        Seroprevalence of Dirofilaria immitis in Cats from Liaoning Province, Northeastern China

        The present study was performed to investigate the seroprevalence and risk factors for Dirofilaria immitis infection in cats from Liaoning province, northeastern China. From October 2014 to September 2016, sera of 651 cats, including 364 domestic cats and 287 feral cats (332 females and 319 males) were assessed. They were tested for the presence of D. immitis antigen using SNAP Heartworm RT test kit. In this population, the average prevalence was 4.5%. Age and rearing conditions (feral or domestic) were found to be associated with the prevalence of D. immitis. The prevalence was significantly higher in feral cats compared with domestic cats (8.4% vs 1.4%, P<0.01). There was no significant difference between males and females (4.7% vs 4.2%, P>0.05), but older cats (≥3 years old) showed a statistically higher prevalence compared with younger cats (<3 years old) in feral populations (16.8 vs 2.4%, P<0.01), while the difference between the age groups was not statistically significant in domestic cats (2.4% vs 0.51%, P>0.05), all these results suggest that outdoor exposure time may be one of the most important factors for D. immitis prevalence in cats. Results reveal that D. immitis are prevalence in domestic and feral cats in northeastern China, which indicates that appropriate preventive measures should be taken to decrease the incidence of feline heartworm disease in Liaoning province, northeastern China.

        Research on Meshing Characteristics of Strain Wave Gearing with Three Different Types of Tooth Profiles

        Harmonic drive (HD) is one of the core components of the robot joint. Studies show that tooth shape design and meshing characteristics of the HD directly affect the motion control accuracy and vibration characteristics of the robot. In the present study, common coordinate systems are established for three tooth profiles to analyze the differences between them. To this end, expressions for the double circular arc common-tangent tooth profile (DCTP), cycloid common tangent tooth profile (CCTP), and the involute tooth profile (ITP) are established in the same coordinate system. By applying the envelope conjugate theory, the conjugate existent domain (CED) and conjugate tooth profile (CTP) of the HD transmission are solved independently for each profile. Furthermore, the influences of tooth profile parameters on both the CTP and CED are analyzed. Obtained results show that both the DCTP and CCTP have more robust envelope processes when compared with the ITP. Moreover, it is found that both profiles can achieve the second conjugate and two-point conjugate engagement through applying variations in the tooth shape design parameters. It is concluded that meshing performances of the DCTP and CCTP are better than that of the ITP, providing guidelines for the future development of the harmonic reducer tooth shape design.

        Calculation of Tooth Thickness Errors and Its Adjustment on Meshing Backlash of Harmonic Drive

        Meshing backlash mainly determines the transmission accuracy of harmonic drive, which is an important index in design. In this paper, a design method for short tooth involute profile is proposed. By intercepting part of the tooth profile, meshing interference of the addendum can be effectively avoided. Based on the dimensions of over pins of circular spline and flexspline, a calculation method of tooth thickness deviation is proposed, and the positive and negative tooth thickness deviation are defined. Involute functions need not be calculated by this method, which simplifies the solution process. By discretizing the teeth profile points of circular spline and flexspline, a calculation method of time-varying backlash is proposed, the variation of backlash in meshing in and out is analyzed, and the influence law of tooth thickness deviation on backlash is studied. On this basis, an algorithm for adjusting the radial deformation to compensate for the backlash is proposed. The results show that the excessive backlash in the meshing area can be reduced by increasing the radial deformation. When meshing interference occurs, the interference-free meshing can be realized by decreasing the radial deformation.

        Research on Keyword-Overlap Similarity Algorithm Optimization in Short English Text Based on Lexical Chunk Theory

        Short-text similarity calculation is one of the hot issues in natural language processing research. The conventionalkeyword-overlap similarity algorithms merely consider the lexical item information and neglect theeffect of the word order. And some of its optimized algorithms combine the word order, but the weights arehard to be determined. In the paper, viewing the keyword-overlap similarity algorithm, the short English textsimilarity algorithm based on lexical chunk theory (LC-SETSA) is proposed, which introduces the lexicalchunk theory existing in cognitive psychology category into the short English text similarity calculation for thefirst time. The lexical chunks are applied to segment short English texts, and the segmentation results demonstratethe semantic connotation and the fixed word order of the lexical chunks, and then the overlap similarityof the lexical chunks is calculated accordingly. Finally, the comparative experiments are carried out, and theexperimental results prove that the proposed algorithm of the paper is feasible, stable, and effective to a largeextent.

        New Forms of Riccati Equations and the Further Results of the Optimal Control for Linear Discrete-Time Systems

        For linear discrete-time systems, the traditional finite horizon optimal controller is proved to render the closed-loop systems asymptotically stable under some assumptions in literature. In this paper, a new form of finite horizon discrete-time Riccati equation is proposed. It is proved that the new form of fi-nite horizon discrete-time Riccati equation is equivalent to the other three old ones. Based on this new form of finite horizon discrete-time Riccati equation, the finite horizon optimal controller of linear discrete time systems is proved to render the closed-loop system exponentially stable without any assumptions. At the same time, a new form of infinite horizon discrete-time Riccati equation is proposed when the discrete system is controllable or stabilizable. It is proved that the new form of infi-nite horizon discrete-time Riccati equation is equivalent to the other three old ones too. Based on this new form of infinite horizon discrete-time Riccati equation, the infinite horizon optimal controller of linear discrete-time systems is proved to render the closed-loop system exponentially stable when the open-loop system is either controllable or stabilizable. Finally an unstable batch reactor and an unsta-ble inverted pendulum are used to verify the theory results of this paper.

