Random vibration analysis of train-slab track-bridge coupling system under earthquakes

        Zhi-ping Zeng,Xian-feng He,Yan-gang Zhao,Zhi-wu Yu,Ling-kun Chen,Wen-tao Xu,Ping Lou 국제구조공학회 2015 Structural Engineering and Mechanics, An Int'l Jou Vol.54 No.5

This study aimed to investigate the random vibration characteristic of train-slab track-bridge interaction system subjected to both track irregularities and earthquakes by use of pseudo-excitation method (PEM). Each vehicle subsystem was modeled by multibody dynamics. A three-dimensional rail-slabgirder-pier finite element model was created to simulate slab track and bridge subsystem. The equations of motion for the entire system were established based on the constraint condition of no jump between wheel and rail. The random load vectors of equations of motion were formulated by transforming track irregularities and seismic accelerations into a series of deterministic pseudo-excitations according to their respective power spectral density (PSD) functions by means of PEM. The time-dependent PSDs of random vibration responses of the system were obtained by step-by-step integration method, and the corresponding extreme values were estimated based on the first-passage failure criterion. As a case study, an ICE3 high-speed train passing a fifteen-span simply supported girder bridge simultaneously excited by track irregularities and earthquakes is presented. The evaluated extreme values and the PSD characteristic of the random vibration responses of bridge and train are analyzed, and the influences of train speed and track irregularities (without earthquakes) on the random vibration characteristic of bridge and train are discussed.

      • An Optimized Motion Estimation Algorithm and Application in the FRUC System

        Min-Jun Deng,Ping Gan,Zhuo Chen,Xiao-Qing Shen,Dong-Lian Li,Ming-Yan Yu,Yu Zhang,Cai -Lan Zeng,He Huang 보안공학연구지원센터 2015 International Journal of Multimedia and Ubiquitous Vol.10 No.8

Based on the optimized three-step search algorithm. Combining threshold judgment as well as local full search, a more efficient motion estimation algorithm is proposed. The algorithm not only inherited the traditional three-step algorithm’s quick speed but also kept the advantages of a relatively small amount of calculation, besides it can avoid the local optimum problem in the three-step search algorithm (TSS). In addition, the algorithm combined with the threshold judgment and local full search algorithm, so it also maintains satisfactory visual quality. Comparing the algorithm with TSS and local full search algorithm (LFS). The algorithm has great performance in search points and peak signal-to-noise ratio. Experimental results show that compared with LFS, search points drop by 34.61% ~ 54.47% .While compared with the TSS, the search points only rise by 6.15% ~ 12.21%. The average PSNR of proposed Algorithm is 0.24dB higher than LFS and 3.30dB higher than TSS.

Static and free vibration analysis of shallow sagging inclined cables

        Zhi-Jiang Li,Peng Li,Zeng He,Ping Cao 국제구조공학회 2013 Structural Engineering and Mechanics, An Int'l Jou Vol.45 No.2

Based on link-model, we conducted a static analysis and computation of a three-span suspended cable structure in the present paper, and obtained the static configuration and tension distribution of the cable. Using the link and beam model based on finite element method, we analyzed the vibration modal of three-span suspended cable structure, and compared with the results obtained from ANSYS using link and beam element. The vibration modals of shallow sagging inclined cables calculated from proposed method agrees well with ANSYS results, which validates the proposed method. As a result, the influence of bend stiffness on in-plane natural frequencies is much greater than that on out-of-plane natural frequencies of inclined cables.

Neodymium disilicate ceramic pigment synthesized by solid-state method with pre-grinding and mineralizer

Shanjun Ke,Yanmin Wang,Zhidong Pan,He-Ping Zeng 한양대학교 세라믹연구소 2019 Journal of Ceramic Processing Research Vol.20 No.3

A ceramic pigment of neodymium disilicate (i.e., Nd2Si2O7) was synthesized via solid-state reaction with pre-grinding assistanceand a mineralizer. The effects of pre-grinding and mineralizer (i.e., lithium chloride, boric acid and calcium fluoride) on thephase, microstructure and coloring properties of ceramic pigment were investigated by differential thermal analysis, X-raydiffraction, scanning electron microscopy and reflectance spectra in the visible range from 400 nm to 700 nm, respectively. Theresults show that the reaction temperature of Nd2Si2O7 can be decreased by pre-grinding, and the temperature of forming soleNd2Si2O7 phase is further decreased by 200 oC when lithium chloride is used as a mineralizer. Boric acid as a mineralizer canlead to an uneven distribution of Nd and Si components. The sample synthesized with calcium fluoride as a mineralizer cannotobtain Nd2Si2O7 phase. Nd2Si2O7 can be synthesized effectively when lithium chloride is used as a mineralizer.

Preparation and thermodynamic equilibrium analysis of neodymium disilicate via sol-precipitation and sintering

Shanjun Ke,Yanmin Wang,Zhidong Pan,He-Ping Zeng 한양대학교 세라믹연구소 2020 Journal of Ceramic Processing Research Vol.21 No.3

Neodymium disilicate powders were synthesized via a sol-precipitation method with different precipitants (i.e., ammonia, ammonium bicarbonate and urea) and subsequent sintering. The samples were characterized by X-ray diffraction. In addition,a theoretical relationship between neodymium ion concentrations in different precipitation equilibrium solutions was alsoinvestigated and analyzed based on thermodynamic equilibrium calculation. The results show that the precipitant type has animpact on the phase compositions of the precursors and the sintered products. In the synthesis, neodymium ions can becompletely precipitated as amorphous neodymium hydroxide with ammonia as a precipitate at pH 8~9. For ammoniumbicarbonate as a precipitate, the precursor type is related to both carbon concentration and pH value. The excessive hydroxideforms neodymium hydroxycarbonate in a heated urea solution. The possible formation mechanism of silicon sol in the presenceof different precipitants was discussed.

