 0.32 second of exposure time. The FFD was fixed as 100 cm. The radiation field was set as 17 x 17, 10 x 12 and 8 x 10. And a detector was located in the anode side and cathode side. Consequently, as a size of the radiation field is increased, the dose of anode and cathode was reduced. On the other hand, the intensity ratio was increasing trends as the size is increasing.

        M2M 빅데이터의 품질관리 영역 및 품질 요인에 대한 연구

        의사결정의 성과란 면에서 데이터 품질에 대한 논의는 문제해결 분야에서 오래전부터 진행되고 오고 있다. 데이터 품질 향상을 위한 관리 활동에 있어서 가장 중요한 기준이 되는 것은 데이터의 품질관리 영역과 요인들을 파악하는 것이다. 최근에 빅데이터의 분석 및 처리와 관련하여 빅데이터 품질에 대한 연구가 시작되었다. 기존의 연 구들은 빅데이터를 일정기간 저장 후 패턴/유형 분석을 위한 데이터의 품질에 초점을 맞추었다. 그러나 기계와 기계(M2M) 간에 발생되어 실시간으로 정보를 제공해야 하는 환경에서의 데이터 품질관리에 대한 연구는 아직 전무하다. 본 연구는 M2M 기반의 실시간 활용을 시스템의 빅데이터 품질관리를 위한 것이다. 즉, M2M 빅데이터의 품질관리 영역과 상세 품질요인들을 파악하고 AHP를 통한 상대적 중요도를 측정한다. 본 연구에는 전통적인 데이터 품질영역 및 빅데이터의 특성을 고려하여 데이터 뜻/의미의 정확성(semantic accuracy), 데이터 구조/형식의 정확성(syntactic accuracy), 데이터 시기적절성(timeliness), 그리고 데이터 보안성 (security) 등을 품질영역으로 결정하였다. 또한 각 품질영역에서 주요 품질요인들을 파악하고 각각을 정의하였다. 본 연구에서는 M2M 실시간 데이터를 제공하는 시스템을 개발하는 프로젝트에 참여하고 있는 전문가들을 대상으로 설문과 인터뷰를 실시하여 품질영역 및 품질요인들의 상대적 중요도를 파악하였다. 이를 통하여 전문가들은 품질영역 중에서 데이터 뜻/의미(0.422) 영역에 이어서 시기적절성(0.344) 영역에 우선순위가 있음을 알 수 있었다. 본 연구는 학술적으로는 새로운 연구영역을 제시했다는데 의미가 있으며, 실무적으로 최근 진행되는 교통, 환경 및 도시시설과 관련된 M2M 실시간 정보제공을 위한 빅데이터 시스템 프로젝트에 적용될 수 있다는데 의미가 있다. 그러나 본 연구의 결과는 제한된 영역에서 실증한 결과이므로 일반화 하는 데에 한계가 있으며 추후 연구가 필요하다. Discussion about data quality in terms of decision-making performance has been ongoing in the field of prob-lem solving for a long time. The most important criterion in data quality management is to identify the data qual-ity dimensions and factors. Recently, research on the quality of big data has been started in relation to big data based decision making. Existing studies have focused on the quality of big data in pattern analysis, where data is stored for a certain period of time and analyzed. However, there is still no research on data quality management in an environment that needs to provide real-time information generated between machines (M2M). This study is for big data quality management of real-time utilization system based on M2M. That is, we identify the data quality dimensions, detailed quality factors, and their relative importance of M2M big data. In this study, we first considered the traditional data quality area and the characteristics of big data. So, in the final data quality dimensions, semantic accuracy, data structure/format accuracy, data timeliness, and data secu-rity were determined. In addition, major quality factors were identified in each quality dimension. In this study, the relative importance of quality dimensions and quality factors was identified by conducting questionnaires and interviews with experts participating in a project to develop a system that provides M2M real-time data. Through AHP analysis, we found that among the quality dimnesions, priority was given to the data meaning/meaning (0.422) dimension followed by the timeliness (0.344) dimension. This study is meaningful in that it has presented a new research area academically, and it is practically mean-ingful that it can be applied to the big data system project for providing M2M real-time information related to traffic, environment, and urban facilities. However, since the results of this study were verified in a limited area, there is a limit to generalization, and further research is needed.

      • Efficient Inorganic–Organic Hybrid Perovskite Solar Cells Based on Pyrene Arylamine Derivatives as Hole-Transporting Materials

        <P>A set of three <I>N</I>,<I>N</I>-di-<I>p</I>-methoxyphenylamine-substituted pyrene derivatives have successfully been synthesized and characterized by <SUP>1</SUP>H/<SUP>13</SUP>C NMR spectroscopy, mass spectrometry, and elemental analysis. The optical and electronic structures of the pyrene derivatives were adjusted by controlling the ratio of <I>N</I>,<I>N</I>-di-<I>p</I>-methoxyphenylamine to pyrene, and investigated by UV/vis spectroscopy and cyclic voltammetry. The pyrene derivatives were employed as hole-transporting materials (HTMs) in fabricating mesoporous TiO<SUB>2</SUB>/CH<SUB>3</SUB>NH<SUB>3</SUB>PbI<SUB>3</SUB>/HTMs/Au solar cells. The pyrene-based derivative Py-C exhibited a short-circuit current density of 20.2 mA/cm<SUP>2</SUP>, an open-circuit voltage (<I>V</I><SUB>oc</SUB>) of 0.886 V, and a fill factor of 69.4% under an illumination of 1 sun (100 mW/cm<SUP>2</SUP>), resulting in an overall power conversion efficiency of 12.4%. The performance is comparable to that of the well-studied spiro-OMeTAD, even though the <I>V</I><SUB>oc</SUB> is slightly lower.
