        늑막조직생검으로 진단한 Pleural Paragonimiasis 1 예

        We report a 28-year old female patient with pleural paragonimiasis who did not have the usual diagnostic triad for this parasitic disease. She did not have chronic hemoptysis, there were no pulmonary infiltrations, and stool, sputum and pleural fluid examinations did not yield paragonimus ova. The diagnosis was made on the basis of ova found in the pleural biopsy. Paragonimus pleural effusion was resolved with frequent thoracentesis and oral praziquantel therapy.

        가성 장폐쇄로 발현한 부신경절종 1 예

        Phenochromocytoma is a catecholamine-secreting tumor, most of which grow at the adrenal gland. About 109p Of pheochromocytomas are detected at the extra-adrenal chromaffine tissues and are called paraganglioma. The main symptoms of pheochromacytoma include hypertension, headache, palpitation, and sweating. Gastrointestinal symptoms such as abdominal pain, constipation, and vomiting are found in 20∼40% of patients with pheochromocytoma, but these are usually overlooked because of the severe, prominant cardiovascular symptoms. Intestinal pseudo-obstruction without hypertension in pheochromocytoma is very rarely found. It is caused by the decreased motility of the intestine and the over-contraction of the intestinal sphincter, which are caused by the unbalanced activation of α-and β-adrenal receptors. It can be hypothesized that catecholamine receptors in the cardiovascular system are down-regulated or desensitized, but those in the intestine remain intact. We report herein a case of pheochromocytoma in which intestinal pseudo-obstruction was the main presenting clinical manifestation. Symptoms of intestinal pseudo-obstruction were completely relieved by administration of phenoxybenzamine, an α-receptor blocker, and excisional surgery.

      • Mycobacterium Avium - in tracellulare Complex 와 M . Fortuitum 에 의한 폐항산균증(肺抗酸菌症) 3예

        Two cases of pulmonary disease in a 54 year-old female and a 70 year-old male patient due to Mycobacterium avium-intracellulare complex (MAIC) and a case of pulmonary infection in a 69 year-old male patient due to M fortuitum (MF) were found recently in this institute. All three patients bad a long history of anti-tuberculous chemotherapy because they were initially diagnosed as pulmonary tuberculosis. A 70 year-old male patient infected with MAIC had an unsuccessful chemotherapy history of isoniazid (INH), para-aminosalicylic acid (PAS) and streptomycin (SM) with an incomplete, temporary, symptomatic improvement, for three years since 1964 when he was first diagnosed as pulmonary tuberculosis on physical examination. A 54 year-old female patient infected with MAIC also had an unsuccessful chemotherapy history with the various anti-tuberculous drugs since 1958. Both patients discharged large number of MAIC in their sputum specimens for at least more than one year, but no M tuberculosis at all. A 69 year-old male patient infected with MF was diagnosed as moderately advanced pulmonary tuberculsis in 1977. Combined chemotherapy with INH+PAS+pyrazinamide (PZA) improved his clinical symptoms, however, his chest radiograph was deteriorated again in 1980 one year after he stopped therapy. Therefore he started chemotherapy again with INH+ethionamide (TH)+cycloserine(CS) but no improvement was noticed. MF was cultured from his sputum in August 1983 and he continuously discharged the same baeilli until last examination of January l982. Whether all three patients were initially infected with nontuberculous mycobacteria or complicated with predisposing tuberculosis was not clear because there were no reliable bacteriological Examination records.

        HVOF 용사법으로 제조된 TiC-Fe 합금 코팅층의 내마모 특성에 미치는 열처리 영향

        The physical soundness, microhardness and wear properties of the thermally sprayed TiC-Fe wear-resistant coatings have been investigated. Thermally sprayed coatings were fabricated by HVOF and the subsequent heat-treatments were carried out at temperatures ranging from 800℃ to 1000℃ in either vacuum or air for 30 minutes. The wear resistance of the as-sprayed TiC-Fe alloy coatings was found to be better than that of Cr₃C₂-NiCr alloy coatings and similar to that of WC-Co coatings. In addition, the wear resistance and hardness of the coating were improved by the following heat-treatment in vacuum(∼10^(-3)torr). The maximum improvement in wear resistance and microhardness was about 20 and 30%, respectively by the heat-treatment performed at 900℃ in vacuum, while the heat-treatment in air deteriorated the wear property due to oxidation. It has been revealed, from TEM and Mo¨ssbauer studies, that the improved wear resistance in the heat treated coating was mainly caused by the hardness increase associated with martensitic transformation. However, no improvement in the wear resistance of the TiC-Fe coatings heat-treated in air seemed to be caused by the residual stress due to the oxidation of Fe matrix.