        Composition and abundance of microbiota in the pharynx in patients with laryngeal carcinoma and vocal cord polyps

        The pharynx is an important site of microbiota colonization, but the bacterial populations at this site have been relatively unexplored by culture-independent approaches. The aim of this study was to characterize the microbiota structure of the pharynx. Pyrosequencing of 16S rRNA gene libraries was used to characterize the pharyngeal microbiota using swab samples from 68 subjects with laryngeal cancer and 28 subjects with vocal cord polyps. Overall, the major phylum was Firmicutes, with Streptococcus as the predominant genus in the pharyngeal communities. Nine core operational taxonomic units detected from Streptococcus, Fusobacterium, Prevotella, Granulicatella, and Veillonella accounted for 21.3% of the total sequences detected. However, there was no difference in bacterial communities in the pharynx from patients with laryngeal cancer and vocal cord polyps. The relative abundance of Firmicutes was inversely correlated with Fusobacteria, Proteobacteria, Actinobacteria, and Bacteroidetes. The correlation was evident at the genus level, and the relative abundance of Streptococcus was inversely associated with Fusobacterium, Leptotrichia, Neisseria, Actinomyces, and Prevotella. This study presented a profile for the overall structure of the microbiota in pharyngeal swab samples. Inverse correlations were found between Streptococcus and other bacterial communities, suggesting that potential antagonism may exist among pharyngeal microbiota.

        Synchronization of Nonlinear Coupled Delayed Networks via Intermittent Pinning Control: An Average Technique

        This paper is concerned with the aperiodically intermittent pinning control (AIPC) for the synchronization of nonlinear coupled networks, where both the internal time delay and the coupling time delay are considered. We consider the aperiodicity of AIPC from the average sense. Then by extending the Halanay’s inequality to the case with two kinds different delays, we obtain two kinds of synchronization criteria: one is the upper bound of time delay must be less than the average control width but can be larger than certain control widths; the other is that the upper bound of time delay has no relationship with the average control width. We show that the two criteria lead to complementary results. The effectiveness of our results is confirmed by numerical simulations.

        Nonlinearity of Shear Response of Unidirectional Laminates under Combined Loading

        본 논문에서는 보완된 변형 에너지 밀도 함수를 기반으로 하여 평면내 비선형 응력-변형률 곡선 모델을 제시한다. 다방향의 적측판에 전단방향과 축방향의 응력이 조합되어 작용할 때의 전단방향의 응답을 예측하였으며, 실험값과 비교하여 제시 모델의 정확성을 검증하였다. 이 과정에서 compliance 상수는 기존 축방향의 응력에 대한 측정값과 일치하도록 결정되었다. 마지막으로 제시된 모델을 이용한 E-glass/vinylester의 전단 응력-변형률 거동은 모든 축외 각도에 대하여 실험 곡선과 일치하며, boron/epoxy와 T800H/3633 적층판의 전단 거동은 15도를 제외한 30도, 45도, 60도의 축외 각도(off-axis angle)에 대하여 실험값과 일치한다. 이는 작은 적층 각도의 변화에도 종방향의 탄성계수는 다른 탄성계수에 비하여 매우 높기 때문이다. We present the prediction of nonlinear in-plane shear stress strain curves based on complementary strain energy density function. When the [θ˚] unidirectional laminates are subjected to a combination of shear stresses and axial stresses, the predicted shear responses of laminates are compared with measured experimental data for verifying this accuracy of this model. In this process, the compliance constants are determined to match the measured test results in terms of the influence of on-axis axial stress. Finally, it is shown that the predicted shear stress strain behavior of E-glass/vinylester concurs with experimental curves for all off-axis angles, while shear behavior predictions of boron/epoxy and T800H/3633 laminates agree with experimental results for 30˚ 45˚ 60˚ off-axis angles laminates except 15˚ off-axis angle laminates. This is because the elastic longitudinal modulus is still significantly higher than the other modulus even for a small off axis angle.

        The alum-processing mechanism attenuating toxicity of Araceae Pinellia ternata and Pinellia pedatisecta

        The present study aimed at investigating thealum-processing mechanism attenuating toxicity of AraceaePinellia ternata and Pinellia pedatisecta. Animalretroperitoneal inflammatory model in vivo andmacrophagocyte release inflammatory factor model in vitrowere used to detect the effect of alum processing onraphides and lectin. Scanning electron microscopy wasused to observe the change in raphides during processing;HPLC method was used to determine the correlation betweenthe dissolution and corrosion of raphides and ion inthe alum solution; 27Al-NMR technology was used to detectthe relationship between aluminum oxalate complexformation and the dissolved and corrosion of raphides. Thechange in protein peptide sequence of lectin during theprocessing of alum solution was determined by ShotgunLC–MS assay. Raphides induced severe rabbit conjunctivaledema and an intraperitoneal injection of lectin increasedPGE2 and protein in mice peritoneal exudate, whiledecreased after treatment with alum solution processing. During the processing raphides was dissolved and corroded,then its structure was damaged. Raphides was soaked inthe alum solution and significantly decreased the oxalatecontent, and the effect was related with Al3? in the alum. Al3? in the alum combined with C2O42- of raphides into astable complex compound promoted the dissolution ofcalcium oxalate. Raphides soaked in the alum made lectinproteins dissolve, whereas protein peptide sequence oflectin was changed and the protein structure was damaged. Conclusion: Alum solution could decrease the toxicity ofP. ternata (Thunb.) Breit. and P. pedatisecta Schott. Sinceit made a special crystal structure of raphides damage andthe protein of lectin dissolve. The structure of toxic substancessignificantly changed, which decreased the inflammatoryeffect.