Examination of a Nurse-led Community-based Education and Coaching Intervention for Coronary Heart Disease High-risk Individuals in China

        Yan-Jin Huang,Monica Parry,Ying Zeng,Yan Luo,Jing Yang,Guo-Ping He 한국간호과학회 2017 Asian Nursing Research Vol.11 No.3

Purpose: Early detection and management of coronary heart disease (CHD) are embedded into many community health service and primary care practices in western countries. The Framingham CHD risk score has been used to predict CHD and mortality for nearly 20 years, and it has predicted CHD event risk accurately in multiethnic populations. The aim of this study was to access the effect of a 6-month community-based intervention on CHD risk in individuals at high risk. Methods: A randomized controlled trial of individuals with a high 10-year CHD risk were recruited from two communities in China. Individuals in the intervention group (n ¼ 53) received a 3-month group education and a 3-month coaching session. Physical examination and self-report questionnaires were used to collect both pre- and postintervention data on blood pressure, glucose, cholesterol, body mass index, smoking, depression, and health-related quality of life (HRQoL). Results: A total of 102 participants (85.0%) completed the 6-month study. Compared with the usual care group, the intervention group had a 5 mmHg greater reduction in systolic blood pressure (t = 2.01, p = .047), larger declines in glucose (t = 2.49, p = .015), cholesterol (t = 2.44, p = .017), body mass index (t = 2.58, p = .011), and depression (t = 2.05, p = .043), and better reports of HRQoL (t = 3.36, p = .001). No significant group differences in smoking behaviors were reported. Conclusion: A 6-month community-based intervention in a CHD high-risk population improved diseaserelated risk factors, depression, and HRQoL. Results provide preliminary evidence for primary prevention of cardiovascular disease risk in a community high-risk population.

Hexadecanoic Acid from Buzhong Yiqi Decoction Induced Proliferation of Bone Marrow Mesenchymal Stem Cells

        Dong-Feng Chen,Xican Li,Zhiwei Xu,Xiaobing Liu,Shao-Hui Du,Hui Li,Jian-Hong Zhou,He-Ping Zeng,Zi-Chun Hua 한국식품영양과학회 2010 Journal of medicinal food Vol.13 No.4

Buzhong Yiqi decoction (BYD) is a well-known ancient tonic prescription in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM). The purpose of this study is to identify active components of BYD involved in promoting proliferation of mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) and to investigate its mechanism. BYD was extracted with petroleum ether, ethanol, and water. Evidence provided by 3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide, bromodeoxyuridine, proliferation cell nuclear antigen immunoreactivity, cell cycle analysis, and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry indicated that hexadecanoic acid (HA) in BYD extracted with petroleum ether is the active compound responsible for increasing proliferation of MSCs. Western blot analysis show that HA significantly increase retinoic acid receptor (RAR) levels of MSCs, but not estrogen receptor, thyroid hormone receptor, vitamin D receptor, glucocorticoid receptor, and peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor. Reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction revealed that HA significantly increased RAR mRNA levels. Furthermore, the mechanism of HA action depends on RAR pathway and up-regulates expression of mRNA for insulin-like growth factor-I, the target gene of RAR. Our findings have now allowed for a refinement in our understanding of TCM with respect to pharmacological regulation of stem cells and may be useful to stem cell biology and therapy.

ZNF488 Enhances the Invasion and Tumorigenesis in Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma Via the Wnt Signaling Pathway Involving Epithelial Mesenchymal Transition

        Dan Zong,Li Yin,Qian Zhong,Wen-jie Guo,Jian-hua Xu,Ning Jiang,Zhi-rui Lin,Man-zhi Li,Ping Han,Lin Xu,Xia He,Mu-sheng Zeng 대한암학회 2016 Cancer Research and Treatment Vol.48 No.1

Purpose The purpose of this study was to investigate the function of Zinc finger protein 488 (ZNF488) in nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC). Materials and Methods The endogenous expression of ZNF488 in NPC tissues, normal nasopharyngeal epithelium tissues and NPC cell lines were detected by quantitative reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction. ZNF488 over-expressing and knock-down NPC cell line models were estab- lished through retroviral vector pMSCV mediated over-expression and small interfering RNA (siRNA) mediated knock-down. The invasion and migration capacities were evaluated by wound healing and transwell invasion assays in ZNF488 over-expressing and control cell lines. Soft-agar colony formation and a xenograft experiment were performed to study tumorigenic ability in vitro and in vivo. Immunofluorescence and western blotting analysis were used to examine protein changes followed by ZNF488 over-expression. Microarray analysis was performed to explore gene expression profilings, while luciferase reporter assay to evaluate the transcriptive activity of Tcf/Lef. Results ZNF488 was over-expressed in NPC tissues compared with normal tissues, especially higher in 5-8F and S18, which are well-established high metastatic NPC clones. Functional studies indicate that over-expression of ZNF488 provokes invasion, whereas knock-down of ZNF488 alleviates invasive capability. Moreover, over-expression of ZNF488 promotes NPC tumor growth both in vitro and in vivo. Our data further show that over-expression of ZNF488 induces epithelial mesenchymal transition (EMT) by activating the WNT/β -catenin signaling pathway. Conclusion Our data strongly suggest that ZNF488 acts as an oncogene, promoting invasion and tumorigenesis by activating the Wnt/β -catenin pathway to induce EMT in NPC.
