        The quality of a food is judged by the consumer according to its appearance, taste and texture. Especially among them, color is recognized as a major factor affecting food acceptance. This study was performed in order to develop a new yanggaeng products having beautiful appearances, attractive flavors, lower calories and healthier functions. We have investigated on the quality characteristics and storage stability of sweet jelly beans(colored yanggaengs) prepared by adding with natural ingredients, such as fruit juices and green tea powder. To obtain various colors and flavors, different ingredients were used such as fruit juices made directly from cherry(red color), orange(orange color, or yellow color), grapes(dark violet color). Also green tea powder(leekgreen color) was purchased from a market. Yanggaengs were prepared by adding these fruit juices or green tea powder, which Azuki bean powder as sediment, non-calorie sugar, and agar-agar products, etc. Color, texture profile analysis, sensory evaluation, viable cell count, and the strength of sample yanggaengs were examined to assess their acceptability for commercial use. In conclusion, the new colored yanggaengs could possess better appearances, flavors and healthier functions, compared with commercial products sold in market. Additionally, they could have lower calories because sugar was not used as a sweetener.

        미만성 기관지 유전분증 1 예

        Primary pulmonary amyloidosis is a rare disorder. It can be classified into tracheo-bronchial, diffuse alveolar septal and nodular parenchymal form. Tracheo-bronchial amyloidosis can be further subdivided into diffuse and focal varieties. We report a case of diffuse tracheo-bronchial amyloidosis in a 49-year old man comfirmed by broncos-copic biopsy. He has suffered from cough and exertional dyspnea over 20 years and recently atelectasis of fright middle and lower lobe was found on chest X-ray with aggravation of symptom. The chest CT showed irregular thickening of tracheo-bronchial wall with calcification in addition to collapse of right middle and lower lobe. The bronchoscopy showed multiple variable sized submucosal nodules in lower trachea and both sides of bronchi, and biopsy revealed amyloid deposition at the subepithelial layer. We discussed this case with review of literature.

      • 장방형내 저온 단일 수평 원관 주위의 동결현상에 관한 실험적 연구

        An experimental study on water in a rectangular cavity with a horizontal cooling tube was carried out to investigate the flow character and thermal behavior in the system. Each experiment was performed with variation of initial temperature and cooling tube temperature. When the cooling tube temperature was -4℃, the supercooling phenomenon was observed regardless of the initial water temperature. And the case of cooling tube temperature was -6℃ with initial temperature was below 4℃, the supercooling phenomenon was also observedin the large region of the test section. When the cooling tube temperature was -10℃, the local region of supercooling phenomenon was observed during the freezing process. And the higher initial temperature was, the higher supercooling degree and the less difference of the ice thickness between upward and downward was observed. It is shown that by controllingthe supercooling phenomena and the cooling tube temperature, it would lead to an increase efficiency of ice making.

      • 수직 냉각면이 있는 정방형내 성층유체의 열적거동에 관한 실험적 연구

        This study was investigated by experimentals on the thermal behavior of stratified fluids in the square cavity with the vertical cooling surface by variation of initial temperature and cooling surface temperature and concluded as follows: 1. When the cooling surface temperature of the square cavity was -4℃. the supercooling phenomena was occurred every times regardless initial temperature of fluids and when -6℃ freezing was begun with out supercooling phenomena. 2. The higher the initial temperature was, the longer supercooling phenomena duration was, and the longer the supercooling phnomena was, the higher the temperature of the upper fluids was. 3. When the supercooling phenomena of water was occurred, the rate of temperature decrease of silicon oil was higher and when there was no supercooling phenomena, it was almost same the rate of temperature decrease.

      • 심전도의 디지털 기록화 모듈과 개인용컴퓨터 저장/분석시스템의 개발

        연구목적: 현재 우리나라의 의료분야에서는 정보기술의 발전으로 처방 전달 시스템과 전자차트의 활용이 상용화 되고 있으나 병원내에서 가장 많이 처방되고 검사되는 12-유도 심전도의 디지털화와 이에 연계된 심전도 결과의 개인용 컴퓨터로의 저장, 인터넷을 이용한 병원으로의 전송이나 타 기관에서의 심전도 결과의 동시 관찰 등에 관한 기술 등은 개발되지 못한 상태이다. 이에 본 연구에서는 심전도를 디지털화하며 저장이 가능한 PC 모듈을 개발하고 심전도 결과를 병원 전산 시스템에 포함시켜 병원내외에서 편리하게 조회, 검색할 수 있는 디지털 인터페이스를 개발하려 하였다. 재료 및 방법 : 낮은 전력에서 잡음특성이 우수한 대역여파기와 증폭기를 설계하였으며 각종기능이 내장된 고신뢰성 프로세서를 채택하였으며 전원 잡음이 고려된 필터와 전원 회로 설계로 하드웨어를 개발하였다. MSC 6.0과 Visual Basic 6.0을 바탕으로 하여 active X 모듈화를 유도하고 조회용 PC에서의 복원과 PACS로의 연동을 통해 순환기내과용 PACS 개발이 가능하도록 소프트웨어를 준비하였다. 결과: 심전도 검사자가 쉽게 장착, 검사가 가능한 소형화된 측정 모듈을 개발하였고 극저전류에서 동작이 가능하였으며 우수한 데이터의 압축 및 복원률을 구현하였다. 결론: 이번 심전도 디지털 모듈의 개발로 기존의 감광지에 의존하던 심전도 결과의 보존과 보관공간에 의한 경제적인 손실을 상당 부분 해결할 수 있으며 OCS에 연계된 결과로 인해 원내에서의 다면적 진료가 가능하다. 이번 연구에서 개발된 기술은 향후 디지털화된 심전도 기록장치와 같은 고부가 의료장치의 국산화와 광파일 의무기록 시스템이나 검사물의 무선 전송에 채용되어 의료 전달 체계나 응급체계의 발전에 기여하리라 사료된다. Purpose : The progressed communication technology commercialized the order communication system ( OCS) and the electric medical records( EMR) in the field of medicine in Korea. However, technologies of digitalization such as recording to personal computer, transfer to internet and simultaneous observation of electrocardiogram ( ECG) recorded at the different center were not realized yet. This study tried to invent personal computer module that can digitalize and record of the ECG and design the digital interface that can approach and search digitalized ECG in various part of hospital simultaneously. Materials and Methods : We had designed high-fidelity digital filter and amplifier which can work in very low voltage, had selected multifunctioned microprocessor. Activation X modulation was conducted by MSC 6.0 and Visual Basic 6.0. Softwares were prepared for the transfer of ECG informations from terminal PC to PACS and cardiologic PACS was designed for future application. Results : We have developed the small, portable, very low voltage managed ECG module and high quality digitalized information compression software in OCS and PACS. Conclusion : This invented ECG digital archive module can save hospital cost by substitution of ECG papers for digital storage or on-line storage, therefore ECG data can be handled in multisector of the hospital and through telemedicine. This technology can be applied to domestic ECG digitalizing device development and effective medical transfer system by adoption cordless medical information delivery.

