        한국무속의 '신병'에 대한 진단분류연구

        To study nosologically the Korean shaman's initiation sickness, 'Shin-Byong', the authors investigated 29 shamans with Symptom Check List-90-R(SCL-90-R) and questionnaire without visiting and interviewed 70 shamans using SCL-90-R, questionnaire and The Schedule for Affective Disorder and Schizophrenia-Lifetime(SADS-L). All shamans were located in Seoul. The results were as follows : 1) Among symptom groups of SCL-90-R, 'Shin-Byong' were associated with higher scores in depression, somatization, psychoticism and hostility group in descending order. 2) With DSM-Ⅲ-R classification, 87.2% of 'Shin-Byong' cases were mood disorders, Another 8.6% of cases were somatization and dissociative disorders and two disorders were related with dissociative phenomenon. Considering the diagnosis of manic episodes in this study, it seems to be a part of dissociative phenomenon, 'Shin-Byong' is the syndrome that is mainly composed of depression and disorders, which are related with dissociative phenomenon. 3) Shamans have teleologic thinking that 'Shin-Byong' is the phenomenon to receive spirits and diagnose intuitively. They think the main therapeutic method is recieving spirits, In conclusion, 'Shin-Byong' isn't a real disease entity but it is a shamanistic disease concept transformed during the shamanistic therapeutic process for depression patients with high dissociative tendency and dissociative disorder.

        혈관질환 정보관리 시스템

        As medical technology progresses rapidly, there is a rise in the average age along with the Korean dietary lifestyle becoming more westernized, which leads to an increase in the number of vascular disease patients in Korea. Thus, we need to manage the medical information of a disease systematically in order to diagnose and treat constructively. However, since there has been no standardized method of man agement to date, a great deal of information could not be properly utilized nor studied. Therefore, the departments of Cardiology, Radiology and Neurology of Samsung Seoul Hospital recently got together to develop an information management system called the Vascular Data System. This program was developed to be run on win98 O/S, upper Pentium Ⅲ, and upper 128 MB Memory, and its source code is Dephi 4.0. It was configured for the user to set the configurations as well as do a variety of search and analysis. If this program were to be updated continuously, it may be used extensively as well as in various parts of clinical research activities.

        수종 치근단 역충전재가 치근단 조직 함유에 미치는 영향

        AbstractThe purpose of this study was to examine the response of periradicular tissues to amalgam, IRM, Ketac-silver and MTA(Mineral trioxide aggregate) used as a root end fillings. The lower third and fourth premolars of 5 mongrel dogs were used. Each root was resected, followed by root end fillings with experimental materials.The animals were sacrificed after 16 weeks and radiographic and histologic results were evaluated.The results were as follows : 1. Severe inflammation around apex and disruption of cortical were noted in relation to the amalgam. 2. With IRM, there was severe infiltration of inflammatory cells around filling material, but healing of cortical bone was noted. 3. With Ketac-silver, mild inflammation and thick band of fibrous connetive tissue around filling material were seen, with a cortical bone healing. 4. In case of MTA, complete regeneration of cortical bone was seen, and free MTA was surrounded with newly formed bone tissue.

      • 充塡蒸溜塔의 物質傳達係數에 關한 硏究

        The effect of the distance between two adjacent mixing points on overall mass transfer coefficient was studied for distillation experiments of binary system, acetone-methanol in a 26.5 mm I.D. laboratory column designed to simulate the flow characteristics of an industrial packed distillation column. Five different types of packing elements were used and a quantitative empirical correlation was proposed between overall mass transfer coefficient and the characteristic packing length. The analysis of the present experimental result and of the previous work showed that the general correlation between KG and characteristic packing length would be a hyperbolic function and that if the liquid film is not rippling, as was the present case, the variation of overall mass transfer coefficient could be represented by a linear function of the number of mixing points.

        Most of X - ray equipments using in the department of radiology use high voltage. By the way, electrical shock can be occurred by outworn of the equipment, defect of it or handle with carelessness. Hence careful control is required for X - ray equipments. Recent, Medical Act was amended to appoint the responsible person for safe control of radiation equipments. But safe control of electrical side is rather careless. We cannot emphasize electrical safety too much. In the meantime, we cannot obtain safety by itself though the construction for medical electric equipments are appropriate. To obtain safety of the equipments, usage, maintenance and systematic instruction for the equipments are needed. It needs to periodically inspect electric resistance, insulation resistance, armoring leakage current, etc. It offers the patient and the persons concerned comfort and safe working environment.

