        Ginsenoside Rg1 alleviates A deposition by inhibiting NADPH oxidase 2 activation in APP/PS1 mice

        Background: Ginsenoside Rg1 (Rg1), an active ingredient in ginseng, may be a potential agent for thetreatment of Alzheimer’s disease (AD). However, the protective effect of Rg1 on neurodegeneration in ADand its mechanism of action are still incompletely understood. Methods: Wild type (WT) and APP/PS1 AD mice, from 6 to 9 months old, were used in the experiment. The open field test (OFT) and Morris water maze (MWM) were used to detect behavioral changes. Neuronal damage was assessed by hematoxylin and eosin (H&E) and Nissl staining. Immunofluorescence,western blotting, and quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction (q-PCR) were used toexamine postsynaptic density 95 (PSD95) expression, amyloid beta (Ab) deposition, Tau and phosphorylatedTau (p-Tau) expression, reactive oxygen species (ROS) production, and NAPDH oxidase 2(NOX2) expression. Results: Rg1 treatment for 12 weeks significantly ameliorated cognitive impairments and neuronaldamage and decreased the p-Tau level, amyloid precursor protein (APP) expression, and Ab generation inAPP/PS1 mice. Meanwhile, Rg1 treatment significantly decreased the ROS level and NOX2 expression inthe hippocampus and cortex of APP/PS1 mice. Conclusions: Rg1 alleviates cognitive impairments, neuronal damage, and reduce Ab deposition byinhibiting NOX2 activation in APP/PS1 mice.

        Melatonin Synergizes with Sorafenib to Suppress Pancreatic Cancer via Melatonin Receptor and PDGFR-β/STAT3 Pathway

        <P><B><I>Background/Aims:</I></B> Pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) is one of the most lethal malignant tumors with poor prognosis. Conventional chemotherapies including gemcitabine have failed owing to weak response and side effects. Hence novel treatment regimens are urgently needed to improve the therapeutic efficacy. In this study, we aimed to assess the anticancer activity of melatonin and sorafenib as a novel therapy against PDAC. <B><I>Methods:</I></B> We used various apoptosis assay and PDAC xenograft model to assess anticancer effect <I>in vitro</I> and <I>in vivo</I>. We applied phospho-receptor tyrosine kinase (RTK) array and phospho-tyrosine kinase array to explore the mechanism of the combined therapy. Western blotting, proximity ligation assay, and immunoprecipitation assay were also performed for validation. <B><I>Results:</I></B> Melatonin synergized with sorafenib to suppress the growth of PDAC both <I>in vitro</I> and <I>in vivo</I>. The effect was due to increased apoptosis rate of PDAC cells that was accompanied by mitochondria dysfunction. The enhanced anticancer efficacy by the co-treatment could be explained by blockade of PDGFR-β/STAT3 signaling pathway and melatonin receptor (MT)-mediated STAT3. <B><I>Conclusions:</I></B> Melatonin reinforces the anticancer activity of sorafenib by downregulation of PDGFR-β/STAT3 signaling pathway and melatonin receptor (MT)-mediated STAT3. The combination of the two agents might be a potential therapeutic strategy for treating PDAC.</P>

      • Cooperative Distribution Algorithm of Green Supply Chain Considering the Risk Aversion of Manufacturers

        Considering production and marketing coordination between supply chain enterprises, this paper specifies a multi-agent supply chain concurrent negotiation model for two-stage supply chain in the supply chain environment. Coordinator is used to search optimal proposals based on particle swarm optimization (PSO) and send these proposals to other threads. Proposal strategies based on retention value and time are put forward by learning retention value of rivals through Parzen-window estimation. Simulation experiment is conducted to test negotiation performance of the model. Compared with ordinary models, the model makes two improvements as follows: (1)PSO is inserted into coordinator to improve negotiation efficiency; (2) Proposal strategies are effectively supported by Parzen-window estimation and enable agents to consider the retention values of rivals. Further researches need to be done to study trust relationship between agents and influence of external environment on supply chain negotiation solution.

