      • 우리나라 여성의 삶의 질에 관한 연구

        강한솔,정수현,황은진,이정주,노승용 서울여자대학교 여성연구소 2011 여성연구논총 Vol.26 No.-

People are getting more interested in their “quality of life” as they achieved certain level of economic development. Governments pay great attention on well-being and happiness of people as well and try to find the best way to improve citizens' quality of life. However, South Korea is still on 27th out of 39 OECD and G20 countries in quality of life index, which means that there are great needs to improve Koreans' quality of life. Moreover, it is expected that Korean women's quality of life might be worse than this in its patriarchal environments. In fact, there are few research regarding Korean women's quality of life and it is unknown what personal and social factors affect Korean women's quality of life and how we can improve it. This research attempts to find out factors related to Korean women's quality of life through the surveys of 536 Korean women. The results show that quality of life is most influenced by factors such as self-fulfillment, socio-economic independence, satisfaction with the residence, and satisfaction with cultural activities. In addition, happiness of Korean womem is greatly affected by various factors such as mental health, interpersonal relationship, self-respect, self-fulfillment, socio-economic independence, satisfaction with the residence, and satisfaction with cultural activities. Among various factors related to quality of life and happiness of Korean women, scores of self-respect, self-fulfillment, and interpersonal relationship are high, while scores regarding income are relatively low. • 시민참여와 정부신뢰

        정수현,강한솔,황은진,이정주,노승용 서울여자대학교 사회과학연구소 2012 사회과학논총 Vol.19 No.-

Trust in government adds legitimacy to political system, provides social stability, and helps government to work effectively. In addition it increases cooperation between governments and citizens, and improves effectiveness of government affairs. However, citizens' trust in government has been quite low sine 1990s. In Korea, citizens' trust in government dropped after financial crisis in late 1990s. Various literatures indicated that citizen participation is one of the best ways to increase citizens' trust in governments. Especially as information technology increases, it is expected that citizens acquire information about different policy areas, and actively participate in surveys, discussion, and policy evaluation through internet. This research attempts to prove the relationship between citizen participation and trust in government by comparing online and offline citizen participation. The research utilized 2nd dataset from 'the influence of information on citizens' participation in policy-making.' With various statistical techniques such as frequency analysis, cross tabulation, ANOVA, and regression analysis, the characteristics of offline and online policy participants are examined. The results showed that citizens, who participate in policy-making processes more actively both online and offline, trust in government less. Comparing online and offline participation, online participants distrusted government more than offline participants. Such variables as policy competitiveness, democracy in government, quality of government, and transparency in government have direct influences on trust in government. However, citizen participation is not statistically significant. Key Words:Citizen Participation, Traditional Citizen Pariticipation, Digital Citizen Participation, Trust in Government.

Screening of Genetic Polymorphisms of CYP3A4 and CYP3A5 Genes

Lee, Jin Sol,Cheong, Hyun Sub,Kim, Lyoung Hyo,Kim, Ji On,Seo, Doo Won,Kim, Young Hoon,Chung, Myeon Woo,Han, Soon Young,Shin, Hyoung Doo The Korean Society of Pharmacology 2013 The Korean Journal of Physiology & Pharmacology Vol.17 No.6

Given the CYP3A4 and CYP3A5's impact on the efficacy of drugs, the genetic backgrounds of individuals and populations are regarded as an important factor to be considered in the prescription of personalized medicine. However, genetic studies with Korean population are relatively scarce compared to those with other populations. In this study, we aimed to identify CYP3A4/5 polymorphisms and compare the genotype distributions among five ethnicities. To identify CYP3A4/5 SNPs, we first performed direct sequencing with 288 DNA samples which consisted of 96 Koreans, 48 European-Americans, 48 African-Americans, 48 Han Chinese, and 48 Japanese. The direct sequencing identified 15 novel SNPs, as well as 42 known polymorphisms. We defined the genotype distributions, and compared the allele frequencies among five ethnicities. The results showed that minor allele frequencies of Korean population were similar with those of the Japanese and Han Chinese populations, whereas there were distinct differences from European-Americans or African-Americans. Among the pharmacogenetic markers, frequencies of $CYP3A4^*1B$ (rs2740574) and $CYP3A5^*3C$ (rs776742) in Asian groups were different from those in other populations. In addition, minor allele frequency of $CYP3A4^*18$ (rs28371759) was the highest in Korean population. Additional in silico analysis predicted that two novel non-synonymous SNPs in CYP3A5 (+27256C>T, P389S and +31546T>G, I488S) could alter protein structure. The frequency distributions of the identified polymorphisms in the present study may contribute to the expansion of pharmacogenetic knowledge.

