BACKGROUND/OBJECTIVES: This study aimed to examine the association of Japanese schoolchildren’s involvement in at-home meal preparation with food intake and cooking skill. SUBJECTS/METHODS: We included 1,207 fifth-grade children aged 10-11 years and one parent of each child. A cross-sectional survey was used to collect data on involvement in at-home meal preparation. Correspondence analysis was used to classify involvement in at-home meal preparation into three groups: food-related activities (cooking only or with other activities such as shopping, table-setting, clean up, and dishwashing), non-food-related activities (table-setting and/or clean up), and no (helping) activities. Food intake was assessed using a food frequency questionnaire. Logistic regression models were used to examine involvement in at-home meal preparation associations. RESULTS: The sample consisted of 1,207 fifth-grade children. Vegetable intake was lower in the no (helping) activities group than the food-related activities group (95% CI; boys: 1.2, 5.1, girls: 2.0, 8.9). Fewer children in the non-food-related activities group reported they were able to make a portion of their meals compared with the food-related activities group (95% CI; boys: 1.6, 3.5; girls: 1.5, 3.2). CONCLUSIONS: Children in the food-related activities group showed more favorable food intake and cooking skills than children in the no (helping) activities or non-food-related activities group.

Ba(ZrxTi1−x)O3 (BZT) thin films with different Zr contents were deposited on (100)MgO and(100)Pt/(100)MgO substrates by RF-magnetron sputtering using metal targets. The BZT thinfilms epitaxially grew on MgO substrates with only a (001)/(100) orientation and had a singleperovskite phase. In all cases, Ba/Ti ratio was stoichiometric and the BZT films possessed a densemicrostructure. The grain size decreased with increasing Zr content. At room temperature, adielectric constant as a function of the DC bais (tunability) of nearly 30% was achieved at 1 MHz;meanwhile, a relatively low dielectric loss was obtained. Moreover, after a post-annealing process,the tunability was increased significantly. These results indicate that we succeeded in depositinghigh-quality, and potential tunable ferroelectrics.
Adrenal Venous Sampling for Subtype Diagnosis of Primary Hyperaldosteronism

Adrenal venous sampling (AVS) is the key procedure for lateralization of primary hyperaldosteronism (PA) before surgery. Identification of the adrenal veins using computed tomography (CT) and intraoperative cortisol assay facilitates the success of catheterization. Although administration of adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH) has benefits such as improving the success rate, some unilateral cases could be falsely diagnosed as bilateral. Selectivity index of 5 with ACTH stimulation to assess the selectivity of catheterization and lateralization index (LI) >4 with ACTH stimulation for unilateral diagnosis is used in many centers. Co-secretion of cortisol from the tumor potentially affects the lateralization by the LI. Patients aged <35 years with hypokalemia, marked aldosteroneexcess, and unilateral adrenal nodule on CT have a higher probability of unilateral disease. Patients with normokalemia, mild aldosterone excess, and no adrenal tumor on CT have a higher probability of bilateral disease. Although no methods have 100% specificity for subtype diagnosis that would allow bypassing AVS, prediction of the subtype should be considered when recommending AVSto patients. Methodological standardization and strict indication improve diagnostic quality of AVS. Development of non-invasiveimaging and biochemical markers will drive a paradigm shift in the clinical practice of PA.