      • 하수 방류수 살균소독을 위한 무전극 UV Lamp의 개발

        하수방류수 살균소독에 이용되는 UV 램프를 기존의 전극용보다 효율을 높이고 수명이 긴 무전극 UV 램프를 제작하고 그 성능을 알아보았다. 우선 활성물질을 변화시키면서 제조한 램프의 UV강도 및 온도의 변화를 살펴보았다. 그 결과 활성물질이 Hg/Ind의 무게비 95/5로 만든 램프를 250분간 운전한 결과 UV 강도 300 mW/㎤ 및 표면온도 200-250 ℃로 가장 안정적인 결과를 가져왔다. 그러나 무전극 램프를 장시간 발광시켰을 경우 램프의 표면온도가 상승하기 때문에 실제 하수처리공정에 사용하기 위하여 냉각이 가능한 이중관 형태로 제작하여 UV강도와 온도 변화특성도 알아보았다. 또한 제작된 무전극 UV lamp를 하수 방류수의 살균소독을 위하여 대장균(E-coli.)으로 실험한 결과 99.9% 이상의 살균효율을 보였다.

      • 一部 綜合病院 産婦人科 入院患者의 統計的 考察

        From the 514 hospitalized patients who treated in the department of obstetrics & gynecology in 1985, we studied their diease patterns and the results of the treatment. The results of this study were as follows. 1. Their disease were pregnancy complication (26.1%), abnormal delivery (24. 1%), benign neoplasm (14.4%), inflammatory disease(14,0%), malignant neoplasm(8. 7%) and genital disease (6.0%) in the decreasing order. Prengnancy complication, abnormal delivery & inflammatory disease revealed the higher rate in their 3rd & 4th decades, while benign and malignant neoplasm and genital disease revealed higher rate in the over 40 years age group. 2. The patients with 10 to 19 days of average hospitalization comprised the highest percentage with 46.1%. Among those patients with less than 20 days of hospitalization, the most frequent reasons for the hospitalization were the pregnancy complication, abnormal delivery, and inflammatory disease. Those patients with longer than 20 days of hospitalization, benign neoplasm, malignant neoplasm, and genital disease were their main causes. 3. The average cure rate, either by medically or surgically, was 94. 0%. The cure rate in abnormal delivery was 100%, 98.7% in benign neoplasm, 98.6% in inflammatory disease, 96.8% in genital disease, and 96.3% in patients with complicated pregnancy. But the cure rate was only 53.3% in patients with malignant neoplasm. 4. A higher incidence of pregnancy complication and abnormal delivery were noted in the patients with or without a medical insurance where as a higher frequency of neoplasm and genital disease were associated with medi-care patients. Also the positive correlation between the age of the patients and the length of hospitalization was noted. that was the older the patient the longer the hospitalization. 5. The shorter hospitalization was associated with the higher cure rate. The cure rate was highest for the medically insured patient with 97.0%. But that was 93.20% in non-insured, and 85.5% in medi-care patients. 6. For the medically insured group, there was no special difference between hosptial days. In the non-insured group, the highest percentage of patients was noted at the duration of less than 10 days. On the contrary, the highest percentage for medi-care patients was noted in the longer duration, namely hospitalization requiring greater than 29 days.

        자외선 (UVB) 노출 증가에 대한 피부암 위해도 예측 모델의 적용

        A decrease in stratospheric ozone probably caused by chloroflurocarbons (CFCs) emissions, has been observed large parts of the globe. It is generally accepted that if ozone levels in the stratosphere are depleted, greater amounts of shortwave ultraviolet radiation-B (UVB) will reach the earth's surface, resulting in increased incidence of nonmelanoma skin cancer. In this study, we evaluated several mathematical models, such as a power and an exponential model, and a geometric model considering the surface area of a human body part and ages for the prediction of skin cancer incidence caused by exposure to the UVB radiation. These models basically estimated the risk of skin cancer based on those measurements of the local ozone in stratosphere and UVB. Both were measured at a part of Seoul with a Dobson ozone spectrometer and Robertson-Berger UV Biometer for 1995. As a result, we calculated the point estimation applying a biological amplification factor (BAF), UVB radiation and other factors. We used a Monte-Carlo simulation technique with assumption on the distribution of each considered factor. The sensitivity analysis of model by there components conducted using Gaussian sensitivity method. The annual integral of UVB radiation was 2275 MED (minimal erythema dose)/yr. Also, an estimate of the annual amount of UVB reaching the earth's surface at a korea's latitude and altitude was 3328 MED/yr. The values of the radiation amplification factor (RAF) were ranged from 0.9 to 1.5 in Seoul. To give the effective factors required to model the prediction of skin cancer incidence caused by exposure to the UVB radiation in Korea, we studied the pros and cons of above mentioned models with the application of those parameters measured in Seoul, Korea.