<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>An analytical method was developed to quantify the residual levels of the neonicotinoid insecticides, acetamiprid and thiacloprid, in field-incurred butterbur samples using liquid chromatography–tandem mass spectrometry (LC–MS/MS). Samples were extracted with acetonitrile and partitioned with dichloromethane. After partitioning, purification was conducted using a Florisil® cartridge. Linearity of a matrix-matched calibration curve of the two compounds over a concentration range of 0.004–0.4μg/g was excellent, with determination coefficients (<I>R2 </I>)≥0.9998. The limits of detection (LOD) and quantitation (LOQ) for both acetamiprid and thiacloprid were 0.0006 and 0.002mg/kg, respectively. The average recoveries for acetamiprid and thiacloprid at two spiking levels (0.02 and 0.1mg/kg, <I>i.e.</I>, 10×LOQ and 50×LOQ) were between 78.23 to 82.17%, with relative standard deviations (RSDs)≤7.22%. The method was successfully applied to field-incurred samples treated with a commercial pesticide product, either once (zero or 7 days before harvest) or twice (0 and 7, 7 and 14, or 14 and 21 days before harvest). The highest and lowest residues were obtained for the 7 and 0 days’ treatment and the 21 and 14 days’ treatment, respectively. The developed method is simple and accurate and can be extrapolated to other leafy vegetables.</P> <P><B>Highlights</B></P> <P> <UL> <LI> Acetamiprid and thiacloprid were quantified in butterbur using LC–MS/MS. </LI> <LI> Both analytes were extracted with acetonitrile and purified with Florisil cartridge. </LI> <LI> LL partitioning in combination with SPE effectively removed the interferences during purification. </LI> <LI> The developed method determined both analytes accurately and precisely. </LI> <LI> The residual levels in field-incurred butterbur samples decreased with time and number of treatments. </LI> </UL> </P> <P><B>Graphical abstract</B></P> <P>[DISPLAY OMISSION]</P>

Mapping of QTL for yield and its related traits in a doubled haploid population of Korean wheat

        Han Sol Lee,Chul Soo Park,Ji-Ung Jung,Chon-Sik Kang,Hwayoung Heo 한국식물생명공학회 2014 Plant biotechnology reports Vol.8 No.6

This study was conducted to identify thequantitative trait loci (QTL) associated with grain yield andits related traits by analysis of 122 doubled haploid populationderived from a cross between Korean wheat cultivarscarried different yield potential. DH population was evaluatedin replicated field trials in 2011/2012 and 2012/2013at upland and paddy conditions in Iksan, Korea. Grain yieldand its related traits, including days to heading and maturity, culm and spike length, spike number per m2, kernelnumber per spike, and thousand kernel weight, wereinvestigated. A genetic map was constructed with 140microsatellite marker loci and a total of nine QTLs wereidentified on eight chromosomes for grain yield and itsrelated traits. The three QTLs, Xgpw2206, Xgwm247, andXwmc471, were detected on chromosomes 2A, 3A, and 3B,and explained 10.1–22.8 % of phenotypic variation forgrain yield. Among these QTLs, Xgpw2206 and Xgwm247explained 10.7–37.9 % of phenotypic variation for days toheading and maturity, spike length, spike number per m2,and kernel number per spike. Other six QTLs on chromosomes2D, 4A, 5A, 6A, and 7A accounted for 11.4–39.9 %of phenotypic variation for culm and spike length, spikenumber per m2, and thousand kernel weight. Those threeQTLs for grain yield were applied to validate relationshipbetween genotypes of QTL and 25 Korean wheat cultivars. Korean wheat cultivars carried hha genotypes based on theorder of those three QTLs, showed higher GY (664.4 kg/10a) than genotype bha (494.2 kg/10a). Those three QTLscould be used in marker-assisted selection to improve grainyield and its related traits in Korean wheat breedingprograms.

Expression of beta-catenin and its mechanism of delocalization in intestinal-type early gastric cancer based on mucin expression.

        Lee, Soo Han,Kang, Hyun Jeong,Shin, Dong-Hun,Cho, Duk-Yeon,Song, Jin Mi,Lee, Han Cheol,Kim, Gwang Ha,Song, Geun Am,Sol, Mee Young,Kim, Jee Yeon,Choi, Kyung Un,Lee, Chang Hun,Huh, Gi Young,Park, Do You Gutenberg 2009 HISTOLOGY AND HISTOPATHOLOGY Vol.24 No.7

<P>The biological characteristics of intestinal-type early gastric cancers (ICs) differ based on mucin phenotypes. Beta-catenin delocalization is a predictive marker of aggressive biological behavior (submucosal invasion and lymph node metastasis) of ICs. The presumptive causative genetic alterations leading to delocalization of beta-catenin in ICs are still controversial, and there are only a few reports regarding beta-catenin expression in gastric cancer based on mucin phenotypes. Therefore, in the current study, the expression and mechanisms of delocalization of beta-catenin were elucidated on the basis of mucin phenotypes in 109 cases of ICs. There was increased cytoplasmic and nuclear beta-catenin expression (delocalization) in ICs with a predominant intestinal mucin phenotype (ICIP; 46.3% [25/54 cases]) compared to ICs with a predominant gastric mucin phenotype (ICGP; 20% [11/55 cases]). There were no beta-catenin or APC mutations in ICs. APC promoter hypermethylation was present in 49 of 105 (46.7%) cases of ICs. There was a significant relationship between APC promoter hypermethylation and beta-catenin delocalization in ICs, especially in ICIPs. There was no relationship between beta-catenin delocalization and APC gene loss of heterozygosity in ICs. In conclusion, we showed that beta-catenin delocalization was more evident in ICIPs, and APC promoter hypermethylation might play a role in delocalization of beta-catenin, especially in ICIPs.</P>