      • RAMS evaluation for a steel-truss arch high-speed railway bridge based on SHM system

        The evaluation theory of reliability, availability, maintainability and safety (RAMS) as a mature theory of state evaluation in the railway engineering, can be well used to the evaluation, management, and maintenance of complicated structure like the long-span bridge structures on the high-speed railway. Taking a typical steel-truss arch bridge on the Beijing-Shanghai high-speed railway, the Nanjing Dashengguan Yangtze River Bridge, this paper developed a new method of state evaluation for the existing steel-truss arch high-speed railway bridge. The evaluation framework of serving state for the bridge structure is presented based on the RAMS theory. According to the failure-risk, safety/availability, maintenance of bridge members, the state evaluation method of each monitoring item is presented. The weights of the performance items and the monitoring items in all evaluation levels are obtained using the analytic hierarchy process. Finally, the comprehensive serving state of bridge structure is hierarchical evaluated.

        Clinicopathologic and Prognostic Significance of the Zinc Finger of the Cerebellum Family in Invasive Breast Cancer

        Purpose: Five members of the zinc finger of the cerebellum (ZIC) family—ZIC1, ZIC2, ZIC3, ZIC4, and ZIC5—have been shown to be involved in various carcinomas. Here, we aimed to explore the clinicopathologic and prognostic roles of ZIC family members in invasive breast cancer patients using immunohistochemical analysis, western blotting analysis, and real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction (RT-qPCR). Methods: A total of 241 female invasive breast cancer patients who underwent radical mastectomy between 2009 and 2011 were enrolled. ZIC proteins in 241 pairs of breast tumors and corresponding normal tissues were investigated using immunohistochemistry and the clinicopathologic roles of proteins were analyzed using Pearson’s chi-square test. Kaplan-Meier curves and Cox regression analysis were also used to analyze the prognostic value of the ZIC proteins. In addition, 12 pairs of fresh-frozen breast tumors and matched normal tissues were used in the western blotting analysis and RT-qPCR. Results: Only ZIC1 expression in normal tissues was obviously higher than that in tumors (p<0.001). On multivariate analysis, ZIC1 expression (in overall survival analysis: hazard ratio [HR], 0.405, 95% confidence interval [CI], 0.233–0.702, p=0.001; in disease-free survival analysis: HR, 0.395, 95% CI, 0.234–0.669, p=0.001) was identified as a prognostic indicator of invasive breast cancer. Conclusion: ZIC1, but not the other proteins, was obviously decreased in breast tumors and associated with clinicopathologic factors. Thus, ZIC1 might be a novel indicator to predict the overall and disease-free survival of invasive breast cancer patients.

        State Feedback H∞ Control for a Class of Nonlinear Systems Using Partition of Unity Method

        The system model is nonlinear with respect to all its variables while the output model is linear. The nonlinear system model is firstly converted into an equivalent linear model with error by using partition of unity method. The stability with decay rate and the disturbance attenuation for the nonlinear system are discussed based on the equivalent model. A state feedback H∞ controller is then proposed in terms of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs).

VR 기술은 이 문제를 쉽게 해결할 수 있다. VR안경을 가정이나 부동산 내 지정된 장소에서 VR안경 을 사용하면 실제 주택의 배치와 장식 효과를 시뮬레이션을 하여 시간을 절약할 뿐 아니라 감염위험도 예방할 수 있다. 우리의 삶과 건강은 COVID-19의 영향을 받고 있지만 하루빨리 VR 기술 이 전자상거래에 적용돼야 한다는 의미를 담고 있다. VR 기술이 전자상거래에 적용된다는 장점도 많지만 단점도 많다. 우리는 이 기술을 개선하고 발전시켜야 한다. 본 논문은 VR 기술의 적용에 대해 논의하고 VR 기술의 적용에 대해 설명한다. With the start of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, every industry in society is changing, technological development, artificial intelligence, big data, VR technology, and other applications, and technology has also greatly saved time and human costs. At this stage, the use of computers and cell phones is becoming more common, and Internet shopping and Internet buying make our lives easier and faster. Although shopping online is cheap, it may not be suitable for you and then apply for a refund that affects the user experience. Therefore, by applying VR technology, consumers can increase their experience and satisfaction and buy their own products more accurately. On the other hand, in 2020 COVID-19 has caused us a lot of inconveniences. Consumers can't go to the scene to see the house. VR technology can solve this problem easily. Using VR glasses, at home, or designated locations in real estate, through VR glasses, simulates the layout and decorating effects of real houses, saving not only time but also preventing the risk of infection. Our lives and health are affected by COVID-19, but it implies that VR technology should be applied to e-commerce as soon as possible. Although VR technology has many advantages in being applied to e-commerce, there are many disadvantages as well. We should improve and develop this technology. This paper discusses the application of VR technology and explains the application of VR technology.
