        PVDF interdigitated transducer for generating and detecting Lamb waves in plates

        Piezoelectric materials have been widely used in ultrasonic nondestructive testing (NDT). PZT ceramics can be used to receive and generate surface acoustic waves. It is a common application to attach PZT transducers to the surface of structures for detecting cracks in nondestructive testing. However, not until recently have piezoelectric polymers attracted more and more attention to be the material for interdigitated (IDT) surface and guided-wave transducers. In this paper, an interdigitated gold-on-polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) transducer for actuating and sensing Lamb waves has been introduced. A specific etching technology is employed for making the surface electrodes into a certain finger pattern, the spacings of which yield different single mode responses of Lamb waves. Experiments have been performed on steel and carbon fiber composite plates. Results from PVDF IDT sensors have been compared with those from PZT transducers for verification.

      • Research on the Data Synchronization of Cloud Stroke based on JSON

        Cloud stroke is the cloud platform according to the medical association theory and combing cloud computing technology, build for the hospital systems which are involved in the medical association to sharing and exchange medical information. However, at this stage, there are some problems in the data exchange of the cloud platform: Firstly, every hospital in the medical association needs to configure a front machine and the front machine needs to connect with the cloud platform database directly. So there is a hidden risk for the cloud stroke. Secondly, the data synchronization vector is Excel file, the data reading efficiency is not very well, and at the same time, the front machine memory consumption is relatively very large. This paper, improve the data interactive process of cloud stroke, so that the front machine unneeded to connect with the cloud platform database directly. Then, design data specification and synchronization process based on JSON for cloud stoke information synchronization to compress the expenses, improve the speed and analysis the security of data synchronization.

      • Medical Association Service Pattern of Collaborative Stroke Prevention and Treatment Based on Cloud Computing

        At present, the distribution of China’s medical resources is uneven. Every day big hospitals are overwhelmed. The problem that it’s difficult and expensive for ordinary people to see doctors is becoming a major social host issue. And major chronic diseases are threatening human health. In order to optimize medical resource allocation and provide more efficient services for patients with major chronic diseases, this paper takes stroke as the entry point and proposes a new medical service pattern. Namely, taking stroke patients as the center, medical association collaborates to prevent and treat them. Because cloud computing is dynamic and scalable and in order to expand to other major diseases and attract more medical associations to join when the medical service pattern is mature, this paper uses cloud computing to support the pattern. And this paper details the new medical service pattern, the framework and the service of cloud platform of medical association collaborating to prevent and treat stroke. The pattern can consider the prevention, treatment, rehabilitation, and other aspects of stroke. And it can achieve the circular medical service pattern which centered on stroke patients and can provide better service for stroke patients.

        Angiopoietin-1 and Angiopoietin-2 Expression Imbalance Influence in Early Period After Subarachnoid Hemorrhage

        Purpose: Microvascular endothelial integrity is important for maintaining the blood-brain barrier (BBB). However, subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH) disrupts this integrity, making the BBB dysfunctional—an important pathophysiological change after SAH. Angiopoietin-1 (Ang-1) and angiopoietin-2 (Ang-2) regulate microvascular permeability by balancing each other’s expression. Methods: This study investigated the dynamics of Ang-1 and Ang-2 expression after SAH and the protective effect of Ang-1 on BBB functioning using an endovascular puncture model of rat SAH. The Ang-1 and Ang-2 expression in brain tissue was determined by immunohistochemistry. In addition, Western blotting was used to estimate Ang-1 and Ang-2 concentration and to compare them at 6–72 hours post-SAH cortex and hippocampus. Evans blue viability assay was used to evaluate BBB permeability, and neurological testing was implemented to evaluate neurological impairment during SAH. Results: It was found that following SAH, Ang-1 expression decreases and Ang-2 expression increases in the cortex, hippocampus, and microvessels. The Ang-1/Ang-2 ratio decreased as quickly as 6 hours after SAH and reached its lowest 1 day after SAH. Finally, it was found that exogenous Ang-1 reduces SAH-associated BBB leakage and improves neurological function in post-SAH rats. Conclusions: Our findings suggest that the equilibrium between Ang-1 and Ang-2 is broken in a period shortly after SAH, and the treatment of exogenous Ang-1 injection alleviates neurological dysfunctions through decreasing BBB destruction.

