The physiochemical properties and interactions between porcine blood and waxy rice were determined. Addition of calcium chloride (0.15%) improved acceptability of blood cake and increased the gelatinization degree of waxy rice. The water-holding capacity of porcine blood gel (blood/water=60/40, v/v), extent of absorption and gelatinization of waxy rice, and scanning electron microscopy showed that blood protein matrix and waxy rice are competitors for holding water in the cooking procedure. Non-haem iron content increased linearly (R=0.95) when heating temperature rose. The presence of blood proteins caused increasing of peak temperature (Tp) of gelatinization in differential scanning calorimetric thermal gram, The microstnlcture of plasma proteins and haemoglobin appeared continuous changes, and interacted with surface of waxy rice flour in terms of network and mosaic form, respectively. The electrophoretic patterns revealed an interaction between plasma proteins and waxy rice glutelin and haemoglobin when heated could be found at temperatures above $60^{\circ}C$.
Does Spore Count Matter in Fungal Allergy?: The Role of Allergenic Fungal Species
Wan-Rou Lin,Yi-Hsing Chen,Mey-Fann Lee,Ling-Yi Hsu,Chih-Jen Tien,Feng-Ming Shih,Shih-Ching Hsiao,Pi-Han Wang 대한천식알레르기학회 2016 Allergy, Asthma & Immunology Research Vol.8 No.5
Purpose: Fungi have been known to be important aeroallergens for hundreds of years. Most studies have focused on total fungal concentration; however, the concentration of specific allergenic fungi may be more important on an individual basis. Methods: Ten fungal allergic patients and 2 non-fungal allergic patients were enrolled. The patients with a decrease in physician or patient global assessment by more than 50% of their personal best were considered to have an exacerbation of allergic symptoms and to be in the active stage. Those who maintained their physician and patient global assessment scores at their personal best for more than 3 months were considered to be in the inactive stage. The concentrations of dominant fungi in the patients’ houses and outdoors were measured by direct and viable counts at active and inactive stages. Results: The exacerbation of allergic symptoms was not correlated with total fungal spore concentration or the indoor/outdoor ratio (I/O). Specific fungi, such as Cladosporium oxysporum (C. oxyspurum), C. cladosporioides, and Aspergillus niger (A. niger), were found to be significantly higher concentrations in the active stage than in the inactive stage. Presumed allergenic spore concentration threshold levels were 100 CFU/m3 for C. oxysporum, and 10 CFU/m3 for A. niger, Penicillium brevicompactum and Penicillium oxalicum. Conclusions: The major factor causing exacerbation of allergic symptoms in established fungal allergic patients may be the spore concentration of specific allergenic fungi rather than the total fungal concentration. These results may be useful in making recommendations as regards environmental control for fungal allergic patients.
Relativistic Quantum Collision Theory for Many-particle Systems
Keh-Ning Huang,Hsiao-Ling Sun,Sheng-Fang Lin,Hao-Tse Shiao,Xin-Zeng Wu 한국물리학회 2011 THE JOURNAL OF THE KOREAN PHYSICAL SOCIETY Vol.59 No.41
Starting from the relativistic equation of motion governing quantum collision processes, we shall formulate the relativistic quantum collision theory in an ab-initio manner. Quantum electrodynamic effects are, however, incorporated perturbatively. Because heavy projectiles or ultra-high incident energies are considered, the recoil of the target is also treated. Electron-impact ionization of the uranium ion U^(91+) and proton-impact ionization of hydrogen will be given as examples.

This study investigates the antecedents of satisfaction with the product and satisfaction with the brand of consumers when they have received the garment ordered online and tried it on for the first time. We propose four antecedents of product satisfaction and brand satisfaction: (a) brand-based product expectation at purchase, (b) perceived product performance at product receipt,(c) website-visible-attribute expectancy disconfirmation (discrepancy between product expectation and perceived performance of the product attributes that are visible on the website, such as style and color), and (d) website-invisible-attribute expectancy disconfirmation (discrepancy between product expectation and perceived performance of the product attributes that may not be distinguishable on the website, such as fabric, fit, and workmanship). The research design was a 2 (levels of brand-based product expectation) x 2 (levels of perceived product performance) factorial experimental design. We developed two mock-up apparel retailer web pages for the data collection, and 120 participants provided usable responses. The findings revealed that brand-based product expectation and product performance did not influence product or brand satisfaction. Both types of expectancy disconfirmation were determinants of product satisfaction; however, only website-visible-attribute expectancy disconfirmation was the antecedent of brand satisfaction. Based on the findings, theoretical and pragmatic implications are presented.