        Feasibility of Improving the Accuracy of Dose Calculation Using Hybrid Computed Tomography Images: A Phantom Study

        Purpose: Kilovoltage computed tomography (kV-CT) is essential for radiation treatment planning. However, kV-CT images are significantly distorted by artifacts when a metallic prosthesis is present in the patient's body. Thus, the accuracies of target delineation and treatment dose calculation are inevitably lowered. We evaluated the accuracy of the calculated doses using an image restoration method with hybrid CT, which was introduced in our previous study. Methods: A cylindrical phantom containing four metals, namely, silver, copper, tin, and tungsten, was scanned using kV-CT and megavoltage CT to produce hybrid CT images. We created six verification plans for three head and neck patients on kV-CT and hybrid CT images of the phantom and calculated their doses. The actual doses were measured with film patches during beam delivery using tomotherapy. We used the gamma evaluation method to compare dose distribution between kV-CT and hybrid CT with three gamma criteria, namely, 3%/3 mm, 2%/2 mm, and 1%/1 mm. Results: The gamma pass rates decreased as the gamma criteria were strengthened, and the pass rate of hybrid CT was higher than that of kV-CT in all cases. When the 1%/1 mm criterion was used, the difference in gamma pass rates between them was up to 13%p. Conclusions: According to our findings, we expect that the use of hybrid CT can be a suitable approach to avoid the effect of severe metal artifacts on the accuracy of dose calculation and contouring.

        A deep-learning method using single phantom to enhance megavoltage image quality for patient positioning in chest radiotherapy: a feasibility study

        Image-guided radiation treatment (IGRT) is essential for verifying patient positioning during modern radiotherapy. Although megavoltage digital radiographs (MV-DR) are available on most therapeutic linear accelerators and can be used for checking treatment beam shapes, they are much inferior to kilovoltage digital radiographs (KV-DR) in terms of image quality. As it is generally challenging to obtain a well-aligned MV−KV training dataset of patients in clinical scenarios, there is a lack of sufcient information on the accuracy of KV-DR synthesized using supervised training. Therefore, we aimed to synthesize pseudo KV-DR (pKV-DR) from MV-DR using a training dataset developed with a single anthropomorphic chest phantom. The phantom was adopted to obtain MV−KV image pairs at various gantry angles because these image pairs of patients are highly difcult to acquire and exactly align with each other. A deep-learning model based on U-net architecture was trained with the phantom image pairs using the mean absolute error (MAE) and structure similarity (SSIM) indices as loss functions. The mean MAEs of MV-DR and pKV-DR against KV-DR as the ground truth were 0.1152 and 0.0169, respectively, and their mean SSIM values were 0.9693 and 0.9942, respectively. Finally, pKV-DR showed a relatively high image similarity to that of KV-DR with smaller MAE (14.7%) and higher SSIM (2.5%), compared with MV-DR. The image contrast was also improved by 37.1% in clinical cases. The proposed method is expected to enable the implementation of improved IGRT with high image quality of KV-DR level, even in clinics where MV-DR is only available.

        Structure of an Oncology Information System Based on a Cost-Effective Relational Database for Small Departments of Radiation Oncology

        Purpose: Radiation oncology information systems (ROIS) have evolved toward connecting and integrating information between radiation treatment procedures. ROIS can play an important role in utilizing modern radiotherapy techniques that have high complexity and require a large amount of information. Methods: Using Access<sup>TM</sup> software, we have developed a relational database that is highly optimized for a radiotherapeutic workflow. Results: The prescription table was chosen as the core table to which the other tables were connected, and three types of forms-charts, worklists, and calendars- were suggested. A fast and reliable channel for delivering orders and remarks according to changes in the situation was also designed. Conclusions: We expect our ROIS design to inspire those who need to develop and manage an individual ROIS suitable for their radiation oncology departments at a low cost.