        Fe-Cr-B 계 합금 폭발용사 코팅층의 미세구조와 마모에 의한 표면 비정질상 생성

        Thermal spray coating layers were prepared on the carbon steel plates with iron-chrome-boron alloy powders using a detonation gun under various fuel gas contents. The coating layer was composed of Fe rich Fe-Cr solid solution and (Cr. Fe)_xB particles, which had relatively a tow friction coefficient such as 0.05 and showed high wear resistance. The transition from crystalline to amorphous phase occurred during the wear treatment. TEM observation revealed that Fe-Cr solid solution phase with super-saturated B and Si was one of the main contributors for the transition. Oxide inclusions formed at an excess fuel gas condition may impede the crystalline to amorphous transition by lowering the solute content in Fe-Cr solid solution phase.

        초미립 Fe-Cr-B 합금 용사코팅층의 미세조직과 상형성

        High boron containing Fe-Cr alloy powder has been investigated in this research as to its microstructure evolution by the rapid solidification in thermal spraying process. The Fe-Cr alloy powder consists of Cr-rich metal borides, such as Cr_(1.65)Fe_(0.35)B_(0.96) and Cr₂B, within Fe-Cr solid solution matrix phase. In the alloy powder, the boron content in the matrix phase was extremely low. Boron was supplied to the matrix Fe-Cr solid solution phase by the thermal dissolution of Cr-rich boride particles during the thermal spraying. Cross-sectional TEM observation on the coatings indicates that the coated layer is composed of equiaxed nanocrystalline Fe-Cr solid solution phase and boride particles. The formation of equiaxed nanocrystalline phase indicates that large undercooling could be attained during the rapid solidification of thermal spraying process.

      • 청국장의 제조방법과 이용실태에 관한 조사연구

        The preparation method for traditional Chung-Kuk-Jang at home was surveyed by 241 housewives through the country using premade questionnaires. The 84.2% of total respondents prepared Chung-Kuk-Jang at home, mostly from October to December (95.5%), once or twice per year (71.9%). Soybean for Chung-Kuk-Jang had a relatively large grain size, and average soaking and boiling time were 5.8 hr and 3.6 hr, respectively. Only 31% of respondents used rice straw for Chung-Kuk-Jang fermentation and 90% of respondents fermented Chung-Kuk-Jang in the Korean under-door heating system for 3 days (53.2%) or 2 days (20.2%). Average subsidiary ingredients for Chung-Kuk-Jang making were salt (8.5%), garlic(2.2%), redpepper-powder (0.2%). After mixing all ingredients, Chuag-Kuk-Jang in clay pot was kept in a cool place (38.4%) or refrigerator (38.4%). The 58.5% of total respondents had experience of purchasing commercial Chung-Kuk-Jang, mostly is the market (51.1%) or supermarket (40.4%) and the respondents, who were low-aged or high - educational level or live in apartment purchased the commercial products more often than the others. The reasons for purchasing commercial products were convenience (40.4%), short of time(34%) and the criteria for purchasing were odor (34.8%) and taste by previous experience (28.4%). Respondents preferred vinyl packing (83.7%) and 300g pack (52.5%) for. single usage. The 45.4% of respondents were not satisfied with the commercial products and the reason for dissatisfaction was inferior taste (56.3%), especially without taste peculiar to the Chung-Kuk-Jang. The necessities for improving quality of Chung-Kuk-Jang were to mask off - flavour (52.3%) and to preserve deterioration (30.7%).

        전기 절연용 EPDM Compouynds

        Non-ceramic composite insulator has been interested in the power industry because of its good characteristics in mechanical properties, mass product and design availability. Also it is lighter, and less unexplosive, compared to a ceramic insulator. Especially, EPDM rubber composite insulator can be used for long-term in contaminated environments because of its hydrophobicity. This paper showed the rheological properties, the electrical properties, and contact angles to check the hydrophobicity and the recoverability of the EPDM compounds. Also, we investigated surface morphology of the compound by SEM.

        Cu/Cr/polyimide 계의 계면파괴에너지

        The interfacial fracture energies, Γ, of the Cu/Cr/polyimide system were deduced using X-ray measurement method and theoretical method with variation of Cu film thickness and pretreatment conditions on polyimide surface. The two methods showed reasonably good agreement for most cases, imparting validity of both approaches. Estimated Γ were quite independent of the metal film thickness and increased with the rf plasma power density of polyimide pretreatment as expected. Estimated values of Γ were 46.8±7.8. 170.3±42.9 and 253.9±44.4 J/㎡ for the rf plasma power density of 0.03. 0.036 and 0.05 W/㎠, respectively.