        Glucocorticosteroid-induced osteoporosis is the most frequent of all secondary types of osteoporosis, and can increase the risk of vertebral compression fractures (VCFs). There are promising additions to current medical treatment for appropriately selected osteoporotic patients. Few studies have reported on the efficiency of percutaneous vertebroplasty (PVP) or kyphoplasty for whole thoracic and lumbar glucocorticosteroid-induced osteoporotic vertebral compression fractures. We report a case of a 67-year-old man with intractable pain caused by successional VCFs treated by PVP.

        EGFR-TKI Combined with Pemetrexed versus EGFR-TKI Monotherapy in Advanced EGFR-Mutated NSCLC: A Prospective, Randomized, Exploratory Study

        Purpose We aimed to evaluate whether the addition of pemetrexed is effective in improving progression-free survival (PFS) in epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR)–mutated patients with or without concomitant alterations. Materials and Methods This multicenter clinical trial was conducted in China from June 15, 2018, to May 31, 2019. A total of 92 non–small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) patients harboring EGFR-sensitive mutations were included and divided into concomitant and non-concomitant groups. Patients in each group were randomly treated with EGFR–tyrosine kinase inhibitor (TKI) monotherapy or EGFR-TKI combined with pemetrexed in a ratio of 1:1. PFS was recorded as the primary endpoint. Results The overall median PFS of this cohort was 10.1 months. There were no significant differences in PFS between patients with and without concomitant and between patients received TKI monotherapy and TKI combined with pemetrexed (p=0.210 and p=0.085, respectively). Stratification analysis indicated that patients received TKI monotherapy had a significantly longer PFS in non-concomitant group than that in concomitant group (p=0.002). In concomitant group, patients received TKI combined with pemetrexed had a significantly longer PFS than patients received TKI monotherapy (p=0.013). Molecular dynamic analysis showed rapidly emerging EGFR T790M in patients received TKI monotherapy. EGFR mutation abundance decreased in patients received TKI combined chemotherapy, which supports better efficacy for a TKI combined chemotherapy as compared to TKI monotherapy. A good correlation between therapeutic efficacy and a change in circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) status was found in 66% of patients, supporting the guiding role of ctDNA minimal residual disease (MRD) in NSCLC treatment. Conclusion EGFR-TKI monotherapy is applicable to EGFR-sensitive patients without concomitant alterations, while a TKI combined chemotherapy is applicable to EGFR-sensitive patients with concomitant alterations. CtDNA MRD may be a potential biomarker for predicting therapeutic efficacy.

        A Study on Cutting and Tribology Performances of TiN and TiAlN Coated Tools

        TiN and TiAlN coatings were deposited on the surface of AISI 5140 steel and cemented carbide YT15 by magnetron sputteringtechnique (MSP). The reciprocating sliding tests of TiN and TiAIN coatings on the surface of AISI 5140 steel were performed toinvestigate the friction coefficients of coatings affected by various normal loads with friction pair of 304 stainless steel balls. Drymachining tests on AISI 5140 hardened steel were carried out with the TiN and TiAlN coated tools on a CA6140A lathe. The effectsof cutting speed on cutting forces and surface roughness of TiN and TiAlN coated tools were obtained and analyzed to assess thecutting performance of coated tools. The microcosmic micrographs of wear areas of coated tools were observed and investigated byscanning electron microscope and energy dispersive spectrum. The results show that the friction coefficients of TiN coatings are lowerthan that of TiAlN coatings. The cutting force of TiAlN coated tool decreases and flank wear resistance enhances in comparison withTiN coated tool. The wear form and mechanisms of TiN coated tool are mainly crater wear on the rake face and adhesive wear andabrasive wear on the flank face. The wear form and mechanisms of TiAlN coated tool are mainly adhesive wear, the breakage ofcutting edge and the damage of tip, accompanied with diffusion and oxidation wear.
