This paper is concerned with the new production method for jewelry by using rapid prototyping system. this system can directly produce the three-dimensional prototype shape of jewelry based on CAD modeling. Recently, rapid prototyping technology has been regarded as a powerful concurrent tool for integrating design and manufacturing process. In view of this, our study focuses the attention on the new application of this technology into the prototype production of jewelry which has been manufactured almost by hand. The characteristics of various RP systems are presented and one distinct jewelry example has been produced to show that out method is quick and efficient.
소아의 상부 요관확장증에서 폐쇄 유무 감별에 있어 Tc-99m DTPA 이뇨 신장 신티그램의 유용성

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the accuracy of Tc-99m DTPA diuretic renal scans in children upper urinary tract. Materials and Methods: We reviewed diuretic renal scans of 14 pediatric patients (age range: 3 days to 4 years) with unilateral hydronephrosis diagnosed by ultrasonography. Diuretic renal scan was done using Tc-99m DTPA and standardized protocol. In 3 neonates, diuretic renal scans were performed within 1 week and 3-7 months after birth. Results: Six patients required pyeloplasty and eight were managed conservatively. All 6 patients requiring pyeloplasty were diagnosed as having ureteropelvic junction obstruction in the diuretic renal scan. In these 6 patients, post-operative renal scans at 3-12 months after surgery were converted to nonobstructive pattern in 5 and a nonobstructive patterns in 1. In 3 patients who underwent diuretic renal scan within 1 week after birth., nonobstructive patterns of initial scan were coverted to obstructive patterns in the follow-up scan. However, all patients with nonobstructive diuretic renal scans performed after the neonatal period did well on serial ultrasonography and showed favorable clinical outcome without progression to obstruction. Conclusion: Tc-99m DTPA diuretic renal scan with standarized protocol is useful in assessing suspected ureteropelvic junction obstruction in children as an initial diagnostic or post-operative follow-up modality. Nonobstructive or indeterminate scan results in the neonatal period requires follow-up scan to monitor development of the obstructive pattern.
도서관 아동교육 프로그램의 교육환경 구축을 위한 모형설계 및 사례조사

본 연구의 목적은 도서관 아동교육 프로그램이 교육적 효과를 달성할 수 있도록 하기 위하여 구성주의 관점에서 설계된 교육환경 모형을 제시하고, 이를 사례를 통하여 분석 평가하여 시사점을 얻고자 하는 데 있다. 이를 위해 구성주의 관점에 기초하여 도서관 아동교육 프로그램의 교육환경을 설계하였다. 교육환경 모형을 설계하기 위한 요소는 협동학습, 상황성을 가진 지석 지식, 다차원적 접근의 3요소로 구성하였다. 분석 대상 프로그램은 서울과 수도권에 소재한 2개의 도서관 아동교육 프로그램이며, 관찰조사는 2010년 11월에 이루어졌다. 이 조사의 결과 아동이 주체적 학습자가 되도록 하기 위해서는 학습자간 협동학습과 교사와 학습자간 협동학습이 활성화되어야 하며, 구체적 상황과 실제적 과제를 통한 상황성을 가진 지식의 다루어져야 하고, 다차원적 교수 환경과 학습자 환경을 통한 다차원적 접근이 이루어져야 한다는 시사점을 얻을 수 있었다. The goal of this study is to analyze the educational environment of child education programs at public library and to design model based on the constructivist teaching and learning theory that will foster participating children to think critically, construct knowledge, and build creativity. This study was carried out with theoretical consideration through review of literature. Case studies of children`s education programs in 2 public libraries were conducted and analyzed based on the proposed model. These studies revealed that educational environments for cooperational learning, contextualized knowledge, multi-dimensional instruction should be considered for the development in educational function of Korean public libraries.

Melamine-induced nephrotoxicity is closely associated with crystal formation in the kidney caused by combined exposure to melamine (Mel) and cyanuric acid (CA). However, there are few dosage-finding studies for toxicological evaluation of chronic co-exposure to Mel and CA. The objective of this study was to investigate the possible mechanism by which a Mel and CA mixture lead to renal toxicity in rats. Mel and CA were co-administered to rats via oral gavage for 50 days. Nephrotoxicity was determined by measuring blood urea nitrogen (BUN) and serum creatinine (sCr) levels. Relative kidney weights were significantly increased in rats after co-exposure to Mel+CA (63/6.3 or 630/6.3 mg/kg) mixtures. BUN and sCr levels were significantly increased after Mel and CA co-exposure. Taken together, significant increase in KIM-1, NGAL, and calbindin levels were observed in the urine of rats exposed to Mel+CA (63/6.3 or 630/6.3 mg/kg) compared with the corresponding control group. Histological analysis revealed epithelial degeneration and necrotic cell death in the proximal tubules of the kidney after co-exposure to Mel+CA (63/6.3 or 630/6.3 mg/kg). Our data suggest that Mel-mediated renal toxicity may be influenced by CA concentrations in Mel-contaminated milk or foods.
